Pros: none
Cons: The 918 vs the 916 is a very poor bat. I have always had all 4 boys swing there products. The 918 from top to bottom is a poor bat. The pop off of the bat is very poor.
Pros: The back looks really nice.
Cons: Own multiple LS bats and this is by far the worst of the 4 bats we currently own. No where close to the pop the 916 has. Ball comes off flat on 918, and when my son switches back to the 916 it flies off the bat. I would definitely suggest not suggest spending $350 on this bat.
Pros: Huge sweet spot. No sting complaints. They fixed the swivel at the connection between the barrel and the handle from the 917. The Lizard Skin is amazing.
Cons: Not as balanced as we would have hoped.
Pros: The bat looks and feels great also end loaded love that. My son kills the ball with the bat but I miss the old 916......
Cons: The USA stamp has killed the pop that the old 916(hottest bat on the market) had but is still better than any of the Easton Products I have seen in the last few tournaments and also on our travel team.
Pros: Bought my son two bats this year this one and the ghost x Hyperlite and wasn't sure if this bat was going to be too heavy. This fall he seem to hit ball a bit further with the 918 and seems to have a bigger sweet spot. no vibration too report. Love This Bat and and he getting stronger thus summer will be his go too bat.
Cons: none
Pros: Looks nice no vibration. Got this with Demarini Zen voucher.
Cons: There was no pop to it. I got this with the Demarini Zen voucher. Next time I will have my son demo at bat for this price(That's my fault) . I also think my son(10yo 7olbs) is not made for a composite bat. He is doing well with alloy.
Pros: One of the nicest bats I have owned for my 8yr old son. Great Balance and 28/18 weighed 18.7 oz so pretty close to true weight. Bat takes 500+ hits to break in. You can hear the pitch of the bat change once I did the break in process. I'm up over 300 balls off the tee swinging at 50% power while rotating the bat. You could hear it and see the pop off the barrel up around 200 swings. I agree with everyone else but the barrel is very stiff. I would bet money that this bat once broken in and playing with some heat in the barrel will be a monster.
Cons: 500-600 hits off the tee to get the bat to start waking up. Other then that its balanced and swings fast through the zone. Grip is fantastic and the connection piece looks better quality then the Mako's. Don't expect it to be a CF Zen out of the wrapper though. 3000 psi on the compression tester out of the wrapper for a composite.
Pros: I honestly gave up after 2 months of my son using this bat over winter workouts. Looks great and is a bit end loaded compared to his Solo 618. Nothing like the 917 or 916 Primes.
Cons: Must have put over 1000 hits on this bat and it did not get any hotter. One of the nicest bats we have tried for Travelball and well balanced. Our 28" bat measured 27.5" from tip to tip so I'm a bit ticked that its exactly 1/2" shorter then his Mako. The bat weighed 18.7oz for a 28/18 so its very close to true weight. I would of been happy if it even performed evenly with the Mako but the bigger barrel produces a lot of back spin turning liners into easy flyballs. I would not recommend this bat for any kid under 10 due to the amount of bat speed to get the barrel to compress.
Pros: - Great looking to bat to start with - Once the bat has been "properly" broken in it is as hot as any bat in this market. - Tremendous feel and well balanced - Basically zero sting on missed hits - Well priced (if you can find the 918 in stock) no a days -
Cons: - I am being very picky here... - the bat is actually a little shorter than advertised. For example, I purchased a 29/19 and although the bat weighed pretty true (19.4 ounces) it was not quite 29 inches long. It was 28 7/8 inches long. Now, that's ultimately not a big deal to my son but something to consider. - We have hit well over 300 balls to date from tee work, soft toss, and live pitching and it seemed to take about 200 solid swings to start "breaking in" (not sure that's a con but thought I would throw it out there)
Pros: Solid line drive hits, nice pop. Better than the Solo.
Cons: None
Pros: My loves his bat it has a good pop and still hasn’t been able to break it in but getting there so if he is happy I’m happy
Cons: None
Pros: Great pop, durability and no vibrations. First at bat with it and I almost hit a home run.
Cons: The connection piece comes off easily but can be fixed with super glue.

About the Brand
In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.
After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.
The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.
The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.
Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
