Description

The DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Bat! DeMarini isn't satisfied just having one of the top selling bats in the game. They want to give players the most DOMINANT bat in the game. With this season's Voodoo, they've done just that. The two-piece DeMarini Voodoo Paradox draws its name from its new Paradox Composite handle. This fresh new technology creates an even stiffer handle than in years past. When combined with the Voodoo's X10 Alloy thickness-tuned barrel, this bat becomes ultra-responsive. The X10 Alloy used on the barrel is finely tuned and shaped to provide the thinnest walls, allowing the barrel to be lighter and have a larger than sweet spot than ever before! Inside the barrel, DeMarini has placed their Taper Ring lower than ever to open up the sweet spot even further and reduce the heaviness of the bat. At the end of the barrel, DeMarini's ION V End Cap eliminates vibration by pushing energy back into the barrel for maximum power leading to a great pop of the bat. On the other end, DeMarini introduces their new RCK (Really Cool Knob). This anatomically correct knob may be a small addition, but makes a huge impact by letting the bat rest comfortably in your hand so you don't feel a thing. Better feel, stiffer construction, more power - that's the Voodoo Paradox! DeMarini: Born Hardcore! The DeMarini Voodoo: WTDXVDC is BBCOR Certified and approved for play in high school and college. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: Very light to use with an "Awesome" sweet spot. The weight ratio is right on and I am using the 32"/29oz. bat. The revised knob is a nice touch as well. This is the "Best" bat on the market and the "Best" bat DeMarini has made to date.

Pros: I swung a 32" but it feels like I'm swinging a 31". It's still a really powerful bat and worth the price. People's jaws drop when they see the sick graphic, and it's very responsive.

Pros: This bat is amazing, it has alot of pop, balanced swing weight, and the handle is stiffer than last years model. If i had to recommend a bat this would be first choice guaranteed! The grip is off the charts ridiculous! its comfortable ( no need for batting Gloves.

Cons: Every body wants to use it and it does take a quite a few swings to break in but its not too bad. The grip is extremely slippery when wet though.

Pros: I have been using DeMarini Voodoo 32/29 for 2 yrs. My current one is the white Voodoo 2011/12 (not sure) that is a little over 1 year old. I hit really well for contact and power both with that bat and was worried that this bat might be too heavy for me. It does feel different....pros: lots of pop right out of box, definitely more sweet spot, feels a little more end-loaded but not too much of a difference to change control...just need to get used to it. I am 6', 165lbs and it does help barrel up with more pop on pitches on the outside of the plate.

Cons: It does get heavy feeling after about 20 minutes in the cage. I've learned to warm up with a heavier bat before I swing with this. It does take some getting used to to keep my hands inside with the slight end-load feel. I think overall, it's just me needing to be stronger to work with this bat. It definitely feels like more of a power hitter's bat than my old Voodoo, which worked well either way.

Amazing Bat! Eric player

Pros: The bat has so much pop, when it was delivered and I took the plastic off me and my dad went out and he tossed me some BP. He told me not to hit it hard becuase we were in my front yard. I barely swung and the ball still flew off of the bat. It has a huge sweet spot and I was making solid contact every time. This bat is a steal in my opinion it should be in the 300 to 400 dollar range.

Pros: Huge sweetspot, sick graphics and bat tape. Tons of pop, even when you don't make solid contact. It has me playing pepper with the fences, which means I need to hit the weight room! Slightly end-loaded feel, but still able to be quickly whipped through the zone. Overall, one of the best BBCORs on the market

2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC is a great bat John Hall other

Pros: Grandson hit 2 home runs and a double in one game last night, got walked 4th time @ bat. He had been swinging the Easton XL and switch to the Voodoo last night. He hit the fence a few times with the Easton but none out, last night they cleared the fence by a bunch. He was in Little League the last time he hit 2 HR's in one game. 32.5 is Perfect! Triple BBplayer player

Pros: Had the prior version 32" and bought this one at a 33". I hit a lot of doubles and triples and some HRs with the 32", but felt like I needed more length and weight when I moved up to varsity pitching. I got tired with the 33" and couldn't get it inside fast enough to hit the inside pitch. The 32.5" is perfect. A lot of deep line drive hitters on my team have used it and plan to get the same size for the same reason. Great pop and perfectly balanced.

Competitive Adult League Player Gabe Gottstein player

Pros: Amazing feel, weight, pop, balance, looks killer. I am driving the ball left handed like never before! I am a 5'10",180 pd. switch hitter in a highly competitive Adult League in Nor-Cal. I bought 2 bats this one for my lefty/Will Clark/upper/swat swing. And the Vexum for my righty/level/chop swing. This bat RIPS! I hit 2 out to right center in my first B.P. Session. Just bats had them to me in two days, as guaranteed. I will use them and only them from now on.

Cons: The handle wrap has unwound and bulged due to the way it is wrapped for righties. I will re-wrap the opposite way. No big deal. If they could have done that from the factory for lefty specific, it would be perfect. Otherwise. AWESOME, get this bat.

Very average 15 years old player player

Pros: I am a highschool player and this is my first Demarini bat. I really hated the overall feel of the bat. It is designed to have a top heavy feel but it is too heavy and really slows your swing. This bat also chips and scratches very easily. I have it for a month and it has multiply chips and scratches. Aside from the many downfalls to this bat it has very good pop. I no longer use this bat and use a Marucci instead from 2012 and I love that bat I would reccome d an Easton speed series bat or a Marucci. Don't waste your money.

overall a great bat! KC 4 player

Pros: our high school got this as a team bat and we had about three guys use it and all three hit some deep balls, i used a marucci black for most of the year and hit second in batting average but didn't really like the marucci black. i tried the voo doo our last game and it was awesome. great bat speed with it and good pop and that is after the abuse it has taken from being hauled around with the team and at practices so the bat is very durable. went 5 for 6 in the double header with it and i am going to get one of my own.

Cons: not good for batters that get jammed inside a lot because of the two piece design it will stink alittle...but that is the hitters fault so pretty much 5 star all around!

Voodoo Paradox Raidermoose12 player

Pros: I have used this bat for an entire season and this is the best voodoo I have ever swung in my life, it out does the Overlord by a lot. There is not a Rawlings, an Easton, or a Ripit that can out do this bat. The Voodoo is what it is named for. Paradox means a big change in anything and that's what it is for sure. The sweet spot is HUGE compared to other bats. The thing is that Demirini doesn't even advertise the sweet spot either, the batters just find out. I've been using a 32' and it felt way lighter. This is the ultimate bat. I will definitely continue using this bat and others like it.

Cons: There are no cons to this bat.

Pros: I'm a high school player, and i used a marucci black 2 all of my freshman year but i alwayd felt that bat had the smallest sweet zone, i use to have a 2011 voodoo prior to this but once i saw the sale for the 2014, i had to get one before tryouts, the bat has outstanding pop so far and im very pleased with the feel to it as it reminds me of my old 2011 bat, so far, im really digging everything about this bat

My son loves the DeMarini Voodoo Robert Marks parent

Pros: Switching from a 30" -10 Easton S2 to a 33" -3 BBCOR bat, I was concerned about whether my 13-year old son could manage the extra weight. Well, he dispensed with that the first time he used it in BP. The Voodoo has a huge sweet spot and unbelievable pop. The end-loaded design makes his swing look almost effortless and the ball absolutely flies off the bat. He can't wait to use it in his first game.

Cons: None.

How can you tell when a bat has lost its pop? Or, when it's just the batter not hitting as well? dg
When a bat loses its pop, you will start to notice that it makes a different sound than what it used to make when it we performing at its peak. Sometimes you can tell by the feel of the bat at impact as well, as it may sting a little more and may not feel as smooth to swing. You may also notice the velocity of the ball off the bat is not be like it had been. If the bat is still under warranty, you can contact the DeMarini at 1-800-937-2287.

Based on your age and weight we recommend a 32.5" 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult.

The DeMarini Voodoo Paradox has a higher quality composite handle but will be end loaded for a power hitter. The DeMarini Vexxum's new NVS barrel technology makes it one of the most balanced bats on the market and would be great for a contact hitter.

Both the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR and the 2014 DeMarini CF6 BBCOR will have similar "pop" as they both have to meet the same certifications. The CF6 is a two-piece fully composite design and has a very balanced swing weight. The Voodoo is a two-piece hybrid design and has a slightly end loaded swing weight. The CF6 is best suited for contact hitters and the Voodoo will be better suited for power hitters.

Tori
I'm 5'8, 200 lbs and I recently dislocated my left thumb and I'm a right hand hitter. Is this a light bat to swing with without a bat weight? Reggie
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult is an end loaded bat. We recommend the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR: DXVXC Adult. It is a very balanced bat with great pop.

I'm 5'5 senior in high school and weigh 140 pounds. I recently broke my 2013 Voodoo and was deciding between this, the 2013 Vexxum, 2012 M2M and the 2014 Paradox. I have a very quick swing with a 33", but which bat would you recommend for me? FCBaseball27
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult is a stiff, end loaded bat. It is best for a power hitter. The 2013 Vexxum, is slightly end loaded, but has more flex. The M2M is also a stiff bat that is slightly end loaded. The M2M or the Voodoo would be best for a power hitter. The Vexxum would be better for a contact hitter.
Kara
My son is a freshman and has yet to go through his growth spurt. He is 5' 1" and weighs about 90 lbs. He has a great swing, and I'm looking for something he can control with some pop. joe
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult is an end loaded model better suited for a stronger, power hitting player. I'd recommend a more balanced model to help increase control, such as the 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE BBCOR: DXCFC-LE Adult.
Katie
Can you hit dimpled balls with the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR? ChrisT
We do not recommend using any non-wood bat, including the 2013 or 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult, in commercial batting cages that use yellow "dimple" balls. These balls are more dense than the game balls that the bats are designed to hit. Also, many manufacturers list in their warranty details that hitting these balls will void your warranty against defects.
Mac
Which 2013-14 Demarini bat should a contact hitter use? I've been looking at the CF5 LE and not a big fan of Vexxums. AlexFloyd
The DeMarini Voodoo models will have an end loaded swing weight which are preferred by the power hitters. The DeMarini CF5 and CF6 would be ideal for you. Both models will be a two-piece full composite design with a balanced swing weight. The CF6 model uses DeMarini's Paradox composite which give the bat a huge sweet spot.
John

The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult bat will feel just as end loaded as the Easton XL-Series.
Brandon
What is the biggest performance difference between the XL3 and Voodoo? baller
The XL3 has a stiffer flex with its one-piece design and doesn't eliminate vibration as well as a two-piece bat like the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult does. Both bats are BBCOR certified, so your personal preference to design is going to be a big factor in any difference you seen in performance.
Mac
Is there a difference in the performance of the Voodoo Paradox, and the Voodoo Overlord? original_tec
The OVERLORD has been upgraded with the new D-Fusion Handle technology that eliminates vibration and transfers energy more efficiently to the barrel. Other than that, both models will be constructed exactly the same. Both bats are BBCOR certified, so your personal preference to design is going to be a big factor in any difference you see in performance.
Tessa L.
This is my first year for BBCOR. Should I get the Voodoo or the Vexxum NVS? SMS
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC) Adult has an end loaded swing weight and swings heavier than the Vexxum NVS. The Vexxum NVS has a balanced swing weight and is one of the lightest swing bats on the market. The Vexxum is great for a player using BBCOR for the first time.
Jason

Kara

The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult bat would be a great option for a power hitter. The Voodoo offers a slightly end loaded swing weight which is a design that power hitters typically use best. I would also suggest checking out the Easton XL1 and RIP-IT Prototype (B1403) for other great options that have slightly end loaded swing weights.
Mac
Where is the sweet spot on the bat? jamesb21
The sweet spot for the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC) is on the fat part of the barrel between the "E" and the first "I" in DeMarini.

The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult is going to be slightly end-loaded, whereas the 2014 Rawlings TRIO End-Load BBCOR is going to be completely end-loaded. The Rawlings is also going to be a three piece hybrid design and the Voodoo is a two-piece design.
Merritt
All coaches say I have terrific bat speed. I am more of a line drive hitter would this bat be ok for me? brandonark
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC) Adult will have a slight end load which would be preferred by most power hitters but if you are comfortable with using an end load then this bat would not be one to shy away from. Most line drive hitters will prefer a balanced swing weight.
Aaron
What bat will perform better for a power hitter my 5150, Machine, or should i try this bat? How similar will this bat perform to the New Overlord? Baller since day one
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC) features an end loaded swing weight, which power hitters tend to prefer. The 5150 and the Machine both feature a balanced swing weight, which is preferred by contact hitters. The Voodoo will be similar to the OVERLORD, however, the OVERLORD features the new D-Fusion technology which dampens vibration and extends the sweet spot. The Paradox composite allows it to swing more similar to a one-piece.
Tessa L.
How would you compare this bat to the Easton S1? And is it good for power or contact? E
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult is an end loaded model that features a composite handle and alloy barrel. The Easton S1 will have a composite handle and composite barrel with a balanced swing weight. The Voodoo would be best suited for a power hitter. The S1 would be great for a contact hitter.
Justin R.
How does this bat compare to the 2013 limited edition Voodoo? paul
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo Limited Edition (DXCFC-LE) is very similar in design and performance to the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC). They are both slightly end loaded, two piece hybrid designs. The main difference between the two will be the material the handle is made of. The 2014 Voodoo features the "Paradox Composite" handle which is slightly stiffer than the "TR3 F.L.O. Composite" handle featured on the 2013 Voodoo LE.
Patrick
What bat would be better the Voodoo Overlord or the CF6. I'm not more of a power hitter or contact, kind of in the middle. Which bat is better? james
The DeMarini Voodoo Overlord is a two-piece bat with an alloy barrel and the DeMarini CF6 is a two-piece full composite bat. Both bats have great reviews and are top sellers this year. Alloy bats are hot out of the wrapper and composite bats require a small break-in period. Once broken in, both will be great performing, durable bats.
Austin
Whats the differences between 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC) and the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo overlord? vinny
Both bats have the new Paradox composite. The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC) has the new D-fusion handle which helps to eliminate more vibration and extends the sweet spot through the entire barrel.
Damon

Justin R.
I'm torn between buying the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo and the 2013 Easton S1. What would you recommend, overall? I am definitely a line drive/gap hitter. J-bomb
Both the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo and the 2013 Easton S1 are very quality bats, and you'd be hard pressed to go wrong with either choice. However, I would recommened the 2013 Easton S1 for a line drive hitter such as yourself. The S1 is designed for line drive type hitters, with a balanced swing weight to allow good bat speed through the zone. The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo has a slightly end-loaded swing weight which is typically favored by power hitters.
Kyle
Which is better for a power hitter: this bat or the Voodoo Overlord? papi
I would recommend the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD BBCOR (DXVDC) for a power hitter.
Jackson
I am 5'9" and I weigh 135 lbs. Which bat size would be better for me: a 32" or a 33"? hammer

Brandon
I am torn between the 2014 Voodoo and the 2014 Mako. Which one should I get? johnny baseball
The choice of bat is right for you would be based on your personal preference for the material your bat is made out of as well as the balance. The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC) features an alloy barrel and a slightly end-loaded weight. The 2014 Easton MAKO (BB14MK) features a composite barrel and a more balanced feel. Both bats will be high performance models that will be very durable.
Patrick

Bobby

Aaron

Based on your height and weight, I would recommend a 31" model in the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC Adult). If you go with a balanced model, such as the Vexxum, you may be able to go up to a 32".
Justin R.
Is there a temperature use specification? I have seen other DeMarinis that say do not use in less than 60 degrees. blckshrts
We suggest that you do not use the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC) in temperatures under 55 degrees. What happens is that the ball becomes more dense, which can lead to the denting and cracking of bats.
Jackson
Is the length between the grip and the beginning of the barrel always the same with the Voodoos? Orr
Yes, the grip between the barrel and the grip should be the same on all models of the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC). This is only in the case of the bat being the same length.
Jackson

Justin R.

Mac
My Voodoo has little tiny marks or dents. Is that bad or unusual? johny baseball
If your 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC) Adult has any type of dents or cracks in it then it is not a good thing. That will certainly jeopardize the performance. This bat came with a full 12 month manufacturer's warranty.
Aaron
Are the walls much thinner in this bat compared to the red 2013 model? If so, will it effect the performance that much? campus15
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC Adult) will have the same wall thickness as previous models. The 2014 will feature a Paradox composite handle. This will give the bat a stiffer feel and cut down on the hand sting and vibration. The overall performance will be better as well.
Brandon

The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD BBCOR (DXVDC) Adult will be higher performing than the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC) Adult because of the D-Fusion handle which extends the sweet spot through the entire barrel.
Damon

John
I'm swinging a 32" 29 oz. and yes it does seem like I'm hitting a 31". But, I was feeling the barrel when I got it and in the sweet spot it has a little lump in the barrel. You cant see it by looking but you can feel it. Is this lump supposed to be there? JacobSmith
We have inspected the bats we have in our inventory and they also have a small lump on the sweet spot. This should not affect the performance of the bat.
Kara

The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC) bat is a BBCOR certified baseball bat. ASA certification is generally associated with softball equipment.
Patrick
I swung a Voodoo Overlord and really liked it. Is there a difference in feel between the two? Michael
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC) will not have the D-fusion handle that the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDC) will have. The D-Fusion handle will eliminate the vibration to the handle and redirect the energy back to the barrel. Other than that, the over feel will be very similar for both models.
Kelby

The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo or the new Rawlings Velo? nick

Kelby
this isnt really a question about this bat, but what is the most balanced bbcor out there? i love a light swing weight johnny baseball?
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: (BB14MK) has been extremely popular, and is very well known for having a very balanced weight distribution and sweet spot as well. If you are looking for a bat to feel very balanced and light, the 2014 Easton MAKO would be a great option to check out.
Merritt
Which would you prefer: the DeMarini Voodoo or the Louisville Slugger EXOGRID 3? Zc_PT
Both bats perform very well. The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC) is end loaded and is best suited for a power hitter. The Louisville Slugger EXOGRID 3 BBCOR (BB13EX) is a more balanced bat and would be better for a contact hitter.

My son has an old youth Voodoo bat (2011) and I bought the Vexxum last year but he did not like it and when I hit with it seemed liked it was weighted towards the end and harder to swing. He has quick bat speed and hits the ball hard. Is the new Voodoo closer to the older style that he already has and loved? Also does it matter the Paradox or the OVERLORD? Joe
The 2011 Voodoo and the 2013 Vexxum were both end loaded. The new 2014 Vexxum model is balanced. The end loaded design of the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC) will feel similar to the old Voodoo and old Vexxum. The Voodoo and the Voodoo OVERLORD use the same paradox composite and X10 alloy. The only difference is the OVERLORD uses new d-fusion technology to reduce vibration.

I would recommend a 32" 2014 DeMarini Voodoo (DXVDC) for you based on your height and weight.
Bobby
Can this bat be used in cold weather? Adam
We do not recommend using any bat, including the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC), in any temperatures below 55 degrees. The fibers in a regulation baseball become more dense and harder, which can cause premature damage to the barrel of the bat.
Tessa L.

The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: (DXVDC) will incorporate X10 Alloy, which creates very thin walls and this will make this model a single wall bat because of its materials.

I would suggest the Voodoo if you are looking for more power and can handle the extra swing weight of an end loaded bat.
Kelby
What is the difference between the 2014 Demarini Voodoo and the 2013? big c

I used this bat as a -9 so I am kind of used to the feel. However, now I need a -3 BBCOR bat and was wondering if I should get this model? Or, if I should try out the Rawlings 5150 BBCOR, because it is more balanced. nickyflash
Due to the fact that you are already making a big change in the weight of your bat, I would probably suggest looking for a balanced model. I think having an evenly balanced weight distribution will make the transition a little bit easier on you. Therefore, the Rawlings 5150 Alloy BBCOR Baseball Bat: (BBCA2) would be an excellent option to take a closer look at. This model will be very balanced, and incorporates great technology to help increase swing speed, and creates a lightweight feel. In the end, it will ultimately come down to what you feel most comfortable swinging. However, my top recommendation due to the circumstances would be to stick to a balanced model.
Merritt
Do you have to break in the 2014 Voodoo Paradox BBCOR? aj
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) features an alloy barrel that does not require a break in process.
Patrick
What are the differences between this bat and the 2014 Voodoo Overlord? frank
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) and the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) differ in that the OVERLORD has the D-Fusion Handle Technology which helps extend the sweet spot and reduce sting and vibration better.
Patrick
How would this bat compare to the 2015 Easton S3Z? I am a contact hitter. Which bat would be better for me? john
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) and the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) are very different by design. The Voodoo is end-loaded and a hybrid design with a composite handle and alloy barrel. The S3Z is a single piece alloy design that is well balanced. If you are a contact hitter, the balanced swing weight of the S3Z would be more beneficial.
Patrick
My son is 13 years old. He is 5 foot 10 and weighs 134 pounds. He is a power hitter. Which bat would be better for him, the DeMarini Voodoo Overlord or DeMarini Voodoo with Paradox composite? bobby baseball
Both the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) and the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) are great options. The major difference is that the Overlord features the d-fusion handle that has better sting and vibration protection.
Patrick
I have the CF6 and I am more of a power hitter. I was wondering if this bat would be a better BBCOR bat than my BBCOR CF6, for someone like me who is 5'6" 150 lbs? My CF6 seems unresponsive, even on hits on the sweet spot. P.T.
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) has an end loaded swing weight and is typically a better option for a power hitter. The CF6 has a more balanced swing weight, and is typically a better bat for contact hitters. Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 32" model.
Jason

While both are great bats, the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) does not have the D-Fusion Handle Technology that the OVERLORD has. That helps eliminate vibration and extend the sweet spot.
Chinyere
Which bat has more pop: the Voodoo Overlord, or the Voodoo Paradox? Stefan
Both the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) and the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will perform similarly. The BBCOR standard limits the bat's performance or "pop." The major difference would be the D-fusion handle on the OVERLORD that provides better sting and vibration protection and regulation of the flex of the bat.
Patrick

The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) does not feature the D-Fusion Handle Technology that the OVERLORD features.

I have pretty good bat speed and I am looking to consistently drive the ball. Do you think this bat or the Vexxum NVS has the better pop? T
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) and the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVXC) are both excellent bats. They both feature a hybrid construction (composite handle and alloy barrel). When deciding between the two, you'll notice that there is a smaller barrel length on the Vexxum that gives it one of the lowest M.O.I.'s on the market. Low M.O.I. creates faster swing speeds. If you would like to get an even faster swing, the Vexxum may be the bat for you. However, the Voodoo will have a lengthier barrel which creates an increased sweet spot that a lot of hitters are looking for in their bats.
Ben
What is the balance point and MOI? Shaq Daddy
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) has a slightly end loaded swing weight so the weight of the bat will be concentrated at the end of the barrel. It will also feature a relatively low M.O.I.

The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will differ from the DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC)-(2012 model) in the type of composite material used to create the handle. The 2014 Voodoo will use paradox composite that creates a stiffer handle than offered in the 2012 Voodoo. Also, the alloy that has been used to create the 2014 model will be a little different from the 2012 model. Besides that, the bats will be very similar. Both bats will offer the hybrid construction and slightly end-loaded feel.

Is this bat good for power hitters? I have been using a Mako and can't hit the ball as far but I used a Voodoo in pratice and nearly hit the ball out. Nightfrost
The DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC would be a great bat for a power hitter. The end-loaded design is going to be preferred more by power hitters due to the mass concentration in the barrel. Basically, in an end-loaded bat you will have a smaller sweet spot but the mass will be more concentrated in this area. This will cause a greater pendulum effect (think whip) when the barrel head is going through the zone. When the ball is struck within this smaller/more concentrated sweet spot one will see a greater impact on distance balls travel. The reason why you are not experiencing this with the MAKO is due to the fact that the mass in the barrel is evenly distributed to give it the balanced feel. This will make the bat easier to swing but with less mass in the sweet spot you will not get the same effect as far as distance on batted balls and barrel whip.
Cameron
Is this bat good for power hitters? dan22
The DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is an end loaded bat and is great for power hitters!
Damon
Which bat is better between the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ and the DeMarini Voodoo? Cabriell
Both the DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC and the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16MKT are excellent, high-quality baseball bats. I wouldn't necessarily say that one is better than the other as that will be subjective depending upon who you ask. This Voodoo is a two-piece hybrid design that will feature an alloy barrel and a composite handle while the MAKO TORQ is a two-piece fully composite construction.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
