Description

New for the season is the DeMarini CFX series! One of the best softball bats is back and better than ever. DeMarini is driven by innovation and strives to improve year after year. This series pushes the limits of technology to create the lightest swinging, highest performing fastpitch softball bat to date. The proven Paraflex composite material makes up each bat to deliver 22% better durability, precise weight distribution, and premium pop right out of the wrapper. A half and half, two-piece design dampens negative feedback in the hands during off-center hits while simultaneously increasing sweet spot performance for more ball flight than ever before. The latest and greatest feature that is exclusive to the CFX series is called the 3-Fusion system. This one-of-a-kind design includes the streamlined 3-Fusion handle along with the lightweight 3-Fusion end cap that optimizes weight for better overall control at the plate. With a sleek design, the 3-Fusion handle provides a dramatic reduction of sting in the hands and a noticeable difference in flex on contact that helps transfer energy into the barrel for maximum performance. DeMarini's RCK knob tops it off, and it is still anatomically designed to fit perfectly into any player's hand. DeMarini: Can't Stop!

This model, the DeMarini CFX Insane fastpitch softball bat (WTDXCFI), features a -10 length to weight ratio, a traditional 2 1/4 inch barrel diameter, and a slightly end loaded swing weight that brings insane pop to the plate for those power hitters out there. Take your swing to another level and purchase one of these DeMarini softball bats today with free shipping right here at JustBats.com. Don't forget, we're here from click to hit!

not hot out of the wrapper mom parent

Pros: sounds good, looks good so far that's all we are liking about this bat.

Cons: price wow!!!! I bought this for my daughter 18u. it says limited break in period untrue it takes awhile. off the handle on the inside pitch ball still goes through the infield. outside pitch off the end of the bat the ball dies. i''m glad we still have our F6 insane and F7.

the insane demerini Karris player

Pros: I love this bat because it has so much pop and even though it's slightly enloaded it doesn't make you drop your bat. also the first time I went to hit with this bat in a practice I hit it over the fence in live pitching! I recommend this bat for 8th graders especially!

Cons: The only thing really that I don't like is some others that aren't that strong to hold one of these might let the bat drop since its enloaded and it could mess up your swing but even if that happens just get a balanced bat I mean that still a good bat m friend has it and she hits awesome.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the DeMarini CFX Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

My daughter is 5 ft 150 lbs. She is a power hitter who hits to the right side of the field. Would you recommend this bat since it is slightly end loaded or should I go with an even loaded bat? I was looking to go with the 32. All about the hit
If your player is a power hitter and can handle the added swing weight, she would benefit from the end loaded 2018 DeMarini CFX Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI. The added mass in the barrel will offer even more power resulting in greater distances.
Logan
What model, length, and weight should my daughter hit with she is 14 yrs. old 5'6" 140lbs. scrub
Based on your player's height and weight, I would suggest a 33" bat. The question on weight of the bat is better for a coach to answer since there are many different variables to consider for each player. The most common size for that age would be a -10, such as the 2018 DeMarini CFX Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI.
Logan
Is this an end-loaded bat or a balanced bat? savannah
The 2018 DeMarini CFX Insane (WTDXCFI) is an end-loaded model.
Kyle J.
What's the difference between the 2017 model and the 2018 model? If any please explain. goose
The 2018 DeMarini CFX Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI and the 2017 are fairly similar bats. The 2018 CFX does feature some improved aspects. The CFX has the 3-Fusion end cap for better durability, and it features the 3-Fusion handle technology to better reduce sting and vibration than previous models.
Jason
What's the difference between CFX and CF9? will
The main difference is that the CFX uses DeMarini's new 3-Fusion technology in the end cap and handle which improves things like sting, balance, durability, and energy transfer to the ball.
Kyle J.
My daughter is 9 years old and currently swings the CF9 30" / 19oz., would she benefit any from this newer bat? Or go up in length or weight? Greene
Your daughter wouldn't necessarily benefit from a newer version of the bat she has unless you've observed a drop off in performance of the current bat. If she has a 30" 19 oz. CF9, it would be a balanced version, and would swing lighter than the end loaded 2018 DeMarini CFX Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI. I would suggest she continue swinging the same size bat she is currently at her age.
Logan
My daughter has extremely fast hands and always out in front. Hitting to left field constantly. She is swinging the CF9 -10 30". Would it be beneficial to move her up to a 31" CFX to slow her down? She is 13, 5'4" 120lbs Lou
Based off your players specifications, I would actually recommend the 2018 DeMarini CFX Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI with a 32 inch length. If the jump to the 32 inch option is too much, you can start with the 31 inch bat.
Dan
My daughter is slight build 10 year old. Do you have this model in 29' drop 10? Striker13
Unfortunately, the 2018 DeMarini CFX Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI is not made in a smaller length than a 31". If you wanted a 29", you would have to go with the -11, which is the 2018 DeMarini CFX -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFS.
Jason
My daughter is a 14 yr 5.2" 120 lb line drive hitter. We are looking into the 2018 CFX Insane Fastpitch 31' 21 oz -10, is this a good bat for her? jazzy
Based on your daughter's height and weight, we would recommend getting a 32 inch model but if she feels more comfortable using a 31 inch then there is nothing wrong with that. The 2018 DeMarini CFX Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI is an end-loaded bat so as long as she feels comfortable with an end-loaded bat then this would be a great option.
Cameron
I'm stuck between going with the 32" -10 (end loaded) or the 32" -11 (balanced). This would be for a 14 year old girl. She's about 5'1" and 95lbs. She typically hits just right of second base. She is also ambidextrous and frequently bunts and slap hits. This is a pretty big purchase and we would like to get it right. Brian
Based on your player's height/weight and the type of hitter you have described, I would recommend going with the 2018 DeMarini CFX -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFS). I think her style of play would benefit from a balanced swing with slightly less weight.
Taylor
My daughter is a line drive hitter with good power. She is 14 years old and 5'7" and 120 lbs. I was thinking the 34" (-10) CFX Insane End Loaded? Mikey
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would recommend a length of fastpitch bat at 33". If you were to get this 2018 DeMarini CFX Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFI), my general suggestion would be for a 33"/23 before the 34"/24 oz size. As well, I would ask the player if she is interested in a bat with an end-loaded feel to it.
Ben
My daughter is 12 years old, 5 ft 140 lbs. Lots of upper body strength. She's a power hitter mostly hitting center or left field. She currently has a CF9 31' -10. Would you recommend Insane or balanced CFX? Also, what size? matty
Based on your daughter's height and weight, a 32 inch model would work the best. As for getting the 2018 DeMarini CFX Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI or the 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP that would really come down to personal preference on what type of swing weight feel a player prefers. Typically, a power hitter benefits more from an end-loaded bat like the Insane as they can generate more barrel whip through the zone.
Cameron
My daughter is 17, 160 lbs, with extremely fast hands and is constantly ahead of the ball. When she does connect, she's a power hitter. Her current bat is a balanced 33/23. Looking into getting her something end loaded to slow the hands down a bit. What is the end load weight, 1/2 oz, 1 oz.? What length/weight would you recommend? Christina Townsend
The 2018 DeMarini CFX Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI will feature roughly a 1/2 ounce end-load weight to it. This is an ideal fit for stronger players who are either power hitters or have quicker hands. As for the length to get, would recommend staying with a 33 inch model.
Cameron
My granddaughter is 13, 5'2" and 100 lbs, really wants the CF9 Insane, which is discontinued, what length would be best for her and is the CFX Insane a good choice, she can be a power hitter at times? Sharon
With the height and weight specifications you provided, we would suggest a 32 inch bat. The 2018 DeMarini CFX Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI would be a good choice as it features a slightly end loaded swing weight recommended for power hitters.
Daveron
Will the end load slow down the bat? scase
End loaded bats are a little more difficult to swing with good bat speed which is why they are recommended for power hitters. If you can handle the top heavy feel and still maintain good bat speed, the extra mass at the point of contact helps add power to the swing.
Kyle J.
Hello my daughter is 9 and is using a demarini cf9 28/17 and is swing so fast and hard that it's crazy. She used my sons end load demarini 29/19 and is still ripping it down 3rd base. She has lots of power and bat speed. I want to get her an end loaded demarini insane but I'm worried that the 31/21 might be to heavy. But I can't find a shorter end loaded bat. Any suggestions. Thanks heath
The best size bat will be depend on your daughter's height and weight. Jumping up to the 2018 DeMarini CFX Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI in a 31'' may be a bit to much for her. However, you can determine the best length for her here: https://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/.
Tori
My daughter is due for a new bat, she is currently using a CF 6 Insane 33 -10. She is 16 yo about 165 lbs; all power hitter last year as she hit 16 hr's. This year only 9 and was wondering if I should go to a different size? She is 5'6" 160 lbs, very hard swing. jim
Per your daughter's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2018 DeMarini CFX Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI in a 33 inch model. Thus we do not see any reason to change the size of her bat unless you feel going down/up one inch would be beneficial for her.
Cameron
I am a lefty. Slapper and power hitter. I am looking into this bat rather than a slapper bat. However, I am not sure if this end-loaded bat will affect my slapping? brooke#20
Unfortunately, I would not have a direct answer to your question. From my experience, it appears that most slap hitters would prefer a balanced bat as opposed to this end-loaded 2018 DeMarini CFX Insane -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFI). However, if you can hit for power and slap hit as well, it might be worth looking to this CFX Insane. I would discuss with your coach on whether this end-loaded bat will be a good bat to purchase or not.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
