Pros: This bat has the most pop of any bat I have used. It feels in between the s1 and the xl1.
Cons: My whole team wants to use it.
Easton MAKO Youth Baseball Bat: YB14MK
I bought this bat for my son for little league because his other bat lost its "pop"
can it get any better???
Pros: This bat has the most pop of any bat I have used. It feels in between the s1 and the xl1.
Cons: My whole team wants to use it.
Pros: The Mako feels more end loaded like the XL1. It virtually feels just like the XL1 but 1 ounce lighter. When my son hit both the Mako and XL1 on the sweet spot, the XL1 flew farther. My recommendation is that if you are strong enough to swing the XL1, get the XL1. If you need your bat a little lighter get the Mako or XL2 or XL3 to save some dough. If you need more swing speed, stick to the S Series.
Cons: None. Great bat for the person that can't quite swing the XL1 but the S series is too light for.
Pros: it has amazing pop and a huge sweetspot. its very lightweight and its the best bat of the year
Cons: everyone wants to use it and I lose to many baseballs
Pros: The whole bat. My son turned 11 this year. Was swinging a voodoo and generated the highest bat speed on his team. He also had the least hit balls in distance. He purchased this bat with his own money, and at the second practice, literally hit a whole bucket of balls to the fence with one going over for his first homerun. This bat is definitely worth the money spent.
Pros: The bat is very top heavy and has choke pop. The whole team wants to use it.Nice easton they got the best bat on the market hands down! The bat has nice color and a sick name to it.
Pros: What a great bat! This bat is not too light and not too heavy. Great bat for someone looking for both pop and bat speed
Cons: Absolutely Zero
Pros: Great feel when hitting. When you get jammed, the bat takes all of the sting out of the hands so all you feel is a solid hit.
Pros: I replaced a 31/20 Nike Aero (outlawed for Babe Ruth in 2014, sadly) with the 31/20 Mako for my 12 y/o son. I had seen others using the Mako but was not impressed with the pop or speed off of the bat. Probably a "break-in" issue, but maybe not the right player for this bat. That aside, I brought him to the cage tonight for some soft toss and was really impressed. The balance of the bat is excellent. Some have said end weighted but I feel it is balanced top to bottom. The sound at this juncture with some 80 swings is flat unless perfect contact is made. The pop is scary good on really good swings. The general feel is nice, balanced. Son said no vibration at this point. Obviously can't speak of durability yet. I would not recommend this bat to younger or starting players. There are plenty of bats out there for them. This is a bat for physically strong, seasoned players who can take advantage of what seems to be this years top offering from Easton. Enjoy the spring season.
Cons: None so far, looking forward to finding something, but I don't think I will :)
Pros: All good so far, only had for about 2 weeks. My son had been struggling lately and decided to surprise him with new bat and to no avail his 1st AB he laces a stand up double in right center field gap. The ball bounces off the bat.
Cons: none yet, oh yeah 1....every dang kid wants to use it.
Pros: POP! this bat has a ton of it, the power brigade series made a major improvement by adding this bat. it's the most diverse bat on the market and almost any player can swing this bat effectively.
Cons: like many power brigade bats, I found the mako didn't have very good feel off the barrel when you hit the ball really good, although this doesn't effect the performance at all.
Pros: great pop nice grip fast and easy to hit from
Pros: Tremendous pop!!! Have owned the 2012 Power Brigade & 2013 XL & CF5... Eastons BEST bat to date!!!!
Cons: A little top heavy...Not near as bad as Demarini though.
Pros: great pop just out of the wrapper my son uused in a tournament on the first pitch did a homer. second at bat a huge double. the best of two worlds the Mako
Pros: My son plays U11 travel baseball and has had a lot of success using the 2013 XL1 in both 30/20 and 31/21. He also used the 30/17 Easton S3. I was concerned that the Mako would not have the POP of the XL1's but I was pleasantly surprised. The length to weigh ratio is perfect for him giving him a nice balance of speed and power through the zone. He is ecstatic with this bat! Great job as usual Easton!
Cons: Everyone wants to use it!
Pros: This Mako has a super sweet spot that allows my son to make more consistent contact driving the ball into the outfield more often. The pop off this bat is superior to the XL or S series bats and there is no vibration.
Cons: None at this time and have not have not had enough time to determine durability.
Pros: I would suggest this to hitter who is a contact and power hitter. My son has hit alot of solid hits. When you swing it he says it feels better than the 2014 xl1. He is not a homerun hitter but more of a speed player. It has more pop than the cf6. I would certinaly recomend this bat if you have ben intrested
Cons: turns black when you hit the ball
Pros: Tons of pop after one week break in. Very balanced design. Played with the S1 and prefer the Mako.
Pros: This bat is the best bat for my son. We will buy three of the bats for the whole team to use, It is so good
Pros: Cool colors Good pop Large sweet spot
Pros: AMAZING! LIGHTER than the xl, more pop than any bat out there and has great balance. I highly recommend this bat for anyone .
Cons: I don't like having to tell my teammates "no" when they ask to use it.
Pros: Composite bat with the latest innovative materials. The bat is slightly end loaded. This product is fine/average at best and the kids for some reason like the bright colors.
Cons: This model needs to be more balanced. Youth players should focus using Easton's S1 or S2 products.
Pros: Great pop. Bat has good balance and feel with minimal vibration if the sweet spot is missed.
Cons: In my Little League team of 12 year olds we had six players with this bat. Within a three month time frame 5 have cracked. The warranty (1yr.is a joke) states Easton will only replace one bat within that year. Really poor quality when it will not stand up to regular season play. I had to give one star for durability for this rating to be submitted. Not deserved!
Pros: My son used this bat this weekend. It was on loan from another teams dad. My son 10 yr old hit a homerun dead center 235+ feet. Gonna get him one ASAP.
Cons: Lighter than what I would like...
Pros: I have been playing in the 11-13 league, and I am 11. I started off using the axe bat and had a batting average of 561. Its been a month I've had the mako and I have not gotten out yet!
Pros: got it for my son everybody loves it great pop!
Cons: to pricey
Pros: Nuf said
Pros: My son plays 11u Majors USSSA. He swings the XL1 29/19 and a S1 big barrel with a great deal of power and speed. Today at practice he asked to use one of the other players 29/18 Mako.....through 4 rounds of BP he hit 27 out on a 225 field. The balls he hit out didnt just barley clear the fence they were bombs. Needless to say we just ordered the 2014 30/19 Mako (went up in size from the one he swung at practice so he can maybe get a extra year out of it)
Pros: this bat is incredibly light with a huge sweat spot. It feels good wherever you hit the ball with it. Ball toys of. The bat. In my opinion the Mako is better than xl1.
Cons: Pricey. Takes a while to break in.
Pros: Nothing beats this beast. I don't know how Easton managed to make a bat with soooo much pop. I used to have an XL1 from 2013. The Mako may be lighter but the distance is 5x greater. I recommend this bat to kids where the S1 is a bit light for them, but where the XL1 is a bit heavy for them.
Cons: First 50 hits aren't very productive, but I HIGHLY recommend this bat to everyone
Pros: Excellent right out of the gate. After we struggled last year with the S1or the XL as my son is on small side but hits with good pop and average. We settled on S1 and went for bat speed. Great bat but this Mako is the best of both worlds. In 1st tourney he bats 1.000 and is popping them off the fence as a small fella. Great job by Easton to make the best of two great bats in to one.
Cons: Little pricy but made my son save for half. REALLY worth it to him now.
Pros: Good weight distribution. Large sweet spot provides very good pop. First ball hit by my 12 yr. old son (5'2" 85lbs.) was out of the park. He has maintained a 600+ BA through 11 games in this LL season. I would say it is broken in.
Cons: Too expensive for a youth bat!
Pros: Good feel.
Cons: Not a good one for a power hitter.
Pros: Best pop on the market
Cons: Easton bats fall apart. Every kid on my travel team who has purchased either the XL-1 or the Mako has had to have it replaced. My son has gone through 4 Eastons this year alone. We don't use rubber balls in machines either. They design these bats to be on the edge so the pop is great, but they just aren't durable. If you buy one, you might as well buy two because you will need a bat for when the first one breaks and you have to send it back.
Pros: Great bat came in warm lots of pop
Cons: Nothing at all
Pros: My first game with it stand up triple theres no brake in time and it has loads of pop
Cons: a little top heavy
Pros: This bat is awesome! I'm a 12 year old in my last year of little league (im one of the better players in my league) and my second at bat with this I hit one off the very top of the fence! I've already hit two bombs in practice with it too, and I could never hit for power before this.
Cons: nothing buy the bat!
Pros: This bat seems to have no obvious flaws. Bought it for my 9 yr old, 4'8" 65lbs. who plays travel ball. He had been using the Easton S1 28-16 and moved to the 28-17 Mako. The ball absolutely flies off this bat. It's not even broken in yet. The confidence boost alone was worth the extra $$$. Easton makes THE best quality bat available.
Cons: A little harder to get the barrel out front than the S1 because of the extra ounce and the way it is balanced compared to the S1 so he uses the S1 against faster pitchers but other than that this bat ROCKS!
Pros: this bat has lots of pop i don't have one but my friend does and i used it in bp and i hit 10-10 and 5 over the fence
Cons: none gerat bat
Pros: great pop
Cons: vibration when you hit it off the handle and end of this bat
Pros: This bat has a good deal of pop. The sting is reduced due to the CXN piece in the middle. I've hit 6 home runs on the season so far and this season was the first season that I've ever hit one over the fence.
Cons: Everyone keeps handling my bat, people keep wanting to use it, people are obsessed with my bat rather than theirs, and they won't keep their hands off my bat. Other than that, the bat is great.
Pros: Great pop
Cons: durability have witnessed 5 or 6 of them crack
Pros: Great POP off the bat. Bought his bat for my son for all-stars as a reward for his hard work this season. He is a good contact hitter and batted nearly .600 for the season, but hits single and doubles only. During BP with his team he nearly took the head off our 3rd baseman 3-4 times with frozen ropes. He hasn't completely broken it in yet, but in an all-star jamboree this weekend, he hit by far his longest line-drives of the year (and he didn't hit them completely flush). A stand-up double and a long single that was cutoff by the center fielder. Led team with RBIs batting in the 7-hole on a 12 man roster. After those two hard line-drives, when he came up the next time, you could see the opposing coach moving his defense back a few steps and I heard him say, "Big hitter, remember he hit a double last time up." He was a good hitter already and now this bat has boosted his confidence that not only can he play well at the all-star level, but can be a team leader!
Cons: Non-yet. Haven't had the bat a week yet, so can't speak to its durability. However, I have never had any problems with Easton bats in the past.
Pros: It has a TON of pop if you hit in straight on the sweet spot.... but it loses that in a month or two...... also great feel and minimal vibration
Cons: if you don't make amazing contact 80% of the time you're gonna get out
Pros: This is my son's second season of summer coach pitch. Last year I bought him a $60 Easton Reflex Bat which I thought was expensive. At his first practice this season using his Reflex Bat he made perfect contact and the ball flew over the infield and dropped in front of the left out fielder. It was his greatest hit, but it occurred to me that his bat must have a tiny sweet spot, because that was a nice swing and perfect hit and the ball barely made it over the infield. I decided to buy him a better bat, but my only reservation was price. I thought the Mako was a whole lot of money for a bat. But I trusted the reviews and made the commitment. Last night, my son hit an inside the park home run. It wasn't his best swing but it was good contact and that ball flew over the the left out fielder. It was a great experience and I will never forget the smile on his face when he scored. It was awesome and I know the Mako made this happen. The smile on my son's face was well worth the price
Cons: Bat seems a little heavy, but with more use, I'm sure he'll grow into it.
Pros: So far my son loves the bat and so does team mates. Bat really isnt broken in yet so can't really be 100% sold on it as its only been 2 weeks.
Cons: None so far
Pros: Great bat, kids love it, nothing bad to say about it yet.
Cons: None as of yet
Pros: We had a tournament this past weekend at cal ripken 10 u. My son shared his bat with the team.we had more home runs that weekend than we did all year. All the kids will be asking for it for christmas
Pros: Not as endloaded as my current demarini vexxum, great pop, fast bat speed
Cons: I borrowed my friends and i dont have my own mako
Pros: Bat has a lot of pop,the bat is lightweight, its very balanced, the best part IT'S HOT RIGHT OUT OF THE WRAPPER
Cons: None yet......can't determine durability yet it's been only 2 days and I have only hit about 75 balls with it,so far it's holding up well.
Pros: the best bat in the world great pop
Pros: Great feel, good pop, great look.
Cons: Took a long time to break in, almost sent it back then my son start hitting shots. Good pop but my sons training partner got a cf6 the same day and we had both boys use both bats for almost a month and the cf6 performed much better. With all that said it's still far better than anything else so my money wasn't wasted but I wish I had an xl1 or cf6.
Pros: the ball just goes of the bat and the bat speed is AWESOME
Cons: i hope my team wants to use this bat
Pros: It has so much pop I play for a travel team in Ohio and we won our division because of this bat. We had 3 homeruns in 2 games with this bat
Cons: paint chips a little bit in the first 2 weeks
Pros: This bat has pop right out of the wrapper. My son is 10 year of age 4'8 80 lbs and he swings the 30 in 19 oz bat. Hitting easy over 200 ft and this bat is not even broke in yet. All we swing is Easton and they out done them self again. All the kids on his team want this bat and want to swing it at the plate every time.
Cons: Don't know how long it will last. Price is high but you pay for what you get. Nothing at this moment. Keeping it out of the hands of other lol.. to high to let anyone else swing it.
Pros: great bat
Pros: I bought this bat for my son for little league because his other bat lost its "pop". He used it for the first time in a scrimmage game, how about on his first swing with the bat he hit a home run.
Cons: No issues with us, but the rest of the team wishes it wasn't so heavy so they can use it lol.
Pros: It has great pop and the general feel is very comfortable
Cons: If you hit a fast pitch ball out of the sweat spot it sting just a little
Pros: AMAZING BAT! Has great pop and would recommend it for all all players.
Cons: just a little peice chiped off into the bat but did not affect it at all!
Pros: nice bat but stings sometimes but otherwise its all worth it
Cons: got nothing
Pros: this bat has great pop! Got it 3 days ago and hit with it today, it was amazing! Any type of hitter would love this bat, but if you are a power hitter you would love this bat even more. It has a great feel and makes you feel more powerful. Get this bat!!!
Pros: this bad is amazing! my boys have had other high end bats in the past, but this is the best so far. i would recommend to all
Cons: Price was more than what i wanted to spend, but worth every penny!
Pros: this bat is good for players who are contact and power hitters. it has a ton of pop and great grip and a monster barrel.i already got a home run with it... BUY IT!
Pros: It's has good pop
Cons: Broke first time I used it in a game It feels like it bends every time u hit the ball
Pros: Great pop Great balance Length to weight ratio is excellent
Cons: None to date
Pros: has a large sweet spot smaller than the xl1 but swings faster so you can get alot of power off of it. this bat is great for any contact hitter amd maybe a power hitter if he wants a lighter bat
Cons: nothing go get it now
Pros: Feels lighter than -11, more like -12 or -13. Big sweet spot, more like a sweet zone. Good pop, just doesn't sound like a "pop" of an aluminum bat. Ball moves off the bat deceivingly fast.
Cons: Expensive and everyone wants to use it. Except for the CF6 user on the team that can swing an end loaded monster.
Pros: Great hits off the big sweet spot. Most of the team is now using it (size 28, the bigger kids would like a 30). My son really likes it and thought the XL1 swung too heavy. He loves this bat. The ball really jumps off the sweet spot. Their eyes really light up on sweet spot hits. You can tell it feels good, and you can see the results. You won't be disappointed.
Cons: Vibration is an issue as it is on all -11 or greater bats when the ball hits the end or near the handle. Could be the -10 XL1 is better in this regard.
Pros: I call this bat the TRUTH ! my 8 year kid hit a fly ball to deep center first at bat for a triple. 2nd at bat a shot down the 3rd base line for a double which drove in two runs. 3rd at bat a shot over the shortstops head for a single drove in another run. 4th at bat fly ball to left field for a out. He's spraying the ball all over the yard while some parents are in awe. LOL!
Cons: THE COST $$$$$$
Pros: I have been using this bat and I hit some Bp. I hit at least 20 over 200 ft in 40 pitches and went 35-40!
Cons: None! The bats excellent
Pros: Great Pop
Cons: If used too much the top comes off of the barrel
Pros: Has amazing pop with great weight
Cons: Popular bat. Too easy to come by
Pros: good bat
Cons: If you do not hit on sweet spot stings
Pros: big sweet spot extended barrel cxn technology and performance grip hits great out of the box fence hits great bat I recommend to power hitters that cant quite get around with the xl1
Pros: It has nice pop and has no vibration. i would name it all but that would take too long! Its just a amazing bat overall
Cons: nothing wrong with it
Pros: The mako has an incredible amount of pop. There is no vibration when you hit it. It is a great overall bat.
Cons: My team wants to use it. It costs a lot.
Pros: best bat since the omen
Pros: My 12 year old has been hitting further then he ever has with this bat. He absolutely loves it. It's definitely the hot bat this season. I see at least 3 on every team in little league majors. He also has the big barrel for travel ball and it's even better. I have not heard a bad thing except...
Cons: On my sons bat the orange paint started to shatter in the sweet spot and now there's a large crack in the paint. The bat still works fine but the umps won't let him use it. Looks like Easton will replace it but for the price paid, this shouldn't happen.
Pros: lot of pop. no vibration. very durable.
Cons: everybody wants it
Pros: Very Good bat but just make sure you break it in very good with at least 300 hard hit baseballs, preferably by an adult. My son(9yrs 9 months) hit his first practice HR estimated 210ft and then a week later whacked his first in a game(what a feeling!!). Also if your hitter hits hard I recommend getting at least 5ft behind the Little League mound for the pitchers safety.
Cons: really the only one I can think of is the -11 opposed to the -12
Pros: it flies off the bat and it is light but has an enormous sweetstop
Cons: it already has paint chips
Pros: The bat feels great and it has tons of pop and the grip is awesome I recommend getting this bat as soon as possible!
Cons: every one wants to use it don't they
Pros: This bat has more pop the any of the S series or the easton xl2 and xl3 but the xl1 has more but it is heavier so I recommend this bat but if you are a beginner I suggest the s series.
Cons: None it's a great bat
Pros: the ball went flying off the bat right out of the wrapper hits very hard
Pros: this is a good bat, but a broke in s1 compared to this is amazing. it has good pop, but it's too end loaded for most kids. the bbcor version of this bat is amazing but this is just alright
Cons: Handle grip falls off endloaded less pop then an old stealth or an s1, xl1, or s2
Pros: can it get any better???!!!!??it's the BEST
Cons: nothing at all
Pros: It has a lot of pop and is light weight. Overall it is great
Cons: Everyone wants to use it on my team
Pros: The Easton Mako is the best bat i have ever come across. It is for some one who can't swing the xl1 to well. In my opinion, the Mako has the same amount of power as the xl1 and is one ounce lighter. My all-star team has 10 makos and nobody gets tired of them. Best bat ever
Cons: it takes a little bit of time to break it in but other than that, no cons.
Pros: Great bat and good pop. Hit many over the fence in practice.
Cons: Thinking about XL1.
Pros: I am a 13u player and we have 290+ fences in our fields my first 2 at bats I struck out but then I started to get contact and holy moly did it go far! This bat is amazing it has great pop very lightweight so you can swing it very fast. I would recommend this bat to anyone looking for a new one ar just a bat
Cons: My holy team wants to use it!
Pros: This bat has a large sweet spot and great pop. The balanced feel is perfect for smaller players.
Cons: Stings a little if you get jammed or hits the nob, and the ball goes nowhere
Pros: "IT IS WELL BALANCED AND LOTS OF POP IT HAS NO VIBRATION AND GREAT DURABILITY"
Cons: THE PAINT CHIPS AND THE GRIP IS BAD I RECOMMEND A LIZARD SKIN GRIP
Pros: this bat has a lot of pop and has very little break in time. the ball jumps off the bat like its coming out of a cannon. the bat is a very balanced bat but still hits like a xl1.
Cons: price and everyone wants to use it but otherwise nothing
Pros: This bat has great pop. Needs about 150-200 swings to start really going. I own a 31/20 mako. I am 12 years old and 95 pounds. This bat is great at first but after about 700 swings its not that great.
Cons: My mako started getting dead after 500-700 swings. We have 3 makos on our team. All 3 of them have cracked/end cap fly off. We have had 1 end cap fly off. 3 cracked ones. And 1 dead one. We have got them all replaced thanks to Easton. But these shouldn't break every 4 weeks. Not Durable. Would recommend CF6. We have one that already has 1200+ swings and I can still hit it out with it. And it shows no sign of cracked, end cap flying off, or denting.
Pros: great out of wrapper
Cons: every time i use it it gets worse i would definantly recomend the easton xl1
Pros: This is flat-out an amazing bat I play 9-11 I'm only 9 but I have had 4 homers over the 225 fence in 4 games with this bat. Last with the Easton omen and it was 10 times worse than this one.
Cons: I make pitchers cry when I hit a homerun with this bat!
Pros: Tons of pop , I would compare it to the old CF4.
Cons: I seen a ton of these bats have the end cap come flying out after a hit leaving the bat worthless.
Pros: I am 12 and my team got a mako for the state tournament the first practice i hit 4 out then the next practice i hit 1 i haven't used it in a game yet but the bat has great pop
Cons: the grip and the price
Pros: It feel's good in your hands... nothing else!
Cons: mine broke right down at the handle after 5 months of heavy use..... it's 300$ it shouldn't break forever! and the pop wasn't special either, 2012 CF5 is much better than this.
Pros: It has the hype and kids feel more confident with it.
Cons: Does not have the pop or ping that I would have expected. Son used it for a month and went back to his old bat. It's not for everyone.
Pros: Tons of pop easy to grip
Cons: I am on an allstar team and we started our season with 5 makos and we have one left all the caps came of of the bats and they all cracked. I can not swing the mako because it is to heavy for me so I went to the s2 and have been getting on base a lot it's not a power hitter bat but I am a contact hitter so it works great for me.
Pros: Has amazing pop and is perfect for someone who can't get around on the xl1.
Cons: Cracks to easy. I hit two home runs in one game when I got my second mako and it crack then!!
Pros: My son loves this bat. He is a 9U player and has really upped his game since getting this bat. Very quick bat.
Cons: None to speak of.
Pros: Has Decent Pop Good Grip And Easy To Swing
Cons: ONE KID WANTS TO USE AND WONT STOP ASKING!!!!
Pros: I haven't even broken in my mako yet but the pop is unbelievable I am singles doubles hitter so I got this bat and it is perfect for my type of hitter when I took it out to my local field, where I can sometimes hit about 1-3 homers, I hit ten in one round! including a shot that almost cleared the big wall behind the fence if you want to be on top of your game there is no other way than mako
Cons: $$$ but in the end totally worth it!
Pros: I play on a 10u team and the mako has so much pop it's the best bat I have ever used if you hit it on the handle it still will go far and it doesn't even sting it has a huge sweet spot and the mako is like a trampoline the ball flies off the bat and goes far the grip feels so good and win you hit it it doesn't feel like you hit it the one that I use is composite I just listen for the pop it sounds like a wooden bat and it is really light and all the weight is in the barrel I would recommend it to anyone worth the price BEST BAT EVER!!!!!!!YOU ROCK EASTON!!!!! (:
Cons: None Great Bat!! (:
Pros: This bat has a lot of pop
Cons: None great bat
Pros: The price at Just Bats was great.
Cons: My son is a solid hitter, can usually hit home runs in practice all day long. He's 5'5 120 pounds. He had a great Easten Red Omen that finally broke in a game. We researched a replacement bat , considered the Mako , but reviews all highly recommended the XL1. So I bought the XL1 and as soon as it arrived we dashed off to the LL Major League field. I pitched at least fifty balls to him, and no matter how hard he hit the balls, they all feel far short of his usual range. He hit only one home run, and evetrything else was mediocre . I was shocked, because I really thought this bat was going to be a step up from the Omen. The sound is not solid either, in fact it sounds cheap. I am absolutely not impressed with the POP in this bat. It seems FLAT .
Pros: My son is 5'3, 135lbs. He played in 10u league and was a monster with that Mako beast. He hit several HR's, 4 over 235 ft fence. My son loves this bat and we are considering getting the big barrel Mako bat.
Cons: Price, but i guess u get for what you pay for.
Pros: Amazing pop! Very well balanced bat.
Pros: Very well made bat ! The feel of the bat just is amazing . I didn't own the bat but my friend on my team did .
Cons: During the middle of All-Star practice the cap popped off . But other from that the bat is great !
Pros: A very long barrel. Seems to have a balance feel to it.
Cons: The weight is not what is advertised. Much to my surprise when I weighed the bat The 28/17 is 19.5 ounces. Now certainly, the nice diamond grip is not 2.5 ounces. There is no way that you can have an -11 drop with that massive barrel length. So if you are concerned with your child's bat speed and think he needs a lighter bat this may not be the bat you want.
Pros: This bat is amazing i love it. best bat out there for sure
Cons: none. except that my friends used it in the batting caged and he hit a line drive at the machine and broke it :)
Pros: great feel, great pop, my son realy loves this bat
Cons: durability. used it for about 2 months (always real baseball, kept inside at good temperature, never abused) and it is now cracked in two locations. Easton doesn't have the bat for repalcement, so wanted to go to a cheeper bat. in the middle of middle school baseball and want ot wait 4 months (December) to get new bat. will not replace it with the enxt model year bat.
Pros: its really nice bat its the best of both worlds but a little more money but still a great bat
Cons: and not anything i noticed.
Pros: big sweet spot
Cons: hard to break in not a very recomend the easton xl1
Pros: it has great pop my average went way up since I got the mako first at bat I was only a few inches away from a homerun. I love the mako
Pros: Best bat ever. I just got it and i am CRUSHING the ball. It has great pop out of the wrapper.
Cons: Barrel is shorter than the XL1.
Pros: amazing bat, hit 10 homeruns with it this year in LL on 225+ fences, and they werent just pop ups over, they were bombs off the bat. great pop, perfect for a contact and power hitter, good bat speed and perfect weight. definitely would reccomend this bat. also its really end loaded
Cons: too pricey, broke mid-season not good for durability, takes a while to break it in, hit my last homerun on the LL field 2 weeks after i got it, about 15 games and lots of bp, shouldnt have to break it in
Pros: when you hit the ball on the sweet spot it is great but that does not always happen get at least 500 swings in to break it in!!!!
Cons: way way better of with easton 2014 or 2013 xl1 then mako!!!!!
Pros: After the break in period these bats are very hot, so hot that our travel team has put down the big barrels and started using the small barrel Makos. Some surface crack lines have appeared on the bat after a year of use but the bat is performing better than ever. My 11 year old weighs about 80 lbs. and is hitting the ball 230 ft. with this bat.
Pros: all i can do with it is hit
Cons: honestly, nothing
Pros: Great bat used it in little league world series thought it was a beast
Pros: Great combination of the XL and Speed series. Ball jumps off the bat. Can't wait till we get it fully broke in.
Cons: None at this time
Pros: i have only used it in one tournament and i really loved it I got sad though because it was my teammates and he had to not let anyone use it because his dad didn't want it to break otherwise i have nothing bad to say! GREAT BAT I LOVE IT!
Cons: everyone wanted to use it but otherwise nothing
Pros: I like the feeling the best but
Cons: I used this bat in marrysville the pitcher pitched it inside and the bat shatterd I got this bat for about $300 dollars for no reason
Pros: I got this bat for Christmas, and so far it feels great. It's very light, I can swing it hard and level, it hits the ball hard and far, and it has an incredibly comfortable grip. I love it.
Cons: I really don't think there are any or many cons to it besides pricing unless this is the original Easton sale price.
Pros: the MAKO will allow you to hit any pitch at any speed, a perfect bat.
Cons: there are no cons
Pros: awesome bat
Pros: I do very well in the cage with this bat. Very nice feel off the sweet spot.
Cons: I have been slumping since buying it. Idk why but the bat is helping!
Pros: My son was really struggling with hitting and on top of that he needed a new "heavier" bat. So my son shows me the "justbats.com" page on the 2014 Easton MAKO. Of course being a parent I just looked at the price. My jaw dropped at the price but of course I gave in and bought him this bat. My son ate and slept with this bat just waiting impatiently to use it. Knowing that he will be swinging the "cream of the crop" in bats his confidence was through the roof. Well needless to say his hitting also went through the roof. Doubles. triples, etc..etc. Was it the bat? I'm going to have to say "technically" No. So... Was spending almost $300 on a bat worth it? His new confidence at the plate and eagerness to get an at bat says it was. I'm content with that. As a parent seeing my son excel it's worth every penny!!!
Cons: Everyone on the team wants to use this bat. lol
Pros: I got this bat looking for the s500c but I could not find one so I got the mako. I hit the ball over the fence 21 times in me last 11 games.
Cons: Sometimes vibrates some times
Pros: My son got the 32/21 mako and he is very happy with it. His first at bat he roped a double in the gap. In his second at bat he hit a triple down the first base line, and he hit a 2 run homer over the center field fence. I would really recommend this bat because the xl1 is a little to heavy for me and the s1 is way to light??
Cons: $$$ And His whole team Wants to use it.
Pros: easy to hit with , good pop, nice feel etc
Cons: the coach says it is too heavy by several ounces and my son who is 11 years old July1, 5 feet tall and weighs. 110 needs a bat like his sons that weighs several ounces less. I disagree and have seem a huge batting improvement.
Pros: it has a huge sweet spot and amazing pop. it is the best bat that I have ever bought. This bat is great.
Cons: everybody want it and wants to use it and I hit to many homers. btw I am 4'2" and I hit them over a 300 foot fence :)
Pros: got this bat in Fall ball last October. unreal distance on a cheap hit. I havent touched my XL-1 this year. home run heaven!!
Cons: took a bit to break in.
Pros: best bat ever
Pros: great pop. 3 hits crushed in the outfield
Cons: its a little difficult going from a 17 oz to 20 oz
Pros: in my all star game I went 3 for 3 with a homerun my first time using it and it handles vibrations well.
Pros: Great feel nice pop and feels great when you hit it
Cons: Like everyone else is saying everybody wants to use it
Pros: Awesome bat. Took it to the ball fields to break it in for my 7 year old and all I can say is wow, I was using a tea at the fence and then decided to hit the towards the just to see what it would possible do for a kid so I put my elbows in my ribs and just swung with my hips, boom over the 170 foot fence, twisted a little slower the next hit and grounded one in the dirt, once again to the fence, slowed down a little more on the third and once again, to the fence, got out the bat he is using now (XL3 28/17) and swung it about the same speed, middle of the outfield was as far as I could hit swing with just my hips. Now right now he is just a touch small to swing it with a lot of speed, there is a woosh sound but not a big one when he swings it, but I did get him a size bigger (29/18) I was look into the fall or even next season, but I wanted him swing it and getting strong so he can hit bombs with it when he is ready.
Cons: none, I don't know how anything can get better, I wish I could give it 6 stars.
Pros: I hit two homeruns with the bat.it has great pop.and a light swing weight
Pros: the best
Cons: great bat
Pros: I never hit a homerun before but my first swing with a mako was a 250 feet bomb.
Pros: thius bat has huge pop i bought it at the beggining of the year and it can still hit hte ball out of the park i am 12 and playing on 250 fences and have already hit 8 out
Cons: everone wants to use it and it hurts if you hit it off the end of the bat
Pros: Tons of pop. In the two months I've had it I've hit 12bombs
Cons: bad paint job. lots of people want to use it
Pros: it is the best bat ever
Pros: Got for my 10 year old. He need to go up in size we went up to the 31/20 from a 29/17. Pretty big jump but he plays year round and didn't see much of a change in his bat speed. I believe this is the best bat on the market. Right out the box he hit it better than he has ever hit. Kid plays year round and has a great swing but something about the pop off this bat almost makes it unfair... Great Bat!!!!!
Cons: none I've seen
Pros: This bat has taken our sons confidence to different level. It has Amazing pop right out of the package. He has hit over 30 homeruns during practice in 3 months... He Loves this bat!
Pros: I got this bat for Christmas it is awesome I only hit it off the tee
Cons: nothing yet
Pros: Purchased 2 of these this year. One for my 9 year old, one for my 11 year old. My 11 year old can't get much pop out of it. He hits way better with his old XL1. My younger son seems to hit well with his Mako. I'm hoping they are just slow to break in. Maybe it will improve. Right now it just seems ok. Good balance and good grip...no vibration.
Cons: Medium pop, seems like it should have more.
Pros: I been using my 30" XL1 all summer. Got my 31" Mako two weeks ago. Really nice bat, I'm just not used of it yet. I think my XL1 drops a better bomb but time will tell. Nice bat speed, nice grip. I love my Mako.
Cons: None yet. Real eye catcher!!!
Pros: Best bat ever. I hit with this bat much better than with my CF5!
Pros: It's light weight, the color is amazing, and it's really easy to hit a homer.
Pros: I personally think that the bat holds up well. When I swing the bat I feel confident in hitting the ball. I think the bat is great overall.
Cons: The grip could be better.
Pros: Has a lot of pop
Cons: Cracked with my first 2 games
Pros: There is none.
Cons: There is to many to count. No pop, and goes no where. Too expensive, Don't get this bat!
Pros: The 2014 Easton MAKO feels and looks good.
Cons: My son and his teammates play U9 travel ball and they just are not getting much Pop off this bat? It fairly frustrating, I am tempted to have my son go back to his 2012 Easton Reflex bat.
Cons: takes a while to get broken in
Pros: little pop
Cons: cap is very loose and the paint chipped on my first couple swings with it
Pros: the best bat ever i hit 1000 home runs in a day with it
Cons: so coool
Cons: takps a while to get it brokpn in
Pros: Osom bat!
Pros: Good feel, like the swing. Waiting for it to break-in to really see the bat work. Just got the bat, but hope the bat lasts like other Easton bats.
Cons: Having to wait for the bat to break-in. $$$$ Hope it is worth the price.
Pros: it had no sting
Cons: pop is terrible i corked it and it only hit 230
Pros: Nice bat
Cons: Bat does not meet my leagues regulations because the barrel is made up of composite material.
