This season, the completely reinvented Omaha Balanced begins a whole new era for the most trusted name in bats. Made from Louisville Slugger's classic ST+20 Alloy, the TPX Omaha Balanced BBCOR will provide long-lasting durability and the consistently solid performance its fans have become accustomed to. Pros: This bat swung very light as others have mentioned. Went with a 32" because my old 33" was too heavy on the end. This bat feels extremely light. If you are looking the lightest BBCOR bat I would recommend this one.

Cons: Sound, has a weird ping. Different than other bats on my team

Pros: Good pop, well balanced. LS has very easy and quick return policy.

Cons: We have gone through 2 of these since the beginning of the season. Our team has actually gone through 4. In all instances the cap came flying off and cracked. LS says they have fixed the problem, but the early runs will still have these issues. I would only get bats directly from LS to guarantee they haven't been sitting in a warehouse as a first run.

Greatest bat on the market Jake from State Farm player

Pros: If your a power or contact hitter, this is the bat for you. No joke. Sweet spot feels like nothing, ball flys off the bat. even ground balls get hit hard with the omaha. Within 3 games of use i already hit my first bomb of my career. The new balanced feel is not a lie, you would think being a one piece it would be end weighted. Not even close. Balanced feel, stiff swing through the zone. If you wanna hit the ball to the moon, this is the bat for you

Cons: vibrates alot if not hit on the sweetspot, chips paint easily. Nothing major that cant be corrected with practice, or if you dont care if it gets scratched.

I am down to this or the Marucci Black 2 for my Freshman, top of the order hitter. He is 5'-7" 130 lbs. He loves the -5 Marucci Black for Club, but he needs new High School bat? Which one? Thanks. Coach Vince
Both the 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha Balanced BBCOR: BB136 Adult bat and the 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR Adult bat are great options. The Black 2 will provide a composite handle which will eliminate even more vibration or hand stinging. The Omaha may feel lighter in swing weight though. Both bats will be balanced models with alloy barrels. No break-in periods required.
Brandon
I am trying to decide on the EXOGRID 2 or the Omaha Balanced. I can not decide both drop 3 though. Which is a better bat in your perspective? Charlie

I am 4'8" and about 85 pounds and playing up on 60/90 diamond this Spring and need my first BBCOR bat. Would the 30"-27 oz. 2013 LS Omaha be a better bat for me, or the Rawlings 5150 BBCA2? NM
Both the 2013 Rawlings 5150 Alloy BBCOR: BBCA2 Adult bat and the 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha Balanced BBCOR: BB136 Adult bat are very balanced one-piece alloy designs. They are both good options, and the following is a link for further comparison http://www.batwarehouse.com/compare/
Aubrey
Will this bat hold up, or will it lose its pop rather quickly? Which bat has more pop, this one or the Exogrid 3? Tanner B
The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha Balanced BBCOR: BB136 Adult will certainly hold up for many at bats to come. It comes with a 12 month warranty so if anything happens they will take care of it. The Louisville Exogrid 3 does have an upgrade in alloy which should add some pop.
Chad M.
Which bat has better pop, distance, and a more balanced swing. The 2013 TPX Omaha BBCOR or the 2013 Rawlings 5150 BBCOR bat? tyler
The better pop would come from the 2013 Rawlings 5150 Alloy BBCOR: BBCA2 Adult, because of it's unmatched trampoline effect. The more distance would be the same 2013 Rawlings 5150 due to having more pop. The more balanced bat I would say would be the 2013 Louisville TPX Omaha.
Chad M.
What's the difference between the 2013 Louisville Slugger EXOGRID 3 BBCOR and the 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha Balanced BBCOR -3 bat? SP
The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX EXOGRID 3 BBCOR is a one-piece alloy with composite inserts in the handle that provides more flex. The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha Balanced BBCOR is one-piece alloy that is much stiffer.

What is the difference between this year's Omaha and last year's Omaha? And also, is the difference in balance between the two significant, because I swung last year's Omaha and it didn't feel too balanced. Dennis
The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha Balanced BBCOR: BB136 is a very balanced model. While most BBCOR bats use thicker barrel walls to meet the performance certifications, the 2013 Omaha Balanced utilizes a composite ring below the sweet spot. Our son needs an alloy bat due to playing in cold weather. He currently has a 2012 TPX Omaha which he says is "clunky". His favorite bat has been the CF5 2012 and 2013. He is a contact hitter, with above average bat speed. What do you recommend replacing his Omaha with that is appropriate for cold weather when he can't use his CF5? Katie
Even when using the 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha Balanced BBCOR: BB136 Adult bat that is all alloy a minimum temperature of 60 degrees is recommended. The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha Balanced BBCOR: BB136 Adult will have that ping sound due to the alloy material used in the design of the bat. Some players prefer a loud ping, while others don't. It is more of a player preference.

Both the Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha Balanced BBCOR (BB136) and the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC) would be good options. Power hitters would tend to prefer the Voodoo while more of a contact hitter would like the balanced Omaha.
Patrick

Both the Louisville Slugger EXOGRID 3 BBCOR (BB13EX) and the Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha Balanced BBCOR (BB136) would be good options. The Exogrid 3 will flex a bit more which would be more beneficial for contact hitting and the Omaha would be more stiff which would be more beneficial for a power hitter.
Patrick

I'm looking for a durable bat to last 1 year or more. I am looking at this bat and the Easton S1. Would this bat have a longer life span because it's aluminum or will the S1 last longer? threat13
Both the Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha Balanced BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB136) and the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S1) will be very durable models. In general, we have seen composite barrel bats like the Easton S1 last a bit longer in their peak performance level than aluminum models.

Brandon
Which bat has a better MOI the 2015 Louisville Slugger Omaha BBCOR or the 2014 Easton S2? Which bat would you recommend? KC
The MOI should be fairly similar on the Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha Balanced BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB136) and the Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S1) they are both well balanced models and have a light swing. The S1 may be a bit easier to generate bat speed with because of the flex it offers. Other than that, it would come down to whether you prefer alloy bats or composite material bats.
Patrick
Does this have more pop than the Assault? T
"Pop" is more of a term associated with the skill of the player rather than a measurable feature of the bat. The performance and design of the Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha Balanced BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB136) compared extremely closely with the Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBAS14-RR).
Patrick

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
