Description

The design that has shocked the softball with its cutting edge technology is back and better than ever! The Z-2000 employs S1iD Technology that allows the barrel to flex to its maximum allowable performance level from SWING 1. Two inner discs are positioned inside the barrel at the sweet spot to stop the barrel from from flexing past the legal limit. For players, this means they really do get MAXIMUM performance allowable and a larger performing sweet spot. Louisville Slugger uses their high quality Pure 360 Composite on the Z-2000. This new thinner high-strength and lightweight graphite fiber blend allows for reduced wall thickness, creating better performance while maintaining durability. The thinner fibers have allowed Louisville Slugger to use more layers in the barrel for added strength, but with an overall wall thickness that is thinner. The iST barrel to handle connection gives players maximum performance, even on inside hits. With an end-loaded swing weight, the Z-2000 is built for performance. For added comfort, the Z-2000 features 7/8" standard handle with a synthetic grip. Louisville Slugger: Be the Best. Or Swing the Rest. The Z-2000 features the new ASA stamp and is approved for play in ASA, , and ISF. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

buy it andy player

Pros: Break in is quick. Only 175 hits and already clearing fences. Best feeling endloaded bat I've hit yet. This is the first oem grip I like that actually holds up.

Cons: Bat feels comparable in weight to my other 28 oz endloads but this one is a 27oz. So a little heavier than expected.

Jury is out. Tom player

Pros: I have had my new bat for several weeks. I like the look and feel, but not impressed with result. In fairness, I want to break it in more before passing judgement.

Cons: Does not have the pop or unique sound if my Z1000. I bought a 26 oz., but it feels heavier, more like a 28oz. Ball does not rocket off the bat like my 1000.

Sauceman40 sauceman40 player

Pros: This bat has a lighter feel than expected. I felt like this is more of a base hitters bat versus a power hiters bat. Had some good solid line drives and all hits felt good.

Cons: Didnt feel as this bat provided any extra distance to the balls hit.

Damon
How much end load does it contain? brody bangs
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Z-2000 End Load ASA: SBZ214-AE Slow Pitch bat features a 1 oz. end load.
Aubrey
Is there any difference in performance between the 2014 ASA Z-2000 end load and the 2013 TPS ASA end load version? The 2013 one seemed to get great reviews. Greg
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Z-2000 End Load ASA (SBZ214-AE) uses new Pure 360 composite materials for improved performance and durability.
Kara
I currently swing the balanced z2000. I was considering the end load. Is the sweet spot very small? Do you think I would get more distance with the end load? I get great distance with the balanced. KL
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Z-2000 End Load ASA: SBZ214-AE Slow Pitch is going to be durable and have a great sweet spot. End-loaded bats typically work best for power hitters because the end of the barrel is heavier and more momentum is needed to generate bat speed. However, this bat will also be able to also give you great distance.
Merritt
What is the difference between Louisville Z-2000 and Z-3000? al
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Z-2000 End Load ASA (SBZ214-AE) and the 2014 Louisville Slugger Z-3000 End Load ASA (SBZ314-AE) both use the same Pure 360 composite materials. The Z-3000 uses a new three piece design that helps reduce vibration and adds durability.
Kara
My league has just switched over to the Clincher Gold for safety reasons. Will this bat be great for this type of ball? outlaw
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Z-2000 End Load ASA (SBZ214-AE Slow Pitch) would not be good for the Clincher Gold balls. Those balls can be more dense and heavier compared to the .52 core balls the bat is made to hit. You would risk damaging the bat using it in your league.
Brandon
Do they make dual stamped bats for these? zach
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Z-2000 End Load ASA (SBZ214-AE Slow Pitch) is a bat certified for play in ASA only. With the Z-2000 line, the bats will either be stamped for ASA or USSSA certification. There will not be a bat stamped with both certifications.
Brandon
Would this bat be good for 44cor balls with 375 pounds of compression if not any bats that would be good for those type of balls rook54
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Z-2000 End Load ASA (SBZ214-AE) Slow Pitch bat has the new ASA stamp which is designed for .52 core 300 compression balls. The .44 core 375 compression balls are for the old ASA bats. The newer ASA bats like the Z-2000 can hit the .44 core balls farther but will severely compromise the durability of the bat.
Damon
What is the difference between Z-2000 -AE end load vs Z-3000 -UE end load? BobbySeal
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Z-2000 End Load ASA (SBZ214-AE) is the previous model before the 2014 Louisville Slugger Z-3000 End Load (SBZ314-UE) line came out. It is also an ASA bat whereas the Z-3000 UE is a USSSA approved bat.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
