Mattingly Hitting Products (MHP) Company was founded to promote improved hitting ability in young baseball players through the use of the patented V-Grip TM baseball bat and Don Mattingly's approach to hitting. MHP has created the first truly unique innovation in baseball and softball bats since the introduction of aluminum bats during the 1970's. Early in his baseball career, Don quickly realized that the key to increasing hand quickness and bat speed could be found in the grip, and that a good grip meant positioning the bat in the fingers and not in the palms. We have been buying bats from justbats for several years and I dont believe there is any reason to look any place else. Our most recent experience was the best one yet, back in the spring of 2010 I called justbats to purchase a 2 5/8 barrel bat for my 11 year old boy who was playing for a team that hundreds of kids around New England try out for and this team practices for several months and then play in two tounaments, one in Lancaster, Pa. and the second in Cooperstown, N.Y.(week 12, tournament of champions) I picked Justbats customer service brains for advice on which bat to select. They talked me thru all the bats pros and cons and I chose the Combat B2 32/24. This bat has great pop, but it wont last long which I was well aware of, My son used this bat ECTB tournament in Penn. My 11 year old hit a ball over the fence( over 300ft) to win the ECTB championship, Our team continued to practice for the next and final tounament in Cooperstown, N.Y., Two weeks before Cooperstown the Combat cracked and was unusable, so I called Justbats and they were terrific, unfortunately they did not have the replacement size but offered several options to help, My son was comfortable with that bat, the size and weight, so Justbats gave us the direct number to Combat. The treated us like garbage, I talked to many different people at Combat and they were awful. I shipped (overnight) the bat back to Combat and called every day to see if they got the bat yet and it seemed that I was just bothering them and they told me they had to do a complete evaluation on the bat when they got it and they were not going to work with me at all, I was at my wits end and called Justbats and told them of my experience and that we were leaving for Cooperstown in 4 days, A supervisor for Justbats called me back immediately, He told me to hold on and called Combat factory and conferenced me in, The Justbats Supervisor told Combat people of the situation and instructed Combat to put a Combat B2 bat into a box and overnight it to my son and he would assume all responsibility, Combat followed the instructions, we got the bat in time, went to Cooperstown, N.Y. week (12Tournament of Champions week) Our team was the EMass. Allstars and we faced the terrific Manhattan Beach Eaters, We were losing 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning against an outstanding team and pitcher ( Lars Nutebar) when my 11 year old son stepped to the plate, 1 out, man on 1st, with his new bat hit a walk off bomb homerun to win the national championship. I personaly think my son was totally focussed because Justbats put his bat (security blanket)in his hands, I cant thank Justbats enough for stepping up and helping us fofill this huge baseball experience.
