What is the difference in the new 2013 RIP-IT -8.5 and the 2012 -8.5? We have the 2012 RIP-IT and my son loves it but the last few games it seems like it is losing its pop. Is that possible only being a 2012?
The 2013 RIP-IT Prototype: B1385 Senior League features new R1 Alloy for better performance and durability. It is possible for some bats to lose their pop after a period of time. Usually this is unlikely for a newer bat.
Two questions. We have a 2012 RIP-IT bat. Does it lose it's pop? Going on second season now. Second question, if I buy the new 2013 RIP-IT which would be better for my son, the -8.5 or -10? He is 13 and a big 13 year old and strong hitter.Thanks.
Some bats can lose their pop after a certain amount of time. If he is strong, we recommend the 2013 RIP-IT Prototype: B1385 Senior League.
Is the -8.5 more end loaded that the -10. Aside from the obvious, I'm wondering about the difference between these two bats.
The 2013 RIP-IT Prototype: B1385 Senior League will be balanced like the -10. Both are made of the same high grade alloy. The only difference is the drop.
My 13 year old is a smaller, contact hitter and uses a balanced bat. Is the RIP-IT balanced or more weighted at the barrel?
The 2013 RIP-IT Prototype is slightly end loaded, so there will be a little more weight towards the end of the bat.
Does this bat sound like a wood bat? and is it balanced?
The 2013 RIP-IT Prototype: B1385 Senior League is slightly endloaded and sounds like an aluminum bat. It does not sound like a wood bat.
Why are there so few 2 3/4 drop 8 or 8.5 options? Do you expect more? How would the Rip It compare to the COMbat 52 Caliber?
There aren't as many option available in that size because most players using the -8 or -8.5 will use the 2 5/8" barrel. The Rip It Prototype: B1385 is a one-piece fully aluminum bat, whereas the COMbat 52 Caliber is a one-piece fully composite bat.
Does this come in a drop 3 or not?
Senior League bats are not a-3, only adult bats. The 2012 RIP-IT Prototype II BBCOR: PROB2 Adult is a -3.
Is the bat 2 3/4? I thought USSSA only approved 2 5/8?
The 2013 RIP-IT Prototype: B1385 Senior League bat has a 2 3/4" barrel diameter and is also USSSA approved. USSSA approves both 2 3/4" barrels and 2 5/8" barrels. However, some leagues do not allow 2 3/4" barrels to be used.
Other places describe RIP-IT bat as 2 5/8 or 2 3/4 barrel diameter. Which is it?
The 2013 RIP-IT Prototype has a 2 3/4 inch barrel.
Is this bat leagal for Babe Ruth league 13-15 yr olds?
The 2013 RIP-IT Prototype is legal for use in Babe Ruth 13-15 year old leagues. Since this bat doesn't have a composite barrel, there are no size requirements or stipulations for it.
