Description

The Limited Edition DeMarini CF5 LE uses groundbreaking technology to produce a youth bat that can do some serious destruction on the diamond! Constructing the CF5 LE using their new TR3 F.L.O. Composite, DeMarini has successfully created their lightest swinging bat yet. TR3 F.L.O. (which stands for Fused Layer Optimized) is a cutting edge material that is the result of the random and naturally chaotic fusing of carbon fibers. This creates a more compact carbon that enables DeMarini to make the new CF5 LE lighter and stronger than ever before. The stronger design allows for more even weight distribution, which in turn produces faster bat speeds! This two-piece fully composite design uses Doublewall technology to give it maximum trampoline effect with the largest sweet spot possible! DeMarini's Half and Half two-piece technology makes YOU stronger by silencing feedback on off-center hits and creating the largest, most responsive sweet spot by flexing before impact and recoiling with a burst of ball-launching energy! The CF5 LE also features a Geo End Cap that's focus is on keeping the barrel stiff and not letting energy escape through the end of the bat. This gives each and every hit an extra blast of energy. DeMarini: Born Hardcore! The DeMarini CF5 LE is approved for play in Little League, Babe Ruth, Pony, Dixie, AABC, and USSSA. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Pros: My son is 12 y.o., 5'5", 135 lbs and was using a 31" drop 10 until we needed a new bat so we bought this 32" drop 10 two days before a big tournament, We only had one live hitting session before game use. It took two games to get a feel for this bat. In the 6th inning of the second game, he hit a laser over the center fielder's head to knock in the game tying run-- would've been a HR if there were a 250' fence. After that first 3B, line drives and hard hit balls were all that came off this bat.

Pros: Unbelievable Bat. My 10 yr old was struggling at the plate. He was way out in front of every pitch, grounding everything he hit. He was hitting another brand's composite 31"/19 oz. bat. We borrowed a team mate's bat 31"/20 to see if it would help. Unbelievable! He took the first pitch 250 feet over the fence. Doubled in his next at bat and homered the following at bat after hitting a 300 foot foul ball. Guess what's on his Christmas list for next year! This bat has great balance. Much better than the Easton XL1.

Best bat yet! ProudDad38 parent

Pros: Up until this Summer my son has always used the Easton Speed. He was mainly an OBP machine with gap power - lots of doubles and singles. He grew out of the Speed and needed new bat for All Stars/Fall Ball so we got the LECF5 (our first try with Demarini).....26 games and 10 Homers later we wont go back, The bat is incredibly balanced, large sweet spot and amazing pop off the barrel. Sadly he's outgrowing it (it seems to get more jump the more we use it), but I'm pumped for the new CF6 this fall. Oh, and the bat looks sick too!

Cons: None. Really, I don't have one compliant.

hotter all the time bob coach

Pros: This bat out of wrapper was not hot at all and i was sick over spending the money for it. So we went back to the voodoo that we had and they are great bats too but after about 600-800 balls in cage and practice the cf5 came to life and the voodoo went back to the bag for good. Buy this bat in the rite wieght for your kid and you will not be sorry after you get it broke in. Power hitters will love this bat!

very good bat for price! Jay21riverbank coach

Pros: good bat. great pop that is in class with mako and XL1.swings more like XL1. I'm a coach/parent of a youth travel team. In my opinion, buying the best equipment is essential in a players development and confidence at the little league level. my son is 10 and a gap to gap line drive hitter. he's more comfortable with the mako. but if u wanna save $. this is the bat to get hands down. DeMarini surprised me with this bat. but if u have the $... go mako or XL1. Easton topped everyone in 2014. Period!

Cons: little top heavy. Built more for a youth player on the strong side.

Son's Favorite Wally Gator parent

Pros: Easy swing control. Explosive power. No stingers. My 10 year old swings a '11 S1, '13 XL1, '13 Sam Bat LL, and this bat. The CF5 LE is the one he commands best. It does not matter what order he practices with, he drives the CF5 with a violent swing that scares me on the mound.

Cons: I'm not expecting the graphics to make it through this season. If it does it's a bonus.

Pros: This bat is full of pop, is very even throughout the weight of the bat and is a great fit for me. I batted a .755 average last year in my freshman carrier of high school with this bat and i believe it helped me out greatly.

Cons: Honestly i can only think of the bat vibrating a bit when i hit the ball without my batting gloves on.

The 2014 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth bat still features the same TR3 F.L.O. Composite material and Geo End Cap as the 2013. The 2014 CF5 is the current model and features the Limited Edition color scheme. They will perform similarly and have similar balance.
Mac

My sons are 12 years old, 5'2" 110lbs and 5'4" 130lbs (twins), and we just bought the 32" 2013 model but the coach says it is way to big. What would you get? sam
The 2014 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth bat will work well for your boys in either a 31" or 32". The 32" will give them room to grow into the bat, but the 31" will probably a perfect fit for right now.
Robert
What is the difference between the 2013 CF5 Youth and the 2013 CF5 LE Youth bat? Jaymie
The only difference between the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFL Youth and the 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth is the change in the bat's graphics.
Marcus
Is DeMarini coming out with a 2014 CF5? Jim
The 2014 CF5 is out now. Then DeMarini will be coming out with the CF6 in the fall.
Chad M.
My son is 10, 4'11" and about 90 lbs. I would classify him as a power hitter. What length and weight would you recommend? Dowd
I'd recommend a 30" 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth for your son.
Kevin
I just got the 2013 model is there any difference between the 2013 and 2014 model? giants28
The 2014 DeMarini will be called the CF6 and will have a upgraded composite called the "Paradox". As well as have a new clutch end cap which dampen the vibration.
Chad M.
My son is very good contact hitter. Currently uses the Easton XL3. Loud ping but not much pop until perfect on sweet spot. Does this have more power? hoedeedoe
An end loaded bat like the 2013 Easton XL3 will generate more power. The 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth is a balanced bat and is better suited for a player who needs to increase their bat speed.
Kara
Do you know when the DeMarini CF6 will be released? Kenny
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 will be available this fall.
Marcus
My son plays competitive baseball. We are looking to purchase a new bat, the CF5 or the COMbat Bubba. He does hit the ball well, with his SP1 there's very little pop, but he used a CF5 this weekend and popped a couple to the fence right away. My questions are what's the difference between Bubba and the CF5. Thanks! Alonzo
Unfortunately, we do not carry the COMBAT Bubba, so we don't have a lot of information on it. However, the Bubba is a big barrel (2 5/8"), one-piece, full composite bat that is well balanced. The 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE is a small barrel (2 1/4"), two-piece, full composite bat that is well balanced and will offer a bit more flex than the Bubba.
Tyler
I do not find the 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth on the Little League bat list. Can it still be used leagally? SMASH
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE is a legal bat for Little League. This bat is the same as the regular DXCFL youth bat and will be identified by the "CFL13" model number on Little League's approved bat list.
Tyler
I recently purchased the 2013 CF5 for my son. It is listed as a "20 oz". bat, but it weighs 22.3 ounces. Will the new CF6 20 oz. be closer to 20 oz? Carter
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth and the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFL are the same bat. The weight will be the same as well. However, according to DeMarini, their bats might weigh more on a scale, but they should swing like a 20 oz. bat.
Kara
My son is a power/contact hitter with above average strength. He is trying to decide whether the CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth imited edition is better than the original 2013 CF5 or the Easton XL1. Which bat do you recommend for home run hitters? joe
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth and the 2013 DeMarini CF5 are the same bat. They are both balanced. The 2013 Easton XL1 is and end loaded bat, best suited for a power hitter.
Kara
Is the 2013 and limited edition one the same bat? Quint
Yes. The 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth bat is the same as the regular CF5, just different graphics/paint job.
Tyler
Is there any difference, other than graphics, between the standard CF5 and the Limited Edition CF5? jim
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth and the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFL Youth bats are the same bat other than the graphic design. There is no change in the material or structure of the Limited Edition model.
Robert
Wheres the sweet spot on the bat? I have a TR3 FLO composite, when I get in the box should I have Demarini label looking at me when I set up, I've hit everything but a homerun this year and I'm very close and I'm hoping this bat will take me there. B
The sweetspot on the 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE is located in the middle of the barrel by the "A" and "R" in DeMarini. The bat can face anyway you like when you step up to the plate.
Tyler
Should I wait for the CF6 or get this bat? Adian Alvarado
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth will offer a lot more flex than the CF6 will. If you like a stiffer feel the new CF6 will be worth the wait.
Noah
When does the Demarini CF6 come out? Aiden
The new DeMarini's should be released 11/1/2013.
Chad M.
Is there a -13 version of the CF5? andyz123
No. Currently, this 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth bat, with its -11 length to weight ratio, is the lightest model of CF5 being produced.
Mac
Is this bat legal for Pony Baseball play? The rule book says there needs to be a stamp that say "Approved for Pony Baseball" located on the barrel that makes it approved for play in Pony Leagues. IanG123
Yes, the 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth will be legal to use in Pony League baseball.
Noah
Does it have a USSSA 1.15 stamp on it? daniel
Yes the 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE features the USSSA BPF 1.15 stamp on the taper.
John
What kind of break in period does this bat have? How does it compare to the Easton power brigade bats? JC
As with all composite bats, we recommend 150-200 hits off of a tee or soft toss for the break in period. This bat would be comparable to the Easton S1 and XL1.
Justin R.
Does this bat need to be broken in? The video for the standard version (non-LE) suggests not because the inner walls do not touch. Guy
We recommend all composite bats to be broken-in before they are used in live pitching, including the 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth. We recommend taking 100-200 swings off a tee or soft toss. Rotate the barrel about 1/4" each swing. We also recommend not to use composite bats in batting cages that use yellow dimpled balls, as they can damage the composite material.
Kara
What is the difference between the 2013 CF5 and the 2013 CF5 LE? la
The only difference between the 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth and the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFL Youth is the graphics.
Kara
My son is 9, 76 pounds, 4'4". He's a contact hitter. Is the 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth 29" 18oz. right for him? If not what would you recommend? He has fairly good power, but would like more. Julian Yankee
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth would be a great bat for him as it is very well balanced. The two-piece composite design will provide for high performance.
Damon
My son is 11 years old and is 5' 5" and 110 lbs. He is hitting a 31", -11, but would like to get a new bat and would like the CF5 LE. He is more of a contact hitter but definitely has the size to be a power hitter. Any suggestions as to size and model in DeMarini and Easton bats. Bones
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth bat, 2014 Easton Mako Youth, or the 2014 Easton S1 Youth bat would be my top picks for you. They would all be very balanced, two-piece fully composite models. All would have very high performance and great durability.
Brandon
You mentioned that the 2014 version will be stiffer. My 9 year old is a power hitter and he needs a new bat for Christmas. Do power hitters do better with a stiffer bat or one with more flex, or does it vary from kid to kid? brian
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth is best for a contact hitter. A stiffer bat is designed for a power hitter.
Kara
Do you know how many bats DeMarini will be releasing this fall? I've read that the CF6 will be stiffer than the CF5. My son swings a Easton S1 and is looking for a comparable DeMarini bat. Do you have any suggestions? Will the stiffness of the CF6 be that much of a noticeable difference? Thanks. mike
As of today, DeMarini will only be releasing the new CF6 to replace the 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth. There will be slight difference in the feel of a stiffer bat. It is still composite, so there will be some flex. The 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth will be the most similar to the Easton S1.
Kara
What does it mean by the bat is limited addition? 2nd baseman
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth is the same bat as the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFL Youth. Manufacturer's make limited edition bats with a different paint color and a limited supply are manufactured.
Kara
Does the CF5 LE have a light swing or is the bat loaded on the end? miggy
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth is going to be a balanced bat with a light swing weight.
Tori
is this bat comparible to the s1 miggy123
Both the 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth and the 2014 Easton S1: YB14S1 Youth are going to be two-piece full composite designs with balanced swing weights. The CF5 uses TR3 F.L.O. composite and the S1 uses an IMX composite barrel and a SIC black carbon composite handle.
Jason
Does the CF5 bat carry a BBCOR certification? Our little league states composite bats need to BBCOR and I want to be sure this one does before purchasing it. Matt
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth is not BBCOR certified. All BBCOR certified bats will be listed as adult bats and will be a -3.
Tori
My 9 yr son is a contact hitter. He is becoming a power hitter as he has been doing a lot of practice. I'm torn between purchasing the DeMarini CF5 versus the stiffer handle on the CF6. It's early, but the reviews on the CF6 do not seem that impressive. Which bat should I go with? Dan
The CF6 will have similar performance to the 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFL-LE Youth. If he is becoming more of power hitter, the stiffer handle on the CF6 would be a good choice for him.
Tori
What are the temperature limits to using this bat? Wyatt
We do not recommend using any non-wood bat, including the 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: (DXCFL-LE) Youth, in temperatures below 55°F (13°C). In those temperatures, the ball becomes much more dense and could damage or shorten the useful life of your bat. Composite can crack, and alloy can dent, so neither material is proven to be better in cold weather, unfortunately.
Mac
I wanted to know which bat is better the DeMarini CF5 or the DeMarini CF5 LE? Jill Graham
The DeMarini CF5 LE (DXCFL-LE) and the DeMarini CF5 (DXCFL) are essentially the same bat. As far as performance and design go, they are going to be identical. The difference would be the paint job and graphics on the bat.
Patrick
Which bat would you prefer the CF5 or CF5-LE? Brady Graham
Actually, both the DeMarini CF5 LE (DXCFL-LE) Youth and the CF5 are the exact same bat just with a different color scheme.
Aaron
Is there a -8 version of the CF5-LE? Lance
Yes there is a drop 8 version of the CF5-LE. Its product code is (DXCFR-LE)
Jackson
My 9 year old is very small 48" and 55 lbs. He's a contact hitter due to his size but swings very well. He currently uses a Demarini voodoo 28/16 but used his brothers 2013 CF5 30/19 choked all the way up. Is the 29/18 too much bat for him? Biz
We would recommend using a 28" or 29" inch bat in the DeMarini CF5 LE (DXCFL-LE) Youth at his current size. You could go either way whichever he is more comfortable with.
Aaron
How do you break this bat in? pet
To properly break-in your DeMarini CF5 LE (DXCFL-LE) we recommend to take 100-200 swings off a tee or soft toss. Rotate the barrel approximately 1/4" each swing. We don't recommend to use a composite bat in batting cages that use yellow dimpled balls.
Kara
My son is 13 years old. He wants to swing a 32" 21 oz. bat. Would you recommend this one? Jose
The DeMarini CF5 LE (DXCFL-LE) is a great option for him. It is a very high performing and durable bat. The 32" is the best size for his age.
Kara
I have this bat and have a game tonight. It is 50 degrees F. Is this warm enough to use this bat? MIggy24
We do not recommend using any bat, including the DeMarini CF5 LE (DXCFL-LE) Youth in temperatures below 55 degrees. It may be too cold to use your bat. The problem is that the fibers in a regulation baseball become more dense in the colder temperatures, which causes the ball to be harder. So when it is contacting the barrel of the bat, it is cause more stress on the bat, than in warmer temperatures. This can cause premature damage to the bat.
Tessa L.
I am 12 years old and 89 lbs. What length should I get? Pirates19
The best way to determine the correct length of bat for a player is by their height and weight. Typically a 12 year old is swinging a 31" model in the DeMarini CF5 LE (DXCFL-LE) Youth. For more sizing information check out our Bat Coach: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Jason
I'm 11 years old 4'7" and 82 pounds. What size bat should I use? Austin
Based on your approximate height and weight, I would suggest a 29" in the DeMarini CF5 LE: (DXCFL-LE).
Merritt
My son is 4'6" and 69 lbs. What size bat should he be using? Dan o
Based on the player's approximate height and weight, the suggested size I would recommend would be 29". However, we only have a 32" available left in the DeMarini CF5 LE Youth Baseball Bat: (DXCFL-LE).
Merritt
Why was this bat discontinued? RJ NEELY
The DeMarini CF5 LE Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL-LE) because this is the older model. The new model of this bat is the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL).

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
