Description

Last season, a revolution continued with RIP-IT's AIR Technology to BBCOR bats. That revolution was built on SPEED, BALANCE, and POWER. Now, RIP-IT has further perfected this design. Now made from R3 Alloy, the one-piece BBCOR AIR features RIP-IT's Rifle Barrel Technology. This technological advancement removes weight from the barrel without reducing the overall wall thickness of the bat - keeping durability intact. This is achieved by cutting precise grooves inside the barrel, resulting in dramatically lower M.O.I. nd increasing bat speed. The BBCOR AIR also features an Acoustic Barrel design that channels and amplifies specific performance frequencies to give players a beautiful "ping" sound when good contact is made. Down towards the handle you'll find a Contact Grip that is designed for incredible vibration reduction and extreme durability. RIP-IT is so confident that you'll love this bat, they're offering a 30 Day Love It or Return It performance guarantee. If you don't love your new BBCOR AIR, simply send it back to RIP-IT within 30 days for a full refund. You've got nothing to lose. RIP-IT: Speed Matters! This bat is BBCOR Certified and legal for high school and collegiate play. It is backed by a Full 400 Day Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros And Cons of the Rip-It BBCOR AIR Bat Luke Dutta player

Pros: - doesn't sting too much when ball is hit off of the end of the bat - feels good when ball is hit - doesn't feel extremely heavy - end of handle is tapered, makes evens out the weight of the bat

Cons: - cap of the bat is plastic (a friend of mine broke part of the cap during his first hitting session, but this isn't a huge problem

Big fan of this bat Chris Boroch player

Pros: I was a big advocate of the 2014 model, and the 2015 model doesn't disappoint. The general feel of the bat is especially what keeps me loyal to it and all other Rip-It's. Nothing gives me more confidence than stepping into the box with the Rip-It AIR and knowing I can turn around whatever that pitcher's best pitch is. That confident feeling combined with the pop and grip it has makes it the best bat option out there. HIGHLY recommend.

Best bbcor my son has used J. Garcia parent

Pros: This bat is very balanced, feels lighter than what it really is makes it really quick to turn on whatever pitch is thrown. First game my son used it, he went yard dead center. So it's a good bat for power and contact hitters alike. Nice grip also.

Cons: I wish we would have tried it sooner!

Disappointed SandShark player

Pros: The only good thing about this bat is it's a Rip-It

Cons: I'm a huge Rip-It fan, but this bat is a big disappointment. There's no pop to speak of, the sweet spot is just about nil and vibration is an issue. I've used just about every Rip-It there is and have always loved the bats, but this bat just isn't up to snuff compared to Rip-It's other offers. I suspect that's why this bat is available at huge discounts. I would suggest skipping this bat and going to the Helium, but know the Helium leans a bit to the end loaded line of bats and swings heavier than the usually balanced Rip-It bats.

Brian

Pros: 34/31 BBCOR Air. Im 6' 200#s 3-4-5 type hitter. The reason I got this bat was too have a more durable option for batting cages. I really enjoy swinging wood bats. I wanted a metal bat that was similar to my 34/31 Baum Bat. It seems the air is more endloaded than the Baum Bat...but its close. Definately not an endloaded bat by any means. The taper is stiff...good for me I find 2 piece bats don't fit my swing type at all. I lose distance with 2 piece bats. The barrel is soft if that makes any sense. That will take some getting used too. I have recently started to practice hitting lefty. So this is what I do. 2 rounds in 80 right 2 rounds in 75 lefty. I did that set three times total. The bat held up just fine. Mind you I'm not hitting it on the screws consistently lefty. So durability wise so far so good. The exit speed doesn't seem as good as my Baum Bat. The sweet spot is definately big though.

Cons: None really right now. I hit often in the batting cage so if this bat lasts more than a month I'll be pretty happy. If it makes it to spring I'll be ecstatic. I'm not gonna lie I plan on hitting the snot out of this bat.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat: B1503A? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

What is the difference between this one and the RIP-IT AIR Elite? Also, which one is better for contact and which one is better for power? Jared
Both the 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) and the AIR Elite models feature a balanced swing weight, which is generally preferred by contact hitters. The main difference between the two models is that the RIP-IT AIR is a one-piece fully alloy design, whereas the AIR Elite is a two-piece hybrid with an alloy barrel and composite handle.
Tessa
Even though the RIP-IT AIR and AIR Elite are more for contact hitters, can a power hitter still use it? Which one will be better for a power hitter? baseball5
The 2015 RIP-IT AIR (B1503A) and the RIP-IT AIR Elite are considered to be for contact hitters because they are balanced models. The RIP-IT AIR would be the best choice for a power hitter because it is a one piece design. A one piece design will have a stiffer feel which is preferred by power hitters.
Kelby
What is the difference between the 2015 and 2014 AIR model? tommy
The 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) is constructed from the new R3 Alloy while the 2014 model was made from R2 Alloy. R3 Alloy improves the durability, performance, and swing speeds the bat can create.
Mac
Which RIP-IT bat is the most balanced? Which has the largest sweet spot and/or barrel? Gary
The 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) and the 2015 RIP-IT AIR Elite would be the best at covering both of those areas for you. The AIR will be fully alloy and feel very light weight. The AIR Elite will have a composite handle and an alloy barrel, while giving you the same light weight feel. Both will have the same size sweet spot and same pop.
Brandon
What would you recommend for a power/average hitter. I hit cleanup and lead the team in Home-runs and batting average. Which one do you think would best fit my style? Dc27
Typically, we recommend one-piece models for more power oriented hitters. This is due to the fact that one-piece bats will have less flex through the zone. Many power hitters prefer an end-loaded model as well. The 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) will be ideal for a power-oriented hitter, as it features the high-grade R3 Alloy for top performance out of the box. Additionally, it offers a contact grip for vibration and shock elimination as well as a tapered rifle barrel for low M.O.I.
Joe
Which bat will have more power, the Rawlings Velo or the Rip- It Air? Ted
The 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) and the 2015 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRVB) will both feature a single piece full alloy design. In terms of swing weight, the VELO is more balanced, however the performance will be very similar.
Joe
What performance differences might my son appreciate between the RIP-IT Air BBCOR (not Elite) and the Marucci CAT 6? Barrel length or size of sweet spot? They seem to me a similar design that would appeal to similar hitters. Am I right? John
The 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) and the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) are both going to be very similar bats. The CAT 6 has a slightly longer sweet spot, but only by a slight margin. The CAT 6 also feels a little heavier in the hand.
Jake
I am a contact and power hitter, would this bat be good for me? jrod
The 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) is going to be a balanced bat designed for a contact hitter.
Frankie
Will this bat last long and is it end loaded? Gabriel
The 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) is a very durable bat and will feature a balanced swing weight.
Tom
Would this feature a balanced swing weight, but still be a good option for a power hitter? jrod
The 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) will feature an extremely balanced swing weight which is preferred by power hitters and contact hitters alike. The single-piece design of the RIP-IT AIR will allow it to have a stiff feel at contact which is often a request of power hitters (they sometimes feel that their power can be lost in the flex created in two-piece bats). Overall, the AIR would be an excellent option for a power hitter that wants a balanced swinging bat!
Ben
Is this a balanced bat and would it be good for contact hitters in general? Also, does it have a skinny handle? joe
The 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) is going to be a very balanced bat that will be great for contact hitters. The handle has a normal thickness.
Frankie
Will this bat need a time to be broken in or will it be game ready? Randy
The 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) is an alloy barrel model that will not require any break-in period. Only composite barrel bats will benefit from a break-in process.
Patrick
How does this compare with the Marucci Cat 6, Rawlings Velo, and Easton S3Z? Scott
The 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A), 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614), 2015 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRVB), and 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) all compare extremely well. They have similar balanced, single-piece alloy designs with great performance and durability. Preference may come down to style or brand preference due to their similarity.
Patrick
How does this compare to the Rip-It Prototype? Which is better? kyle
Both the 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) and the RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) are nice options, they just have different feels. The Prototype is more end-loaded while the AIR is balanced. The preference would come down to which feel you like better.
Patrick
In general, what bat would you recommend for a 6" 180 lbs power hitter? What size? Rocketman
For a 6'0 180 lbs player, I would recommend going using a 33" bat. The 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) is a one-piece designed bat that features a balanced swing weight, which is designed for both contact and power hitters. However, the RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) features a slight end-load, which makes this bat more ideal for a power hitter.
Liz
How does this compare to the Rawlings 5150? Which is better? puffy
The 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) and the Rawlings 5150 are very similar, both are one piece alloy, balanced designs. I would not say one of these bats is better than the other, I would say it is more personal preference.
Frankie
I just bought my son, who is 6 feet tall 145 pounds and 13 years old, a Rawlings 5150 BBCOR 33 inch 30 ounce. I am tempted to buy him this one to try anyway but I want to know, if he tries it and does not like it, I get my all my money back? It looks like a great bat. What are your thoughts? Dstone
The 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) is a great design and does come with a 30 day "Love It or Return It" guarantee that allows you to use the bat within 30 days of your purchase and if you do not feel like it is the right bat for you, you can return it for a full refund or exchange credit.
Patrick
I am 5 foot 8 and weigh 120 pounds. I am trying to decide between this bat and the Marucci One. I am a fast runner, not much of a power hitter. I focus more on contact and bat speed. Which would you recomend, this RIP-IT model or the Marucci One? jake
The 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) has a bit better balance than the Marucci ONE BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCB1) so I would lean toward it for your style of play but it would be very close as they are very similar.
Patrick
My son has always used Easton. How does the Rip-It Air (2015) compare to the Easton S1 (2014) and Easton S3Z (2015) in terms of barrel length, which is more balanced, and control through swing? Also, if there is a thud sound from the S1 does that mean it is broken and does Easton repair it? Joe
The Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S1) is a composite barrel model that will have more of a thud or crack sound to it normally. Unless you are noticing a significant reduction in performance, I would not think the sound would indicate any damage. It is not really possible to compare the S1 which is a two-piece composite model to two single-piece alloy bats like the 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) or the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) because they are so different by design. The S3Z and Rip-It AIR compare extremely well in all of those categories and the preference would ultimately come down to style or brand preference.
Patrick
How does the 2015 Rip-It Air compare to the Rip-It Prototype? I am 5 foot 7 and weigh 140 pounds. Which bat should I get? JD5908
The 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) is a more balanced bat with a lighter swing weight than the RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) which is more end-loaded by design. The preference between the two would come down to which feel you personally like.
Patrick
Which bat is better, the Rip It Air or Rip It Prototype? I am 5 foot 4 and about 140 pounds. ysleta ball
Both the 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) and the RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) are nice options. The preference would come down to whether you like a balanced or an end-loaded feel. The Prototype is more end-loaded which makes it a bit tougher to swing and usually more preferred by power hitter. The AIR is more balanced which makes it a lighter swing.
Patrick
How does the rip it Element Two compare with the RIP IT model 1403A and the 1503A? I am trying to decide on a new bat for my son he is a contact hitter, and he is currently hitting with a RIP It model 1303b I think and we have heard so many great things about the 1403 A RIP It Air but now there are 2 newer RIP It bats but are the newer RIP It bats better than the 2014 RIP it bat as far as balance swing and size of sweet spot, if you had to choose between the 3 RIP IT bats 1403A, 1503A, and the new Rip It Element Two which would be the best bat for a 1,2,or 3 spot hitter and why ? Please go into details concerning the MOI and other factors, and what is better a lower or higher MOI. Thank You Will
All three of the RIP-IT bats are great options. The differences between the RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) from the 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) is the later was designed with a balance swing weight (the other is slightly end-loaded) & is made from R3 alloy which is going to perform better than the R1 alloy in the Prototype. The 2016 RIP-IT Element TWO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BAC) is made of R4 alloy and has a two-piece design to allow for more balance over the previous two. If I were to rank the MOI's of each from lowest to highest, I'd say Element, Air, & Prototype. With that being said, a contact type hitter will prefer the Element over the Air or Prototype for the balanced swing-weight and the lower MOI.
Cameron
I am 6 foot 1 and weigh 160 pounds. What size bat should I use? reek
Based on height and weight, we would recommend a 33 inch size of the 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A).
Patrick
I am 140 lbs, and 5'5". What size and weight bat do you recommend? I am in the BBCOR league, and looking for a bat to get for Christmas. jwes2699
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 31" model in the 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat: B1503A.
Jason
Is the 2015 Rip-it Air an end loaded bat or balanced? ba
This 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) will come with a balanced swing weight.
Ben
Is this bat good for a power hitter? Cuffbaseball
The 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat: B1503A is going to be recommended more towards a contact hitter due to its balanced swing weight.
Cooper
How long would you say this bat would last? baseballislife_14
It is really impossible to say how long the RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat: B1503A or any other bat will last. Factors that lead to durability issues include: weather (colder weather can decrease lifespan of bat quicker), usage (if using one bat for games, practices, BP, multiple teammates, lessons, etc the alloy design of the RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat: B1503A will decrease quicker), point of contact (off-centered hits can lead to end cap issues as well as denting) and if you use bat to hit other items (yellow dimple balls that batting cages feature are weighted differently and can cause a bat to dent or crack).
Cameron
I'm 6'6'' and about 320 lbs. At this point, I only use 34'' or above bats. I'm torn between this bat and the BBCOR Vapor by Louisville Slugger. The Rip-II Air comes in 34'', so does the Vapor, just not on your site. Now, I certainly am not a lead-off/contact hitter, but then again I don't go deep every time. I'm somewhere in the middle but more of a power hitter. I've previously been a TPX guy, having a z-1000 then an Exogrid 3, but I don't exactly have it in the budget for something in that price range. So which would better sit my needs of hitting it hard every time but not classifying myself as power or contact? I just want a good bat, I'll handle the rest. 30NoahSQ
There are going to be many possible options for you in the 34 inch BBCOR category that will feature a feasible price point, like the RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat: B1503A. A bat that will feature a balanced swing weight would work best for you. You can locate this information in the bat features section on our website.
Cameron
How does this bat compare to the 2015 Rip-it Helium? Which would you recommend for a contact hitter? Austin
The RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) is going to be a more traditional one-piece alloy bat whereas the Helium is going to be a five-piece alloy bat. Additionally the Helium's barrel is compressed with Helium gas which allows for a lower MOI and lighter swing weight than the RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A).
