My 10 year old swings 29/19 and loves it Rocky coach

Pros: My 10 year old swings this and loves it. He plays travel ball and the whole team really limes it. After you break it in, which we did in a few days with about 500 cuts, the ball comes off the bat really hard. With any composite bat you have to give it time to break in. It actually broke in a lot quicker than i thought. We went to the field and hit there and then hit balls off of a tee into the net in the backyard. Really good balanced bat for my little man. Another plus for me and especially him is that he hasnt complained once that his hands were stinging when he mis-hit the ball. That is a great thing for these young kids. I read reviews all the time and I hope this one helps you.

Cons: None at this time.

10U 30/20 10usocal parent

Pros: Beautiful Bat... Came from a demarini cf6, Son freaked our when he saw it come out of the package. Sounds great coming off bat. Super long barrel, after 250 or so swings, the ball comes off dangerously fast, genuinely scary; ducking behind L-Screen quickly. The confidence he has at the plate is well worth it. Great value overall, I think a few more will go over this year... socal travel baseball worthy! :)

Cons: Barrel is white, balls leave marks and gets dirty quick

My 9 year old loves it cd parent

Pros: He is using the 29/19. We've had the 2014 Easton Mako and XL, the Combat Maxum 2016 and he has used a lot the DeMarini CF Zen 2016 from friends in the team. He says this the best bat. He loves the pop. I can tell he hits way harder than anything he has used before.

Cons: Had to gamble on it because nobody had it on the team, but it paid off.

Cheater bat of 2017!!! D smith player

Pros: Kid is 5'5' 115 lbs got a 31/21, coming from a composite aluminum bat. This bat increased his power by 50 feet! True balanced weight for the medium size kid and great "pinggg" sound for feedback. The more hits equal more trampoline effect.

Cons: Grip doesn't last long, replaced it with vulcan grips.

Nice bat Lucky to Coach coach

Pros: No vibration, huge barrel and great balance.

Cons: Nice bat but going from the Zen to this the performance is lower. Have been told it needs 300 to 400 swings to break in? we are probably at about 250 but I hope it improves, paint chips easily but hey its a bat I don't care much about looks but after 2 weeks it looks much older already

Great Bat!!! Matt parent

Pros: Balance+Pop=Confidence My son (10 years old) is a travel ball player. He has used Easton and Louisville bats in the past and all of them have their strengths. However, my son never really LOVED them. This spring his coach recommended the Marucci brand to us, he tried it and the rest is history. There have been NO issues with durability so far (12 games & 20+ practices) and the break in period was easy. For my son, the pop is better than the MAKO and feel is superior to the Louisville. If you are looking for a great bat, this is it.

Cons: Everyone will want to borrow it...

My 10 year old loves it!! Martin parent

Pros: A lot of pop! His first hit with this bat was by far the farthest he's hit a ball this year. He was previously using the Easton Mako Beast and wasn't getting a ton of pop out of it. My son loves it!! Seems to have more pop with every hit

Cons: Takes a while to break in, but we did it in about 2 hours over 2 days.

Awesome Bat!!!! Brian parent

Pros: My 11 year old son plays select baseball and was not happy with the new Easton Mako Beast so we made a mid-season switch. The Hex Connect is a GREAT bat (bought the 29/19). Amazing pop. Very balanced. Broke in quickly after 500 swings. Ball shoots off the barrel more consistently than the Mako Beast. My son is SO much more confident at the plate now. Thanks Marucci!

Cons: Absolutely none!

My son has the DeMarini Zen, Easton Mako beast and combat vigor he picks up this bat every time when he hits as well as half of his team he says it does not sting his hands at all and he likes the way it feels better then all of the other bats. Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHCX10? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Why does this bat have 2 pieces? kiki
This 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBHCX10) was designed with a two-piece, all-composite design. For 2017, Marucci wanted to change things up with their all-composite offering and decided to feature this HEX model with the two piece design. There are a number of players that gravitate towards the two piece design because they enjoy the flex feel in the barrel at contact and also like the prevention of vibration that the design provides for a player.
Ben
How does this bat compare with the DeMarini CF Zen 2017? cd
The 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHCX10 and the 2017 DeMarini CF Zen Balanced Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCBZ are both two-piece fully composite bats that will feature balanced swing weights. The 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHCX10 will feature a more balanced swing weight compared to the 2017 DeMarini CF Zen Balanced Senior League Baseball Bat: DXCBZ which should allow the hitter to generate more bat speed through the zone.
Cameron
How is this bat compared to the new Rawlings Quatro or a CF8? My son is a true power hitter. Would you recommend another? He is 11 looking for best power hitter bat. trais
The 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHCX10 will be the most balanced bat out of the three. With that being said, one should be able to get the barrel of this bat through the zone faster and potentially generate more power.
Cameron
We have a 8 year old son that is 51 inches and 54 pounds. We are trying to decide between this bat and the CF Zen 2 3/4. Right now he is using the Combat Maxum 2016 and complains of sting. Which bat do you recommend and what size? Eric C
Both the 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHCX10 and the CF Zen will reduce the sting he feels in his hands since they are two-piece bats. Both are also going to perform similarly, so it comes down to which manufacturer the player prefers or has had success with. I would suggest a 28" size based on his height and weight.
Logan
Can you please compare this bat to the MAKO BEAST senior league drop 10? pete
The 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHCX10 and the 2017 Easton MAKO BEAST -10 with a 2 3/4" barrel are both two-piece fully composite bats with balanced swing weights. These two bats will feature different composite technology and will have differences with respect to balance. The 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHCX10 will be more balanced with the bat weighing roughly 1 ounce more than the listed weight while the MAKO BEAST will weigh in about 1.5 ounces more.
Cameron
Can you please compare this bat to the Demarini CF Zen-CBZ17 Brad
The 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHCX10 and the CF Zen are very comparable, as both are balanced two piece composite bats. It would be up to the player on which he likes better, as performance is similar.
Logan
My son is 13. He's had the CF8 and the CF Zen and he's has cracked them all. Wanting to know if this bat would sort him for power and comfort. Wick
The 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBHCX10) is a great option for power and comfort. It is a very high quality bat and I would highly recommend it.
Carter
Can you get this bat in a 32/22? Wick
Unfortunately, the 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHCX10 is not made in a 32" 22 oz. The biggest size made for this model is a 31" 21 oz.
Jason
I am trying to compare the Marucci Hex Connect, Cat 7, Louisville 917/716 and Mako Beast. Looking for a new bat for my 11 yr old elite player. Similar price points and I am not real familiar with the differences. Baseball Dad
The Marucci Cat 7 is the only bat you listed that is a one-piece, all alloy bat. All the others are two or three piece, all composite bats. All bats are balanced models, so the swing weight should be similar on most of these. The Cat 7 will have the stiffest feel, while the 917 will have the best vibration dampening and best flex. The other bats will fall somewhere between those two.
Kyle J.
Looking at the Marucci Hex and the Adidas Comp bat for an 12 year old in a 30/20. They both look to have similar features but wanted to know about which one had more pop. Jjonesz
The 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHCX10 and the 2017 Adidas Aero Burner Comp -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: AEROBU are going to perform pretty closely to one another, so it really comes down to the player as far as how the bat performs.
Logan
What is the break in period for this bat? Dustin
The 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHCX10 is a composite bat and thus would need a break in period before being game ready. We recommend 150-250 swings off a tee or soft toss at about 60% max effort. After each swing one would want to rotate the barrel a 1/4 turn to allow for even break in across the entirety of the barrel.
Cameron
How does the hex drop 10 compare to the Zen drop 10? josh
The 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBHCX10) is going to feature a 2 piece composite design just like the 2017 DeMarini CF ZEN Senior League Baseball bat does. They are extremely comparable, the Marucci Hex has been a little bit more durable this year.
Carter
Is this bat approved for a USSSA 11u club team? I see that the 2 5/8" model is, but is the 2 3/4" approved too? Jake C
To determine whether the 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHCX10 would be legal for your 11U club team we would recommend consulting with local coaches and/or leagues officials. Vast majority of USSSA leagues will allow the use of the larger 2 3/4" barrel bats but it is always good to check with your local league rules before making a purchase.
Cameron
Looking for a bat for 9 year old travel baseball. Would you recommend this bat over the Marucci Cat 7? crazorback
Both this bat and the Cat 7 are excellent choices. It comes down more to if you want an aluminum or a composite bat. The 2017 Marucci Hex Connect is a two-piece, full composite while the Cat 7 is a one-piece, all aluminum model. The Hex Connect will provide better vibration dampening due to its two-piece design and more flex in the swing, while the one-piece design of the Cat 7 will provide a more stiff feeling during the swing often preferred by power hitters.
Kyle J.
My child is 13 and is in USSSA with the 1.15 regulations. Is this bat allowed? I am pretty certain it is, but it's the word 'Senior' that is throwing me off. We can use 2 3/4" or 2 5/8" barrels. What does Senior league baseball bat mean? jacob baseball
The 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHCX10 is USSSA 1.15 approved. Senior League is just another term to say "big barrel" meaning the bat features a 2 5/8" or 2 3/4" barrel (2 3/4" in this case).
Logan
My son is 5 feet tall, 9 years old, 76 pounds. His coaches say not to go longer than a 28" bat. He currently has a 27" Marucci Hex (green) drop 10. We are looking at the Marucci Hex Connect or the Cat 7. Last season he hit great with his Marucci but we definitely need to get a new bat. What are your suggestions? Thanks! Narley
I would recommend the 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHCX10 in a 29 inch or 30 inch bat length based of the specs you have provided.
Dan
My son is 58 inches tall and weighs about 120. He is 9 and turns 10 in April. What size bat should he swing? Hurt
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 30" bat with a drop 10. With that being said, the 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBHCX10) would be a good bat for your player.
Mick
My son is 10, is 56 inches tall and 75 lbs. What size in a -10 do you recommend? We want the bat to last 2 seasons. CB
Based on your players current height and weight, we suggest a 29" model of the 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHCX10. He is not too far off from the 30" being the suggested length though if you wanted to jump up a size.
Jason
I'm trying to decide between the Hex Connect -10 or the new Cat 7 -10. I know the main difference is one is composite and one is alloy but will one tend of have more "pop" then the other or will they have about the same performance? ph1021
The 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHCX10 and the2018 Marucci CAT 7 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC7X10 will have about the same performance. It really just comes down to the players personal preference for aluminum designs or two piece composite designs.
Carter
My 8 year old has a Marucci MSBF5X10 29/19 and looking at upgrading. He is 52inches tall and weighs 80lbs. Looking at the 2017 Hex Connect -10 29/19 or the new Cat 7. What are your thoughts on these and do you think this is the correct size for him? Will Marucci be releasing a 2018 Hex Connect -10 soon? Wge1
Yes, based on his height and weight a 29"/19 ounce should work well for him! Both the 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHCX10 and the 2018 Marucci CAT 7 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC7X10 are great options. It really just comes down to the players personal preference between the two. The Hex Connect features a two piece composite design while the Cat 7 features a stiffer one piece aluminum design. We do not have any information on future Marucci models unfortunately.
Carter
My son is 12, is 60 inches tall and 100 lbs. What bat in a -10 do you recommend? We would prefer the bat to last him 2 seasons. We are also concerned about vibration. Would you recommend a two piece composite? mngobbler
Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting a 30'' bat. The 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHCX10 is a good choice if you like two-piece bats, since it will help to cut down on the vibration. You will want to double check that he can use the USSSA stamp and does not need the USA stamp.
Tori
My son is 59 inches tall and weighs 91 lbs. He is currently using a 31 drop 12 Easton Typhoon bat, but enjoyed swinging a 30 drop 10 big barrel demo bat at the batting cages. Based on the bat sizing scale on your site, he would be a size 31 bat. What would you recommend? Looking at Marucci
Based off the information you've provided, I would recommend the 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHCX10 in a 30/20. I think the 31/21 will be too big of a jump from the 31/19. However, if you think he can handle the extra weight, he would be able to swing it longer.
Dan
I know the listed weight is -10. But I know sometimes it is heavier than what is listed. What would be the weight of the 28 inch 18 oz bat? Chuck
The 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHCX10 will run about 1 ounce heavier than the listed weight.
Cameron
What bat is better, the Marucci hex connect or the cat 7? Livi
The main difference between the 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHCX10 and the Cat 7 will be that the HexConnect will reduce vibrations because of the two-piece construction while the Cat 7 will be a one-piece alloy bat. Determining which bat is better will come down to player preference, but we have heard excellent things about both models.
Tyler
is this bat end loaded? drip
The 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHCX10 is a balanced option. With the two piece construction, it may feel slightly end loaded to some; however, it is balanced.
Daveron
Is this bat composite or does it have a composite handle with an alloy barrel? Drip
The 2017 Marucci Hex Connect Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBHCX10 is a two-piece fully composite bat.
Cameron
Where can I get a grip that is just like the new one, when we bought this bat. (NP) Jamie
Grip that come pre-applied to bats are generally hard to come by so I would recommend reaching out to Marucci directly at (225) 291-2552 to see if they can help you locate one of those grips.
