Bat Construction

The Combat B2 ATB showcases a unique one-piece, fully composite construction with a massive barrel. As mentioned before, new, powerful ATB composite materials will make up the entire model. This technology employs computer-controlled precision to create the most technologically advanced barrel in the game. Amazingly, this composite material will arrive hot-out-of-the-wrapper and will not require any form of a break-in period.

The B2 continues to defy logic by delivering a noticeably balanced swing weight. This is a direct result of the Spoked End Cap implemented to seal the end of the barrel. The end cap also serves to evenly distribute weight throughout the profile of the model allowing for effortless swings from players of all ages.

Lastly, the barrel diameter will vary depending on the particular model you desire. The Combat B2 ATB will be released in both USSSA & BBCOR-approved versions. The USSSA Combat B2 ATB (-11 & -10) models will provide a massive 2 ¾” barrel diameter, while the USSSA Combat B2 ATB (-5) and the BBCOR Combat B2 ATB (-3) models will each sport 2 ⅝” barrel diameters.

Performance

As we tested the new Combat B2’s, a prevailing thought continued to reign supreme… Where are the vibrations?! Every hit, regardless of quality, was smooth through contact. As a result, it appears as though the latest version of the Combat B2 seems to have mastered vibration reduction technology. While other manufacturers are developing multi-piece models with vibration-grounding connection points, Combat continues to lead the way with one-piece models, no less.

The Combat B2 ATB is more than just a soft pillow to lay your head on though. Its' massive barrel packs-a-punch. Sporting a huge sweet spot, the B2 delivers high-quality contact on every hit. Who Should Swing a Combat B2 ATB?

The short and simple answer here is that any USSSA or BBCOR player would greatly benefit swinging the Combat B2 ATB. Sadly, there is not currently a USA-approved version of this bat. The composite construction reduces vibrations while the one-piece design delivers a stiffer, more powerful feel on contact. In conclusion, unless you or your player specifically wants an end-loaded bat, the Combat B2 would make for a great choice.
