11u coach
Pros: Best bat we have seen in years. Kids with new Easton's and DeMarini's are leaving them in their bags because this bat has way more pop. We have played 25 games with basically every kid using one of two bats and they are still going strong.
Cons: None so far.
Indy
Pros: feels slightly end wieghted, but not too much. Ball really jumps off the barrel. tough choice between this and the easton s3. glad we went this way.
Cons:
MetsFan
Pros: Huge sweet spot Seth is hitting to the fence regularly now because of all the pop

Pros: Well balanced. Great pop for all type of hitters.
Cons: White tape gets dirty easily.
Proud Dad
Pros: Just got back from Cooperstown and my 12 yr. old went 10 for 21 with a homer and drilled two more off the top of the wall. After shattering two Combat B4's in a week, the Vertex gave him the pop and confidence he needed. Great bat.
Cons: Some small paint chips.
2013 vertex Dennis parent

Cons: Nothing yet, so far so good.
Best bat we've bought yet Brogy's Dad parent
Pros: This bat is a steal for the money. I'm so happy to have purchased it for my 11 yr old son. He's getting more distance and hits and increased confidence using this beauty. Highly recommended.
Cons: Only con would be the white grip tape.

Cons: No cons
Nice bat, great pop, well made. RF parent
Pros: This is a very solid bat with excellent pop and soft feel. My son has been playing travel ball for three years and he has tried Worth, Easton, and Marucci. The many high end Worth and Easton models he used dented easily and frequently. After suffering yet another dent on a replacement bat, we were in the market for a new bat and came upon the 2013 TPX Vertex XL. We read the reviews and decided to give it a try, especially at the reduced price. What a good decision that was! I don't know what it is about this bat, but it is solid as a rock. After many sessions of BP and half a season of play the Vertex barrel is barely scraped. Solid contact is rewarded with incredible pop. This bat also has a more realistic "crack of the bat" sound, not the tinny sound that you get from many of the other brands. The Vertex is the real thing!
Cons: None so far.
should have gotten it sooner greg player
Pros: looks great feels great straight out of the wrapper
Cons: none yet
Coach pitcher Andrew coach
Pros: I pitch for our 8U team so I see alot of different kids and different bats. You can audibly and visually tell the difference between this bat and all other single piece alloy bats. We haven't even truely broken it in yet and it was hot the first game used. My son is a pretty good hitter and the ball comes off so hard that the defense doesn't want to play it. Great purchase.
Cons: Haven't seen any yet.
The pop beisbol player player
Pros: Has great pop and is very durable!
Cons: Lots of vibration. :(
Overall Review Sam player
Pros: Great pop out of the wrapper Pretty evenly weighed out When it hits the sweet spot it flies
Cons: Mine started to run out of pop after about 4 months The white grip gets dirty so fast It was a good bat for a little while but then it was awful
2013 Vertex is the best bat! Baseball Dad parent
Pros: Extreme POP! My 12 yr old USSSA Major player hits power with this bat. Being a small guy, he hit 3 homers with this bat last season with countless rope line drive. Perfect balance of pop and durability!!
Cons: NONE, except you're missing it if you're not swinging it!
Bat guy Bat Guy Parent parent
Pros: Great feel, great pop and very balanced swing weight. A tremendous, tremendous all around bat that is very durable and rewards good mechanics (unlike some "juiced" and "broken in" composites). Have an 11u son that has played high end travel ball for 4 seasons and this is the best bat he has ever used (and we've tried all the new bats in all different brands/sizes and compositions). Son likes the feel of an aluminum barrel and the bat has far exceeded our expectations. Great, great bat.
Cons: The only negative is the unusual green/yellow color combination.
coach Big joe coach
Pros: Good pop !!!! 2 3/4 barrel becareful with touraments <<its too big . Game tested 12 u 51/ 75 3 rd game in books 5 singles and a double . very solid bat playing northeast very cold 40-50 temps . No issues with stings . Grip is nice >>> This is my son's second vertex threw the years > The bat rocks, cold weather tested all good.
Cons: 2 3/4 barrel >>>> touramnets are 2 5/8 barrels .

Pros: great pop right out of the box hit one over a 325 field third swing after I got it
Cons: none at all
1 1 player
Pros: Im on a travel baseball team and recently joined...the first bp I wielded this bat around and smashed everything in my direction. The pop was great! Im sure the balls would have gone farther if i wasn't hitting those balls that are like hitting a pair of socks. I really think this is a great bat.
Cons: I hadn't gotten this earlier

My 9 year old son, is mostly a contact hitter with occasional gap power. He hit a 27" 17 oz. Worth Prodigy last year. Got an Easton S1 29" 19 oz. this year based on Bat Coach size recommendation, but it seems too big for him. So we may try it next year. Would a 28" 18 oz. My 10 year old has been using a Triton for the past two years and I believe it is time for a new bat. About the Brand
In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.
After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.
The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.
The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.
Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
