would this bat be better for a power and contact hitter or would the cf5 be better for a power and contact hitter

The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC) is going to be directed more towards a power hitter because of its end loaded feel. However, the DeMarini CF5 BBCOR (DXCFC) is going to be directed towards a contact hitter.

I'm 12, 5' 2", and 116 pounds. Which would be a better bat overall a 31" 21 oz CF5 or a 31" 19 oz Voodoo (both are small barrel)?

If you are more of a power hitter the DeMarini Voodoo will be the bat for you. If you are more of a contact hitter you should get the DeMarini CF5.

Will bats with alloy material in the barrel have a better chance of breaking when used in lower temperatures? If so, what temperature is the lowest you would recommend me to use it. Are composite bats the same?

The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult would be fine to use in cold temperatures, because alloy barreled bats hold up much better in the cold than composite barreled bats do. I do not recommend using composite bats in temperatures below 55 degrees.

Hey, I am debating on whether I should get this bat, or the 2013 Cf5. I am more of a power hitter. So which bat do you recommend?

The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult bat would be more beneficial to a power hitter that can create his own bat speed. If you need any help with swing velocity go with the CF5. Otherwise, the 2013 Voodoo sounds like the choice for you. It will feature that barrel heavy, end load that the power hitters love. Plus, the all alloy barrel will not require any sort of break-in period.

Hi! my son is interested in this bat and I am planning on getting it for him. I need to know what size. He is 5'6" and about 135-140 pounds. He works out a lot and doesn't have any fat so he is very strong. His hitting instructor said if he can swing a 33" he should, but if he can't, then not to. He has used both a 33" and a 32" and did well with both. He felt more comfortable with the extra inch on the 33". Keep in mind he is very strong and can get around with both.

The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult bat is a great model. This bat does have an end loaded swing weight to it. It will feel barrel heavy. Power hitters tend to love this bat. If he has never swung an end loaded bat before I would buy the 32". If he has, and is familiar with the swing weight and feel then you could bump it up to the 33". Using the Bat Coach feature on www.JustBats.com I was able to determine that at his height and weight a 31"-32" was recommended. Since it sounds like he can create his own bat speed then going up to the 33" should not be a problem. Just make sure he is familiar with the Voodoo's end loaded feel.

My son is 13yrs old- approximately 105 lbs, 5'5 or so. Pretty strong kid. I think they say he needs 31 in for size and at 14 the regulations are for -5 bat. He is not a huge power hitter but definately base hitter and looking for a bat that will give him extra power/pop. What would you recommend? Composite? Anything else that will help us in bat selection? He was used to hitting with a -8 so I'm a little worried about going to -5. Thanks

For bats, with a -5 length to weight ratio, the Marucci CAT5 PREBCOR would have the most even weight distribution which would make the bat feel lighter. The highest performing bats with a -5 length to would be the DeMarini Voodoo, Easton XL series, the Anderson NanoTek, or the Metalstorm White Dragon.

Which is better for hitting for both contact and power? The DeMarini CF5 or the DeMarini Voodoo?

The DeMarini CF5 and the DeMarini Voodoo will both allow you to hit for average and power. The CF5 is a two-piece fully composite bat and the Voodoo is a two-piece hybrid design. Here is a link to further compare the two bats. http://www.justbats.com/compare/

I am 16 years old, 5'7" tall and weigh about 165 lbs. I am more of a contact hitter, but I can also hit for power. What bat do you think I should swing?

If you are more of a contact hitter and you like DeMarini's I would go with the 2013 DeMarini CF5 because it is more balanced and will also have great pop if you have some power.

The 2013 Demarini Voodoo BBCOR will have a slight end loaded feel to it. The 2013 DXVDC will be most appropriate for players looking for some extra power behind their swing.

Hi, I am 15 years old, going into 10th grade , I am 185lbs and 5'8, I am also a line driver hitter with some power, would this bat be right for me? And what size? I also need to work on my bat speed

I would recommend a 33" bat for a player of your size. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC is endloaded making it more geared for a power hitter. Because you are more of a line drive hitter, you should consider the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo or the 2012 or 2013 DeMarini CF5. Those bats won't be endloaded.

Yes the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVD5 would be a great fit for you. You will need to get a new bat once you get into high school because you have to a BBCOR certified bat which will have a -3 length to weight ratio.

I am 15 years old, 5'8", 130 lbs, and I hit lead off. I don't have that much power, but I am working on it. I can hit gap shots but mostly singles. I have the Louisville Slugger Z-1000. Which bat would be the best for me? The Easton S1, DeMarini Voodoo, or the Z-1000?

The S1 or the Z-1000 would both be good choices for you, because they both have a balanced swing weight. The S1 is probably the best choice though, because its two-piece design will better suit a contact and gap to gap hitters.

I've swung the 2012 model of the Voodoo and it didn't really feel that end loaded. I'm a contact hitter, but I found that anywhere I hit on the Voodoo it had amazing pop. Is this bat more end loaded then the 2012 model though? And would it slow someone's swing down by a lot or just a little bit compared to the CF5? I like the Vodoo better though.

The new 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR is more end loaded than the 2012 Voodoo and the CF5. I should not slow your swing down significantly.

I'm a contact hitter weighing 130 lbs and am 5'5. With 300 dollars would a choice of the 2013 Voodoo or 2012 CF5 be better for me? What weight do you feel is appropriate as well?

Based on your height and weight, I would probably suggest going with a 31-32 inch bat. Also, since both the Voodoo and the CF5 are two-piece bats, either one would be a great option for a contact hitter.

My son is 13 years old, 5 foot 3 and weighs about 130 lbs. He plays in the Little League JR division. He is mostly a power hitter but has been in a slump the last few weeks, not even getting a hit. He wants the DeMarini Voodoo but is this the bat he should get or would a one-piece fit his style better? Whats the difference between the Voodoo and Vexxum? It has to be BBCOR either way.

Most power hitters with quick bat speed prefer a one-piece bat and most contact hitters prefer a two-piece bat. Whether your son wants a one-piece bat or two-piece bat really comes down to his bat speed and what kind of hitter he is. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR bat has a slight end loaded feel to it and is a two-piece hybrid design. The 2013 DeMarini Vexxum BBCOR bat is also a two-piece hybrid design but has a different type of composite in the handle compared to the DeMarini Voodoo. Hey, I am 5'8 and I am line drive and sometimes power hitter. I was wondering what to get, between the new Voodoo, CF5 and also the M2M. Thanks if you can help:)

The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo would be a great choice. The two piece, slightly end loaded construction, would be a great choice for a contact hitter with power. The CF5 is going to provide the most flex, and the M2M will be the stiffest out of all three bats.

At 5'9" 160 lbs, moving right into a 33 inch model would be just fine. That is the recommended size for you and will not be too dramatic of a jump up.

Both are great bats. The Voodoo will have a little more of an end loaded feel compared to the Vexxum. If you have good swing speed and decent strength, the Voodoo may be a better option. If you do not think you have the strength and swing speed to handle the end loaded feel of Voodoo, then the Vexxum may be a better option.

The Voodoo is very similar and will be just about the same as the Marucci Black. The Easton S1, however, has a composite barrel and not an alloy barrel like the Black or Voodoo. The S1 will require a break in, but will get better the more you use it.
