Description

Many of the best teams in college and high school softball were swinging the Louisville Slugger Xeno this past year! That's because they learned the old fashioned way which bat was the hottest: through thousands of hours of practice and play. The dedication that Louisville Slugger put in to create the Xeno design really shines through in this year's model, and it all starts with S1iD Technology. This technology actually allows the barrel to be tuned to exceed the legal ball exit speed ratio. The catch is that a governor is placed inside that allows the barrel to flex to its MAXIMUM allowable performance from SWING 1. The Xeno features a 100% composite design, yet due to the S1iD technology, it needs ABSOLUTELY ZERO BREAK-IN! The Xeno features an iST design that gives this bat a solid connection between the barrel and handle. iST provides players a bat with a solid feel and HUGE sweetspot, while absorbing vibrations from mis-hit balls before they reach the hands. With a tacky synthetic grip and 7/8 inch handle, the Xeno will give players absolute control at the plate. If you are a fastpitch player looking for THE top-of-the-line bat this season, look no further than the TPS Xeno! Louisville Slugger: Leave Your Mark! The Xeno is approved by ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA and ISF. This bat comes with a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

11 drop!! YES!! Softball mom/coach coach

Pros: * 11 DROP!! I have refused to by my 12 year old a 10 drop because she just hasn't had the strength to swing the length bat she needs, so up until now she has not had a Xeno in her hands. With her recent growth and the fact she was swinging a 3 year old 12 drop bat told me it was time to finally get her a new bat. I went shopping for an 11 drop. I was VERY pleasantly surprised to see LS getting smart and designing an 11 drop 2015 Xeno. I knew that the moment I saw it that I was done shopping. Way to go LS! * The pop is amazing. Tournament before we bought her new Xeno she was having trouble getting the ball out of the infield. The tournament after – she hit line drives everywhere. She hit .600 with 2 extra base hits. Ball was coming off the bat hotter than I've ever seen her hit. Only thing that changed between the two weekends - the bat.

Cons: Other girls on the team want to use the bat so its getting a lot of hits. =( It's expensive. Worth it. But still hurts the pocketbook. (I just have to look at it like this - we spend a ton of time and money on the weekends going to watch her play - it improves our enjoyment of the weekend to see her have success and I have zero doubt this bat contributes to it - so the bat wasn't just for her, it was for all of us.)

Xeno drop 11 Joe Valver parent

Pros: Purchased the drop 11 for a Christmas present for my 12 year old daughter. She plays tournament ball and has never had great pop off her bat. That all changed with the Xeno drop 11 bat !!!!! She now puts the ball in the alleys and even to the wall. This bat is eyeopening that several girls on our team had there parents get one for them. I wouldn't have believed it if I had not seen it for myself. The best sports investment we have made to date !!!

Cons: NONE !!!!!

2015 Xeno 32 22 Drop 10 Bryan Drake coach

Pros: great bat lots of pop just like the 2012 2013 2014 we have all of them . the 2015 may have a larger sweet spot than its older sisters witch allows better results on miss hit balls. the bat feels just as good as the 2013 2014 great pop would recommend this bat for any serious softball player. my daughter plays year round A ball and i would feel like a bad dad if i sent her to battle with any other bat than a Xeno better than the De and the Makos garbage in my opinion

Cons: they say bats are hot out of the wrapper but as a bat scientist i can't confirm that. this bat and every bat need 500 hits at least before u are gonna get the trampoline affect u want in my opinion we have about 200 on our 2015 and its not quite as "popie" as our 2014 but great things take time. graphics are kinda boring in my opionion i really liked 2013 and 2014 they looked really cool i thought

Pros: My daughter plays 12U travel ball. She has always been able to make good contact with the ball. This bat has changed her singles into doubles, doubles into triples, and oh yes 1st homerun in travel ball last weekend in the championship game! We always had a Demarini in the bat bag until this year, now we will stick with the Xeno. Thanks JustBats!!!!

Not designed for younger players IMO. Tim parent

Pros: Feels good, nice ping off the bat.

Cons: Small sweet spot on the smaller bats (29-30). Not much pop compared to the CF line. End cap came loose after a few months of use. I know these are awesome bats for the older girls who use the longer models, but the shorter models have a much smaller sweet spot compared to other brands. Got this after my daughter was swinging a CF5, she liked it for a bit, but then we switched back to the CF8, and her hitting improved quite a bit.

Great bat Coach Steve coach

Pros: Wonderful bat. Bought this for my daughter for her birthday. She's 9 years old and 65#. It's a little big according to the sizing on the site, but she's strong and athletic so I took the risk. First game out she hit two home runs and continues to bomb away with this bat.

Cons: Not thrilled with the purple color.

Based on results from our Bat Coach (http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/), we recommend a 31" 20 oz. in the 2015 Louisville Slugger XENO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FPXN151) for a player with your daughters height and weight.

My daughter's hitting instructor is saying the 2014 Xeno's have a high internal failure rate, comparatively speaking, with the internal rings and is steering her towards a Mako. Has the 2015 Xeno addressed any of the internal breaking issues that seem to be happening in the 2014 Xeno bat? Or is there an identified reason that they are breaking internally. Eric
At this time Louisville Slugger has not provided us with these details. I would recommend giving Louisville Slugger a call directly at 1-800-282-2287.
Bobby
My daughter is using a 2013 Xeno the past 2 seasons. How many seasons will this bat last before it begins to loose it's pop. She thinks it no longer seems as hot as it was when it was new. Me
A lot depends on how much the bat is being used. If a player is playing very competitively the bat is probably going to be at the end of its life span after two full seasons.
Damon

How does the MAKO TORQ compare to the XENO 2015? softball44
Both the 2015 MAKO TORQ and the 2015 Louisville Slugger XENO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FPXN151) will be fully composite designs. They both will feel very balanced in swing weight. The biggest difference will be the MAKO TORQ's handle piece. The bottom hand position on the handle actually rotates a full 360 degrees. This helps with squaring the ball up more efficiently.
Brandon
Would hitting baseballs damage this bat? There is a batting cage near me that pitches real baseballs and I have my daughter use her old bat to hit them. It is a smaller target than a softball. j.pinkman
It is not recommended to use the 2015 Louisville Slugger XENO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FPXN151) to hit baseballs as they are more designed to hit softer objects. They would respond differently to baseballs and could be damaged.
Patrick
What is the difference between the Xeno and the LXT? violet
The 2015 Louisville Slugger LXT Fastpitch Softball Bat (FPLX150) is designed to provide more pop than the 2015 Louisville Slugger XENO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FPXN151) by featuring a new three-piece design called TRU-3 Technology. This new technology strengthens the link between the barrel and handle to give the LXT a stronger trampoline-like effect through the swing, while at the same time significantly decreasing vibration upon contact.

My daughter is 10, 5'0" tall and weighs 84 pounds. She plays Rec and on a 12U travel. I'm trying to decide the best size and weight. She has a very thin build and I'm guessing will most likely benefit from a lighter bat. Should I go with 31/20 or 30/19? Thanks! MEU
For her height and weight we would recommend a 31" in the 2015 Louisville Slugger XENO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FPXN151), however, if you think a lighter bat would be better you can always go down to a 30". It depends on your player.
Allison

Both the 2015 Louisville Slugger XENO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FPXN151) and the 2015 Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MK10) are high performing bats. I would recommend a 32" 21 oz. for your daughter. The Louisville Slugger Xeno would be a great option for her in that size. The Easton MAKO is only produced in a -10 and a -9 option which will be too heavy for her.
John

John P.
My daughter is 8. She 4'5" and weighs about 55 lbs. Would the 29" Xeno be a good option? How does this compare to the X12? What would you recommend? JSand
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of getting a model of this bat in the 28" length. However, if you think your player can handle the 18 oz weight of a 29" model, then you can definitely go with that size. This XENO will definitely be the higher performing option when compared to the X12. Overall, if you guys think you'll be fine with the 29"/18 oz model, I think it would be a solid bat for you!

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
