Description

TCT Thermo Composite Technology is the key to the MAKO's industry-leading swing speed, massive sweet spot, and pure feel on contact. Not only is the actually length of the barrel longer than most bats in fastpitch softball, but the MAKO's proprietary TCT Thermo Composite allows more of that barrel to reach its maximum flex. That's truly the definition of "sweet spot", and the MAKO offers one of the largest in the world. Bursting onto the scene last year, the CXN ZERO Technology takes this extremely balanced design to the next level. The best hitters in the game know that Confidence = Performance, and by eliminating all vibration on contact, the CXN ZERO allows hitters of all skill levels to Feel The Power!

The MAKO CXN ZERO features a 2 1/4" barrel diameter, -11 length to weight ratio, new HYPERSKIN Performance Grip, and is Approved for Play in ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF. Pros: straight out of wrapper this bat was hot. I have twins who are in 10u and this this bat gets twice the workout. We bought the easton fs1 in a 30" at the same time as this bat and the fs1 is still clean because it dosnt get used. This bat puts confidence in your daughters hands. Its light, has alot of pop, very little vibration and is extremely durable in my opinion. Our mako has roughly taken 2000 hits between the girls and it still pops and pops with only a couole paint chips, so id say its durable. Every girl on our team uses it for bp and at bat in the game and it has produced amazing results for 10u girls.

Cons: The only con is that this is one of, if not, the hardest bats to keep clean. The dirt seems to stick to the bat like glue and it hides the great color scheme.

Pros: So i purchased this bat for my daughter. This was her first year playing softball so i was hesitant to spend this kind of money on a bat this early on, but she was getting a lot better and told us that she definitely wanted to play again next year. That being said she has struggled all year to hit a ball out of the infield. She ha hit just hard ground balls all year. Her first team practice with this bat she hit multiple balls to the outfield. This bat has great pop and a massive sweet spot. It is fairly new so we shall see how durable it is.

Cons: none

This Bat Amy Amber parent

Pros: The bat has a nice design.

Cons: I got this bat in April 2016 and the bat never had good pop. I don't know if it was just a messed up bat or the entire line was this way but I was very disappointed with how much I paid and it was not very well at all.

Pros:

Cons: I bought this bat for my daughter for Christmas, she has only used the bat for 6 months and her coach is saying this bat is "dead" the ball goes absolutely no where. I am very disappointed in Easton the price of this bat was outrageous at Christmas time. Sending it back and hopefully the warranty will cover this.

Easton Mako FP16MK11 IA Softball Dad parent

Pros: Played a few games with the new bat along with batting practices and the bat has a good feel to it. Daughter likes this bat.

Cons: Previous reviews say the bat is hard to keep clean, that's a fact! With just a few games and batting practice, the bat looks like it's 2 years old. Ball marks on the barrel make it look 2 years old instead of 2 weeks old.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton MAKO CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP16MK11? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

How does this bat compare to the DeMarini CF8 Fastpitch Bat WTDXCFS-16 -11oz (2016)? Which bat has more pop right out of the box? How is the durability? John L
Both bats are two-piece composite designs. Both bats are fairly hot out of the wrapper, but the 2016 DeMarini CF8 Fastpitch Softball Bat: DXCFS has no break in period, whereas the 2016 Easton MAKO CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP16MK11 does have a slight break in period of about 50 swings. The durability of both bats are going to be pretty good, both bats will hold up well.
Nick
Is this bat ideal for a contact hitter? breanna
The 2016 Easton MAKO CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP16MK11, and it's two-piece design with balanced swing weight, would make this bat a very good option to consider for someone who is a contact hitter.
Cameron
What is the temperature range that this bat can be used in? P Furey
Ideally you do not want to use the 2016 Easton MAKO CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP16MK11 in temperatures below 55 degrees.
Jason
My daughter is 10 years old, 56-57 inches tall and roughly 105 lbs. Would you recommend a 31"/20 oz or 31"/21 oz MAKO? Or should I be looking at the FS3 at 31"/19 oz or maybe 32"/20 oz? lee
Based upon your player's height and weight, we would make a general recommendation of going with a fastpitch softball bat in the 31" length. Typically, you want to swing the longest and heaviest bat that you can handle effectively. If your player can handle the 21 oz weight of the 31" size of bat, I would recommend looking at the -10 MAKO (FP16MK10) in that size. However, if your player needs something lighter, then I'd recommend looking to this 2016 Easton MAKO CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP16MK11) or the -12 FS3. (If you felt your player was going to grow, then maybe looking into a 32" bat, might be something to consider)
Ben
My daughter is 14, 62 inches tall and weighs 200 lbs. Her coach recommended for her to use a 33 drop 9 end loaded bat. What would be a good choice for her? We were looking at this bat. Lynn
The correct size will be 33 inches. The 2016 Easton MAKO CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP16MK11 is a balanced bat and will not give an end loaded feel. The 2017 Easton Stealth Flex -9 Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP17SF9 will be an end loaded bat that is available in the length and weight you are looking for.
Tori
My daughter is 11, 5'0" tall, and weighs 85 pounds. I am looking at Easton MAKO and DeMarini CF bats. What length and drop would you recommend? What's the big difference between the bats? Erik
Based on her height and weight we would recommend a 31" bat with either a -11 or -10 option. Both the CF series and the 2016 Easton MAKO CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP16MK11) are very good options. They are very similar bats.
Carter
My daughter is a freshman in high school. She is a lefty, 5'6" and 118 lbs. What size would you recommend? Bubbles
For your daughter's height and weight, we recommend a 32" bat length.
Angelique
What size for a 111 pound, 5'3" girl? Amadrid
Based on your height and weight we would recommend a 32"/21oz 2016 Easton MAKO CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP16MK11).
Carter
How does this bat compare to the 2015 FS1 -11? mikem
The 2016 Easton MAKO CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP16MK11 features TCT composite that is slightly enhanced in regards to durability and performance compared to the IMX composite of the 2015 Easton FS1 ZERO -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP15S111. The 2016 MAKO also has a HYPERSKIN grip that is more tacky and softer than the performance diamond grip of the 2015 FS1.
Angelique
My daughter is 10 years old, 4'7" and 97 lbs. She has been using a 30"/19 oz bat and swings it well. Is this the appropriate size for her? Beisball1969
Based upon your player's height and weight, you guys could probably start to think about looking to a 31"/20 oz size of this 2016 Easton MAKO CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP16MK11). As long as you feel she is ready to move up from the 30"/19 oz size of bat, I would recommend the 31"/20 oz size of this bat pretty highly.
Ben
Is this a good bat for college level softball? girlie45
Yes, the 2016 Easton MAKO CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP16MK11) would definitely be a good option for a college softball player.
Carter
How does this bat compare to the 2017 Easton Stealth Flex? SoftballDad
The main differences between the 2016 Easton MAKO CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP16MK11 and the 2017 Easton Stealth Flex -11 Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP17SF11 are the composite readiness (the 2017 model will be hot out of the wrapper) and the new Flex Technology (connection point) which gives the Stealth slightly more pop.
Cameron
Is this bat legal in little league softball? angels27
Yes, the 2016 Easton MAKO CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP16MK11 is legal for ASA and USSSA, so it would be legal in little league.
Tori
Would you recommend the MAKO over the 2017 DeMarini Vendetta? Softball Dad
Both the 2016 Easton MAKO CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP16MK11 and the DeMarini Vendetta are good bats to consider. Customer reviews show that both of these bats were good in terms of performance and durability.
Cameron
Hi I'm trying to decide what size of bat to buy my 10 year old daughter. She is 4'7" and 65lbs. I'm looking at a Mako -11. Thanks! softball mom
Based on your players height and weight, we suggest a 30" model in the 2016 Easton MAKO CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP16MK11. You could go up to the 31" if you were comfortable with the slightly bigger size.
