Pros: Super hot bat

Cons: Broke after 50 hits. Not even close to being worth the money if it breaks before one tourney is over

Pros: I hate leaving reviews or using the term hot out of the wrapper but this bat is just that. I was so overwhelmed by the feel, power and carry of this bat I needed to share an honest and non-bias review. In my first three swings even on my bat I hit 320,330 and 335 ft. my first three at bats and them screaming line drives that carry all in the rain and 55 degree weather. Amazing feel and ball pops off the bat with no vibration. I do not know why I left Eaton bats, but I am back and this bat performed so well that it is now the team bat. My teammates could not get over the feel and power this bat produces. I cannot wait to use this bat in warm weather and in tournaments. I have been playing high level tournaments and in the California Gold Coast league and for over 20 years and by far this is the best bat I have ever owned, perfect balance and amazing sweet spot. The grip on the bat is amazing as well.

Cons: It is a little expensive and there is some fear that this bat will crack like I have read in other reviews.

Pro

Pros: Looks sweet, nice grip, swings nice.

Cons: Not nearly the pop like my Helmer synergy 98 has. probably a couple hundred hits on the bat and there are little cracks all the way down one side of the barrell. I really like the swing-feel but it's not nearly as hot as i hoped..maybe needs more break in time?...anyone have comments / suggestions....? Considering returning it for the new Helmer synergy...

Pros: Bat has a great sweet spot. Ball feels awesome off the bat. After about 50-100 swings I went yard.

Cons: Eastons usually take a little bit longer to break in. Once broken in, bat is hot!

Pros: Just cranked 2 home runs and two triples tonight with this bat. It's hot! Smokin hot! Phil 4:13 "For I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength."

Cons: None. Because just being able to have a bat and a free country to play softball in is a blessing. Go USA!

Pros: Again, this Bat Rocks!!! In 2 games tonight it hit 4 homeruns. 5-5 in game #1 with 3 straight homeruns and a double and a single and in Game #2 1 monster homerun and a warning track sac fly but that was my fault for not positioning my feet right. Bottom line is that this bat can flat out crush!!!

Cons: The only con I can tell at this point is that the season is coming closer to ending and the green monster will have to rest for the winter.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton Stealth 98 Slow Pitch Softball Bat: SP12ST98? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

I play mens modified and in an arc pitch league, with my emphasis on the modified. I'm more of a doubles hitter than a power hitter and normally don't use such a long barrel. Last year i used the salvo at 27 oz and would go to a 26 when needed. What weight would you recommend for this? BTW i'm 5'11, 170. Thanks Justice
The SP12ST98 will be a pretty balanced bat. It does have a long, 13.5 inch barrel. The Salvo does have a slight end load. With that being said, I think you'll be just fine with a 27 ounce model in the new Easton Stealth 98.
Tyler
Is this more like the ssr2 or ssr4? ak
Unlike the SSR2 (2011 model) or SSR4 (2012 model), the SP12ST98 features a new Black Carbon Composite handle. This feature drastically improves the feel of the bat and eliminates vibration. The SSR2 and SSR4 were very comparable to each other and the new SP12ST98 is similar to both, with the exception of the new composite technology in the handle.
Tyler
I don't see the ASA stamp on the bat. Is it by the NSA stamp? ralph
The ASA stamp is above the NSA stamp. This bat will be approved for ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF.
Kris
Will they come out with an endloaded 2013, 98? 3
As of 4/3/2012 Easton is not producing any Easton Stealth 98 with an end load feel. This Stealth 98 will only feature an evenly balanced swing weight.

Tyler
Is this bat similar to the Easton sp12sy98? rowdy
Yes and no. Both are high end slow pitch bats and constructed from the same composite. Difference being... The Stealth is a two piece bat, the Synergy is a one piece bat.
Tyler

I'm about 5"8 140..line drive hitter, not a power hitter.Do you think the 27 oz would suit me? ike
The 2013 Easton Stealth 98 is a balanced bat, perfect for a line drive hitter. A 27 oz would be a suitable size for you.
Kara
How many balls does it takes to be break-in? Justin
We recommend taking between 150-200 hits either off of a tee or soft toss, starting at about 40% power and gradually increasing the closer you get to the 200 hit mark. Also, make sure you rotate the barrel in between each hit and use the same balls you would normally use in a game.
Jennifer

The 2013 Easton Stealth 98 has the 2013 USSSA stamp.
Kara
I have the 28oz synergy flex now I think 08? It's the grey barrel bat. I am a warning track hitter at 300 ft and put them over every now and then. Will the new 2013 stealth 98 help with distance over current bat? I was also thinking using 27 to help with bat speed. Ian
The 2013 Easton Stealth 98 uses top of the composite material for incredible bounce and a balanced feel.
Kara
I can not decide if I should buy a one-piece or two-piece bat. Does this two-piece bats hit as far as the 2013 one-piece Easton Synergy bat? Is it as durable? Matt
A two-piece bat will have some flex to help increase your swing speed. Contact and line drive hitters tend to prefer two-piece bats, whereas power hitters prefer one-piece bats.
Damon
I'm 6ft 175lbs which weight bat would you recommend? Also which model and weight bat do you recommend for adult females to start out with? new yorks nick
We recommend a 34" 28 oz 2013 Easton Stealth 98. Adult females usually prefer a 26 oz in a balanced bat.
Kara
I've read a few reviews about the bat getting some cracks in it from use. Is this common in this bat? Will these cracks effect the bat's performance? Can it be prevented? Does the weather temperature have any effect on this? Geek86
Based on the number of units sold, the 2013 Easton Stealth 98: SP12ST98 Slow Pitch bat actually has above average durability. If a composite bat cracks, it will effect it's performance, but this is something that will be covered under warranty through Easton. There is nothing that can really prevent cracks in composite slow pitch bats. Be sure to limit how much you use this bat when it's colder than 55 or 60 degrees.
