Pros: I was breaking in this bat during bp and it still had amazing pop! I hit 2 homers 200 plus feet. Now that I have finally broke it in. I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE HAPPY! The ball is flying off the bat and for the one piece composite the vibration is not bad at all! Can't wait to use this bat in 12 u tournaments!
Pros: I bought this bat sceptical of mivung to a drop 8. My son can't even tell the difference and us still pulling ti left field. I bought the 30/22 and he us barely 80lbs soaking wet. 5'1". had the maxum and loved it. but for this price the try was obvious. Very impressed.
Cons: none yet. other then buy two at this price before they are gone.
Pros: Balanced, huge sweet spot, ugly but thats a good thing!
12yr old son was swinging a -10 for a while. Hes a strong kid so we bought this -8 2016 model at a ridiculous price. Hit BP a few times and used it in a tournament. BOMB to straight center. Everyone asks to see the bat because its not the best looking bat but man does it perform!

Are these new bats?
Asked by Marcus
Yes, we currently only have new options available for the 2016 COMBAT VIGOR -8 Senior League Baseball Bat: VIGSL108.
Do you have a 30" 22 oz available? If so, at what price and how can I order it? I only see 31 and 32", drop 8's on you web site.
Asked by DJB
Unfortunately, we have sold out of the 30" version of the 2016 COMBAT VIGOR -8 Senior League Baseball Bat: VIGSL108. Since this is an older model and discontinued we are unable to get anymore of them back in stock.
What are the differences as far as balance and barrel construction between the Vigor and the Maxum? Is the Vigor more end loaded than the Maxum? My son is a tall 10u 5'2" and 90 lbs. He has a 2016 Maxum 30 -10 that has gotten to feel too light for him so he currently swings a 31 -10 Easton S3 that he loves. We are just looking for the pop that the composites can offer.
Asked by rl
The Combat Maxum will have a larger sweet spot and be more balanced. The vigor will have a smaller sweet spot and more end loaded.
My son is 12 years old, 5'0" tall and about 110-115 lbs. Would you recommend a 31"/23 oz size?
Asked by baseball-life
Based upon your player's height and weight, we would make a general recommendation of getting this 2016 COMBAT VIGOR -8 Senior League Baseball Bat (VIGSL108) in the 30" length as long as the 22 oz weight works for him. However, if he is ready for the larger 31"/23 oz size in your opinion, it would be okay to go with that size of bat.
My boy is 5'7" and 150 lbs. This is his first year of travel ball (playing 13U). I'm looking at a drop 8. Would a 31"/23 oz be a good fit for him?
Asked by t-man
Based upon your player's height and weight, I am actually thinking that he may be able to use a bat with a 32" length. I might recommend taking a look at this in the 32"/24 oz size if you think he can handle the extra length and weight.

Asked by Stinging Hands
The grip adds roughly 1/8" to 1/4" of thickness.
Is it okay to use total control balls and batting machine balls with this bat?
Asked by Coach Batty
Since total control and the rubber machine balls will be denser than regular baseballs, I would recommend against using those types of balls with this 2016 COMBAT VIGOR -8 Senior League Baseball Bat (VIGSL108) if you are planning to use this Vigor as your game bat. If a bat (or any bat out there) is used consistently with those denser balls, it will break down and become defective. The only situation where I would recommend to use this bat with those balls, is if you are using this VIGOR strictly as a practice bat.
Should I be concerned with durability for a one piece composite bat? I am worried about whip of the bat during swing as well as bat going "dead" in a short time. What is your response to these questions?

A one-piece composite, such as the 2016 COMBAT VIGOR -8 Senior League Baseball Bat: VIGSL108, isn't any less durable than a two-piece composite bat from what we've experienced.

Can you compare this to the DeMarini CF6 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFR) that is also a -8. Balance? Weight distribution? Materials?
Asked by NJ
The 2016 COMBAT VIGOR -8 Senior League Baseball Bat (VIGSL108) and the DeMarini CF6 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFR) are both comparable in terms of material. The main difference would be the style. The CF6 is a two-piece while the Vigor is a one-piece. The balance on them should also be fairly comparable.
Typically one-piece bats are stiffer and preferred by power hitters. Two-piece bats have more flex and are usually preferred by contact hitters, but this is not always the case. Two-piece designs also have a bit more sting and vibration protection built into the design.

For those players that love COMBAT - the VIGOR fits right in with all of their classic, limit-testing one-piece composite designs but totes a price tag that's under $200! For those of you that have never experienced the COMBAT difference, here is what you can expect: a swing weight that is right on point, and a sweet spot that's almost not even fair. It all starts with COMBAT's exclusive Precision Molding and Seamless Construction technologies! Precision Molding Technology means outer and inner barrel diameters are created with computer-controlled tooling for accuracy and precision control. This results in the optimized performance and the Seamless Construction extends the durability of this top of the line bat. If you didn't know just from seeing "COMBAT" on the barrel, this combo gives you one of the biggest sweet spots in the Youth bat market. The 100% composite, one-piece VIGOR utilizes COMBAT's single wall construction with Variable Stiffness profile. This calculated inner-wall profile allows the barrel walls to reach optimal compression on contact to maximize trampoline effect and distance on every swing. And the traditional one-piece design provides essential feedback, so you'll know when you've squared-one up or just missed the chance for a 4-base trot. Plus, the new VIGOR features the extremely popular Ultra-Premium Lizard Skin grip! This elite-level composite bat is perfect for a wide range of hitters and experience levels with it's extremely balanced swing weight and stiff flex on contact.
