Pros: Got it for our 15 year old. Only 1 game 1 at bat and 1 swing....drove it hard up the middle for a triple. Replaced the DeMarini Phenix with this one and she loves it. Much better swing speed and control.

I like the 2012 RIP-IT Reaper Light: REAL1 Fastpitch a lot. It uses RIP-IT's Beyond Composite Technology (BCT), giving the player faster swing speed, better control, and maximum distance on every swing . The Reaper Light has a lot of pop to it and the alloy barrel is very durable.

The 2012 RIP-IT Reaper Light: REAL1 Fastpitch bat does have the ASA stamp. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Hopefully, we will have a better image on the site within the next week that shows a better image of the ASA stamp. The stamp is partially visible in the main image of the bat. If you scroll over the image with your mouse, it will zoom in and you can see half of the ASA stamp towards the bottom of the image on the right. It will be on the side of the barrel that says, "Reaper Light".

I am trying to compare sweetspot size between this bat and the 2012 Miken Freak: FPFX12 Fastpitch bats. I have heard Miken has smaller sweetspot size....just wanted to see the data. heidi

The 2012 RIP-IT Reaper Light: REAL1 Fastpitch bat and the 2012 Miken Freak: FPFX12 Fastpitch bat will both have great sweet spots. The biggest difference between these two bats will be that the RIP-IT Reaper Light is an alloy bat and the Miken Freak is a composite bat. How does this bat compare to the Louisville Slugger Catalyst? blondie

The 2012 RIP-IT Reaper Light: REAL1 Fastpitch bat will have a slightly more end loaded feel to it making it a good choice for stronger hitters and is an alloy bat. The 2012 Louisville Slugger TPS Catalyst: FP12C2 Fastpitch bat is going to have more of a balanced swing weight and is a composite bat. Both of these bats are going to be very durable and high quality bats. I'm on the fence whether or not to get this bat or a composite bat. My daughter is 11 and the size she uses is 31"/19 oz. Fairly strong hitter. Any thoughts? Ice Mom

The difference between purchasing an alloy bat or a composite bat is going to be up to your personal preference. Alloy bats will typically out perform composite bats early on and composite bats will typically out perform alloys bats later on in the bat's life cycle Many players prefer the traditional sound of the ping and feel of the alloy bat, but composite bats are going to be very high performing as well. .

Does this bat has the new USSSA stamp that makes it good for play in 2013 and beyond? motis

The 2012 RIP-IT Reaper Light does not have the new USSSA stamp. However, it will be legal until September 1, 2013. After that date, the USSSA is required.
