Description

There's a certain standard of quality that people know they're getting with Easton little league baseball bats. That's why this year's models feature the Easton name even more prominently than the name of the bat itself. When fielders see you out there with your Easton bat, they'll know they better take a step back. Anyone that knows bats knows that the Easton Reflex has provided players with the most bang for their buck for the better part of the past decade. Made from Easton's high-strength 7050 Aircraft Alloy, the one-piece Reflex will certainly exceed expectations set by its price point. The Reflex features an extended barrel design with Easton's massive sweet spot to give players the largest, most reactive barrel of any alloy bat under $100. An incredibly light and balanced swing weight, combined with an ultra-thin 29/32" inch handle with a Pro-Tack grip makes it extremely easy for players to stay in command of their bat. Easton: Know-Feel-Be The Difference! The Reflex is approved for play in Little League, Babe Ruth, Dixie, Pony, AABC, and features the new USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: Spent hours reviewing bats for my 9 year old son, We decided on this Easton Reflex bat and are very happy with this bat. He loves it and its great for any little league player.

Cons: My son said it had some sting to it, I resolved this issue with new Easton grip wrap over the grip tape it came with. Problem solved no more sting.

Pros: The 13 oz. drop is the key. My son is in his first year of machine-pitch ball, where 6-8 year-olds get ready for player pitch, and the machine brings it in pretty fast. My boy is a fairly average-sized kid, a little stronger than some his size, but he had a terrible time getting heavier bats the same length around and couldn't reach some of the pitches with a 25 or 26. Our 27/14 lets him get his bat quickly on the pitch and with certainly more pop than less expensive bats. He connected once with a teammate's composite bat and the ball jumped off it. If you have the money, composite is amazing, but if you're like me, anything over $70 on a bat sounds crazy. Even the $70 I spent was a little daunting, but knowing this will carry him through two years and my next two kids through the same two years, it softens the sticker shock. And it's got the two most important characteristics in a youth bat: It does the job effectively enough to give him confidence and "it looks awesome!"

Cons: For me, price is always a factor. I would like to have paid less, but this bat is certainly worth it. And considering your price was about 10 bucks cheaper and with free shipping, I don't really have a con. I just hate a blank field.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton Reflex Youth Baseball Bat: YB13RX? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Which is the best for a power hitter: Easton reflex or Easton XL3? Big D
The Easton XL3 would be more geared for a power hitter than then Xl3.
Damon
Other than the color scheme, is there any difference between the 2013 Reflex and the 2012 Reflex? Mike
The 2013 Easton Reflex features the same construction, balance, material and performance as last years Reflex. The main difference is the paint job.
Tyler
What is the better bat the Easton Reflex YB13RX Youth or the Worth Lithium Amp YBAM13 Youth? Also, if you think something else is better. I'm looking for 26"-27" and 14 oz. youth bat that is approved for Pony. charlie
Both the Easton Reflex YB13RX and Worth Lithium Amp YBAM13 are one-piece alloy bats. They will be similar as far as performance and both approved for Pony. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Aubrey
Is the Easton Reflex YB13RX Youth a good bat for a 7 year old, contact hitter who is 42 Inches / 49 pounds? Theo
With a -13 length to weight ratio, the 2013 Easton Reflex: YB13RX Youth bat is a good choice for a 7 year old ballplayer.
Tyler
Is the Easton Reflex YB13RX much different than the S1? I'm not sure I can justify the price difference. I have a 10 year old that needs a 29" bat who is contact hitter with good bat speed Mark
Yes. The S1 is two-piece all composite. The Reflex is one-piece all alloy. The S1 is made from high quality composite materials and is know to offer more pop.
Tyler
We are comparing this one to the Rampage youth. What is the real difference besides 10 dollars? wolfchmm
The Easton Reflex uses a slightly higher grade 7050 alloy with a -13 length to weight ratio, whereas the Rampage uses a 7046 alloy with a -12.5 length to weight ratio.
Tom
Would this be a good bat for my twelve year old, 83 lb 5'2'' son. He's in PONY league this year and hasn't played in a while. Steve
Our bat coach projects that your son will be comfortable in a bat length of 29"-31". The 2013 Easton Reflex: YB13RX Youth bat is a great bat. It is a one-piece full alloy bat, featuring a balanced swing weight throughout the bat and an extended barrel for a larger "sweet spot". It is a good bat to help your son get reacclimated to the game.
Robert
My son has the Nike Keystone bat in a 26/15.5 with -10.5. How will the Easton Reflex bat in 27/14 with -13 compare? He hits really well with the Nike bat but wanting to upgrade to a newer bat, does the -10.5 rating mean that the ball with have a little more jump than the -13 rating ??? your input will be greatly appreciated , thanks keith
The minus (-) number is the bat's length to weight ratio and does not indicate a rating of any sort. It is never recommended that a player move down in weight with their new bat, especially if he had good swing speed. However, the Reflex will have similar pop to the Nike Keystone.
Tyler
What is the difference between the Easton Reflex and the Easton Convert? Jason
The 2013 Easton Reflex: YB13RX Youth is a one-piece fully alloy bat in a -13. The 2013 Easton Convert: YB13CT Youth is a two-piece hybrid design with an alloy barrel and composite handle in a -12.
Katie
Are there any differences between the 2012 Easton Reflex and the new 2013 Reflex, besides the color? wes
The 2013 Easton Reflex will have the new USSSA BPF 1.15 stamp while the 2012 model will have the old stamp. Aside from that, it appears Easton has added a Pro Tack grip to the new model.
Mac
My son is 7 years old and just under 4ft and 45lbs. I am looking at the Easton Reflex and the TPX Omaha both in the 27 inch 14 ounce model, which bat do you think will suit him better? He is more of a contact hitter than power hitter. CG
Both are great bats with similar pop, but the Omaha is known to be a little more balanced in weight. That is what I would recommend for a player who is more of a contact hitter.
Tyler
My son is 8 years old and is just under 4 ft and 54 lbs. I am looking at the 2013 Easton Reflex Youth YB13RX and was wondering if the 27' or 28' would suit him better. He hasn"t played baseball since he was 6 ½ years old and used a 25' 13oz. Easton. ABe
We here at BaseballBats.com we suggest a 27" bat for your son. He could go up to a 28" but that would it. The 2013 Easton Reflex: YB13RX Youth would be a great fit. It has a extended barrel with a massive sweet spot. As well as it is light bat so it wouldn't seem like that big of a step up.
Chad M.
How does the Easton Reflex YB13RX compare with the Reflex LX73? Matt
Both Easton Reflex bats will be very similar. Both of these bats use the same design and the same 7050 Aircraft Alloy.
Noah
My 9 year old son is about 4' 7" and 70 lbs. I am thinking about a 30" 17 oz. Easton Reflex. I am not sure if he would be a contact or power hitter, but he has good bat speed. Is this the right bat and size? TH
The 2013 Easton Reflex should be just fine. You may have him take some dry swings with it first just to make sure it won't be a little too light for him and if it is try a -11 not a -13.
Noah
I'm trying to decide on a bat for my 7 year old. What is the difference between the Easton Reflex and the Easton S1? Are there any similarities that are noticable? MJW
The 2013 Easton Reflex: YB13RX Youth is a one-piece fully alloy bat, whereas the 2013 Easton S1: YB13S1 Youth is a two-piece fully composite bat. The S1 is made of higher grade materials, as you see reflected in the price.
Katie
What's the difference between the Easton S3 and the Reflex? Tim
The 2013 Easton S3 uses a higher grade of alloy than the 2013 Easton Reflex: YB13RX Youth. It will be a little more durable than the 2013 Easton Reflex.
Kara
My son, he is 8, he is 4' 4" and weighs around 60 lbs. He is using a Rawlings Cobra bat 27" 16 oz. He wants to upgrade to a better bat and he really likes the Easton Reflex YB13RX 29" 16 oz. Would this be a good fit for him or would the extra 2 inches in length throw off his swing? jenk
With the height and weight given for your son, we suggest a 28" bat. I would go with the 2013 Easton Reflex: YB13RX Youth in the 28" 15 oz. That would keep his bat speed up where it needs to be.
Chad M.
How much advantage does the Easton YB13RX have over the Easton LX73? upsguy
The Easton Reflex YB13RX and the Eatson Reflex LX73 are almost identical bats because they both use the exact same alloy. The LX73 does not have the new USSSA stamp on it though so it will be illegal after 2013.
Noah
Does the Easton Reflex have a larger sweet spot than the S2? sfbball
The 2013 Easton Reflex: YB13RX Youth and the Easton S2 will have almost identical sized sweet spots.
Noah
Is the Easton Reflex balanced? sfbball
The 2013 Easton Reflex: YB13RX Youth is a balanced bat.
Kara
Can the Easton Reflex YB13RX be used in cold weather? sfbball
All bats, including the 2013 Easton Reflex: YB13RX can be used in colder weather. However, it is always recommended you limit the number of overall hits on your bat when temperatures are below 55 or 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
Tyler
My son is 4'6" and 62 lbs and is more of a contact hitter. I am trying to decide between the 2013 Easton Reflex: YB13RX Youth and the Easton 2013: YB13S3 S3 Youth. Which bat would you recommend for him? Bernski3
For a player his size, I would recommend going with the 29" 16 oz. model of the 2013 Easton S3: YB13S3 Youth.
Marcus
Is the YB13RX legal in an aluminum only league? We were told no composites, no double wall and no two piece? franco
The 2013 Easton Reflex: YB13RX is a one-piece full alloy bat with a single wall design. It will be legal in your league.
Tyler
Is this bat okay for ASA fastpitch? It's listed as one on a Big Box stores fastpitch bats website. Dad
The 2013 Easton Reflex: YB13RX Youth is not ASA approved.
Kara
My son is 10 and 100 pounds, will this bat be too light? Diggz
Based on his age, we recommend a 30" model in the youth bats. For further sizing information, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
What's this difference between this bat and the LX73 Reflex? Is this just a newer model? BH
The 2013 Easton Reflex: YB13RX Youth is the newest version of the LX73. They alloy material used is he same in both models.
Kara
I found this bat at Dicks in a 30" 17 oz. How does this bat compare to the Easton S500C: YB14S500C? Which will be the better bat long term and provide better performance? charles
The 2013 Easton Reflex has been replaced by the Easton S500 Youth: YB14S500. The Easton S500C has replaced the Easton Convert. The Easton S500C will be slightly higher performing than the Easton Reflex.
Damon
Does the Reflex or the S1 have a lighter swing weight? cj
The 2013 Easton Reflex: YB13RX Youth has a lighter swing weight since it is a -13.
Tori
I'm thinking about buying the 2013 Easton Reflex for my 9 year old son. He is 4'4" and about 60 lbs. What size would you recommend for him? Christy
Based on his height and weight we recommend a 28" 2013 Easton Reflex (YB13RX).
Kara
Debating between Easton Reflex YB13RX and Louisville Slugger Omaha YB136 (27 inch, 14 oz). My son will be starting machine pitch. He will be just turning 7 next month, small frame, about 42 lbs. and 3'9''. Last bat used was a Rawlings 26" 14 oz. bat. DaGreenMonstah
The Easton Reflex (YB13RX Youth) bat and the Louisville Slugger Omaha (YB136 Youth) will both feature one-piece all alloy designs. Both will swing very light weight and balanced. Either would be an exceptional choice for his size and age.
Brandon
What does USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp mean? lee
USSSA is the certification that the Easton Reflex (YB13RX Youth) is legal to use in. The BPF is the bat performance factor. 1.15 is how high the performance will be rated for USSSA.
Brandon
What does the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp mean? lee
The BPF 1.15 USSSA stamp lets you know that the bat meets the certification requirements needed to be approved for USSSA play that requires such a stamp. Most youth leagues require such a stamp, and if you have questions you can contact us or I would recommend contacting a league director for specific information on legal equipment.
Kyle J.
What is the difference between the 2013 Easton Reflex and the 2014 Easton S500? My son is 7 and has been asked to join and play on a 9 year old select team after instructional. I want to make sure he's not overwhelmed at the plate. Which is a better bat and which do you recommend? Darren
Of the two I would recommend the 2014 Easton S500C (YB14S500C) Youth model. The 2014 Easton S500C (YB14S500C) is a two-piece bat with a composite handle, giving it better flex during the swing and slightly better vibration dampening.
Kyle J.
Would you present this to an 11 year old if he was looking for a cheap and good bat? Evan
The Easton Reflex Youth Baseball Bat (YB13RX) is a very solid choice that's at a pretty reasonable price point. This model offers a very light swing weight with the -13 length to weight ratio, so it may not be the best option for this particular player.
Mac
Is this bat legal for a 5 year old tee ball league? pappa pidge
Yes, the Easton Reflex Youth Baseball Bat (YB13RX) should be perfectly legal for the tee ball league your boy is in.
Brandon
I see that this bat is discontinued. What would you recommend as a USA-certified bat in place of this one? We are leaning towards a 27" with a -12 or -13 drop. AshC
Although it is not available in a 27" length, the 2018 Easton Beast X Hyperlite -12 USA Youth Baseball Bat (YSB18BXHL) will be similar to the Easton Reflex Youth Baseball Bat (YB13RX) in terms of construction. Similar to the Easton Reflex, the Easton Beast X Hyperlite will feature a 2 1/4" barrel and a one-piece, alloy design. The Easton Beast X Hyperlite comes USA certification.
