Pros: Not really any pros, besides it being the same bad i've used in the past 3 to 4 years, still a great design, always preferred.

Cons: Obviously, since it is the new BBCOR certified, when the ball leaves the bat it sounds like a golf ball. but i still get the same distance i've gotten with my other vexxum. i am a freshman doing the smart thing and getting used to the new certification now and not waiting till next year to be surprised. But i would much rather use wood over this.

Pros: Very balanced,my son says it swings like his drop 5. Good pop for a BBCOR. Definately not as HOT as the BESR bats, but as a Coach I welcome these changes. I prefer hard line drives in the gaps, to homeruns anyday.

Cons: None.....Another excellent bat from DeMarini.

Pros: Internet purchase ran smoothly and the bat looked great. Adjusted very quickly to the increase in weight and was hitting well. Has great balance and comfortable grip. Looks and feels great. I've already hit my first 2 run homer of the season. Demarini makes winners. I was extremely fortunate to have gotten such a great deal on the price of the bat too.

Cons: The paint on the barrel is just a bit weak. It immediately chipped off right after just one hitting session of BP. Needs a tougher coating to reduce the chance of getting scraped or chipped during a game. This problem can get the bat disqualified at certain tournaments. Otherwise, this bat is a winner. The same is true with the CF5 and Voodoo.

Pros: Quick delivery. Nice balance. Son is getting used to the BBCOR standard. Same length but 5 oz heavier. My son chipped in birthday money for it. Doesn't hit like the 32" 24 oz. aluminum, but that's the new standard. He likes the feel of it. A little too soon to evaluate. Been too cool at games to show it at its best.

Cons: The bat is kind of high maintenance, I mean, it needs break in, and you can't use a batting cage. We don't have 100 balls and a batting assistant to break it in like the video shows. If it doesn't perform at its best at 70 degrees, I wouldn't get a composite if you live in Canada or Alaska.

Pros: Excellent bat for anyone who doesn't have to worry about getting it around fast enough. I've had it for about a month now and it has served me well as my batting average is well above .500. I recommend it for anyone who has the strength to swing it well.

Cons: Only minor and not mattering problem is that a bat weight is kind of awkward on the barrel but that isn't a problem, I recommend buying a bat sleeve instead.

Coach B

Pros: Bat had nice pop till it failed and cracked after 1 week of use

Cons: Worst warranty system I ever dealt with.Bat cracked after just a week of use and developed terrible rattle. Sent it back to company and it cost me 23 dollars to ship. It took over 3 weeks for them to send me back the same bat and all they did was fix rattle not crack. Talked to 3 different individuals at Demarini sent pics and I got same answer as before. If you want to ship it back to us again on your dime you can there is nothing else we can do but repair it if we can. I will never buy another bat from them, they don't honor their warranty they gave me no proof they ever tested the crackin the bat and they said it was only cosmetic. I can clearly see it is cracked and the ball comes of the bat dead. I will definately buy a differnt name brand in future.

Moving up. Todd parent

Pros: My son is smaller in size at 5'2'' and 100 pounds. We stayed with a lighter bat too long moving to a drop 5 for 2 months and then to the drop 3 for High School. This bat was balanced enough for him to do well with. The pop on this bat was very good and excellent for the price! This bat has had great durability because we have had it for 10 months and used it in hot and cold weather. There are no cracks, chips or scratches. It only has marks where the ball has hit the bat. My son is using it again this year and has great confidence it will continue perform well for him. For me, 2 years for a bat with great pop is a great value. I highly recommend this bat!

Cons: Because my son is smaller, the bottom of the handle is a little big for the size of his hands. He says its not that big of a deal.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the DeMarini Vexxum BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVNC White? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Will it be legal in 2012? TAG
The BBCOR standard is already fully implemented within collegiate play for the 2011 season. This standard will be upheld nationally for high school play beginning with the 2012 season. BBCOR bats are legal for 2011/2012 and will be required in 2012.
Jeff
Is this demarini vexxum bat legal for high school? Ryan
Yes. This bat is BBCOR certified and it is legal for high school play this year, next year and beyond.
Jeff
Voodoo or vexxum? Dr j
The Vexxum is a two piece bat that uses C6 carbon fiber in the handle and SC4 alloy in the barrel. This bat comes with a 12 month warranty and is legal for play this year and following years.
Mark
Is there any safety issues from ASA 98 speed to NSA 120 speed in adult slow pitch regarding a safety issue? RON
Actually, NSA bats are required to meet the BPF 1.20 rating. The actual speed (mph) is a 100 mph rating, not 120 mph. The same bats that are used in NSA are used in USSSA and many other leagues. The past several years, I've seen close calls for the player at the pitcher's postion in both ASA leagues and USSSA and NSA leagues. There have always been safety concerns for the pitcher in slow pitch softball no matter what league or regulations you're playing under. We always have an experienced softball player pitch for us.
TJ
Is there any bat regulations that could become active that would prohibit this bat from being legal in high school play? Gooey
No, all the current regulations are in place and shouldn't change anytime soon. BBCOR should be around for a while and this bat will be legal for the foreseeable future.
Brett
How does this vexxum compare to the new updated vexxum? Differences? 808BaseballPlayer
The 2012 vexxum is just the newer version of last years bbcor model. There isn't a lot of difference.
Mark
My son is either going to play juniors or pony. Is this bat going to be legal for that level of play? He's 13. If its BBCOR legal in 2011 is it BBCOR legal in 2012? will
For Juniors, the bat doesn't have to be BBCOR certified unless it has a composite barrel. Pony League doesn't have those restrictions. If you choose to use the BBCOR bat it will be certified for 2011 and 2012 play.
Kara
would this bat be good for my 12 year old son playing on a travel baseball team #10 aces
This is a BBCOR bat which will be a -3 Adult bat. If you're looking for a good BBCOR bat this bat has good pop and will be very durable. This bat should last him many seasons. Double check with the league to see if you need to use a BBCOR bat, if not I suggest looking at some -5 bats.
KG

The DeMarini Vexxum BBCOR: DXVNC White Adult will be slightly different than the 2012 DeMarini Vexxum BBCOR: DXVNC Adult bat. The 2012 will use DeMarini's technology, called Taper Ring. The swing weight on this model will be even more balanced than the previous year.

Is this bat stamped 1.15 BPF? J

Frank
Does this bat have a sleeve on it? Rick Kroeger
The DeMarini Vexxum BBCOR: DXVNC does not come with a batting sleeve.
Tyler

My son is 13 years old. He is 5'6" and weighs 115 lbs. I just purchased a 2011 Vexxum, 32/29, and got a great deal on the bat. It's new in wrapper, but I am questioning the drop 3? Slim
A drop 3 BBCOR bat is required for all players in high school. The DeMarini Vexxum BBCOR (DXVNC) White Adult meets all the requirements to be legal for high school play, but a BBCOR bat is not always required for players below high school. Determining the weight on a bat is determined by league requirements and personal preference. Based on his height and weight, we recommend he use a 30" bat.
Jason

We suggest that he use a 32" in whichever bat he chooses either a senior league or Adult.

Which bat has a lighter swing weight the 2012 Demarini Vexxum or the 2013 Demarini Vexxum? Elkslayer
The 2012 and 2013 DeMarini Vexxum BBCOR models (DXVNC) will both have the same swing weight with a slightly end loaded feel. The 2014 Vexxum (DXVXC) is more balanced.
Patrick

We would suggest that you use a 33" bat in the DeMarini Vexxum BBCOR (DXVNC) White Adult at your size.
Aaron
Which bat has the lightest swing out of all the DeMarini Vexxum models? MLBeast
The new 2014 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR (DXVNC) will provide a lighter swing weight and lower MOI than any other version of the Vexxum. This DeMarini Vexxum BBCOR (DXVNC) White Adult bat will still offer a pretty balanced swing weight, but the NVS is the best option for that criteria.
Mac
I am 6'3" and 230 lbs. What bat would you recommend? Chris
The DeMarini Vexxum BBCOR: (DXVNC) would actually be a great option to take a look at. The two-piece hybrid design will provide some good pop, and flex as well. The long barrel technology will also help increase the size of the sweet spot. The DeMarini Vexxum will be very balanced and the even weight distribution will make it easier to generate a faster bat swing. This particular model works well for both contact, and power players.
Merritt
Will this provide more power than the Vexxum NVS because it is more end-loaded? Is the sweet spot bigger than the NVS? Tr
The DeMarini Vexxum BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVNC) that you are referring to has a slightly more end-loaded feel than the 2015 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVXC) which would give it a feel more similar to the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC). The end-loaded style is a bit harder to swing but if you can swing it well, focusing the weight of the bat to the hitting zone can provide for more power.
Patrick
Is this and the 2012 Vexxum the exact same bat except paint? T
They are going to have minor differences. The DeMarini Vexxum BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVNC White) is not going to have the N2M cap and a longer barrel like the 2012 DeMarini Vexxum has.
Frankie
Does this bat perform the same as the 2012 model or the 2014 NVS? T
The DeMarini Vexxum BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVNC White) features a two-piece hybrid design with a C6 composite handle as well as the SC4 Alloy barrel. Additionally, it features the long-barrel technology which results in a slightly less balanced feel than the '14 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVXC). The DXVXC features a two-piece hybrid design with a C6 composite handle with the upgraded X10 Alloy barrel. The DXVXC additionally features a well-balanced swing weight. In terms of performance, the DXVXC will have better performance due to the upgraded alloy in the barrel.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
