easton S3 2017 Izy D coach

Pros: my son has hit with a Marucci hex, DiMarini Zen, and the Louisville 917 composite bats, and rather an easton S3 allow all day over those bats. The S3 has great pop, great price, great sound off the bat, great balance, excellent bat! According to my 10 year old

Cons: like every alloy bat it dents easily

Best than other bats seen Steve coach

Pros: Great feel..hard hitting..balls scream off the bat. Confidence maker. You will hit home runs. Makes you buy the next size up. My son was real close to hitting the fence until he got this bat. 16 home runs between two fall seasons and a spring season. Not really sure if it's the bat or just his abilities or the confidence of having it in his hands. Plus no dents like some other reviews stated before. He hits hard and uses it even on pitching machines. No issues out of this bat at all.

Easton S3 Paul parent

Pros: Price

Cons: Bought Easton S3 30 inch 20 ounce to primarily use as a workhorse in the batting cage and save the composite MAKO for games. The S3 has a very small sweet spot. That's minor compared to the vibration. The handle is very thin and the grip is very thin. First couple hits my son almost cried because of the vibration. I decided to take some cuts with the bat to show my son that it's just him, but the first couple hits, I dropped the bat and my hands stung like crazy. This bat vibrates a ridiculous amount that it really hurts. I then bought a lizard skin grip for about $7 and wrapped it right over the existing grip, and that seemed to give a little padding to reduce the vibration, but it still vibrates slightly. Would return the bat if I could. Looking to just eat the money I paid for it and buy something else with less or no vibration. My older son has an Omaha 517 that he uses in the cage and there is little to no vibration. I recommend buying that bat if you're looking for a cheap alloy.

So far so good!! Byron Parent

Pros: My kid is 10 years old and he just started practicing again with his travel team. We live in a cold area and he's only using his Easton S3 and he loves it. He likes the sound of the pop and the Sweet spot. I have noticed that he is hitting alot better and his old bats. I will keep you on the progress and when he starts using the Easton ghost X. Happy practice

Cons: No cons at this time. Let us put it to practice some more, and I will add more info

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL17S310? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

I know bats are generally off an ounce or 2. How does a 29 x 19 measure up in weight? Gable112
The 2017 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL17S310 actually comes in pretty close to the listed weight, within .2 ounces over or under.
Logan
(1) Any sales for this bat? (2) Can this be used in 13 year old division for Babe Ruth? (3) Out of all bats, which bat would you choose for a 13 year old Babe Ruth player (2-5/8" barrel)? s
(1) For the current time being we will not have any sales going to offer an additional amount off the listed price of this 2017 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL17S310). (2) This 2017 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL17S310) will not be allowed within the 13-15 year old division of Babe Ruth because it does not feature BBCOR certification [I might recommend double-checking the rules as I could be wrong on my interpretation]. (3) If you wanted a BBCOR bat to consider, I would recommend the 2017 Easton Z-CORE Speed BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB17ZS).
Ben
Looking to find correct bat size for 9 yr old. He likes the Easton S3. He is 4'8" tall and weighs approx 85-90 lbs. He plays on a travel ball team and is currently using a DeMarini Voodoo RAW 29/19. He was having trouble getting through the zone and his hitting was on and off. When his coach changed his bat and he started using an Easton 2015 S2 28/18 his hitting improved 100%. What would you suggest as bat size? Should we stay with 28/18 or 29/19 Easton S3? New season is starting so don't want a bat that is the wrong size. Barbara Henderson
Based on your player's height and weight, we would recommend the 2017 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL17S310 in a 29 inch model. Some of the issue he may have been having with the DeMarini Voodoo RAW is that this bat is end-loaded. This can cause the top hand to drop and thus cause a longer swing. If he feels more comfortable with a 28/18 then we would recommend staying with this size or asking his coach if a 29/19 balanced bat will be okay to use.
Cameron
My son just turned 10 years old. He is 5' tall and 75 lbs. Right now, he has an Easton S2 2 1/4 barrel bat (30"/17 oz). What size do you think would be good for a 2 5/8" barrel bat? scott
Based upon your player's height and weight, my general length suggestion for a 2 5/8" barrel diameter bat would be the same 30" length your player is using currently. If you feel that your player is ready for the 30"/20 oz size of bat, I would recommend this 2017 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL17S310) very highly in the 30"/20 oz size.
Ben
My son is 49 inches tall and weighs about 50 lbs. Is this a good bat for him? If so, should I get him the 28 inch or 29 inch bat? Mike
This 2017 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL17S310) would be a solid bat for your player. Based on his height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of getting this bat in the 28" length as long as he can handle the 18 oz weight.
Ben
My 11 year old is about 90 lbs and has been using a Marucci 29 inch. Would this bat with a 30 inch 20 ounce be recommended? MP
A 30'' 20 oz would be a great fit in the 2017 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL17S310 for your son.
Max
Is this bat still legal to use with the new bat rules? big bats
If your league is requiring the new USA certification, then the 2017 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL17S310 would not be legal. It is USSSA certified and not USA certified.
Jason
My son is almost 12 and weighs about 80 pounds. He has been using the Worth Prodigy 28/18 but I think that is too small now. Would you recommend a 29 or 30? He is also on the shorter side. Becca
To determine the best size to get the 2017 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL17S310 in we use an algorithm that incorporates the player's height and weight. If you let us know the height of your player we would be more than happy to let you know the proper length to select.
Cameron
What's the difference between the 2017 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL17S310) and the 2017 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL17S310B)? Lonzo
This 2017 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL17S310) has a 2 5/8" barrel diameter and differs from the 2017 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL17S310B) which has a 2 3/4" barrel diameter. besides that difference, everything else on the bats will be the same.
Ben
I have read many reviews online and I have seen repeated posts about this bat denting very easily. Can you give me any insight into this? Tony
Just like all aluminum alloy bats, the 2017 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL17S310 is going to be susceptible to potential denting. This is much like how composite bats are going to be prone to cracking. The S3 utilizes Hyperlite Matrix Alloy which is actually used to provide increased durability for the barrel of the bat.
Tyler
I have an 11 year old that is 5 foot 1 inches and weighs 120 lbs. Would this bat be a good fit? gary
Yes, it would. Based on his height and weight we would recommend a 31"/21 ounce 2017 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL17S310.
Carter
Is it possible to just get the Mako -10 2 5/8? dinok
Unfortunately we do not have anymore of the Easton MAKO -10 models with a 2 5/8" barrel diameter. We do however have the 2017 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL17S310 in stock.
Cameron
I have tall slender 12 year old, his 26 oz is too heavy. Would this be proper? Buddy
This bat would certainly work, although we generally recommend a -8 drop bat for a 12 year old to help them transition to BBCOR in a few years.
Kyle J.
Is this a USSSA bat? Lisa
Yes, this 2017 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL17S310 is a USSSA approved bat.
Tyler
My son is 10 yrs old, weighs 170-172 lbs and is 5" 5' tall. Would the 29' -10 bat be the right fit for him? He is a tall and solid kid. Johnny Z
Based on your player's height and weight, I would recommend either a 32" or a 33" bat. If this is a significant jump from your player's previous bat, I might suggest sticking with the shorter 32" size this season. The longest option available for the 2017 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL17S310) would be the 32"/22 oz size. If you wanted to go with a 33" bat, you would need to move up to a drop 5 length to weight ratio. That weight might be too heavy for a 10 year old.
Taylor
My son is 11, 5'3" and 143 lbs. With his wingspan, diagrams say that he should have a 32" but we are being told that he should not use over 21oz. Thoughts? Advice? Dustyvj
Based on your player's height and weight, I would suggest a 31" length. At his age, players typically use a -10, so the 31" 21 ounce 2017 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL17S310 should be a good fit.
Logan
Is this bat BBCOR or USA certified? Cooper Goodnow
The 2017 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL17S310 does not feature a BBCOR or USA stamp. It is USSSA certified.
Carter
My son is 4'8 and is a solid 103 lbs. He just turned 10 and plays all stars this summer. He has been swinging a 30/20 Beast 2 3/4 barrel well but we like the S3. Based on his size do you recommend the 30/20 S3 or the 29/19? Lou
Based on your player's specifications, as well as bat history, I would recommend the 30" 20oz. size of the 2017 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL17S310.
Tyler
My son is 9, 4'7'and a solid 98lbs, what would be a good bat size him? moving up
Given your player's specifications, I would recommend a 30" bat version of this 2017 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL17S310.
