Light swing, tons of pop! Cole F. player
Pros: Very balanced, comfortable swing. Balls really jump off the barrel and it has a big sweet spot. Nice grip. Cool looking graphics. Feels like a drop 9 or 10 so you have lots of control. Even better than the 2016 Generations that are also good bats. Nobody else has one.
Cons: I do like smaller knobs that are angled down like the Demarinis, or Axe handles, but this one is fine.
well balanced, great pop! Tony parent
Pros: my son plays 9U Dixie Youth baseball. He is a small 9 year old only 60lbs. He is a decent hitter but this bat helped him make contact with a much higher percentage of balls thrown and increase the distance traveled. I bought him the 29 inch 16oz bat. I thought the lighter bat would have trouble pushing the ball into the outfield but i was wrong. My sons bat speed has increased and the bat has a nice pop to it allowing him to hit the ball further. Great bat for the $.
Cons: Only had it a few days. Is too soon to know if there are any.
Lower than expectations CJC. parent
Pros: Even weighted instead of end weighted help my son go down in drop length/weight ratio. Good grip.
Cons: Not the pop I was expecting. My 12 year old is using it for the step up to Babe Ruth league via Fall Ball. The ball just seems to not spring off the bat. Of course we don't expect it to perform like the previous composite, but it is a huge difference. Also was convinced by reviewing the "new rules" for bats in 2018 that this bat would comply and it does not. It was a waste of money.
Questions and Answers
Have a question about the Mizuno Generation -8 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL17GEN8? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.
My son is 11 years old, 5'3" 105lbs. He is currently using the Catalyst(-12) 2 3/4" 30/18 and has used the Generation 30/20 bat without issue and seems to have better at bats. I was looking at the SL17GEN8 in a 30/22 or 31/23, do you think this is too big of a jump in size? Jeff
