Good value bat The Hawk coach

Pros: Bought this for my 17 yo son. This is his 2nd straight Easton bat. Its more balanced than the S3 he had before and really liked. The sweet spot on this is good sized. We're only 13 games in to summer showcases but he's hitting well and ouside of general wear and markings it looks to be holding up well. He did specifically mention liking the grip and not wanting to re-wrap it with a Lizard.

Cons: can't report anything back yet. I saw some comments about vibration issues but he hasnt said anything about that.

Easton is the Best Connor41 coach

Pros: My son has had a LOT of Easton bats over the years and this is his absolute favorite. My son is 5' 1" and about 85 lbs in the 13U age group. The bat has great balance and has had great success with it. He's left handed and has pulled balls up the line and sprayed them over the 3rd baseman and short stop. He tried other bats this season but never had the success as he does with this bat. Its the feel and he loves it. Best part is he'll swing it all through his 14U season!

Cons: Never gonna complain about success.

Awesome BBCOR Bat Allen C parent

Pros: My son is 16 who plays in the JV team for his High School. He typically swings a "balanced" bat and some of the reviews say this bat is a bit "end-loaded". According to my son, it is. However, after one session with his batting coach, he was able to swing the bat with precision and Most Definitely - POWER!!! The balls come flying off the barrel and my son never complained about any "vibrations". My son says he will definitely be using this bat for the rest of the season.

Cons: Because the bat is white, after one session, it looks like it has been used all year long! Otherwise, Nothing to Complain About....

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Is this just a white version of the green 2016 Z-Core HMX? If not, what has been improved? dontknow
You are correct. This 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB17ZSW) is the exact same as the 2016 Z-CORE HMX (BB16ZA) with the only exception being the cosmetics.
Ben
Does the 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB17ZSW) have a lower swing weight than the green 2016 Easton Z-CORE HMX BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB16ZA)? jack
The 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB17ZSW) has the same specs as the green 2016 Easton Z-CORE HMX BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB16ZA), it is just a Limited Edition color.
Damon
For a gap-to-gap hitter with spots of power, would you recommend this or the Louisville Slugger Omaha 516? Marv
For that style of hitter, both the 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW and Louisville Slugger Omaha 516 could work very well. Both are very well-balanced one-piece alloy bats that will have a stiff feel to them.
Marcus
Does this bat or the Easton S500 have a lower swing weight? Also, which bat would you recommend for a contact hitter with not a lot of strength? Cdog
The 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW and the 2016 Easton S500 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16S500 both have a one-piece, alloy construction with a balanced swing weight. One does not necessarily have a lighter swing weight than the other. For a contact hitter, we recommend a two-piece bat as that will help increase power. If you prefer a one-piece bat, either one of these would be a suitable choice as one is not better for a contact hitter than the other.
Angelique
What's the differences between one piece bats and two piece bats and which type of hitter are they for? TimTheHomerunHitter
One-piece bats provide little or no give and have a stiff feel when contact is made with the ball. Due to the fact that one-piece bats have a very minimal amount of flex at contact, little or no energy is lost which results in more power. One-piece bats are preferred by stronger players with above average bat speed such as a power hitter. Two-piece bats provide more flex at contact with the ball. The two-piece construction creates a 'whip' effect that results in an increase in bat speed. An increase in bat speed results in an increase in power. For this reason players with average or below average bat speed such as a contact hitter, prefer two-piece bats .
Carter
Is this a bat for contact hitters or power hitters? Is it end loaded or balanced? CDub
The 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW features a balanced swing weight and may be used by both contact and power hitters alike.
John P.
Is the 2017 Z-CORE Speed as evenly weighted as the Rawlings VELO? Evoshield
Both the 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW and the Rawlings VELO will have similar weight distribution.
Cameron
Do you have it in 28 and 29 inch? Mayin
Unfortunately, the smallest size the 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW is made in is a 31". It was not made in a 28" or 29" option.
Jason
What is a better bat to use in BBCOR: the 2017 Z-CORE or the DeMarini CF8? blake
This 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB17ZSW) will come with a single-piece, all-alloy build while the CF8 has a two-piece, all-composite design. However, both bats are designed with a balanced swing weight. In regard to performance, the CF8 has been rated extremely well in 2016 and the initial reviews on this Whiteout have been positive. I think a decision will come down to the build that you prefer the most in a bat.
Ben
What bat would you recommend: this Z-Core Speed or the 2016 Easton MAKO? Jason
There will be some differences between this 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB17ZSW) and the Easton MAKO. This SPEED model is a single-piece, all-alloy bat while the MAKO is a two-piece, all-composite bat. Because of those differing builds, the bats will have different feels at contact. The SPEED will be stiff at contact while the MAKO will have a considerable amount of flex. I would recommend making a decision based upon the feel you prefer the most.
Ben
I am 5'8" and 120 lbs. What length should I get? I am planning on using this bat for as long as possible. I am debating over a 31 or 32 inch. Jack Baseball
If you are wanting to get the most use out of it I would suggest going with a 32" 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB17ZSW).
Jake
I am 5'7" 115 lbs, would you recommend me to get this bat? carl
Based on your height and weight, I would recommend a 32" length. As for the 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW, this bat would be a great option for a contact hitter due to the balanced swing weight.
Nick
Which bat is better, the 2017 Z-Core or the Marucci Cat 6? Kylon C. 2019 draft
Both the 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW and the Marucci CAT 6 are good bats that will feature one-piece alloy designs with balanced swing weights. Neither of these bats will offer significantly more pop or durability so it really comes down to your personal preference; the CAT 6 may feel slightly more end-loaded when compared to the Z-CORE.
Cameron
My son is 14, 5'5", and 120 pounds. 31" or 32"? mark
Based on your son's height and weight, I would recommend the 32" length.
Nick
Other then that the Easton MAKO is composite, what else is different between the MAKO and the Z-CORE? Kaden
The 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW will be a one-piece designed bat constructed from alloy. This means that this bat will be stiffer on impact since it is a one-piece (will sting hands more on off-centered hits since there is no connection point), will be ready to go out-of-the-wrapper, more prone to denting and holds up better in colder weather. The Easton MAKO will flex more on impact since it has the two-piece connection (this will help reduce vibration), requires roughly a 50 pitch break-in and is better suited for warmer weather; the MAKO will more than likely feel lighter in swing weight to most as well.
Cameron
Is this bat top heavy? jake
The 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW features a balanced swing weight.
Jason
How long does it usually take to get a different size back in stock in this model (32 inch)? kaden
At this time we do not have an expected date on when the 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW will have more 32 inch models. You can enter your email address on the website and this will send you an alert when more of these bats are in stock.
Cameron
If you order this bat when will it get here? I noticed it said 2017 release. Is the bat not out yet? Hitmen3
If you were to order the 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW today before 8 PM, it would ship out today. We have the 31", 32", and the 33" in stock currently.
Carter
Does this bat need to be broken in before use? King Muggs
The 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW does not require a break-in period as it features an alloy barrel.
Cameron
How does the ball feel coming off of this bat? ricky
This 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB17ZSW) will come with a one-piece design. Because of that design, it will allow for a stiff feel when making connection with a ball.
Ben
I am 5'9" and 145 lbs. What size bat would I need? louie
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW in a 32 inch, possibly 33 inch, model.
Cameron
I am 5'1" and 100 pounds. What kind of BBCOR bat should I get? I want a balanced bat with a lot of pop. Jack
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend getting a 29, possibly 30, inch model. Currently there is only one 29 inch 26 ounce BBCOR model on the market. Would recommend getting a bat, like the 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW, featuring a balanced swing weight design.
Cameron
What's the difference between the 2017 Z-CORE SPEED and the 2016 Eaton MAKO? hs baseball
The 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW is a one-piece fully alloy bat with a balanced swing weight design. As for the 2016 Easton MAKO, this bat is a two-piece fully composite design with a balanced swing weight. An alloy bat like the Z-CORE will make a "ping" sound on impact, be hot out of the wrapper, more durable in colder weather and more prone to denting. The Easton MAKO will sound more like a wood bat on impact, requires a slight break-in period and can possibly get hotter with continued use, is better suited for warmer weather (70 degree Fahrenheit or above) and more prone to cracking. Composite barrel bats, in general, will usually offer a slightly larger sweet spot and more balanced swing weight feel.
Cameron
Does the Z-CORE have a similar feel to a RIP-IT Element? baseball
The 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW is a one-piece alloy designed bat with a balanced swing weight. This bat, when compared to the 2016 RIP-IT Element ONE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BA, would feel more balanced as the 2016 RIP-IT Element ONE BBCOR Baseball Bat: BA features an end-loaded swing weight design with a one-piece alloy construction. The 2016 RIP-IT Element TWO BBCOR Baseball Bat: BAC will be a two-piece hybrid design with a balanced swing weight but will not feel exactly the same due to the difference in design; this bat will be more similar but how much so would be at the sole discretion of the one using the bats.
Cameron
What's the difference with having a one piece alloy design compared to a 2 piece design? baseball
The main difference between a one-piece bat versus a two-piece bat is the vibration reduction. A two-piece bat will flex more on impact and offer better vibration reduction when the ball is hit off-centered of the barrel.
Cameron
Does this bat have the same grip as the 2016 Easton MAKO XL BBCOR? srhoads9
Yes, the 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW features the same HYPERSKIN Grip tape as the MAKO XL.
Jason
Which bat will perform the best between this bat, the 2017 Marucci Cat 7, and the 2017 Rawlings 5150? swrhoads34
All three bats are going to be very similar to each other. All are going to feature a one piece aluminum design. The 2017 Rawlings 5150 came out very recently and we have not heard back from our customers if they have liked it as much as they have enjoyed past years Rawlings 5150's. I really do not think either of these will have an inherited advantage over the other and you cannot go wrong with any of the three. A plus of the 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB17ZSW) is that this Whiteout design is a limited edition design and there will be fewer of these out there.
Carter
My son is going into his HS sophomore year and has been using a Easton BB13X3 33/30 for 2 years. The bat is not making its normal ping anymore. It's more of a thud now. I cannot find any cracks but I know something is not right. He is 6'1" and 180 and a power hitter batting in the 4 spot as a freshman. He liked the big barrel of this current bat and I was wondering if this bat was similar or if you could recommend something else. Lake Fisher
The 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW is a one-piece fully alloy bat with a balanced swing weight design. This bat will be slightly different then the XL3 is was using prior as the XL3 is a one-piece fully alloy design with an end-loaded swing weight. Both bats are good fits for a power hitter but one might find more power with an end-loaded bat. One to possibly consider would be the 2016 Easton MAKO XL BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16MKL (if you are open to a composite bat) or the 2017 Easton Z-CORE XL BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZX (if you want something that will be very comparable to the previous model of bat being used).
Cameron
How does this bat compare to pop and feel of the ball off the bat compared to the 2015 Rawlings VELO? will
Both the 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB17ZSW) and the 2015 Rawlings Velo are going to be one piece aluminum bats. They are both also going to be balanced bats. The main difference between the two is that the Rawlings Velo was a much louder bat than this Easton Z-CORE will be. Performance wise through both are going to be extremely similar.
Carter
What is the difference between the 2016 and 2017 version? Noah
There was not a 2016 version of the 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW.
Marcus
I'm 5'8" and 162 lbs (athletic build and play H.S varsity). What size bat do you recommend? DS
Based upon your player's height and weight, we would make a general recommendation of getting this 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB17ZSW) in the 32" length. As long as you feel that your player can handle the resulting 29 oz weight, I would recommend the 32" length of this bat.
Ben
What is the difference in this whiteout bat and the Easton S3Z Z-CORE in swing speed and pop? roger
The differences between the Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) and the 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB17ZSW) are mainly going to be cosmetic. The differences in swing speed and "pop" are going to be extremely minimal, if at all.
Carter
I am 6 feet tall and 210 pounds. I am a sophomore, what bat should I get? Drizzy
Based off of your height and weight we recommend using a 33" in the 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW.
Cooper
What size bat do you recommend for someone 5'8" and 110 lbs (I play HS varsity)? Dyls
Based on your current height and weight, we would suggest a 29" or 30" but the 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW does not come in those sizes. If you really like this bat, I would suggest the 31" 28oz.
Logan
Is this bat end loaded or balanced? cade
The 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW is a balanced bat.
Tori
Which bat is better the Z-Core Speed Whiteout or the Cat 7? The white out was very light, does this limit power? Mik
Both bats are going to be high quality products. The Cat 7 should have a larger sweet spot, while the Whiteout should have a lighter feeling swing weight. Power would not be limited.
Kyle J.
I have last year's Louisville 716, I choose it because I liked the feel better than the 916. Would the Z-Core differ? Would it be worth it to buy this bat or just use my old Louisville? Anthony
The 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB17ZSW) is going to differ from your Louisville Slugger 716 because your 716 features a hybrid design with a composite handle and an aluminum barrel while the Z-CORE Limited Whiteout is an one piece aluminum bat. I would recommend getting the 2017 Easton Z-CORE Hybrid BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB17ZH). It is going to offer a similar feel to that Select 716 you have and is a very good bat.
Carter

The 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW is a one-piece alloy bat, and the MAKO BEAST is a two-piece composite. The pop is going to be pretty similar, but the Z-CORE will feel stiffer since it is a one-piece. The MAKO BEAST will feature a longer barrel, larger sweet spot than the Z-CORE.

The 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW is a one-piece fully alloy bat with a balanced swing weight. It does not feature any composite materials.

The 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW is a great bat to consider for both contact and power hitters alike. For a player of your height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW in a 33 inch model.
Cameron
I'm 6'3" and 200 pounds. What size bat should I use and what is the difference between the Whiteout version and the regular Easton Z-Core SPEED? baseball player 28
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW in a 33 inch model or 34 if you prefer a slightly heavier bat. As for the difference between the two models of Z-CORE bats, it would just be the colorway as both bats feature the same technology.
Cameron
Is there any warranty on this bat? Rob
The 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW features a full twelve (12) month manufacturer's warranty through Easton.
Cameron
My son is only 5'2" and 107 lbs. He has been using -3 since last year. Is this bat balanced (does it feel different than the non-Whiteout bat)? If he held it straight out would one feel lighter than the other? Andrew
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would recommend a shorter BBCOR bat in the 30" or 31" sizes. This 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB17ZSW) will be the same exact bat as the 2017 Easton Z-CORE Speed BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB17ZS) with the only difference being the paint on each bat. As long as the same length is being compared, the bats would feel the same if held out straight.
Ben

My son is 13, turning 14 this summer. He's 5'6" and 131 lbs. He has been using a 2 1/4" barrel, 31" Easton S500 (-13). He can now use a 2 5/8" barrel, what bat would you recommend? ksoo
Since he is close to high school age, I would recommend moving to a -8 or -5 bat to prepare for the -3 BBCOR bats that will be required for high school. However, if you guys wanted to make the direct jump to the BBCOR style bats, that would be fine, just be prepared for a bit of an adjustment period. If you wanted a size of this 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB17ZSW), I would recommend the the 31" or 32" size.
Ben

The 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB17ZSW) and the 2017 Louisville Slugger Solo 617 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBSO6173) are very comparable designs. Both feature one piece aluminum designs and are comparable in performance. The 617 is probably a little more balanced than the Z-CORE option.

We would recommend a 30"-31" length for someone your size. For BBCOR bats, this means it will weigh either 27 or 28 oz.
Kyle J.
Swing weights: I know this one has a rating on it. Balanced and pretty fast. I think Easton is the only one who does this. Are there any other comparable bats from other companies? I need a very balanced low swing weight bat. spb
The Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW does have a very balanced and quick swing weight. The 2017 Rawlings Velo BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB7V is one of our most balanced bats that we have and does have a low swing weight.

Based on your players height and weight, we suggest a 33" model of the 2017 Easton Z-CORE SPEED Limited Whiteout BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZSW. If you are worried about the jump up to a -3 though, the 32" size would work as well.

He has a 31 inch, 28 oz bat and it is to much bat. What do you think I can do to help him? Is there a smaller bat for him? peanuts dad
Some bats are available in a 30"/27oz size. This 2017 Easton Z-Core Speed Limite Whiteout model is one of them. This would be a good option.
Kyle J.

I'm a high school freshman. I am 5 foot 6 and 160. I don't think I have a great bat speed. What bat can be the best for me? Also, is 32/29 too heavy for me? Lee
I would recommend an aluminum model as most of those have the best swing weights. Something like the Marucci Cat 7 (MCBC7) or the Rawlings Velo (BB7V) would be good options. Both are very good performers and sold well for us. For your height and weight, a 32" model should be ok.
