Pros: This bat has a great feel. My daughter is continuously hitting the ball over the fence now. This bat has a way larger sweet zone than her previous. The heavier barrel is great for her power swing. We all just love this bat.
Cons: It is a bit pricey. But it is worth it if your daughter is a power swinger. If you are used to a more eaven weighted bat it will take some getting used to.

My daughter is 11 5'8" 170lb power hitter. What size bat would you recommend? Also, we live in Washington where it is usually below 60 degrees. Would this bat be recommended for this weather?
Asked by softball mom
The 2017 DeMarini CF9 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI is an end loaded bat, which is usually preferred by power hitters. Furthermore, it is one of the best softball bats currently on the market. Lastly, we do not recommend using your premium bat (whether it is alloy or composite) in weather colder than 55 degrees because the balls become more dense and can compromise the longevity of your bat.
My daughter is 11 and is 5'1, 120lbs. She has a very strong upper body and has been a good contact hitter but last year added a lot of power. She has used a 30' 19oz bat in the past but I think she needs to go a little heavier. What is the best DeMarini out there for her? Thanks.
Asked by bambino
I would recommend a 32" bat for your player. Unfortunately, the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI is out of stock in a 32 inch. Typically, we see power hitters using end-loaded bats. Furthermore, a solid bat that is designed for power and contact hitters is the 2018 DeMarini CFX -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP which is available in a 32/22.
My daughter is 13 years old and is 6' and 244 lbs. What would you recommend?
Asked by Coop
I would recommend the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI in a 34 inch length. I think the end-load in this bat would pair nicely with your player, especially if she is a power hitter.
My daughter is 14, 5'5" and 140 lbs. She swings pretty hard. What size would you recommend? Would you suggest an end loaded or balanced bat?
Asked by bubba
Based on your player's age, height and weight, I would recommend getting a 33" bat. Choosing between end loaded and balanced bats ultimately comes down to player preference. Power hitters typically prefer end loaded bats (like this 2017 DeMarini CF9 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFI)) while contact hitters typically prefer a more balanced bat.
My Daughter is 14 soon to be 15 and plays in Maryland High School fast pitch softball and we were wondering if this bat is legal for Maryland. She is 5'7 and around 110 pounds. Would this bat be a good fit for her?
Asked by Mike
The 2017 DeMarini CF9 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI should be legal for you to use in the state of Maryland, but I always recommend checking with a coach. I would consider the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI in a 32 or 33 inch bat length.
My daughter is 14 years old, 5’6†tall and 170 lbs. She's interested in the CF9 Insane. Do you recommend the 34"/24 oz or 33"/23 oz or something else completely different?

Based upon your player's height and weight, I would recommend getting this 2017 DeMarini CF9 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFI) in the 34" size.
My daughter is 10 and is 4'7" and 95 lbs. She is a power hitter and currently uses a 2016 LXT -10, 31" 21 oz. We are looking at getting her a new bat, would this bat be a good fit for her?
Asked by P-Nut07
The 2017 DeMarini CF9 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI is an end-loaded model and would not be the best fit for a 10 year old. We would recommend looking into the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP in a 31 inch model. Possibly a -11 model would work best.
My daughter is 5 feet 4 and 110 pounds and plays South Carolina high school ball. She is a contact hitter. What bat can you recommend that will be legal and best for her to use? She is 17 years old!
Asked by clint
The 2017 DeMarini CF9 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI is a great option to use for someone that prefers and end-loaded bat. For someone of her height and weight, a 32 inch model would work the best for her. Another great model would be the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP.
My daughter is a little lightweight 5 feet 92 lbs (age 14). Has pretty good hand speed and loves to play with the big girls. I was looking at the 2017 CF9. Can I have your thoughts on length and weight for this model? Do you have any other recommendations?
Asked by Harvedog
We suggest that she uses a 31" bat. If she wants to go up or down an inch, that is fine as well. The 2017 DeMarini CF9 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFI) is end loaded, therefore it may be hard for a contact hitter to swing. If you want a balanced bat, the 2017 Louisville Slugger XENO Plus Fastpitch Softball Bat (FPXN170) is a great balanced bat.
My daughter is 5'5" and 11 years old. Would you recommend the 31 or 32" bat?
Asked by HMart
It is hard to guess the size she should be swinging without knowing her weight, but typically an 11 year old swing a 31" bat. I would definitely recommend the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFI).

My daughter is in her first year of 14U and is 5'6" 120 lbs. Would you recommend a 33" bat?
Asked by Jhat
Based upon your player's height and weight, we would make a general recommendation of getting this 2017 DeMarini CF9 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFI) in the 33" length. As long as the end-loaded, 23 oz weight can be handled effectively, there should be no issues with the 33" length of this bat for your player.
Would you recommend this bat 21 oz 31" for my 11 yr old daughter; she is 4'11" 78 lbs?

I would recommend the 32" model for the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI. The two-piece composite design is great for contact hitters.
My daughter just turned 13 and is 5'7" and is currently outgrown her DeMarini 31" drop 11. She is a strong hitter and is looking at the CF9 33 drop 10. Do you think that would be a good bat for her?

It is hard to judge without knowing her weight but from what you have told us we would recommend either a 32" or a 33" 2017 DeMarini CF9 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFI) for her.
My daughter is 14, 5'8", 135 lbs and is very much a power hitter heading into high school next year. What's your opinion on the -9 verse -10?
Asked by softball1632
If you believe she can handle the added weight of the -9 with great bat speed, you would see a bit more power off the heavier CF9 as opposed to the -10 2017 DeMarini CF9 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI.
My daughter is currently using the CF8 Insane 33" drop 10 but says she likes the 33" but feels she could go drop 9. Is this an available size?

Yes, the CF9 is available in a 33'' -9. The model is the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFF.
My daughter is 15 years old, 5'5'' and 122 lbs. She is using an LXT, but is now developing more of a power swing. Which bat do you recommend?
Asked by aburrell39503
If you feel that an end-loaded bat will be of benefit for her (for power purposes), I think that this 2017 DeMarini CF9 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFI) would definitely be an option to consider. Based upon her height and weight, I would suggest the Insane in the 33" length as long as she can handle the end-loaded 23 oz weight.
My daughter is 10 years old, 4'10", 134 pounds and currently uses a CF8 30" bat 19 oz. She will be competing in several Class B tournaments this season. She is very strong and needs a longer/heavier bat. What size would you recommend?
Asked by Scott
Based on your daughter's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI in a 32 inch model. With that said, this bat may be too heavy with the 22 ounces.
My 13 year old daughter has been using the 2016 DeMarini CF8 -11, 33" 22 oz. I am looking to get the CF9 Insane, my dilemma is should I go with 32" 22 oz or go up to 33" 23 oz since she has already been swinging a 33" bat? She is 13 yrs old, 5'4",145 lbs. and growing.
Asked by lalo
Based on her height and weight I think she would be able to handle the 33"/23 ounce 2017 DeMarini CF9 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFI) especially because she is still growing.
Does the Insane CF9 come in a balanced feel and -10 length-to-weight ratio?
Asked by Bill
Yes, you can get a balanced version of this 2017 DeMarini CF9 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFI). The balanced version will be the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFP).
My daughter is 16 and 5'5''. She is not a big power hitter, but can drive the ball at times. What advantage does the end loaded bat bring?
Asked by troy
End loaded bats like the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI are best designed for power hitters. The extra weight at the end of the barrel allow them to have more power behind their hits. A contact hitter would be better suited with a balanced bat.
Is there any difference between the 2016 DeMarini CF8 Insane and the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Insane?
Asked by Reggie
The 2017 DeMarini CF9 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI incorporates a different composite barrel technology (Paraflex Composite Barrel) which helps make this bat 22% stronger carbon fibers compared to Paradox+ Composite which was used in the 2016 DeMarini CF8 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat: DXCFI.
Why don't they make this bat in a smaller size like a 30" 20 oz. or 30" 21 oz.?
Asked by Liv
The 2017 DeMarini CF9 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI has an end-loaded swing weight which is typically preferred by power hitters. There is not a high demand for a 30" size in this particular model since the players using end-loaded bats are usually older, taller, and stronger. If you are looking for a 30" 2017 DeMarini CF9, we offer two models that have balanced swing weights. The 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFP is available in a 30" 20 oz. and the 2017 DeMarini CF9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFS is available in a 30" 19 oz.
How does this bat compare to the 2016 Worth 2 Legit?
Asked by crazy softball mom
This 2017 DeMarini CF9 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFI) will come with a two-piece, all-composite design which will be very similar to the design of the Worth 2 Legit. However, the Worth 2 Legit models were balanced in their swing weight while this CF9 Insane is more end-loaded in its swing weight.
Does it need to be broken in?
Asked by Joe
The 2017 DeMarini CF9 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTDXCFI features the Paraflex Composite which drastically reduces the break-in time compared to older composite materials. The bat should perform hot out of the wrapper. However, if you do not feel like it is in peak performance out of the wrapper, it may benefit from 50-100 soft toss swings while rotating the barrel 1/4" after every swing.
How does this bat compare with the 2017 LXT?
Asked by CHRIS
This 2017 DeMarini CF9 Insane Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTDXCFI) will come with a design very similar to the LXT, however, a key difference will exist. This CF9 has a two-piece, all-composite design and a connection point that is specifically designed to dampen vibration that could get down to a player's hands. The LXT has that same type of design, but it will be more balanced in its swing feel while this CF9 is end-loaded.
