Description

Louisville Slugger continues to lead the industry with innovation and performance with their products. Louisville Slugger is building off the success of the Exogrid Technology and is introducing the H2 Hybrid Technology as its next step. The H2 Technology is a seamless 1 piece composite/alloy Hybrid design. The exclusive H2 design bonds the ST+20 barrel and the 3X Composite seamlessly, providing the outstanding performance of a 1 piece stiff handle design. The H2 design utilizes a full 3X Composite handle and transition area. The move to a full 100% graphite composite design in the transition allows for an ever stiffer handle than offered in the Exogrid. Graphite is lighter and stronger than aluminum, allowing for a stiffer handle. A stiff handle produces more barrel flex, resulting in maximum trampoline effect and, ultimately greater performance. The barrel section of the H2 Hybrid is constructed with the industry leading ST+20. Its outstanding strength and toughness provide the performance, feel and sound that top players demand. A lighter handle/transition means a longer barrel and sweet spot. The Louisville Slugger TPS H2 comes with a full twelve (12) month manufacturer's warranty. Pros: My 14U daughter loves this bat. Straight out of the wrapper the ball "poped" off the bat well. Well Balanced. Grip is good. Doubles and Triples are made easy with this bat. Great Price! Excellent Delivery time.

Pros: Power hitters bat. End weighted will drive the ball even with a miss swing. My daughter had the only homer of the JV season over 220ft fence. Best part was it was on a cold day about 50 degrees and rain usually when composites don't do well. Shock reduction is very good. Performance of the bat is very good.

Cons: 2 things, bat gripp loosend after about a month and finish scratches a little to easy. Performance is still very good.

Will this bat break easily? How can I prevent it from breaking? TheEllie-ster
This is actually a pretty decent bat for the price, and I would venture to say that it would not break easily. You can prevent it from breaking by doing the following: use only in games or team batting practice, don't hit yellow dimpled balls, don't let others use & above all treat it well. If all that fails this bat comes with a one year warranty. So you can send it back to the manufacturer if it breaks & they'll send you a new one.

is this bat composite ? Stc
This bat has an aluminum barrel, and a composite handle. It would technically be classified as an alloy bat.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
