Nice bat, good feel baseball dad parent

Pros: This bat has a good feel. There is no sting or vibration on the hands. Has different wood like crack to it.

Cons: As expected the pop is down because of the new standards. Doesn't seem to affect how hard you can hit ground balls, but fly balls are not going as far.

Pros: This and the solo are the most popular bats on our fall ball team. They sound good and seem to be close in pop to the bats they used to have. Seeing a lot of them at the field and we demo everything

Better pop than the Easton Ghost X Skip coach

Pros: We originally purchased the 2018 USABat Easton Ghost X drop -10 and used it for about two weeks. Although it is a composite bat and will take some time breaking in, we noticed that "hollow" sound and no pop. My 7-year old son is a very good hitter and is a bigger kid. He makes contact on just about every pitch and we found the Easton to be lacking in pop. We purchased the Voooo One bat in early December. My son used it right off the wrapper and I immediately noticed instant pop. Obviously it doesn't have the same pop of the USSSA bats my son had but it definitely had more than the more expensive Easton Ghost X. For the money, this bat is worth buying.

Cons: Smaller barrel than the Easton Ghost X.

Wow nice sound and pop! Victor parent

Pros: My son says it has a nice feel! Good pop right off the wrapper. We love the ping sound. Even though it says it has a "balanced swing weight" according to the Bat Features, IMO it is a little more end loaded so kids that are stronger will be able to handle extremely better than smaller kids. He has demo'd the 2018 Easton Ghost X, the Louisville Slugger Omaha. the LS 518, Rawlings 5150. Overall, my son loves it! Demarini bats are some of the best bats out there. I honestly think you can't go wrong with the Voodoo One. For the price, it is definitely worth getting than buying the more expensive bats.

Cons: Smaller barrel hitting surface.

Very happy with this purchase Steve parent

Pros: We took it out right away to give it a try. It's well balanced and has a nice sound to it on impact. My son reported that it has no vibration and that he hardly feels the ball come off the bat on impact.

Cons: An ounce heavier than a drop -10 but my 10yo will be able to handle the extra weight. Obviously doesn't have as much pop as players are used to.

Good bat for competitive 10U James parent

Pros: Nice shaped barrel, large sweet spot. I tested the bat myself and it felt smooth on both ends of the barrel. My son has been dealing with "bat lag" and gets the feels when he hits off the end, but that's a swing problem, not a bat problem. I definitely recommend for the price as the shape is better than the other $100 range competition.

Cons: Wish it was drop -11.

Excellent Choice Michele parent

Pros: Recently purchased this bat for my 8 year old son. He is on the smaller side, so I was hesitant. He has always been a consistent hitter, but not always hard. These newer USA bats are supposed to not allow the ball to go as "far." I have to say that has not been the case with our son. He hit two homeruns this weekend; not from over throws or mistakes either. He is very particular about vibration which makes it difficult to purchase a bat without trying in advance. He says it has not hurt his hands at all!!! Will this bat make your child a good hitter if the talent is not already there, no. I highly recommend this bat if you are looking for a bat without vibration and that isn't top heavy.

Pros: My 8 yr old son started the season with the 2018 Easton Ghost X in a -11. He liked it because it was very easy to swing when he tried it out, but it jarred his hands terribly and there was very little pop. I decided to give the DeMarini a try since it was on sale and he loves it! We could instantly tell a difference in the pop and how far the ball traveled versus the Easton. It also rarely stings his hands. I would definitely recommend this bat!

Pros: For a USA bat this is the closest I have seen to the hot bats we used last year. The DeMarini Voodoo One -10 is hot right out of the rapper. My 10 year old grandson took batting practice with it for the first time. He hit four bombs with it. 230 foot shots. Nice Bat!

Great pop for the USA Bats! Mike B parent

Pros: My 9yr old prefers the one piece alloys over composites and it shows in his performance when switching between different bat types at BP. He'd rather hit this bat over his last years USSSA bat. He's had it 3 weeks now and absolutely loves this bat. For a 1 piece this bat has very little sting on mishit balls. Best looking bat in the dugout (not that that'll help with dingers). I've read reviews that encourage the thought that this bat is end loaded. My thoughts are that it seems very balanced, my son agrees. With the drop only being -10, we went down an inch in length from last year but so far it seems that he's hitting just as well, especially considering it's his first year of live arm.

Cons: None really. Very nice product and at the price, one that shouldn't be passed on.

Upgrade from Easton Ghost Jorge S parent

Pros: We went with the Easton Ghost -10 because we were happy with the Easton Mako performance on previous seasons and since all this USA is new to me, I decided to stick with Easton top of the line bat. After some games we were very disappointed with the Ghost performance (ball going nowhere) and sting issue and decided to look for a different bat to save what is left of this spring season. I was going to get the Louisville Solo based on reviews but it was not available anywhere and saw good reviews on this bat and decided to buy it . We are very happy!!! this bat is hot and my kid (He is not a power hitter) is back sending the ball deep in the outfield again. There is no sting or vibration. This is just our experience with these two bats and want it share so you don't waste $$ like we did and hopefully Easton get it together again. For now I will stick to what it works.

Cons: None so far.

Pros: Best option available of the new USA bats. i spent a lot more money on another option and it hit like a PVC pipe and had terrible bat sting. that is a common problem with the USA bats. the DeMarini VooDoo has no sting feels freat and the pop is as good as it gets with the USA bats. this bat overcomes a lot of the problems that other bats are having with the new standards.

Cons: None other than pure disgust with the USA standards.

I WANTED TO LOVE THIS BAT Coach Chris coach

Pros: Great pop for a USA bat.

Cons: One problem is that it's substantially heavier than advertised. The biggest knock however, is that this Demarini is far from being balanced. It's incredibly heavy at the barrel making for a much different swing plane than my son (and others) is used to. You don't notice it as much doing soft toss or in the cage, but in game action the players have been slower to the ball than normal and swinging underneath it. Great pop, so far good durability, but the unbalanced weight and extra weight make this a no go for me. FYI, being used at the minors level of LL.

Get It DB parent

Pros: My son has was around a .250 hitter in 10u-11u and I got this bat for him before his 12u season. He would usually make contact but hit a lot of easy grounders to 2B. With this bat he hit almost .400 in 30 games this season and led his team in RBIs. Multiple XBH to the fence and a lot of grounders got through the infield. Great pop to this one.

Great bat Rich Munizza Coach

Pros: My son is 7 years old and is pretty strong for his age. I got him the 28/18 which was the right size for his body type. The bat is a little end loaded but he did not have any issue getting it through the zone. I have to be honest the bat has some good pop for a aluminum baseball bat. (No he didn't hit 5 homeruns or go 5 for 5 his first game) I have nothing negative to say about our purchase from Just Bats or about the bat. Sometime I read the reviews and I wonder if the review is written by a real dad or if its someone just trying to sell bats. I'm am a real dad who just wanted to give everyone my honest opinion about the voodoo one. It's a great bat for a reasonable price.

My 10-yr old son loved his pair of 29-in/16-oz and 30-inch/17-oz bats he used last year. Any thoughts on whether it might be better to stick closer to the weight (perhaps a 28-in/18 oz or 29-in/19-oz) or the length (30-in/20-oz)? Rick
I would recommend going with a 30'' 20 oz in the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO2, if he struggles a bit more with getting his current bat through the zone then I would look at the 29'' 19 oz.

Logan
Does it have the USA baseball stamp actually on the bat? bamagirl
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO2 will feature the USA Baseball stamp just above the grip tape.
Cameron
Would you recommend the Voodoo One 29/19 or the Solo 618 30/19 for a 10 year old line drive/gap hitter? Alex
Both bats are going to perform very similarly to one another as they are both one-piece, aluminum bats, and the new USA Baseball certification restriction is rather strict when it comes to performance. It mostly comes down to personal preference between the two.
Kyle J.
My son is 8 years old and we are looking for a new bat that has the USA stamp. He plays machine Pinto for Pony. Is this bat one you would recommend? Cooke
Yes, the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO2 is a great option for an 8 year old looking for a new USA bat.
Carter
What size knob cuff do I need for this bat? Les
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO2 already comes with an RCK Knob to optimally fit the bottom hand of each hitter. However, if you are wanting to utilize a knob cuff for this bat, any standard size cuff should work just fine.
Tyler
With all the brands out there, what USA youth bat do you recommend for my son? He plays 9u little league and travel ball. salick
I think the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO2 in a 29 inch would be a good option for your player with his Little League. The Voodoo One is the perfect option for players looking to swing an extremely balanced bat with a stiff, traditional one-piece construction. As the lightest swinging bat in the DeMarini lineup, you'll notice an increase in swing speeds. If you want a similar bat for travel ball, I would recommend 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 Senior League Baseball Bat: WTDXVOZ.
Dan
If I purchase this bat and my son uses it but is not happy with it can we return it? jj
Unfortunately we cannot accept used bats back as a return as we can no longer sell them with the manufacturer's warranty. I would recommend hitting tennis balls or wiffle balls with the wrapper still on to get a feel for how the bat swings, but it would be considered used once baseballs were hit with it.
Kyle J.
Can we get an exact weight (real world) for the 29/19 model? Bert
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO2 in a 29'' weighs 21 oz.
Tori
What size is best for a 10u 5'5" and 85 pound USSSA AA ball followed by Little League fall ball? Currently has a -10 28 inch bat, length of 30 inches. what size best for 10u USSSA AA ball followed by fall ball? 5'6" tall and 85 pounds. currently has a -10 28 inch bat. Im looking at 29 or 30 inches -10 but undecided . thanks! dave k
Based on your sons height and weight we would recommend the 31"/21 ounce 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO2 which would work for both Little League and USSSA. However, if you wanted a USSSA version which will perform higher when you are allowed to use USSSA bats I would look at the 2017 DeMarini Voodoo One Senior League Baseball Bat: DXVOZ.
Carter
Some have complained that the barrel is smaller than the Louisville Slugger 518. Is this true? Mike
The Barrel on the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO2 and the 2018 Louisville Slugger Omaha 518 -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBO518B10 are both 2 5/8 inch diameter.
Dan
What is a good length for an 80 pound kid that is five feet tall? He's used a 30/20 before. Mark
Based on his height and weight we would recommend a 30"/20 ounce 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO2 for him.
Carter
My son is 8 years old, 4'7 72 lbs. The baseball chart says 30" bat. However, everyone I talk to says to buy a 28 or 29 inch -10 or -12. I'm pretty certain this is the bat I want to get him, but I'm unsure of the length. yarby03
Based on your player's height and weight, I would suggest a 29" 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO2.
Logan
What would be a good bat for a 65-70 lb and 4" tall kid? Patty
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of getting a bat in the 27"/17 oz size. However, if you feel your player is ready for the 28"/18 oz size, I would recommend this 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat (WTDXUO2) very highly.
Ben
My grandson is 170 lbs and 9 years old. He loves DeMarini bats. He is a slugger. Really strong. We want a faster swing. What size would work for him? adrian grandpa
For most 9 year old players, we are typically suggesting bats in the 29" length. Because of that, my general suggestion would be a 29"/19 oz size of this 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat (WTDXUO2). However, if you wanted to move up to the 30"/20 oz size, you could do so, as long as he can handle the weight.
Ben
I have seen reviews about some Rawlings bats weighing in "heavy" compared to their advertised drop. How much does this bat weigh in 29" length? LL Dad
We weighed one of these bats ourselves in a 29" size, and it came out to roughly 20.5-21 oz in weight, so expect a +1.5-2 oz weight difference on this model.
Kyle J.
My son just demo'd 5-6 bats and can't decide between the Rawlings Velo -10 and the DeMarini Voodoo One -10. He is 11, but a small line drive hitter (4'7", 78 lbs) so I wanted to stay with a one piece balanced bat, probably a 30"/20 oz. Any info that would differentiate one from the other? Dilly Dilly
I think both bats would suit him well, and thus far we haven't received enough customer reviews to really push one ahead over the other when it comes to performance. I would probably just go with the DeMarini Voodoo One -10 as it is $50 cheaper.
Kyle J.
My son is 10 and about 4'5" and weighs about 65lbs I wanted to get him the solo 618 29"18 ounce, but considering it's not going to be in stock for a while how would this bat compare? Also do you have any recommendations? Popsof5
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO2 is a great alternative to the 2018 Louisville Slugger Solo 618 -11 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBS618B11. Unfortunately, the Voodoo One is out of stock in the 29" as well. I would recommend the 2018 Louisville Slugger Omaha 518 -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTLUBO518B10 if you want something similar and in stock. Both of these bats will feature one-piece, all alloy construction with a balanced swing weight. Keep in mind that the Omaha 518 will be one ounce heavier than the Solo 618.
Dan
My grandson is 5' 1 and weighs 95 lbs. Is a 31 drop 10 a good size for him? Zeke
Given your player's specifications, a drop 10 bat typically will be a great fit. I would recommend the 31" 21oz. size of the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO2.
Tyler
My son is 9 years old, 55 inches and 75 lbs. What size would you recommend on the WTDXUO2? luvshack

Kyle J.
My grandson is 85 lbs and 4' 14" tall. He plays Dixie Youth and has to have an approved bat. I would like a 2 5/8" barrel. What bat do you suggest? Brayden's MiMi
I would recommend the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO2 in 30 inch length. If your grandson is more comfortable with a two-piece bat, then I would recommend the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 in a 30 inch length as well.
Dan
Looking at the Voodoo One or Omaha 31"/-10. What size bat would you recommend for an almost 13 yr old who is 5'3" and 130 lbs? He really likes the Omaha 31"/-10 but thought he needs to try the Voodoo One of the same size/weight. He has two years of PONY baseball before high school. Liz
We would recommend a 31" or 32" size for his height and weight. I would also recommend looking at some of the -8 drop models. If he intends to play in high school he will be required to use a -3 BBCOR model, so we generally recommend using a -8 or -5 for a season beforehand, as jumping from a -10 to a -3 is a large jump.
Kyle J.
My son is 11 years old, 56 inches tall, and weighs 75 pounds. Would you recommend a 30 inch bat? How does the sweet spot on this bat compare to the Easton sweet spots (Beast, Ghost)? NC
Based on your player's height and weight, I would agree that the 30" 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO2 would be the right size. The sweet spot on the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO2 would be very similar to the sweet spot on the 2018 Easton Beast X -10 USA Baseball Bat: YBB18BX10.
Logan
My son is almost 8 and still in coach pitch. He is the tallest kid on the team. What do you recommend? In the fall, he will be playing kid pitch. 29 inch? 2 5/8? BRITTANY B BROWN
If your player is taller than the average 8 year old, then a 29" 2 5/8" 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO2 would be what I would suggest.
Logan
My son is playing coach pitch. He is 5-years old and has a natural swing. He is currently using an Easton Ghost T-ball bat, but I think he may need something slightly heavier. Is this bat too big for him? Hawk
It would obviously depend on the length and weight that you get him. I would try and find a 27" or 28" length of bat, but if you have to have a USA stamp that is going to be extremely difficult to find since nearly all vendors are sold out or limited in sizes and models for that length. If your league allows USSSA models, then I would get a Junior Big Barrel bat.
Kyle J.
Is this a one or two piece bat? Goody
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA (WTDXUO2) is a one-piece, all alloy model.
Kyle J.

The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO2 is going to have a balanced swing weight. The actual weight of USA bats have ranged between 1-2oz above their listed weights. This is slightly higher than the 0.5-1.5oz bats of the past have run.
Tyler
Does this bat come in a 27 inch? goody
The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO2 was not made in a 27 inch model.
Cameron

Tyler

This bat is certified with the new USA stamp for Little League, so it would be allowed for use.
Kyle J.
My son is 12 and is 85 lbs. and is 5' tall, what length would you recommend? M

Tyler
What size bat should a 12 year old weighing 105 lbs., close to 5 ft tall, swing? Ashley
Given your player's specifications, I would recommend swinging a 30" bat. Unfortunately, we do not have any of the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO2 bats available in 30" at this point in time. However, we do have the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUD2 available and I would certainly recommend checking that model out.
Tyler

The 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO2 is a one-piece all alloy bat.
Cameron
I am looking for this bat in a 29", which is not listed. What else would you recommend that is comparable to this? Melissa Murray
The most comparable to this DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO2 would be the newest model, the DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO219.
Tyler
Which bat is better, the Voodoo or the CF ZEN? Don
With the USA certification the DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO2 and the CF ZEN will be of equal performance. With the USA certification it is more about finding the individual bat that will fit the players needs.
Max
I am looking for the lowest "swing weight" USA bat. My son is very tall, but extremely skinny. Measuring his bat speed he easily swings much harder with an old 2 1/4" barrel, drop 12 than the newer 2 5/8" barrel, drop 10/11. I saw online as this having the lowest swing weight. What are your thoughts/recommendations? Rick
Each manufacturer kind of has their own ways of calculating "swing weight", so there isn't a definite list or anything out there to say which has the lowest. However, typically one-piece aluminum models like this DeMarini Voodoo One has the most balanced swing weights, so I would rate this one fairly highly. Other models you can look at would be the Louisville Slugger Solo or Omaha, or the Rawlings VELO.
Kyle
Can this be used in high school baseball? Gerell
The DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO2 is not BBCOR approved so it cannot be used in high school. The BBCOR model is the DeMarini Voodoo One BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVOC19.
Cameron
Are these bats game ready or do they need the brake in? If so, what's the best method for brake in? Brian
The DeMarini Voodoo One -10 USA Baseball Bat: WTDXUO2 features an alloy barrel and thus does not require a break-in period. This bat will be ready to go on swing one.
Cameron
I need a bat for a 13U player moving up to a 60/90 field. Height 5' and weight 120. Nelson

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
