Description

Easton truly believes that every player should have the opportunity to hit for power. However, the road to power hitting is different for every player. Some players need extra bat speed to reach their full power potential, while others need more weight and a bigger barrel. That's why Easton is changing the game this season and taking an approach to bats that no other manufacturer has ever tried before. Introducing the POWER Brigade; Two series, one distinct result. Whether you prefer the fast swinging Speed Series or the heavier extended barrel XL Series, POWER will be your outcome. Forget flashy designs and gimmicky names, these bats produce RESULTS. The Speed Series (S1, S2, S3) features the lowest Moment of Inertia (M.O.I.) on the market to create light swing weights and generate more power. On the other side of the spectrum, the XL Series (XL1, XL2, XL3) features extra long barrels designed to give players expanded hitting zones and more mass in the barrel, generating more power in every swing. Easton really does strive to fulfill the preferences of any type of player as both series come in two-piece IMX Composite designs (S1 and XL1), two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Aluminum hybrid designs (S2 and XL2), and one-piece THT100 Aluminum designs (S3 and XL3). As for the materials, Easton's patented IMX Composite has proven to be one of the highest performing materials in the game year after year, while THT100 Aluminum provides superior dent and crack resistance. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology and you have a new line of bats that is second to none. Easton: We Believe In Power! This bat features the USSSA 1.15 stamp and is approved for play in and beyond. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: Very well rounded bat.Huge barrel gives you a MASSIVE sweetspot and the best pop.The grip on the bat is excellent and the bat never stings.5 stars, recomended to power hitters and bigger kids looking for bigger hits

Cons: Since it is a composite you do have to break it in but it only gets better with every hit.The bat is very top heavy but nothing no player can overcome. The white grip gets dirty very quick, but its not that big of a deal.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton XL1 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL11X15? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Does bat have more pop than the New Combat b3? Does it have better technology than the New Combat b3? What is your opinion? dodgerblue
both bats are going to be great options, The XL1 is going to have more flex and the B3 is going to be stiffer, other than that they should perform very similarly.
Sean
Is my power hitter son going to get more power and distance from the xl1 because its composite or the xl3 because its a stiff handle zach4418
The XL1 tends to have more power due to the composite barrel. Both of those bats have good pop. The Xl1 will have a more end-loaded feel compared to the Xl3
KG
will a power hitter using the speed series, have less power than they would using the XL series? twinsfan
Not, necessarily. It will increase his bat speed. But should not lessen his power.
Linda
What is the difference between the xl1 and the Omen? Andy
Both are 2 piece bats, the Omen will swing a little lighter, but the XL has more mass, mass=power.
Linda
This bat says it has a usssa stamp on it. but in all the pictures you have, even zoomed way in , I cannot find any stamp at all. It is mandatory that there is a stamp. Lou
This bat is stamped. Go to the additional photos, the bottom left picture, click on it. The picture will enlarge and you can see the USSSA & BPF 1.15 stamp on the bat in a silver printing.
John
Is this bat as endloaded as it is marketed to be. A.J
Yes, this bat is going to have an endloaded feel
Sean
Last year my kid (12U) had the Easton Speed (BSS14XL) and simply crushed the ball. How does the XL1 compare. He has to go to -5 this year. Greg
Out of all the current Easton bats on the market, the XL1 will be the most comparable to the Stealth Speed. The Stealth Speed was one of the highest, if not the highest performing bat Easton has produced. The XL1 is Easton's new top of the line bat and should be a great option. The XL1 will also feel a little more end-loaded than the Stealth Speed.
TJ
My son is more of a line drive hitter. He may occasionaly get one deep. Which would be better? Mark
This bat has more of an end-loaded feel which is for power hitters. This bat will add power to his swing. This bat has very good pop and a nice sweet spot.
KG
How does this bat compare to the 2012 Louisville Slugger TPX EXOGRID2: SL12EX25. JV
They are both -5 and have the USSA 1.15 BPF stamp on it. The difference as to how they are made is the Exogrid is a 1 pc alloy with composite inserts into the handle. Where the Easton is a 2 pc fully composite bat.
Linda
for 2012 Little League Jr League do all bats with composite barrels now have to be -3 only? frank
The information given to us says that all bats MUST be stamped EITHER, USSSA 1.15 BPF (which will allow smaller guys to still use lighter bats) OR it must be stamped BBCOR (which is a mandatory -3 weight which is great for the older bigger guys) or be a wood bat.
Linda
How end loaded is the bat? I like alloy. What's the difference with composite Miller
Easton did design this bat to have a slight endloaded feel for power hitters. Composite bats generally outperform alloy barrel bats. Alloy barrel bats will be hot right out of the wrapper. Composite barrel bats will have a break in period. We recommend around 150 swings off the tee or soft toss. Also, make sure you rotate the barrel a quarter of an inch every 15-20 swings to fully break in the composite fibers throughtout the barrel.
John
What exactly does end loaded mean? Miller
It means the bulk of the weight of the bat is distributed toward the end of the barrel. Giving it a heavier feel, which transfers into power coming through the ball.
Linda
What is your personal preference omen or xl1? Miller
Personally, I like the XL1, I like the weighting on it, the Omen swings a little lighter than I personally, like.
Linda
can I get a 23oz XL1? DAS
This bat does not come in that size.
Linda
Which bat hits Better the xl1 or the Easton omen Jaufue
Both the Easton XL1 and the Easton Omen are going to hit pretty much the same, as they are both a two piece design. The XL1 is going to be better for power hitters, has an extended barrel with a larger sweetspot, and tends to be more end heavy. The XL1 is going to be a good choice for a power hitter. The Easton Omen is also going to have larger sweet spot, but tends to be more balanced. The Omen is also going to have a lower M.O.I which will create a feeling of a lighter swing weight and faster swing speed. The Omen is going to be a good choice for a power hitter.
Jennifer
13 year old, smaller build, contact hitter. Has been using Voodoo black and Stealth Speed last 3 years and loved them. Trying to go to a 30 inch -5 for HS prep. Will this bat be comparable to his previous bats? Is Easton plannning on making the S1 in -5? If so, which one, S1 or XL1, would be better? Pops
The S1 will not be manufactured in a -5. The XL1 may be a little more endloaded compared to the Stealth and Voodoo. I would take a look at the -5 Omen and -5 Voodoo.
Tyler
What is the difference between the Easton XL1 -5 and the Easton XL3 -5? Cpuddin
The XL1 is two-piece all composite. The XL3 is one-piece all alloy
Tyler
Just purchased and received. Wondering how long for break in. Dawson
We recommend taking between 150-200 hits either off of a tee or soft toss, starting out at about 40% and gradually increasing the closer you get to the 200 hit mark. Also, make sure you are rotating the bat about 1/4 of an inch in between each hit and are using the same balls you would normally use in a game.
Jennifer
I'm deciding between the senior league XL1 and XL3. I like the 2 piece but I am a power hitter. What bat would be the best bat? homer boy
If you are more of a power hitter, I would suggest going with the S3. This one piece design will be pretty stiff and helps generate more power. Two piece designs are typically more preferred by contact hitters or those who may not have much natural power.
Jennifer
My son is 13U, some tournaments have no restrictions, other do, I see this is approved by USSSA 1.15, but what about BBCOR, are there even -5 which are BBCOR approved? Larry
All BBCOR bats will be -3 Adult bats. USSSA stamped approved bats come -5 and lighter.
Kris
How does the XL3 compare to the XL1 or the XL2? I was wondering which is better for a contact hitter, out of the 3? Longo
If you are looking for a contact hitter, I would suggest going with the XL1 or XL2. Both of these bats have a two-piece design which is most preferred by contact hitters. The S3 is a great bat, but since it has a one-piece design, it is usually better suited for a power hitter.
Jennifer
I have a question what is the difference between composite and BBCOR? Also, what is most like the Easton Omen? the one percent
"BBCOR" is a certification that all adult bats must have in order to be legal for use. Composite bats are just bats that are made out of composite, or a mix of carbon fiber and other materials. Adult composite bats will have to be BBCOR certified in order to be legal for use. The Easton Omen has been discontinued and replaced with the Easton S1.
Jennifer
How long does it take to break in? bo man
We recommend about 150-200 swings off the tee or soft toss. We also recommend rotating the bat about a quarter of an inch every 15-20 swings to help fully break in the composite fibers.
John
Is the bat BBCOR? flemball
The Easton XL1: SL11X15 is not BBCOR certified. All BBCOR bats are going to be -3.
Nick
I have a Easton omen-5 but it died and I need a drop 5 composite. Will the Omen drop five and XL1 drop five feel and swing the same? Anonymous
The Easton XL1 SL11X15 will be slightly more end weighted as compared to the Omen -5. For additional information feel free to contact our customer service at 1-866-321-2287.
Shelbe
I need a -5 for my middle school team and I would like to know if you had any suggestions on what type of bat I should get? Right now i use the Easton Surge -10. I usually hit leadoff. I'm short but I get hit a lot of singles and triples. Once in a while a homer. wouldlikesuggestions
Here is a link to view our most popular -5 bats. The Marucci Black, the DeMarini Vexxum, and the Anderson NanoTek would be comparable to that Easton Surge you currently use. http://www.justbats.com/products/length%20to%20weight%20ratio~-%205/barrel%20diameter~2%205-8/
Tom
I need this bat in a 32/27. Do you now where I could find a 32/27? Big Dog
We receive shipments on a regular basis. As soon as we receive the Easton XL1 in our warehouse, our website will be updated immediately.
Kara
Hey is this bat as good as a Omen -5? Just wondering because can't find a 32' 27 oz Omen. Do you have an idea where I can get one from? Thanks. bigfella
The Easton Omen is discontinued. The Easton XL1 replaced the Easton Omen and will be just as high performing as the Easton Omen.
Kara
Is composite lighter then aluminum or are they the same? king
It really depends on the combination of metals used and type of composite used, however, both are going to be similar in weight after the production process.
Tyler
I am moving my son up to drop 5 in prep for hs ball. He currently is swinging a -10 XL1 for rec and a drop 8 voodoo in travel. He has a very fast swing speed and is a power hitter, which do you think would be more suited for him the xl1 or the new '13 voodoo either in drop 5? confused
That all depends on which bat he had more success with... the Voodoo or XL1. It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate.
Tyler
Is there going to be a half and half bat for Easton, drop 5, new for 2013? King
The 2013 Easton XL1 will be released in a -5 length to weight ratio. They will be available in November.
Nick
Is the Easton 2012 XL1 -8 Big Barrel Approved for PONY League Tmichael
Yes, the Easton XL1 is approved for Pony play in 2012. Here is the link for Pony's bat rules: http://www.thebaseballbat.com/2012-bat-rules.html
John
When are the 32 inch drop 5's gong to be in stock? JDIRTY30
The Easton XL1 model has been discontinued so we will not be receiving anymore in stock. We will be receiving Easton's new line out mid November.
John
Is bat approved for Babe-Ruth U13 play? Mike
The Easton XL1 is not approved for play in Babe Ruth. Babe Ruth does not alloy composite barreled bats unless it is BBCOR certified.
John
I have heard rumors about a new bat in this series coming out in November of this year. The bats that were seen in the Little League World Series. Is this true? If so, how much would you guess they would be? Davie Wavey
Yes, the 2013 models of the Easton XL Series and Easton S Series are being released in November. They are the bats that were seen in the Little League World Series. Easton's contact number is 1-888-259-1297. They will have all of the information, as far as prices go.
Nick
When do you expect Easton to release the 2013 XL1 series Youth baseball bats? George
Easton will release their new models in November 15th. Our website is live so once we have them in stock then they will be available on the website.
John
I see conflicting responses about which bat is better for power hitters XL1 or XL3. Can you shed some light on this? Also, do you have any insight on the replacements for the XL series? Looking to see which 2013 Easton will be a good choice for a power hitter//// Scott
I can tell you from experience at the High School and Collegiate level, it ALL comes down to the personal preference of the player. Neither the XL1 nor the XL3 is better than the other. Both are endloaded bats great for stronger hitters with higher swing speeds. If you are unsure about what you prefer as a hitter, it's always recommended a player stick with the same type of bat they have used previously with success. For instance, if you have have had the most success in the past with a one-piece alloy bat, you should get the XL3. If you have had the most success in the past with a two-piece composite bat, or a any other two-piece bat, you should get the XL1. Easton's new 2013 bats haven't hit the market yet, but there will not be any major overhauls in terms of construction or performance.
Tyler
does this bat come in -8? harold
The -8 version of the XL1 is: 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League.
Tyler
Reading through your reviews your experts have different answers about the same bat. Some of them say the XL1 is the better power hitting bat and some of the others say its the XL3 alloy only one. My son is a POWER HITTER and he used the omen -5 last year. Is the best POWER HITTING type bat for him this year at a -5 going to be the XL1 or the XL3? I know they are both great bats and I know the composite and all alloy difference of the two but which is the best POWER HITTING bat? confused dad
It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate. Since he is a power hitter and has previously used the Omen, the XL1 would be the best option as it is also a two-piece composite bat like the Omen, and has a endloaded feel preferred by stronger hitters.
Tyler
How long does it take to break in the XL1 ? lucky
We recommend taking 100-200 swings off of a tee or soft toss. Rotate the barrel about 1/4 inch each swings. We also recommend not to use composite bats in batting cages that use yellow dimpled balls.
Kara
Do you have this in a 32 inch? batman
Unfortunately we no longer have the 32" model of the Easton XL1: SL11X15 Senior League bat. Since it is a discontinued model, we will not be getting any more in.
Marcus
This is a question about the XL1 but could be about any drop 5 bat. my son is a small 13 year old. he will be playing high school ball next year. He doesn't have a lot of pop so what would be the best -5 for him. He has quick hands and consistently makes contact but needs as much help as he can get with the bat? brad
A more balanced bat would be recommended based on your information. The more balanced -5 bats are the Marucci Black: MSB115, 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha: SL1365 and 2013 Rawlings VELO: SLVEL5.
Tyler
Are there weather restrictions on using this bat? What should the minimum temperature be before using it? Eric
Like all composite bats, I do not recommend using the Easton XL1: SL11X15 Senior League below 55 degrees Fahrenheit.
Kevin
What makes a Senior League bat different from a Youth bat? Mike
The Easton XL1: SL11X15 Senior League may also be referred to as a Youth Big Barrel. Senior League (Youth Big Barrels) will have either a 2 5/8" or a 2 3/4" barrel diameter, whereas a Youth bat will have a 2 1/4" barrel.
Katie
My son plays on a 14 travel team in the Gopher State League in Minnesota. His bat has to be a -5 and needs to have the new USSSA 1.15 mark or be a qualified BBCOR bat. It also has to be a 2 3/4" or less barrel. Would this bat qualify? blackhoof
The Easton XL1: SL11X15 Senior League fits all of those qualifications. The XL1 is a -5 with a 2 5/8" barrel, and it has the newest USSSA "thumbprint" stamp on it.
Katie
When will you have more of these available in 32" 27 oz? Lee
The Easton XL1: SL11X15 Senior League is a discontinued model, so we will not be receiving any more of these bats in any size in stock.
Marcus
My son is 13 and this will be his 1st year in Babe Ruth league (this is in town rec baseball). I got this bat from this website (30" 25oz) but was wondering if he will be allowed to use it. Does the fact that it is a composite bat matter? If not allowed to use it, what would be a comparable bat in the $200 range? Linda
The Easton XL1: SL11X15 is a full composite youth big barrel bat, which makes it illegal in the 13-15 year old division of Babe Ruth. The 2013 Easton XL3: SL13X35 is a -5 bat from Easton that will be legal in Babe Ruth that would be a great option.
Tyler
I used the CF5 31" 21 oz. last year and had great results, hit my first HR(s). Bought the Marrucci Black 30" 25 oz. this year at age 13 and had mixed results. The Marucci Black does not seem heavy to me but not great pop so far and wondering if I should try the Easton XL1? The XL1 seems more like the CF5 from what I read on your sight. Garret
The Easton XL1: SL11X15 Senior League will feel similar to the 2012 DeMarini CF5. Both are two-piece bats with an end loaded feel. The Easton XL1: SL11X15 Senior League will have great pop as well.
Kara
Will you please try to get a 32"? #linedrive
The Easton XL1: SL11X15 Senior League bat is a discontinued product. We will not be adding any more back into inventory as we have the 2013 models in stock.
Mac
I'm 12 years old and I am 5' 3" 95 pounds. I used the Easton Omen this past year and I need a (-5). What bat do you recommend the Easton XL1, XL2, or XL3? Jake
The Easton XL1 is the model that replaced the Easton Omen. It is a two-piece composite bat.
Damon
What is the difference between the 2012 XL1 and the 2013 XL1? kyler
The 2013 Easton XL1: SL11X15 Senior League uses upgraded composite material in the handle for better durability. The composite material in the barrel did not change.

I am looking to get a -5 bat for my son. What are main differences between the 2012 and 2013 models? Also how does the Marucci Black stack up against this Easton? Ian
The Easton XL1: SL11X15 Senior League is a two-piece composite, whereas the Marucci Black is a two-piece hybrid design with a composite handle and alloy barrel. The XL1 is end loaded, whereas the Black is well balanced. The composite in the handle of the 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X15 Senior League has been upgraded from the 2012 model.

I am in Pony Baseball can I use the XL1 even if it doesn't have the USSSA stamp? It's a -3 and is BBCOR certified with a 2 5/8" barrel. big boy
The Easton XL1: SL11X15 Senior League is legal in Pony Baseball in the Pony, Colt and Palomino Divisions because it has the USSSA BPF 1.15 stamp and a 2 5/8" barrel. The 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 Adult is also legal for play in these divisions, as if it is a -3, it only requires the bat to be BBCOR certified.
Katie
Is it approved by Little League in the 13-14 division and All Stars tournament? durazo42
Yes, the Easton XL1: SL11X15 Senior League bat does feature the latest USSSA stamp. As for the league and tournament I would check with a league official or coach to check and see if you can use full composite bats.
