DC41 REVIEW Mike player

Pros: All I can say is WOW. The barrel is long and the pop is next level. I definitely feel the end load, which is nice, and I'm hitting more home runs than ever before.

Cons: Not a huge fan of the highlighter orange graphics, but it's all good.

This bat is LEGIT Jacob B player

Pros: Guys... If you have any hesitancy at all... wipe that nonsense away. This is the bat to best all other bats. For the price, it drives right out of the wrapper (I actually took about 30 swings with the plastic on and shredded it, still had monster pop). Break in time was almost 0. Hittin dingers has never been so fun

Bat broke in 2 weeks BostonJay player

Pros: The bat felt great, all end weight and the look of the bat was nice.

Cons: The bat broke 2 weeks in with only a few people using it. I got 4 games out of it. Also, the grip was coming undone in a very short amount of time. As someone that has purchased dozens of bats in the past 20 years, I am very dissapointed.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Miken DC-41 SuperMax USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MDC17U? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Does this come in a balanced weight? If not, can you recommend a bat that is comparable? I'm currently using the Miken Ultra II 100% composite, balanced, 1.21 bpf and they don't make it any longer. Joni
The 2018 Miken Freak 20th Anniversary Balanced USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MF20BU is going to be the most comparable option to the 2018 Miken DC-41 SuperMax USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MDC17U that will feature a balanced swing weight.
Carter
New to slow pitch, and I'm having trouble selecting a good bat. Some say to stay away from composite just to be safe, because there is a banned list. Others tell me that I just need to make sure there is an ASA stamp. Could I use this bat, or are all composite bats for Seniors only? Thanks! Slow Pitch Newby
Composite bats can be used in any league as long as it has the necessary certification stamps. The two main certification stamps are ASA or USSSA, and bats will typically carry one or the other. This 2018 Miken DC-41 Supermax has the USSSA stamp as indicated in the title, so if your league requires that stamp this bat will be legal for use.
Kyle J.
Is this ASA approved? If not, is there a ASA model? Smalls03
The 2018 Miken DC-41 SuperMax USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MDC17U is USSSA approved, not approved for play in ASA leagues. The ASA model would be 2018 Miken DC-41 SuperMax ASA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MDC17A.
Logan
When getting a bat from Miken that's a USSSA 28oz Supermax with a full one oz end load, will it swing like a 28 oz or heavier, like a 30 oz? Asking about the 2018 Miken DC41 Supermax USSSA MDC17U cause I really like the 30 oz. Just wondering if the 30 oz is actually a 30 oz or will it swing heavier? Goob
End loaded models will swing heavier, yes. A rough estimate is that a bat would have a swing weight of a model 1 oz heavier if it has a full 1 oz end load, so a 28 oz model would probably swing closer to like a 29 oz.
Kyle J.
Which bat is a better investment in the long run, MDC17U or SPSYMU? I'm having a tough time debating on which one to get. AndrewC
These are both top of the line, high performing USSSA aproved bats with full ounce end loads, so it would really just come down to your preference of one piece vs. two piece design. The 2018 Miken DC-41 SuperMax USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MDC17U has been our more popular model between the two, and offers more flex on impact with less vibration. The Miken Izzy Psycho SuperMax USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: SPSYMU offers half an inch more barrel length, and is much more stiff due to the one piece construction.
Logan
I play mostly WSL and ISA leagues. Is this bat good for both? Daniel Gentry
This 2018 Miken DC-41 SuperMax USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat (MDC17U) does feature ISA certification and would be fine for use in an ISA league. However, I am not sure about the requirements for a bat in a WSL league. I would reach out to the league for an exact explanation on what is required for a softball bat in a WSL league.
Ben
I'm 61 years old, 5'7", 156 lbs., and work out four to five days a week. Just getting back into slow pitch. What bat would you recommend? I've been practicing with a DC-41 Supermax that was loaned to me. gstring120
It is tough to make a direct recommendation for you, but I would say that if you have enjoyed success with the 2018 Miken DC-41 SuperMax USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MDC17U, then that would be a great option for you. The biggest key will be to make sure you have the right certification stamp for your league/tournaments.
Tyler
I'm getting back into play slow pitch softball after sometime off. I'm 6'5" and a 212 average build. What oz Miken DC 41 would you recommend? Kirk
I would recommend going with the 28 oz 2018 Miken DC-41 SuperMax USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MDC17U based upon your height and weight.
Max
We use a .52 COR 300 softball, would you recommend this bat for that type of ball? RB
For that soft of a ball, typically a "harder" ASA bat is the better option, such as the 2018 Miken DC-41 SuperMax ASA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MDC17A.
Logan
I'm interested in this bat but noticed you have a used model. Should I buy new or used? Hollywood
I would recommend a purchase of the new bat. New bats do cost more, but they come with a full 12 month warranty from the manufacturer, Miken. If you buy the used version of this 2018 Miken DC-41 SuperMax USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat (MDC17U), you will be getting a bat that was inspected by our returns team to decipher if it appears to be in quality condition for use. However, the used bats only have a 14 day used bat guarantee from JustBats. If you purchased a used bat and it broke after the 14 day period from the purchase date, you would have no recourse to get a replacement through JustBats or Miken.
Ben
Is this a good bat for NSA with .52/275 balls? Ron
Yes, this bat should show good results and durability if used with a .52/275 softball.
Ben
We have a team full of 25-35 year old guys. Only a few big power hitters. Lot of gap and slap hitters. We have the 27 oz. Izzy Psycho and wanted to get 1 more bat in a different weight. What do you recommend? Grape Smashers
The 2018 Miken DC-41 SuperMax USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MDC17U would certainly be a great option, one of our most popular and highest rated options. However, the 2018 Miken DC-41 SuperMax USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MDC17U features a full ounce end load, so it will swing heavier than the Izzy Psycho, and quite a bit heavier if you go with a larger size. The 2018 Miken Freak 23 Maxload USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MFK23U would offer a swing weight similar to that of the Izzy Psycho, so that may be the better option at a larger size.
Logan
I swing a 27 oz bat currently. Should i get a 26 oz in this model? matmenace
Since the 2018 Miken DC-41 SuperMax USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MDC17U has a full ounce end load, if you wanted the weight of the bats to be the same as your current bat then you would want to get a 26 oz.
Tori
What grips are on this bat? I plan on replacing the stock grip with Vulcan and was wondering what size to get. gstring120
Most bats, like the 2018 Miken DC-41 SuperMax USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MDC17U, feature a grip tape of roughly 1.1 MM in thickness. To confirm the exact size though it may be best to reach out to Miken directly for clarification.
Cameron
Would this bat be good for Worth ProTac Super Gray Dot balls (C-Lok Compression), those are the balls my league tend to use? .40/375 . What other ASA/USSSA bats would you recommend? D
The 2018 Miken DC-41 SuperMax USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MDC17U would work well with that type of ball, and is one of the best USSSA options. The Miken Izzy Psycho SuperMax USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: SPSYMU would be another one to check out if you like a more stiff feeling bat.
Logan
Which is a better bat, the USSSA DC-41 or the Freak 23? Justin
Both the Miken DC-41 SuperMax USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat and the Freak 23 are high performing bats and you really can't go wrong with either one. The DC-41 has a slightly longer barrel.
Tori
I have the Miken DC-41 2017 but it just broke last week and I really love this bat and the sensation to hit a rock with. I would like to know which bat from Miken is very similar than the Miken DC-41 2017. Martin Fournier
Miken does not have another DC-41 model out at this time. The best comparison from Miken on the market right now would be the Miken Freak Primo 14" SuperMax USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: MPMOSU. This bat would also feature the same one ounce end-load with a 14 inch barrel length.

During the past few years, serious softball players have looked to Miken Sports for bats that provide the highest levels of performance and durability. Our relentless focus on both technology and the demands of players has made Miken the most demanded line of softball bats today.
