Description

DeMarini baseball bats give all power to the player because of the wide array of options that are offered. The CF Insane series is one of, if not the best option for power hitters. They are designed for the player who prefers a two-piece, fully composite construction, but wants an end loaded feel and more mass behind their swing. DeMarini has really stepped up their game and developed the most advanced lineup yet. Each model in the CF series is crafted out of the insanely durable Paraflex material that is 22% stronger than all previous composite materials. From the end cap all the way to the handle, DeMarini has distributed the weight with precision accuracy for complete control during every at bat. Player driven innovation has helped DeMarini continually push the limits of bat technology and performance. The latest feature associated with DeMarini's lineup yet is their 3-Fusion System. This one-of-a-kind design includes the streamlined 3Fusion handle along with the lightweight 3Fusion end cap that optimizes weight for better overall control at the plate. With a sleek design, the 3Fusion handle provides a serious reduction of vibration in the hands and a noticeable difference in flex on contact that helps transfer negative energy into the barrel for powerful performance and insane ball flight. DeMarini: Choose Innovation. Choose Power. Choose Speed.

This DeMarini CF Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTDXCIC) features a standard 2 5/8-inch barrel diameter, a drop 3 length to weight ratio, and the BBCOR certified stamp for high school and collegiate approval. HEAVY HITTERS ONLY TJ player

Pros: They weren't lying about the load. This bat has some serious mass behind it. I'm a big dude so it's not a huge deal but some of my teammates refuse to swing it.

Cons: If you're small or weak, this is not for you. Otherwise, awesome bat!

Great feel and sound DLIttle parent

Pros: This bat is awesome. The feel of the endload is perfectly balanced and doesn't feel heavy at all. Still breaking the bat in so can't say much about the pop but the ball sure travels well. The sound is great, it is pure like the sound of my sons pro maple bat. I highly recommend this bat for power hitters. It is NOT a heavy bat though.

Cons: Pricey but that's what all these senior level bats cost these days

Excellent Bat.. John B. parent

Pros: If you have a powerful swing you will get the max benefit out of this bat. My son is 6' 195 sophmore. He took one deep about 365 in a varsity baseball game the other day .He has hit many more HR. in batting practice. This bat is performing the way we hoped. We have always chosen DeMarini bats and have the same success with all of them.

Cons: We have already changed the grip out but trust me, thats after hours of tee, soft toss and live batting practice to go along with games.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the DeMarini CF Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCIC? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

I am from Indiana which means some cold weather during baseball season and I am looking for a bat with a lot of pop. Would you recommend this bat? john
The 2018 DeMarini CF Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCIC is a great bat to consider although in colder weather an alloy model like the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVIC may show better performance and durability.
Cameron
What would the difference be between this bat and the new Voodoo (end-loaded) as far as feel? bp34royals
This 2018 DeMarini CF Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTDXCIC) might feel a little lighter overall in its swing feel when compared to the 2018 Voodoo Insane (however, I would rate the feel between the bats as pretty similar overall).
Ben
I am a power hitter and I am looking for an end-loaded BBCOR bat for this season. Should I get the CF Insane or the Voodoo Insane? Which one is better? What is the difference in pop besides the fact that one is composite and one is aluminum? Marc
Both bats are excellent choices, and there won't be much difference in performance due to the tight regulations of the BBCOR standard. The main difference is the aluminum barrel vs composite barrel. Aluminum barrels are hot out of the wrapper, while composite bats will take a break-in period before they reach peak performance. Sometimes composite bats can perform slightly better once fully broken in, but aluminum bats are generally very durable.

What is the difference between this bat and the 2017 Insane BBCOR? MB
The 2018 DeMarini CF Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCIC features a new 3Fusion End Cap which optimizes weight, control, and overall durability. The 3Fusion handle technology reduces sting and transfers energy back into the barrel. Lastly, the new model features a new paraflex composite barrel design which provides a 22% stronger material.
Dan
Is this bat appropriate for a 13 year old AA player? He is about 5'4" and 156 lbs. He carries his weight in the shoulder, chest and below the waist. Last season he swung a DeMarini 2016 end loaded bat 31 in and 22 oz. His coach thinks he should swing heavier. He wants to stay with an end loaded bat with pop. Is 29 oz too much of a leap and too heavy? Brian
The 2018 DeMarini CF Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCIC might be a bit large as of now, because of the BBCOR model would be more suitable for a high school player. I would take a look at the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo -5 Senior League Baseball Bat: WTDXVB5.
Max
What's the difference between the CF Insane and the CF Zen? Which bat would be better for high school junior? lmj
The 2018 DeMarini CF Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCIC features an end-loaded swing weight design and is better suited for a stronger hitter. Meanwhile, the 2018 DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC features a balanced design. As to which one is better to use, this is all dependent on what the player prefers.
Cameron
I'm a senior in my High School at 6'2 163lbs. What bat do you recommend for me? Justice
The DeMarini CF Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTDXCIC) is an excellent option if you're looking for an end loaded swing weight. Based on your height and weight, we would recommend that you use a 33" length.
JP
Just ordered my bat, do I need to break it in? If so, how long for it to break in? Justice
To properly break in your 2018 DeMarini CF Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCIC, we recommend taking 150-200 swings playing soft toss or off a tee using real baseballs. Begin swinging at 40% power and work our way up to full strength as you get closer to 200 swings.
Carter
I'm 6'1", 256 lbs. Would you say this bat is a good fit for me? If not what would be a good bat that would fit me? I only use end loaded. timebomb
The 2018 DeMarini CF Insane is a great model for a power hitter. Some other end loaded options are the Easton Beast X Loaded, or the Louisville Slugger Select 718.
Kyle J.
My son is 13 years old, is 5'10" and weights about 135 lbs. Would an end loaded bat be to much for him? He has great bat speed with a balanced bat . Daniel Glenn Phillips
I would recommend staying with a balanced model for now if you are looking to get him a BBCOR model. Generally end loaded BBCOR bats are not used until players are around 16-18 years old, or if they are very large/strong for their age, such as 6' tall and 185 lbs+.
Kyle J.
I"m 6"0'' and 215 pounds as a freshman. What size do you recommend? sqaud
Based on your height and weight, I would recommend getting the 2018 DeMarini CF Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCIC in a 33''.
Tori
My son is 13, 5"11' 170 lbs, currently swings a balanced 33/-3. Would this 32/-3 be a good option to start him with an end loaded bat? Kahuna baseball
Based on the player's height and weight we would recommend getting the 2018 DeMarini CF Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCIC in a 33 inch model. If the player feels more comfortable using a 32 inch bat since it is end-loaded then there is nothing wrong with that.
Cameron
Son is 13 and has had the Zen 31 drop 5. He"s about 5"5'; 140 lbs, with average bat speed. Buying a bat for next year, 31 drop 3, CF Zen or Insane? Nevada
Given your player's size and bat speed generated with the balanced CF Zen in the past, I would recommend the balanced 2018 DeMarini CF Zen BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCBC model. The end-loaded 2018 DeMarini CF Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCIC will be noticeably heavier to swing and could cause issues in control it through the zone.
Tyler
I"m 14. I"m 6"2 and 165 pounds. I currently swing a 32"/29 oz 2018 Quatro and the swing weight is too light. I want a 33" end-loaded bat. Is this bat better or worse than the Voodoo Insane in terms of pop, feel, and swing weight? homers only
Neither this 2018 DeMarini CF Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat (WTDXCIC) or the Voodoo Insane will be an inherently better bat than the other. The reviews we have received so far have been pretty much the same for the two bats and both have an end-loaded feel. Despite the barrel on this CF Insane being composite and the barrel on the Voodoo Insane being alloy, I think the two bats will be very similar on pop, feel and swing weight.
Ben
Do these bats give pop and stay solid throughout a full season without wearing out? I am 13 and going into 14u tryouts. Originally had a -5, 31 inch Louisville Slugger. liam christensen
The 2018 DeMarini CF Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCIC will have solid performance as it does meet the BBCOR standard and has shown that in a -3 will have the durability to last full season.
Max
The 2018 DeMarini CF Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCIC will have solid performance as it does meet the BBCOR standard and has shown that in a -3 will have the durability to last full season.
Max
Will this bat create solid line drive hits and not just be used for the long ball? liam
The 2018 DeMarini CF Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCIC could be used for hitting solid line drive or used for the long ball, depending on your swing.
Max
My son is 13 and a power hitter. He wants to move up to a -3 for showcases. How do we decide between the balanced or end loaded? He is 5’8” 150. Ty baseball
The 2018 DeMarini CF Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCIC most likely will be too heavy as he is just switching to the -3 weight. I would recommend going with the balanced model to maximize his bat speed.
Max
What is the difference between this bat and a cat 7? Steve
The main differences will be in the construction and swing weights. The 2018 DeMarini CF Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCIC is a multi-piece composite bat with an end loaded swing weight. The Marucci Cat 7 is a one-piece alloy bat with a balanced swing weight.
Tyler
I got the bat in January and used it up until now and it had great pop until a couple weeks ago when I started using it in colder weather could I have damaged the bat? Aiden Van Rensum
If you are noticing a significant drop in performance in the DeMarini CF Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCIC there is a possibility that your bat has became damaged. The DeMarini CF Insane BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXCIC will have a 12 month manufacturer's warranty, so if you bought it in January of 2019 it will still be covered by the warranty.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
