Louisville Slugger Omaha Bat Review

Louisville Slugger Omaha Bats

For decades, baseball hitters have debated over the best aluminum alloy baseball bats. Well known models like the Marucci CAT, Louisville Slugger Solo, and DeMarini The Goods have been best sellers year over year. But, don’t sleep on Louisville Slugger’s longest tenured model — the Louisville Slugger Omaha. One of the most consistent bats, year in and year out, the Omaha is a traditional one-piece aluminum alloy bat. To help you further decide if the Omaha is the right bat for you, we’ve created a complete bat breakdown that includes: bat reviews, notable features, and who benefits from swinging the Omaha the most.

Omaha Bat Breakdown

The Louisville Slugger Omaha baseball bats have available options approved for USA baseball, USSSA baseball, and BBCOR. The one-piece, fully aluminum design creates a stiff, traditional feel on contact so you will feel vibrations when you miss the sweet spot on the Omaha. Some players like this feedback, while others might choose a more forgiving design like a composite baseball bat. What hitters (and parents) love most about the Omaha is the value. Considering it doesn’t boast the number of features as some of the other popular models, the Omaha’s price tag is considerably less than many of the game’s most popular bats.

Omaha Bat Reviews

★★★★★ Jason [COACH]

Pros: This bat has both pop out of the wrapper, and a very nice blend of balance and power. He also liked it better than several 2 piece bats he compared it with in the same cage.

Cons: As expected, there is more feel on good hits and more vibration on mishits than with the two-piece models he compared with. Didn’t bother him though so the vibration control works fine.

★★★★★ Andres [PLAYER]

Pros: Smooth swing, no vibrations, light bat, great pop

Cons: Grip could be better, would suggest adding your own.

★★★★★ Phil C [PARENT]

Pros: Great balance, length to weight ratio excellent. 12 yr old son states it awesome. Plays travel and has made better contact with the ball.

Cons: Haven’t found any yet.

Who should swing the Omaha?

One of the best elements to the Louisville Slugger Omaha is that any style of hitter can have success swinging one. The traditional build makes it stiffer on contact, which allows hitters to maximize their power potential. The barrel is large (especially in the USSSA-approved version) and the sweet spot is plenty large enough to do some real damage. With that, the Omaha does tend to swing heavier in comparison to other bats so it may be best suited for those with a little more strength. If you are a bat shopper looking for one of the best value bats in baseball, the Omaha is a great selection.

When did Louisville Slugger start making bats?

Louisville Slugger began making bats in 1884. They have continued to make some of the best wood bats, baseball bats, fastpitch softball bats, and slow pitch softball bats for the past century.
