Description

This Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat is similar to that of the CAT 5 and CAT 6, only double the power! You are really going to scare some people if you come to the plate with this bat. Marucci has done a fantastic job of upping the ante from year to year and improving on an already masterful design. One of the main differences from last years CAT 6 to this CAT 7 is the new and improved AZ4X Alloy that dramatically improves durability and strength. Additionally, the optimized barrel design is more responsive and offers a sweet spot that is twice as large in comparison to the CAT 6. Through Marucci's engineer's extensive research and consultation with their player advisory board made up of big leaguers, they determined that one of the most common complaints among amateur baseball players is vibration in the hands. The brand-new AV2 Knob, also known as the second generation anti-vibration knob, offers a much better feel and remarkably less vibrational feedback in players' hands. Furthermore, the proven ring-free barrel technology continues to produce unmatched performance with absolutely no 'dead' spots. The combination of these new features results in a traditional, one-piece, all alloy, best balanced, most forgiving, sweetest feeling, and hardest hitting bat available.

The Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC7 features a -10 length to weight ratio, a 2 3/4 inch barrel diameter, and the USSSA 1.15 BPF certification. Also, Marucci is backing this monster of a bat with a full twelve (12) month manufacturer's warranty. Marucci: Honor The Game! Be the talk of the town and make sure to get your own CAT 7 today with fast, free shipping.

Great Bat and Great Service from Justbats.com Unhitchthewagon player

Pros: This bat is very balanced compared to many on the market thus making it swing lighter as well. It's just an ounce over it's stated weight(many other brands are close to 2oz heavier than stated. The last 26" drop 10 bat we picked up weighs almost 18 oz.) My 6 year old son playing coach pitch loves the bat. Looks Great, Feels Great & Performs Great. Ball seems to really launch on solid hits. One thing I noticed when I had another 26" bat standing next to it is although they are the same overall length, the knob on this Cat7 is so wide, you actually lose about a half inch of barrel length. Our first Cat7 Junior dented the first weekend we used it and Justbats.com just sent me a return authorization and swapped it out instead of making me contact Marucci. For that I give Justbats.com 5 Stars as well!! The replacement bat has not dented and has been used by some of the stronger kids on the team-so that's a good sign that maybe we just got a defective unit the first time.

Cons: Had to ding the durability simply because the first one dented in two places. So far the replacement is just fine after several weekends of play.

Great pop, very durable bat! Coach B coach

Pros: The ball flys off the bat. The bat has withstood many rounds of BP (4.5 months) and 25 games of machine pitch. After the other kids saw my son hitting shots with this bat, they all started using it. Each kid who used it improved their distance and pop greatly. The bat is used for machine BP and games. It is very durable with no cracks or dents. The paint is scraped due to so much use but no damage. The grip is thick and soft makes me wish I could use it. The barrel is huge. The aluminum bat makes a high pitch pinging sound that everyone loves. I machine pitch to kids with Eastons, Combats and a TPX... I believe this bat is more solid. When we played in colder weather, the temperature did not effect the bat performance unlike the composite bats. I do recommend kids with small, sensitive hands to get the thick padded batting gloves. But most decent swinging kids will love the pop.

Cons: Love the bat.

Pros: This bat is just what we were looking for. It's the right size for my 7 year old. It sends the ball flying in the outfield, has a great sweet spot. Thanks to the representative for recommending this bat.

Cons: The only negative remarks is why did I wait so long to find this bat.

CAT 7 NOT worth the money Mark_GA parent

Pros: Great grip and low vibration

Cons: extremely thin wall and therefore seems to result in lessor ball pop and reduced ball carry for the money. I tested the Easton Mako Beast composite, CAT 7 and Easton S3. Beast and CAT 7 seemed to be equal. Ball seemed to carry the same distance as the CAT 7 but CAT 7 seemed to have more velocity and therefore rolled farther. S3 for $99 outperformed them both. Wasted my $$ on the more expensive highly marketed bats and should have just stuck with the S3

Bat for 5 Year Old - Machine Pitch Justin Thompson parent

Pros: So far, the kid is swinging it great. We have only hit off the sling machine a hand full of times. It's an ounce heavier than his old bat, but he's getting used to it now. When he hits the sweet spot, the ball FLIES off the bat. Not ONE time has the bat vibrated his hands, so that's a huge plus for me.

Cons: No cons - I should have gotten an ounce lighter, but that's not the bat's fault!

Money well spent Brett D coach

Pros: Our son was very proud when he first saw this bat. It was his first big barrel bat and we could see an immediate difference with contact made compared to the small barrel tball bat he had been using. The ball seems to jump off of the bat well. Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC7? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Is this a coach pitch bat? Can it be used in a 8u kid pitch? lp
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC7 is designed for coach pitch. A Senior League bat is going to be a better option for kid pitch.
Jason
We are in an 8U coach pitch league. Is this a legal bat for Little League coach pitch? john
This 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (MJBBC7) will come with a 2 3/4" barrel diameter to it. If you are playing in the official Little League, then the 2 3/4" barrel bats will not be allowed. However, it would be worth checking with your league to see what the exact bat requirements are for the division.
Ben
My kid is 9. It's his first year in kids pitch. Can this bat be used 9 year old kid pitch? Bj
This is a coach pitch model so it should not be used in kid pitch.
Damon
My son is 7 years old and playing kid pitch travel ball. (1) What are the cons of using this bat with kid pitch? (2) How does the bat compare to a Senior League bat (in regard to performance and durability)? (3) Will there be a -10 Senior League bat available for the CAT 7? Dboy Baseball
(1) This 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (MJBBC7) will be a Junior Big Barrel Bat that is meant for use in coach pitch and machine pitch baseball. The barrel walls are a little thinner and may not be able to hold up to the durability demands of kid pitch baseball (if balls are being thrown over 40-45 mph). (2) A Senior League bat will have walls more built to handle the higher velocity pitching (45+) that is often thrown in kid pitch. However, I think the bats will be able to perform pretty similarly overall. (3) The CAT 7 is not made with a -10 length-to-weight ratio and Senior League certification.
Ben
Is this bat a huge upgrade over the CAT 6? Colby
This 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (MJBBC7) is going to feature some significant improvements in technology over the CAT 6 that I think would characterize it as an upgraded bat. It features new AZ4X Alloy that increases the strength of the barrel and allows for a higher response rate. As well, this bat also features an optimized barrel design to allow for a sweet spot that is twice as large as what is featured on the CAT 6.
Ben
Is this bat a drop 10? Paul
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (MJBBC7) features a -10 Length to Weight Ratio.
Carter
Does the Cat 7 Junior Big Barrel have the same expanded handle base that connects to the knob that the Cat 6 has. The Cat 7 BBCOR seems to have it, but the pictures for this bat seem to show a flat handle at the knob. Tyler
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC7 does not feature the tapered knob. The knob gets more tapered depending on the size of the bat. For example the -8 is more tapered than the Junior Big Barrel, the -5 is more tapered than the -8 and the BBCOR is more tapered than the -5. This is to provide a thicker handle base for the players as they grow.
Jason
My son is going to be in 8U coach pitch. What is the difference between the Cat 7 JBB and the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy? Coach
This 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (MJBBC7) will differ from the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBAHAX10) in regard to the intended use of the bat. This Cat 7 is is only meant for use in coach pitch and machine pitch baseball. The Hex Alloy will be meant for use in kid pitch baseball (technically, it could also be used in coach pitch and machine pitch baseball too).
Ben
My son is 6 and plays coach pitch. I am looking for a bat for him that will help provide more pop. He is a bigger kid but worry about it only being drop 10. How is this bat balanced? Is this a good choice for a 6 yr old? david
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (MJBBC7) is a balanced bat. I would not worry about this being a -10, it is one of the highest rated bats around. This is a great choice for a 6 year old.
Carter
My 8 yr old is about 4'9" and 92 lbs. Would you recommend a 28 or 27 in? He is currently in his last season of coach pitch. Westernok
Based on your son's height and weight we would recommend a 28" Junior Big Barrel Bat.
Carter
What size should I get for my almost 6 year old? I'm not sure on his height but he weighs 55 pounds. I'm hoping it will last about 2 years. josh
A junior big barrel bat like the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC7 is a good fit for those participating in coach pitch leagues. It would be tough to say whether a player would be able to get 2 years out of a bat especially with the new bat rules that will come into affect January 1st, 2018. As for the best fit, without the player's height it would be tough to give an accurate assessment but you may want to consider a 27 inch model.
Cameron
Can this be used for t-ball? Still have 2 more seasons of t-ball but son wants a big barrel. josh
You would have to check with local t-ball league to make sure that they allow 2 3/4" bats.
Kyle J.
I just got the CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel. It says on the bat that it is intended for coach pitch. My son is 7 and playing on an 8u select team. Kids will pitch not the coaches, is there a concern with the bat denting? Can it withstand kid pitching? baseball coach
Ideally you do not want to use the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC7 in kid pitch. The speeds and strength of the players can dent the bats easier than normal. You would be better off going with a Senior League bat for kid pitch.
Jason
My son is 7 years old and his height is 47 inches and he weighs between 45-50 lbs. Please tell me the best bat size to purchase for my son. He's playing in coach pitch this year, and he's a pretty good hitter as this is his 3rd year playing baseball. B
I would suggest 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC7 in the 27" 17oz. size for your player.
Logan
Do they make the Cat 7 in a 2 5/8? Ball mom
Unfortunately, this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (MJBBC7) is not made with a 2 5/8" barrel diameter.
Ben
What is the model # of this bat? johnny
The model number for the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat is MJBBC7. This is a one-piece alloy bat that is designed for players in coach pitch leagues.
Cameron
Is this bat compatible with kid pitch? If not, what bat do you recommend for an 8 year old? Michael
I would not suggest the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC7 for kid pitch. I would look at the senior league bats. Junior Big Barrel are designed for younger players with little velocity on the ball.
Max
My 6 year old plays for Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth league. Will he be allowed to use the Cat 7? Dan
This 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (MJBBC7) features a 2 3/4" barrel diameter which will not be permitted for use in Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth baseball. He would not be able to use this bat.
Ben
Are the 25/15 allowed to be in USSSA coach pitch? Ken
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC7 in the 25'' 15 oz will be legal for USSSA coach pitch.
Max
Does Marucci make custom bats? nick
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC7 cannot be custom made as Marucci does not offer a custom bat builder at this time.
Cameron
What size CAT 7 should a 7 year old boy use? He is 60 pounds and a little over four feet tall. Rich
Given your specifications, I would recommend that he use the 28in. 18oz. 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (MJBBC7)
Tyler
What bat should I get my 7 year old? He is 47' tall and 48 lbs. I'm considering the CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel bat in the 26"/16 oz. or 27"/17 oz. sizes or the new CAT 7 drop 10 (27"/17 oz.). dustin
Based on your player's age, height and weight, I would recommend getting a 27" bat. If your player is playing coach pitch, I would suggest this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (MJBBC7) but if he is playing kid pitch, I would recommend the 2018 Marucci CAT 7 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC7X10). Junior Big Barrel bats (like this MJBBC7) are not meant to hold up hitting balls thrown over 45 mph.
Taylor
Does this bat come with the USSSA stamp that was the old stamp? Hector
Yes, this bat does have the USSSA stamp that was used last year and still is used for travel baseball. It does not have the new USA certification stamp.
Kyle J.
Sammy is playing U6 - he's 6 years old 64 pounds and height 4'1". What do you recommend? Sash
Based on the player's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC7 in a 28 inch model.
Cameron
Can this bat be used in machine pitch with a range of 39-42 mph? Rich
Yes, the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC7 is only intended for use in either coach or machine pitch.
Tyler
I've read that you recommend the senior 27/17 over the junior 27/17 for kid pitch due to is durability. I've read that they are made from the same alloy and was wondering what makes the senior bat more durable? Or what is the difference between the two? Rodney
A Junior Big Barrel bat, like the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC7, will have a thinner barrel wall construction than that of its Senior League counterpart - the 2018 Marucci CAT 7 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC7X10. As a result, the manufacturers recommend only using a Junior Big Barrel bat for coach pitch leagues where the velocity is typically under 40 MPH's. Once the velocity exceeds this threshold, the likelihood of the bat breaking down increases.
Cameron
Would you recommend a shorter 26"/16 oz bat for a child who is approximately 45" tall and weighs 62 lbs? He is turning 8 in one month and plays coach pitch. He has a 28" Easton MAKO previously recommended, but his swing speed has gotten worse. Seems like he cannot control the larger bat as well. He tried a friends 26" Marucci CAT 6 and swung it really well! That seems too short for his age and build. What do you think? JakesMom
Our sizing chart has your son listed at a 27'' 17 in the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC7. The 26'' could the right size for right now, but in the future I would recommend going to a 27''.
Max
My son is 46 pounds and 46 inches tall. Would you recommend 25 inch 15 oz. bat? KSU
Given your player's size, I would recommend the 25" version of this 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC7, assuming he is playing either machine or coach pitch baseball.
Tyler
Would the CAT 7 be good for kid pitch competitive 9u? joe
The 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC7 would be a good option for coach pitch. I would take a look at the 2018 Marucci CAT 7 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC7X10 which would be a great option for kid pitch 9 and under.
Max
My son will be playing 6U and possibly travel this year. I'm looking to maybe purchase this bat but not sure about getting a 25 or 26 oz and I don't want to buy a bat every year, I want something that will last and can be used in 8U. Please assist, thank you! Vendolyn Williams
The 2017 Marucci Cat 7 Junior Big Barrel (MJBBC7) is intended for coach pitch/machine pitch play. If you are wanting something that will last longer, I would suggest looking for a kid pitch bat. These are typically labeled "Senior League" or "Youth Big Barrel". The Marucci Cat 7 -10 Senior League (MSBC7X10) is a good example. I believe you maybe misspoke about the oz, and instead meant 25 or 26" for the length. Bat size varies depending on the player and personal preferences, but if you want something to last longer you would want to go with the larger size so they don't outgrow it as quickly. However, most kid pitch bats are only available in 27" sizes and up.
Kyle J.
My son is around 44 inches and weighs 50 lbs. What size of bat do you recommend? I would like for it to last 2 years if possible. Justin
Per your son's current height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC7 in a 26 inch model. If you are trying to get potentially 2 years out of the bat you may want to consider getting a 27 inch model.
Cameron
What is the difference between the Marucci junior big barrel bats and the senior league when they are made from the same material and have the same drop weight and barrel size? Is the only difference length? If so, does that reduce the durability of the bat; and if yes, why? TJ
Since the Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC7 (intended for coach pitch) is made in smaller sizes, it does lack the durability of the senior league model, which is built for live pitch baseball.
Logan
Is this bat a USA bat? Ben Hulgan
The Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC7 is USSSA approved for travel ball play, not USA approved for league play.
Logan
Is this a USA bat? Ben Hulgan
No, the Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC7 is not USA approved as it features the USSSA/1.15 BPF stamp. At this time, Marucci does not make a USA stamped bat.
Cameron
Is this bat USA approved? I believe our little league rules have changed to all bats must be USA approved. Matthew
The Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC7 will not be USA certified and if your league rules have changed to the new USA standard this bat will not be legal.
Max
Is this bat legal for Texas coach pitch Little League? If not, what stamp do the bats need? Lee Molina
Little League requires bats to feature the USA stamp. Unfortunately the Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC7 would not be legal and at this time Marucci does not produce a USA stamped bat.
Cameron
Could this be used for pitching machine? My son is in little league he’s 8 and I am trying to fine the best option for him. Christina
The Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC7 could be used for a pitching machine, but will not have a USA baseball stamp. If your little league requires a USA baseball stamp the Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC7 will not be legal.
Max
You say its a "coach pitch" bat and not a kid pitch. What's the difference in the two as far as the bat is concerned? Can I use the senior version for coach pitch? Why or why not? brandon dawson
The construction of the Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC7 is not intended to withstand pitching above 40 mph. If this option is used in kid pitch, its durable will come in question. We advise using the senior league option that is constructed to face higher velocity pitching; the Marucci CAT 7 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC7X10 would be the recommended option for kid pitch.
Daveron
Will the ball travel the same distance and with the same velocity after making contact with this bat as it would with a CAT 7 Senior League bat? Vince
With all factors being equal, the ball would travel farther with theMarucci CAT 7 -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBC7X10. The Senior League option will have a heavier true weight and is constructed for player pitch. The Marucci CAT 7 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat: MJBBC7 is a lighter bat that makes it perfect for younger players who are in coach/machine pitch.
Daveron
