Pros: The Louisville M9 series is the best wood bat available to the public, period.
Cons: This series will be very popular amongst your teammates.
Pros: I gave this bat to my 30 year old son,who will again be playing in a hardball league this summer. He told me it's the best bat he's ever had. To use his words, he said "It's awsome, Mom!".
Cons: So far I haven't heard any negative comments.
Pros: great bat. this is my first maple and I doubt I'll ever get anything else. great sweet spot. love the way the ball feels coming off this. Fast shipping.
Cons:
Pros: Great balance! big sweet spot, and durable. good finish.
Cons: a little bit lighter than i'm used to in a 271 model but not horribly light.
Pros: Great weight distribution, it feels lighter than it is.
Cons: The way the bat is shaped, it makes it slightly harder to know exactly where your sweet spot begins, not much of an issue.
Pros: Great wood bat. It feels really light when I swing it. It is also very balanced.
Cons: none
Pros: this bat is great
Cons: it is bent. didnt realize that when i got it
Pros: Bat has a great sweet spot and delivers hit after hit. I liked this bat so much I placed an order for two more.
Cons: Only after several BP's did it explode into pieces.
Pros: great bat good pop hardly any viberations to the hands when hit good. Sturdy and great sound. used by almost everyone in the lineup at wood bat tournment and still in great shape
Cons: none yet great overall wood bat
Pros: VERY nice pop, can definitely go yard with it. Good weight distribution and nice little flair to the handle.
Cons: Slightly smaller barrel than most wooden bats, which really isn't a con
Pros: This is a great bat, reliable for my summer and spring season, great sound--very . M9's are one of the best types of wood bats hands down
Cons: really none, a wood bat is bound to break, and this is one of the better and stronger bats ..
Pros: looks sick. outstanding pop.overall a great bat.
Cons: a little heavy being a -2 length to weight ratio
Pros: In my opinion the best wood bat out on the market, just all around perfect
Cons: Absolutely none
Pros: This bat has lots of pop, and has held up very well for a wood bat. The handle has a great feel and my son who uses the bat has had great results. Not to heavy so he can generate lots of bat speed ,and it is well balanced. We are very happy.
Cons: I would like to see this bat coupled with a 2 or 3 bat bundle so we can save some money....no cons with the bat itself.
Pros: My first wood bat and let me tell you how great of an investment it was. I use it in batting practice and occasionally in games and it has lasted to this point about 8 months. The weight is balanced perfectly and as long as you get on the inner half of the ball with a good swing then good things will happen
Cons: Needs grip tape or pine tar
Pros: Decent enough bat, but doesn't have the double pendulum swing feel of the MZM-271.
Cons: If you are in tune to the use of your wrists and hands, then the MZM-271 is a cut above this barrel.
Pros: Good for 3 games.
Cons: Snapped at the handle in my 3rd game on a nice hit between 3rd and short. Only owned it for one week.
Pros: For the price, I could ask for nothing more in a bat. It lasted me a whole season of more than 20 games along with practices. Balls take off from this bat if hit on the sweet spot, and contact feels good and solid.
Cons: I prefer the natural finish that i got this bat in last year rather than the two tone, but that's just me. Not a con, just my personal preference. It is also on the heavier side as it is a -2 instead of -3 like most bats. Having said that, it doesn't feel particularly heavy when swung in my opinion.
Pros: Bat had a solid pop to it. Also had big expectations, but it only lasted 3 BP sessions.
Cons: Bat broke at the handle, right where the black handle starts from the top barrel. I have used several wood bats and I have never had a break at two opposite locations. When it broke, I lined out to third base on a solid straight hit.
Pros: The sound off of it, feel. Better than my metal bat (my opinion)
Cons: The barrel was smaller than I thought
Pros: Very light. Well balanced. Nice "pop". I like a light weight bat much more, and this is perfect. I have tried other 271s, but they are not as balanced as this one. The other brands usually have more weight at the end of the bat making it a bit more difficult to start the swing fast. Anyways, being this light, I have more time to look at the ball before starting to swing.
Cons: NONE.
Pros: his bat is amazing great pop
Cons:
Pros: Solid bat and that's about all.
Cons: I hate this thing. Feels as if there's no pop coming off the bat. The sweet spot is too small and you have to hit it exactly on the barrel to get a solid hit. I used a regular C271 last year and hit over 150 points higher than I have with the M9. Wish I had never used one of these.
Pros: it is a great maple bat.it has great pop and durability. my first maple bat. I would recommend this bat to anyone who is considering buying a wood bat
Cons: none so far
Pros: Well balanced, nice flared knob, durable. I hit my first wood bat HR with this bat. Just bought my second one ever.
Cons: Kind of a small sweet spot, but not a problem for me. Complaining about that means you stink at hitting with wood.
Pros: Pretty durable, great pop, light easy, balanced swing
Cons: Considerably small sweet spot, and me and a buddy bought this bat (both power hitters) and after a couple hits swelling appearded inbetween our index finger and thumb(on our top hand). This has never happened with another bats we have swung. Other than that it is a great bat.
Pros: im only in ll and not allowed to use wood bats, but this bat has a great grip.I use it at my house sometimes.ill probably use it when I get older
Cons: None
Pros: this bat is great it has a lot of pop over all a great bat
Cons: none

About the Brand
In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.
After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.
The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.
The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.
Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
