Description

The Motus Baseball Throwing and Batting Analysis Sensor System is a wearable, game-changing technology used by some of the top MLB pitchers and hitters to track their performance for a more advanced workout. This system monitors workload, tracks performance, and determines when a player is ready to return to play. Currently, 27 MLB organizations use the Motus to give them an edge performance wise while also deterring season ending injuries. It is the first tool aimed specifically at combating UCL tears that lead to Tommy John Surgery. Over-usage and poor mechanics often lead to injury and the Motus provides movement analysis analytics and feedback to help athletes optimize performance and reduce that risk of injury. Detailed data with interactive video tools allow both players and coaches the ability to train harder and smarter than ever before!

The Motus Baseball Throwing and Batting Analysis Sensor System complete package includes: one motusBASEBALL sensor, one compression sleeve, one batting clip accessory, and one USB charging cable. The next-generation sensor has remarkable Bluetooth range and battery life. The same sensor tracks both throws for pitchers and swings for batters. A small and lightweight design will make you forget that you're evening wearing it! The compression sleeve for pitchers offers a sensor pocket that provides a perfect fit for your Motus sensor. It also offers a lightweight yet durable construction with multi-directional fabric for better mobility and support all while wicking moisture away from your pitching arm. It is offered in a variety of sizes (Adult Small through Adult XL) and fits either your left or right arm. You are able to wash it in a machine as long as you use cold water and an air dry. The clip accessory for batters helps secure your sensor to just about any batting glove, quickly and securely, regardless if it is a right or left handed batter. Also, it offers a lightweight design that is only 4 grams in weight. Last, but not least, the 18" USB cable charges your sensor from any computer or AC power adapter.

This is all tied together with the motusTHROW and motusBATTING mobile apps to provide real-time swing and throw metrics. These apps do require an Apple iOS mobile device as Android Devices are NOT supported. For pitchers, the motusTHROW offers an interactive bullpen session that analyzes pitch consistency, build deception, and identifies flaws across pitch types. Additionally, it will track your workload and determine the amount of stress on the Ulnar Collateral Ligament (UCL). It can be used in both Live or Offline mode so that you can either stream for instant feedback or collect data and download at a later time. For hitters, the motusBATTING offers a BP mode that will test their performance in nine different 'hot zones' and provide feedback regarding areas of weakness. Instant video can be scrubbed through in slow motion or compared to other swings (including that of MLB All-Star Andrew McCutchen).

For players, the Motus does a complete job of tracking your metrics on the mound and at the plate! For coaches, monitor and improve your player's performance, determine game readiness, and help reduce the risk of an injury. Great Investment in my Son's arm Lance S parent

Pros: $150 for a sleeve that measures the stress on my son's arm is a no brainer considering the costs of a visit to our doctor and the potential loss of a college scholarship. We use the motus sleeve every day he throws to make sure he isn't overdoing it, or under-doing it. We've never had this type of information before. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants their kid to stay healthy.

Cons: We accidentally put the sensor in the wrong sleeve pocket when we first used it. There is a blue one and a red one. Turns out the red one is for a five-sensor system they call motuspro, but that's not available here yet. Can't wait to get my hands on that someday soon!

Great tool for training and monitoring arm safety William parent

Pros: I was never a pitch count advocate because every kid is different but it was the only way we could make sure we were keeping our son safe. When I came across the Motus sleeve it gave us a great new tool to monitor how much he is throwing. They call it workload and provide recommendations for throw limits based on the stress on his arm. There are also some very cool training tools such as bullpen mode and video mode which allows you to see the metrics provided and watch a high speed video taken from your own phone! Very cool training tool I would recommend to everyone.

Cons: My only complaint is that there isn't an android version of the app available. We have an iPad so we were able to use that for downloading data and training, but if we didn't we wouldn't be able to use this product.

One Sensor does both throwing and batting! James player

Pros: This sensor allows me to track how many swings I take a day/week. Even better it automatically detects my zones and creates my hot and cold zones so I can really target on what I need to work on. I'm not a pitcher but I still wear the sleeve and track my throws during practice, it is cool to see how many throws I actually make a day and week. I have been able to see when my arm gets sore and when the workload is higher on certain days.

Cons: The clip sometimes moves when I swing and causes my bat MPH to be higher than it actually is. I wish I was swinging 98 MPH. I found a way to secure it on my glove after a few times of this happening and now it is good, maybe suggest in the instructions that the sensor needs to be secure when using.
