Great Bat Chris Schaefer parent

Pros: My son is 11 and has been using the bat ( 30/20 ) for about a week now. The bat has good pop out of the box. He said the bat has zero vibration. Its a well balanced bat he used he Louisville Slugger 517 (29/19) last year. This is so well balanced it actually feels lighter to him.

Cons: its a great looking bat but the white paint is already chipping unfortunately.

2018 Ghost X AD parent

Pros: My son has had the 30/20 Easton Ghost X for a few weeks and has gone through the breakin stage. The bat is balanced and has no vibration to the handle. The sound of the bat is a loud ceramic. The durability of the bat appears to be very good.

Cons: Not as much pop as the Demarini Retooled -10.

love the Ghost X Brad Keller coach

Pros: The Ghost feels slightly more balanced than the new Demarini Zen. The distance off both was pretty similar. The Ghost has a very unique sound. After breaking the bat in, we hit about 500 balls between the cage and the field. in the end, my son said the Ghost X was his favorite of the two.

Cons: none so far

Not worth it !! Chris Evans player

Pros: there is no pros

Cons: Bat is awlful, there is no pop, the bat seems dead almost like its defective. Used the past 2 weekends in tournments, every hit ball came off flat. All summer used Mako beast and never had these issues. Bat is the worst!!!

Hot bat Proud Dad parent

Pros: My 11u son used this bat (30/20) in his last fall tournament. He almost went yard several times with 300' fence. He has used the Beast and the 917 but the goast x has way more pop. Well worth the $$$.

Awesome Bat Matt Coach

Pros: My son is 8 and uses a 28/18. He likes the feel of the bat and can really get it around. He says there is no sting. We have used it through the summer and fall ball seasons with great results. He has hit the ball as hard as any on his 8u team. Only 1 bat I have seen that is close and that is the cat8. I see a couple other post on here about it being dead and all that, maybe some more cage time for the hitter would be beneficial.

Love it! Chris Ross Coach

Pros: Great looking bat. My 11 year old son loves it and the pop off the bat is excellent. I’ve taken some swings with the bat, as this is our first “premium” bat purchase and I wanted to see just how much difference a better bat could make, and was shocked at how the ball explodes off this bat when hit squarely. Money well spent! Since we’ve only had the bat a couple of weeks is hard to truly rate durability but so far it’s holding up nicely.

Cons: None so far.

Pros: My 10 year used a 28-10 last year and loved the bat. Great pop with zero vibration. Loved the bat so much he wanted the same bat only bigger. So a 30-10 is the the one. Besides Easton bats the only bat he likes is the Rawlings 5150.

Great price on a solid bat. Mike Coach

Pros: Purchased for my 9 year old son. This is his first drop-10, had been using drop-12's previously. Has a nice balanced swing and he is having no problem getting to the ball. Good pop right out of the wrapper and is breaking in nice. Time will tell on durability, but the bat looks great and he loves it. Roped two solid line drives in his first game.

Pros: Great pop. Balanced feel. Easton quality. My 10 year old is 4’11” and 115 lbs is swinging a 30/20. We went from a Louisville to this and the change has been awesome. He always complained that the Louisville was heavy at the end but hasn’t said that about the Ghost X.

Ghost in the machine Lee Coach

Pros: When dealing with most boys both coaches and parents alike get to a point where the players think a new bat is needed to elevate their game and spending 300+ dollars at a retail store never made that much sense to me since last years bat is at least 50% cheaper. This bat hits all the marks . It allows my son to be more confident hit the ball harder and further than any previous bat (Easton s3) . Great bat great site.Be sure to follow break in instructions.

It wasn't a slump, it was the bat. Scott Doty Parent

Pros: Nice and balanced, no vibration.

Cons: Reviews are over inflated on this bat. Maybe I received a dud, but this bat has no pop. A couple coaches told me that they thought the bat was dead, which I felt defensive about because I did a lot of research before buying this bat. Then a coach let my son borrow a Demirini Zen. The first time touching the Zen my son hit a double, second time an inside the park homer. Maybe it's not fair to compare this to the Zen, but there were similar results when my son used a Cat 8 Marucci, and to add insult to injury, a mid grade Axe bat out hit this Easton. I paid a lot of money on this bat. Now I tell my son to borrow other kid's bats at games. The Demirini, Marucci and Axe all out drive this bat forty feet or more.

Pros: Bat had decent pop right out the box. After 200 some hits the pop was outstanding.... My first year talented 9 year old hit very well with the 29/19 drop 10. I didn't want to spend 400 bucks so I bought the 2018 ghost x and wow what a bat. Son and teammates say zero vibration... Successful season under it's belt.

Cons: Grip is different

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Is this bat is approved for minors Little League play and is the barrel 2 5/8? paul lamere
The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 is USSSA certified. The new Little League rules require the new USABat Standard, so this would not be legal. The barrel on this bat is 2 3/4".
Damon
Have you reviewed this bat yet ? Trying to find the best bat for this year. joseph brand
Since the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 has not been fully released yet, there isn't any feedback on the bat. It will be similar to the Mako Beast from 2017 with improved feel and vibration reduction, and an overall top-of-the-line bat.
Logan
My son is 60 pounds and 4'4". Is a 29/19 oz bat going to be a good size for him? He was swinging a 17 oz bat in the spring, but it was light for him. SS
Based on the player's height and weight, we would recommend a 28 inch model of the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10. If one wanted to get a 29/19 one can certainly do so. Going up 2 ounces will really come down to how light the 17 ounce bat was for the player.
Cameron
My son is 54 inches tall and 63 pounds, what size do you recommend? Corey
Based on your player's height and weight, I would suggest a 29" 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10.
Logan
I am 4'8'' and 75 pounds. What size should I order? mike
We would recommend a 29" length for your height and weight.
Kyle J.
My son is 100 lbs and is 5 ft tall. Is a 30 inch good for him? rizo
Yes, based on your height and weight, I would suggest a 30" 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10.
Logan
How much break-in of the bat is needed? bige
I would recommend allowing for at least a few days of consistent use with this 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL18GX10) before expecting to see the highest performance off the bat.
Ben
My boy is 9, weighs about 90 pounds, and is about 4 foot. What size of bat should he use? Troy ocanas
Based on your players height and weight, we suggest a 28" version of the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10.
Jason
My son will be swinging a 27" or 28". What"s the difference between this bat and the new Hyperlite bat? Mike
This 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL18GX10) will differ from the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -12 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL18GXHL12) as this bat is a two-piece, all-composite bat with a -10 length-to-weight ratio while the Hyperlite is a one-piece, all-composite bat with a -12 length-to-weight ratio. Overall, the Hyperlite will be a lighter swinging bat and feature a stiffer feel at contact (stiffer feel does not mean the bat performs higher, it is just a feature a player will have to decide if they like).
Ben
My son weighs about 85 lbs and he's 4'7". What size would you recommend and what is the true weight of the bat in that size? Andrew
Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 in a 29 inch model. The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 will feature a static weight of roughly 0.9 ounces more than listed weight.
Cameron
What is the difference from the all white Ghost X vs. this one? Shane
The difference between the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX108 and the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 is the barrel diameter (2 5/8" versus 2 3/4").
Cameron
My son is 4'2" and weighs 56 lbs. He currently uses a 2017 Easton S3 (27/17 2-3/4). We were thinking of the Easton Ghost X, but cannot decide whether to buy or not. What would you recommend? If you do recommend upgrading, what size would you recommend? Alex
Based on your player's height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of getting a bat in the 28" length. Your old S3 was a one-piece, all-alloy bat. This 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL18GX10) will be a two-piece, all-composite bat. If you have interest in a two-piece, all-composite bat; I would recommend this bat highly. If you felt more comfortable jumping to a 29"/19 oz size to give more room for growth for your player, that should be okay (even though it may be a bit large to start out).
Ben
My son is 58 inches & 77 lbs. What size bat do you suggest in length & oz? DL
We would suggest a 30" length for his height and weight. That would be a 20 oz bat if you went with a -10 drop.
Kyle J.
My son is around 55-56 inches and weighs right at 70 pounds (10.5 years old). Is he best suited for the Ghost X-10 or the Hyperlite version (-12)? Jeramie Sponsel
Based off the information you've provided I would recommend a bat length of 29 inches. I would take his strength and level of competition into consideration when choosing the drop weight. In my opinion, I would recommend the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 for your player.
Dan
What is the return policy? hector
All unused items in their original condition can be returned for a refund or an exchange. Just let us know that you would like to return an item and we will send you a free UPS return label to send the bat back to us.
Taylor
My son always preferred the Mako [2 1/4"] bats (which were the -10 and end-loaded). Now with these senior league bats, the end-loads start at -8. My player is 10 years old. Should I get the balanced -10 or the end-loaded -8? mattinglyHOF
At 10 years old, I would feel more comfortable suggesting this 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL18GX10) even though it will be more balanced feeling. Unfortunately, I just think the -8 Ghost X Bat will be much too heavy at 10 years old. I would only recommend a -8 bat if you felt especially certain he could handle that weight.
Ben
Would you recommend this bat or the DeMarini CF Zen? chico
I think both bats would be a great choice, and both are very similarly constructed since they are both two-piece, fully composite designs. Honestly it comes down to whether you prefer Easton or DeMarini more than anything.
Kyle J.
My 11 year old has used a 29/19 for 2 seasons. He is a power hitter. Would you stay with the 29 or move to the 30/20? DeAnna
Without knowing your player's height and weight, I would suggest going up to a 30" 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 based on his age.
Logan
Does this bat require a break in period? stevem
With the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 being a composite bat, it would benefit from a break in period. Generally speaking, it usually only takes a couple of hitting sessions off a tee or soft toss while rotating the bat between swings to get an even break in over the entire barrel.
Logan
Can you use this bat for little league seniors baseball? Athena
No, the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 does not have the new USA stamp that is required for Little League, so it would not be legal.
Tori
Does this bat come in a big barrel version? Dean
The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 is a big barrel model. This specific model is a 2 3/4" barrel which is the largest available.
Cooper
My 10 year old just got this bat, but I have also seen it as YBB10GX10. What is the difference? jim
The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 is a two-piece composite model with a 2 3/4" barrel diameter with the USSSA/1.15 BPF stamp. The other bat you have listed, the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10, is the USA version of this bat. Essentially, the USA model will perform lower due to thicker barrel wall designs and features a smaller barrel diameter at 2 5/8". The USA standard is now being followed by Little League, Dixie, Pony, Cal Ripken, Babe Ruth, Dizzy Dean and others.

Is this bat out lawed by USSSA? jb
To our knowledge the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 has not been banned by USSSA. The USA model of this bat in 30" / 20 oz was deemed illegal for little league play.

what's the difference between this bat and the Ghost X Hyperlite? Sherri
The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 is a two piece fully composite bat with a -10 length to weight ratio, while the 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite -12 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GXHL12 is a one piece fully composite bat with a -12 length to weight ratio, meaning it will be 2 ounces lighter at the same length than the Ghost X -10 bat.

What is the difference between the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 (SL18GX108) and the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 (SL18GX10)? Brian
The barrel sizes will be the only true difference. The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 has a barrel size of 2 3/4" and the SL18GX108 will have a barrel size of 2 5/8".
Tyler
I am considering the Ghost X and Ghost X Hyperlite. Probably looking at a 29" bat. My son just turned 10. He weighs about 70 lbs and is 58" tall. Would you recommend the -10 drop instead of the -12 drop? Brad Gentry
Per your son's age, I would recommend using the 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10. The Ghost X Hyperlite is a good choice for someone who struggles with bat speed and barrel control but this size of bat he will quickly outgrow. As well, you may see more durability issues in the -12 as he gets older due to faster velocity from pitchers.
Cameron
What is the difference aside from color scheme between this bat and the white one SL18GX108? Mike B
The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 will be a 2 3/4'' barrel diameter (largest), while the SL18GX108 will be a 2 5/8'' barrel diameter.

My son is 4'5", 91 lbs and 8 years old. Turns 9 years old in March and plays on a 10U travel team. Stronger than most kids his age and has been using a 29" (-10) Combat last season. He swung it well. Which size would you suggest for next season? Ron Miller
Based on your player's height and weight, I am thinking he would be good to swing a 30"/20 oz version of this 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL18GX10) during this up coming season.
Ben
My son is 13, 6' tall and 85 pounds. Is the 32" bat the best for his height and weight? Keith Becker
Based on your son's height and weight, as well as age, we would recommend looking into a 31 inch model. The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 would not be the best fit at 13, we would recommend looking into a -8 model.
Cameron
My son is 9 years old, 4' tall and weighs 51 lbs. Would you suggest this bat or something different? Also what length would you suggest? We are looking for a USSSA bat for his league. Kurt
The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 would be a great option for your son with its USSSA certification. With his specifications, we would typically recommend a 27" baseball bat. If you would like some more recommendations on bats, please call us at 886-321-2287 and one of our customer coaches would be glad to help!
Dani
My son is 12 1/2. He is 5'5" and weighs about 160. What size bat would you recommend? And would this bat be a good choice? The coach suggested 30/20. Diana
Based upon your sons height and weight I would recommend moving up to 32'' and a -8 or -5. Our sizing has him at a 32'' and if he is strong enough I would recommend a -5, but if he used to a -10 I would go with the -5. The 2018 Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 would be a solid option, if you are wanting to stay with your coaches choice but my recommendation would be going with a large size.
Max
Was the 30” -10 model decertified Jeff
No, the Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 wasn't ever decertified in any size. The USA version of the bat in the 30" length was, but not this USSSA model.
Logan
Is this a youth bat? David Little
Yes, the Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 is a youth model that is recommended for use by players ages 8-12 years old.
Tyler
Does this bat come in a BBCOR (drop 3)? Rodney powers
The drop 3 version of this bat would be the Easton Ghost X BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB18GX). Both models will feature a two-piece, composite design with a balanced swing weight.
Taylor
I know the Ghost X USA bat had some issues. But the USSSA bat did not have issues last year did it? Assuming it is on sale because they were associated with the USA bats? Are these good bats? Glenn Proctor
The Easton Ghost X USSSA was a well performing bat, just like Easton's top bats in USSSA the past several years. The item is discounted because it is an older model. We reduce prices on items when the newest year models are released.

My son currently swings a Louisville Slugger Omaha 30" 20 oz. bat. He's almost 13 and 87lbs. Looking at 2 piece bats (Easton Ghost X). What is the biggest advantage of 2 piece bats? Are they higher maintenance? How is durability? Shawn White
There are many advantages to having a two piece composite such as the Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10. The largest difference between a one piece and a two piece will be the flex feel at the point of contact that you receive with the two piece, as well as redistributes the vibration through the hands of the player. The one piece alloy's, such as the Omaha will have more vibration on miss hits and will have more of a loud ping sound than two piece composite. As far as durability and maintenance they will both be very similar, the biggest thing is the two piece composites will require a small break in period.
Max
What size and type of bat would you recommend for a 5’2", 142 pound 11 year old? Erica
We would probably recommend a 32" length for his height and weight. As for weight, typically -10 is the most common at that age.
Kyle
My son is 5'1" tall and 140 lbs. He plays Dixie 12U. What size would you recommend? Kristi Back
Per your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting a 31 inch bat. The Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 would not be legal though for Dixie play as Dixie requires a USA bat. A better option would be the Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 or the Easton Ghost X Evolution -8 USA Baseball Bat: YBB19GXE8 (if player can handle a heavier bat).
Cameron
I noticed this is a composite bat, are there weather/temperature restrictions to use the bat? Rob
The Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 is not recommended for temperatures below 55 degrees. We suggest limiting its use in temperatures below this as much as possible to your player and in game.

Is this bat still USSA qualified? The following page lists the Ghost X 30” as no longer qualified. Hope that I’m wrong but request that you verify that this length still qualifies with USSsa. http://www.usssa.com/baseball/baseball-withdrawn-andor-non-compliant-baseball-bat-models/ Jodi Palmer
Only the 30" / 20 oz USA model of this bat is banned as listed on the link provided. Since USA bats are allowed in travel tournament play, that is why it made it onto this list. The Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 is legal for USSSA play.
Daveron
Is the 2 3/4 approved for Little League? Sean
The Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 is not allowed for Little League play as Little League requires the use of a USA bat. The equivalent is the Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10. As well, USA bats cannot exceed a barrel diameter of 2 5/8" in diameter.
Cameron
Would this bat be certified in Pony League? Carlos
The Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 is USSSA certified. This bat option would not be legal in Pony League that requires a USA stamp. The Easton Ghost X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18GX10 model would be allowed in Pony League.
Daveron
My son is 13, 5’10” 155lbs. Would this bat be a good fit for him? Marshall
The Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 is probably a little light for your player at his age and size. I would suggest a 32" or 33" length, and either a -8 or -5 length to weight ratio. The 2018 Easton Ghost X -8 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX8 or the 2018 Easton Ghost X -5 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX5 would be what I would suggest for your player.
Logan
Can this bat be used with impact balls? I am talking about the skilz 15oz impact balls (or similar) for batting practice. I have heard mixed things about impact balls and composite bats. This would be soft tossed and not from a machine. Miguel
Our recommendation would be to use only certified standard baseballs with the Easton Ghost X -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL18GX10 and all bats. The weighted and/or dimple balls can cause damage to composite and alloy bats alike.
Daveron
Would you guys recommend this bat or the Marucci Cat 8? Which bat has a bigger sweet spot? Carter
Both the Easton Ghost X -10 (SL18GX10) and the Marucci Cat 8 are excellent bats that have gotten great reviews from our customers, so you can't really go wrong with either selection. I personally prefer the Marucci Cat 8, simply because I prefer one-piece alloy models and the stiffer feel more than the more flex that a two-piece design like the Ghost X offers.
Kyle
Can I order a 29" and a 28" to see which one works best for my grandson? I would want to return one. Dee Lohman
Yes, per our Return Policy, a unused bat that is still in its original condition can be returned for a full refund. Your player can take dry swings to see which weight they prefer, and the other can be returned as long as it is not used.
Daveron
