USSSA Bat Rules for Youth Baseball - JustBats.com Buying Guide
Watch to ensure your youth bat is approved for play in USSSA play!
Transcript
If you play in a USSSA league, are between the ages of 6 and 13, and use a bat with a 2 ¼ inch barrel, listen up! There are some important changes coming that you’ll want to be aware of. The most important, is that beginning January 1st, 2014, all bats must have the newest USSSA 1.15 BPF mark in order to be used in USSSA play. For now, as long as your bat says USSSA 1.15 BPF somewhere on the barrel, or you’re using an approved wood bat, you should be fine. If you ARE using a wood bat, you should check out the Licensed Baseball Bat Manufacturer list on usssa.com BEFORE you buy. Also keep in mind that if your bat ever becomes heavily damaged, the umpire may declare it illegal to use. Also, if you alter your bat to improve performance, you could be suspended if you’re caught. If you’re ready to pick out your new youth bat, head over to JustBats.com where you’ll find over a hundred options to choose from! If you still need help deciding, give our customer service team a call and we’ll be happy to help!
