Pros:  This bat is amazing. It has a massive sweet spot and tremendous pop. My son used it at the Little League World Series where you can try out the bat. He hit better than I had ever seen him hit before. The 2013 Easton XL1 is truly amazing.

Cons:  None.

Pros:  The bat performed wonderfully right out of the box. My 85 lb. 9 year old was hitting line drives into the outfield quite easily even when he didn't "barrel" the ball. Can't wait to see what happens when he really nails one!

Cons:  None so far.

My son is 52" tall and 64 lbs. What would be a good bat for him? I would like to get him the XL1 30" 20 oz so that he could grow a little into it. He has good bat speed and power right now. I'm thinking he could choke up.

For a player of his size, our bat coach is recommending the Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB13X1) in a 29" 19 oz. model. You certainly could try the 30" 20 oz. model as well.

Description for Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat: YB13X1
New for 2013! The next generation of the Easton XL1 Power Brigade has arrived. Now in its second season, this groundbreaking line of bats is unlike anything else on the field today. The concept is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series (XL1, XL2, and XL3) and the Speed Series (S1, S2, and S3). The XL Series is designed for bigger, stronger hitters who derive their power from a bat with more mass. Smaller length to weight ratios, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot and a slight end load characterize the XL Series. The Speed Series, on the other hand, helps players increase their swing speed in order to generate more power. These bats feature lighter length to weight ratios, a lower M.O.I., and a balanced feel. Further trying to equip players with their perfect bat, Easton offers all of its Power Brigade bats in a two-piece IMX Composite/SIC Black Carbon design (XL1, S1), a two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Scandium Alloy hybrid design (XL2, S2), and a one-piece THT Scandium Alloy design (XL3, S3). Two of the highest performing materials ever used on a bat, Easton's patented IMX Composite optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance, while their THT Scandium Alloy provides solid durability and allows for a larger alloy sweet spot than is seen anywhere else on the field. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology, and you've got a line of bats that can't be topped. Easton: Personalize Your Power! The Easton XL1 is approved for play in Little League, Babe Ruth, Dixie, Pony, AABC, and features the new USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp. It is backed by Easton's Exclusive 400 Day Manufacturer's Warranty.
