Description

DeMarini baseball bats are the top choice for many players across the nation because of their dedication to high-level performance. The DeMarini Voodoo bats are back and better than ever! With a two-piece, hybrid construction, the Voodoo delivers the traditional sound of alloy bats with the lightweight, smooth feel of composite bats. As the most versatile option in DeMarini's lineup, there's a reason it has become one of the all-time most popular baseball bats in the game. It all starts with the X14 Alloy barrel that utilizes enhanced variable wall thickness throughout for a more powerful performance at the plate. The feature and technology that sets this year's model apart from previous designs is the 3Fusion System. This one-of-a-kind design includes the streamlined 3Fusion handle along with the lightweight 3Fusion end cap that optimizes weight for better overall control and faster swing speeds. With a sleek design, the 3Fusion handle provides a serious reduction of vibration in the hands and a noticeable difference in flex on contact that helps transfer negative energy into the barrel for premier pop and insane ball flight. DeMarini: Choose Innovation. Choose Power. Choose Speed!

This DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTDXVIC) features a standard 2 5/8-inch barrel diameter, a drop 3 length to weight ratio, and the BBCOR certified .50 stamp for high school and collegiate approval. With this particular model, it has been redesigned for the season to now come with an extended barrel taper and a much more stiff handle in comparison to previous models. It is also the most end loaded, heaviest swinging baseball bat in the DeMarini BBCOR lineup. With that in mind, purchase yours today with free shipping and a full one (1) year manufacturer's warranty. Remember, we're here for you from click to hit!

Okay Jeffery player

Pros: Feels good to swing, nice weight ratio. Pretty durable and somewhat usable.

Cons: Not as much pop as I expected, I was looking for a high school bat with some good speed and pop. But I didn't get this. Hope to find something much better soon.

INSANE Jesse player

Pros: I've been swinging DeMarini for 3 years now and the Voodoo Insane is my favorite to date. It's definitely end loaded and it absolutely crushes balls. I bat third on my team if that tells you anything.

Cons: I do like the new handle technology because it looks cool, but I still feel some vibration every once in a while.

Great Pop Seth player

Pros: Awesome pop! Cant feel any vibrations. I like this bat better than a mako.

Cons: The grip is really bad. The first couple times I swung with it almost slipped out of my hands. I bought a lizard skin for it and it is much nicer.

Is this bat an approved bat for the 2018 Little League season? Ken
This 2018 DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTDXVIC) would only be permitted in the Senior Division of Little League Baseball when the 2018 season begins.
Ben
I am 6"1, 145 lbs what size in this bat do you recommend? Also, I have the old 2012 Voodoo, how does this bat compare to that one? Jakey Beisbol
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVIC will feel close to the 2012 version, just a bit more end load. I would recommend swinging a 33'' 30.
Max
I loved this bat "DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC", what is the closer model to it now? Peter
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVIC is going to be the closest comparison to the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC.
Carter
Is this bat a similar/replacement to the Voodoo RAW BBCOR bat? james
Yes, the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVIC will be very similar. They both feature two-piece hybrid design with an end loaded swing weight.
Dan
(1) Is this a power bat? (2) Is this like the rest of the DeMarini with the horrible tons of flex when making contact? (3) Is the handle super thin again like all of them? baseball
(1) This 2018 DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTDXVIC) will feature an end-load and be considered power hitter bat. (2) This bat will offer a considerable amount of flex when making contact with a baseball due to the two-piece design. (3) Yes, this Voodoo Insane will have a pretty thin handle [probably around 7/8"].
Ben
Hi, so I am 16 years old, 6-1, 195, and I really like swinging the Victus Pro Reserve V243 Wood bat, and the Victus Pro Reserve BS23. To my knowledge those bats are slightly end loaded but I am not completely sure. Considering that I really like swinging those bats, would you say it's best to buy the Voodoo Insane BBCOR, or the regular balanced voodoo? Thanks! JJ
The turn model of 243 would be an end-loaded swing weight, because of that I would recommend going with the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVIC.
Max
Between the DeMarini Voodoo Insane, Louisville Slugger 718, and the Easton Beast X Loaded, is one more end loaded than the other? Milktruck
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVIC and the other bats that were mentioned are all end-loaded models from their respective manufacturers. If I were to rate the three bats in terms of which one felt more end-loaded then I would rank as follows: 2018 Easton Beast X Loaded BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB18BXL, 2018 DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVIC, and 2018 Louisville Slugger Select 718 BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTLBBS718B3.
Cameron
I"m honeslty so stuck on which bat to buy (BBCOR) between the Easton Ghost or the Demarini Voodoo Insane. I know one is balanced and the other is end loaded. I"m a lead-off hitter, can steal bases, cover the outfield super well. I was a good hitter last year with the Mako Beast, but ever since I got back to baseball after playing football, I've been bat switching and I'm losing confidence hitting. Hopefully you read this question because I"m desperate for some guidance. VP
Based on the information you've provided, I would suggest going with the 2018 Easton Ghost X BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB18GX due to the balanced swing weight. A balanced bat would fit your style better than an end loaded option like the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVIC, and will help with confidence at the plate as well.
Logan
I live in a colder area. I just got a new bat and I was wondering if I can use it outside in 20-45 degree weather? rALPH
I would try to refrain from using a brand new bat in temperatures below 55 degrees. Especially, if you are just participating in a practice and the temperature is below 55 degrees. If it is a game and the temperature is below 55 degrees, it will be okay to use your new bat, but limit the use to just yourself. (The reason we say to limit use below 55 degrees is because at 55 degrees, a baseball becomes denser and can damage the barrel of any bat).
Ben
How much "heavier" does an end loaded bat feel? Tom
Most end-loaded bats will have a .5 oz end load, meaning they have shifted .5 oz towards the end. How much heavier that makes a bat feel will vary based on a player's strength, but I generally say it will probably feel 1-1.5 oz heavier than a balanced bat of the same weight.
Kyle J.
How similar is the 2018 Voodoo Insane to the 2012 Voodoo (DXVDC)? Gun
There have been quite a few changes from 2012 to 2018. Just about all parts of the bat have been upgraded in some way or the other.
Kyle J.
Will this bat be available in a 32.5 inch length anytime soon? Is there a comparable end-loaded bat that comes in a 32.5? JJ
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVIC was featured in a 32.5 inch length but unfortunately we have sold out of this size and can no longer restock this size from DeMarini. As for another bat that would be comparable in a 32.5 inch length, at this time there would not be a comparable model on the market from another manufacturer.
Cameron
When will the 2019 version of this bat be released? And will it come in a 32.5"/29.5 oz size? JJ
We have not been provided an official release date for the 2019 BBCOR DeMarini models at this time. Generally those are released later in the summer. We have not been told if it will be available in a 32.5" size. I would contact DeMarini directly to try and get more information.
Kyle J.
I need a 31 inch end loaded bat, what are my options? ken
Unfortunately the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVIC is not featured in a 31 inch length. A better option to consider in that size would be the 2018 DeMarini CF Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCIC.
Cameron
Is it a BBCOR bat with .50 BPF? Neon
Yes, the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVIC is BBCOR certified.
Tori
I was looking to maybe get this bat for this season, but last year I swung a 33' CAT 7. I am 15 years old and about 6"0' and 190 lbs. Do you think I should look at another 33' or move up to a 34'? brian
Based on your height, weight and age; you could use a 34" version of this 2018 DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTDXVIC) if you felt strong enough to handle the end-loaded 31 oz weight of this bat.
Ben
I am 6'1" and 195 lbs. I'm looking for a new bat to replace my DeMarini Voodoo Raw. I'm debating between this and the CF Insane. Would there be a swing weight difference? And since I"m used to the aluminum, should I even be considering the composite, CF Insane? dingers
If you have swung the Voodoo Raw and enjoyed using it, my recommendation would be to get this 2018 DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTDXVIC) as it has the similar two-piece, hybrid build to it. I don't think you need to go with the composite CF Zen unless you have direct interest in using that bat.
Ben
I'm a sophomore in high school, I'm smaller than mostly everyone on the team in terms of size, but I'm stronger in terms of weightlifting than even the bigger guys on my team. Should I get the balanced Voodoo because of my size, or Voodoo Insane because I am strong? unit
It would be hard to say which would be better for you. If you haven't ever used an end loaded bat in the past, I would say to go with the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVBC, which will still be slightly end loaded due to the nature of the hybrid construction. However, if you have used an end loaded, or hybrid, bat in the past, the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVIC might the better option.
Logan
My son is 6' 3" and about 260 pounds. What length and weight do you recommend for a bat? He will be a freshman in high school this year. He has fast hands and can crush a ball. diddly
Based on your player's height and weight, I would suggest a 34" 2018 DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVIC. However, if he is transitioning from a -5 or -8 bat and you feel 31 ounces may be a bit heavy, a 33" would be fine.
Logan
What are the differences between the 2018 and 2019 versions of this bat? JJ
The 2019 DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVIC19 offers an improved Paraflex Plus Composite handle to further dampen vibrations and to improve flex which generates more momentum than the composite handle on the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVIC.
Logan
I am an incoming junior and I am about 5'11" and weigh 160-170lbs. I know that's fairly small but I lift more and am quite stronger than the bigger guys I know and have swung an end loaded bat in the past. Should I stay with an end loaded bat or should I switch to a balanced bat? Jake
With the information that you provided, we would recommend that you stay with an end loaded bat. Unless you have experienced any issues at the plate as of late. An end loaded option like the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVIC will assist in distance for the strongest 3-4 players on the team. If you fall into this category and have had success with an end loaded option in the past, there is no reason to go to a balanced bat.
Daveron
Does this bat have any advantages compared to the Demarini Voodoo Paradox? Beyond the swing weights. Jessie
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVIC will only differ from the older Paradox models in the swing weight (as you touched on with the Insane being end loaded) and the incorporation of the new 3-Fusion technology. The 3-Fusion technology nullifies more vibrations and re-purposes energy on contact back into the barrel for better results.
Tyler
My son is a sophomore in high school, 5'9" and about 160 pounds. Dedicated in the weight room, getting stronger each month. Which DeMarini bat would you recommend? Tony Walker
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVIC would be a great option if he progresses in the weight room as he is. The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVIC will be end loaded and I feel that a more physically strong player can whip the heavy end load quickly through the zone.
Max
What (if any) is different between a DeMarini Voodoo Insane and Voodoo One? Lohse Roy
This DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTDXVIC) and the Voodoo One differ as this bat is a two-piece, hybrid bat with an end-loaded feel to it. Some would call this bat a power-hitter bat. The Voodoo One has a one-piece, all-aluminum design with a balanced feel to it. Power hitters or contact hitters could use the Voodoo One.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
