Both models are the "Bone Rubbed" to make the wood stronger. The VW10 is the Vernon Wells model, thick handle and medium hndle for a nice balance. The AP5NB is the Albert Pujols model, has a long barrel with a taper that gives it a nice balance.

The Marucci Vernon Wells Maple Wood Bat is going to have a thicker handle than the MC44, and the CU26, but it is all preference. A thicker handle versus a skinnier handle is not going to make either bat perform better.
