Based on your son's height and weight, I would probably suggest going with a 31" bat. The bat can also have any drop as long as it is an all alloy bat (like this one) or has an alloy barrel. Only composite barrel bats are required to be BBCOR certified in this league. You will not find a BBCOR approved senior league bat. Only adult -3 bats are BBCOR certified.

BBCOR bats are not USSSA approved. They are for high school and college play. Senior League and Youth bats will have the USSSA stamp.
Is this an approved bat for 14U baseball in IL?
With the 14U rules, If the bat has the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp on it, he can use a lighter bat. If it does not have the USSSA stamp then it has to be BBCOR certified which is considerably heavier at a -3 weight. Or it can be a wood bat.
Which is better for our 15 year old son? Easton Typhoon or Easton Reflex? and why? This bat has more positive reviews than the REFLEX, but the reflex has more alloy?
Both are similar in design, one piece all alloy. The Typhoon has a great pop. Both would be great for a 15yr old.

The Relex is made from higher quality alloy and is a notch above the Typhoon in terms of performance.
