Description

**JustBats.com Exclusive** The next generation of Power Brigade has arrived. Now in its second season, this groundbreaking line of bats is unlike anything else on the field today. The concept is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series (XL1, XL2, and XL3) and the Speed Series (S1, S2, and S3). The XL Series is designed for bigger, stronger hitters who derive their power from a bat with more mass. Smaller length to weight ratios, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot and a slight end load characterize the XL Series. The Speed Series, on the other hand, helps players increase their swing speed in order to generate more power. These bats feature lighter length to weight ratios, a lower M.O.I., and a balanced feel. Further trying to equip players with their perfect bat, Easton offers all of its Power Brigade bats in a two-piece IMX Composite/SIC Black Carbon design (XL1, S1), a two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Scandium Alloy hybrid design (XL2, S2), and a one-piece THT Scandium Alloy design (XL3, S3). Two of the highest performing materials ever used on a bat, Easton's patented IMX Composite optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance, while their THT Scandium Alloy provides solid durability and allows for a larger alloy sweet spot than is seen anywhere else on the field. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology, and you've got a line of bats that can't be topped. Easton: Personalize Your Power! The XL3 features the new USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp. It is backed by Easton's Exclusive 12 Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Baby Prince Fielder Prince Fielder's Dad parent

Pros: The bat we previously used was the Easton Mako. We loved the way my son crushed the ball with it. After 3 months all of a sudden the bat started thudding. You never knew what you were going to get from it, power shot, or a weak pop fly. One day I got fed up and decided from now on only to use all alloy bats. However, I wanted to keep the massive sweet spot. I purchased the Easton XL3 30" 21 oz and my kid is back to his slugging self. My kid is a big kid and plays first base. An opposing player once said to him on base "So you're their Prince Fielder? LOL" I would recommend this bat for any big kid who is a power hitter. It's cheaper than the Mako, and outperforms the other bats in the 2014 power brigade series.

Cons: None identified at this moment. We just don't do batting practice with it to prolong its durability.

Jason
Can you recommend an Easton BBcor bat that is 2 5/8 Maybe a drop 9 or 10 LTR
A BBCOR bat features a 2 5/8 inch barrel diameter and a -3 length to weight ratio. This is the standard currently governing adult baseball bats used in high school and collegiate play. BBCOR bats will not be available in a drop 9 or 10.
Merritt
Is this made with the same Alloy as the S3? bat hog
Yes, both the 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X39B) and 2014 S3 (SL13S310B) will be made from the same THT Scandium Alloy design. Both bats will also feature a one-piece design.
Merritt
My 9 (almost 10 ) year old is 4' 8", 95 pounds and is pretty strong. What size of the SL14X39B bat do you recommend? Joe
Based on the information you gave, I recommend a 30" 21 oz. in the 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X39B).
Zach
Does this Easton XL3 have an extended barrel like last year's model? robert
Yes, the 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X39B) has an extended barrel and end loaded swing weight for added power. This XL3 (SL14X39B) is a JustBats.com exclusive and has a 2 3/4" barrel.

I am 5 foot 1 and weigh 115 pounds. What length bat should I get? Don't have a nickname
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend the 31 inch size of the 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X39B).
Patrick
I was wondering if I should get the Easton XL3 or XL2? I'm 5' and weigh 105 lbs. baseball beast
The 2014 Easton XL3: (SL14X39B) will have a one-piece alloy design. This will provide a little bit of a stiffer feel. The Easton XL2: (SL13X28) will be a two-piece hybrid design incorporating an alloy barrel and composite handle. This type of structure will provide a little bit more flex and is typically preferred by contact hitters. Both of these models will have an end-loaded feel, and will have the same uneven weight distribution. The biggest difference will be the structure, and ultimately this characteristic will come down to the player's preference.
Merritt
I am 12 years old. I am 5 foot 7 and I weigh about 187 pounds. What length and weight of the bat should I get? anthony
Based on your height and weight, we would suggest a 32 inch bat. The weight would vary based on what type of bat you had used previously and your overall strength and bat speed. Unfortunately, the 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X39B) is not available in a 32 inch size currently.
Patrick
Im 13 and im 5'10 170 pounds. Pretty quick and pretty powerful. Should i get this bat ? beast_mode24
The 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X39B) Senior League is an end loaded bat and would be great for a power hitter.
Damon
What is the difference between this bat and the -10 (SL14S310B)? Chuck
Aside from the one ounce heavier weight of the 2014 Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14X39B), the XL3 also provides an end loaded swing weight and larger sweet spot. Both bats are one-piece alloys and have 2 3/4" barrel diameters.
Mac
What would be the ounces on this bat for a 31"? MZ
The 31" model of the 2014 Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14X39B) would come in at 22 ounces, as it has a -9 length to weight ratio.
Mac
I'm 5'7" and weigh 110. I have a very fast and accurate swing. Would this bat be good for me? baseball_cranker10
The 2014 Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14X39B) is end loaded, which generally preferred by power hitters. Characteristics of a power hitter include being on the stronger side as well as having great bat speed. If you tend to hit for power, this would be a great option to check out. Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 31" bat.
Tessa
My son just turned 13. He is 5 foot 9 and weighs 140 pounds. What length and drop weight is best? The charts say 33 inches but that seems too long. RCG
Based on your son's height and weight, we would suggest that he use a 33 inch bat for the average player of his size. The drop weight would depend on what he had been using previously. At that age players can vary on what weight they would be using. When they get to high school, players will need to use a -3 length to weight ratio. The 2014 Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14X39B) is a -9. Transitioning between the two would be more difficult then going from a - to a -5 to a -3 gradually.
Patrick
Can my son use this bat in the cages with dimpled balls? Dick
We do not recommend using any of the bats we sell with the yellow dimpled cage balls. These balls are a different consistency than what the 2014 Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14X39B) was intended to hit and can cause damage to the bat.
Patrick
My son is about 4 foot 9 and weighs 80 pounds. Last year he used a 30 inch, 20 ounce bat and hit well. Do you think the 31 inch 21 ounce would be a good fit for him? Is this bat Little League approved? Sarah
The 2014 Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14X39B) would not be legal for Little League play because it features a 2 3/4 inch barrel diameter. Little league only allows up to 2 5/8 inch diameter and that is for the Intermediate division and Junior League division. A 31 inch 21 ounce bat should work for him if he has had success with a 30 inch 20 ounce though.
Patrick
Can I get this bat in a -5 in 30"? thomas
Unfortunately we have sold out of the 2014 Easton XL3 model in a -5 drop. We have the 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (SL15X35) available in a 30". The -5 XL3 will feature a 2 5/8" barrel compared to the SL14X39B which has a 2 3/4".
John
My son is 10 years old, 58", and weighs 96 lbs. We were looking at a 30", but according to the charts that is too short for him. What is the best bat for him? jbwilli
I think you're spot on at 30". If you'd like you could go up to a 31" 2014 Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14X39B) and still be ok.
Jake
Is this bat composite like the MAKO or is it aluminum ? Eric
The 2014 Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14X39B) is a one-piece all alloy bat unlike the two-piece composite MAKO.
Jake
Is a 2015 2 3/4 drop 9 model coming out? bombsaway
Unfortunately, there is no 2015 model of the Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14X39B). Easton does tend to change the barrel sizes and drop weights depending on what sold well in previous years. The closest equivalent will be the 2 5/8" barrel 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15X39).
