Description

The next generation of the Easton XL1 Power Brigade has arrived. Now in its third season, this groundbreaking line of bats is unlike anything else on the field today. The concept is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series (XL1, XL2, and XL3) and the Speed Series (S1, S2, and S3). The XL Series is designed for bigger, stronger hitters who derive their power from a bat with more mass. Smaller length to weight ratios, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot and a slight end load characterize the XL Series. The Speed Series, on the other hand, helps players increase their swing speed in order to generate more power. These bats feature lighter length to weight ratios, a lower M.O.I., and a balanced feel. Further trying to equip players with their perfect bat, Easton offers all of its Power Brigade bats in a two-piece IMX Composite/SIC Black Carbon design (XL1, S1), a two-piece THT100 Scandium Alloy/SIC Black Composite hybrid design (XL2, S2), and a one-piece THT Scandium Alloy design (XL3, S3). Two of the highest performing materials ever used on a bat, Easton's patented IMX Composite optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance, while their THT Scandium Alloy provides solid durability and allows for a larger alloy sweet spot than is seen anywhere else on the field. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology, and you've got a line of bats that can't be topped. Easton: Engineered for Glory! The XL1 is BBCOR Certified and approved for high school and collegiate play. It is backed by Easton's Exclusive Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Easton XL1 zbartelt24 player

Pros: Absolutely no vibration on any hits on the yellow part, has a really sweet sound when you hit the ball, design is sweet, actually feels really light.

Cons: After awhile it kinda loses its grip due to dirt, but it all depends on what batting gloves you have. I, personally, use my Franklins with this bat and I lose my grip sometimes. i started using pine tar on the bat and it has worked even better.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB14X1? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Will this come out in senior league 2 5/8 barrel? Marc
At this time the Easton is only producing the senior league in a 2 3/4" barrel.
John
Will the CF5 LE and the 2014 XL1 last the same amount of time, or is one more durable than the other? Dylan
Unfortunately, it is impossible to correctly estimate the life of any bat. However, the composite barrels of both the CF5 LE and 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult give you the best shot at lasting performance. After the bat is broken-in, it will perform at a high level for a longer period of time than alloy. Customer reviews are your best insight into the longevity of a bat, but this 2014 XL1 lacks reviews as it has not been released to the public.
Mac
What is the difference between the 2012 model and the new 2014 model of the Easton XL1? E
The 2014 and the 2013 Easton XL1 models will have a higher quality composite in the handle than the 2012 Easton XL1 model.
Damon
I am 14 and going to be a freshman. I am 5' 4" and 120 pounds, is this too big for me? baseball38
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult is made for power hitters, so if you are more of a contact hitter you might want to try the Easton S series.
Noah
Can this bat be used with plastic or dimpled baseballs? baseball000111
We don't recommend hitting dimpled ball with any bat like the 2014 Easton XL1 because they are more dense than baseballs and can damage the bat.
Damon
When do the XL2's come out? How would the balance compare to the 2013 model? skkkpark
The 2014 Easton XL2's will be out November 1st. The Easton XL bats are end loaded bats, so the end load will feel the same as the 2013 XL2.
Noah
Is there a difference in the 2013 and 2014 model? Dan
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult bat will have different graphics than the 2013 version. The materials and design will still be the same though.
Brandon
Since the XL series is end-loaded and the S series is balanced, if I swung a 32" 29 oz S1 and a 32" 29 oz XL1 would the XL1 feel heavier? Baseball4Life
Correct. If you held the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR and the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR, you would not feel a difference in weight. However, the XL1 will feel heavier than the S1 when you swing it because of the end-load.
Justin R.
I am a power hitter, which would be better for me the XL1 or the Mako? paden
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult is going to be best for you, because of the end loaded swing weight.
Noah
I am 5'9" 140 lbs., should I swing a 32" or 33"? Colin
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 33" model in the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult bat. For further information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
Will this bat be similar to an XL3? JJbaseball
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult will be end loaded like the Easton XL3. However, the two-piece design of the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult will provide more flex.
Kara
When will the 2014 BBCOR XL2 and Xl3 come out? baseballforlife
Easton will not produce a 2014 BBCOR model of the XL2 or XL3. The only XL Series BBCOR model they will produce this year is the XL1.
Jason
At 5'4" about 130 to 140 lbs., should I swing the 32" or 33"? D_Russell
Based on your height and weight, our charts recommend a 32" model in the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult bat. For further information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
I'm 5'8 and 165 pounds. What size should I swing? Ogswagbone
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend a 32 inch bat. For more information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Tori
Will this bat need a break-in period? Nick
Yes, the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult will require a break in period since it is a composite bat. We recommend taking about 150 hits off a tee or soft toss and rotating the barrel a quarter of an inch each time.
Tori
Is the XL1 end loaded? nick
Yes, the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult is end loaded.
Tori
I'm a power hitter at 6'1'' and 210 lbs. I need a good power bat. Is the XL1 better for a power hitter or a contact hitter? jbravioli
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult is going to be better for a power hitter because it is end loaded.
Tori
Should I get this or the CF5 if I am a power hitter? nick
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult bat is an end loaded model and better suited for a power hitter as compared to the balanced DeMarini CF5.
Aubrey
I'm a power hitter. Would the 2014 XL1 or the MAKO be better for me? Luke99
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult is going to be end loaded and best suited for a power hitter. The MAKO is going to be light weight, balanced and best suited for a contact hitter.
Tori
i'm a power and a contact hitter pretty much equal. I'm 5'11, weigh about 185 pounds. Would the 2014 XL1 or 2014 S1 be better for me? baby jesus
The two-piece, end loaded design of the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult is a perfect fit for a contact and power hitter.
Kara
I'm a line drive hitter. I'm 5'6'' and 130 pounds. Would this bat or the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR be better for me? Erich
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult is going to be better suited for a power hitter because it is end loaded. The S1 would be better suited for you because it is going to be balanced and better suited for a contact hitter.
Tori
Would the XL1 be good for a contact hitter ? juan12345
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult is end loaded and best designed for a power hitter.
Tori
I'm more of a contact hitter. Would it be smart for me to swing the 2014 Easton Xl1 BBCOR: BB14X1 or the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult? eastonfan3839
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult is designed more for a contact hitter, whereas the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult is more end loaded for a power hitter.
Damon
Is the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14x1 Adult baseball bat considered a big barrel bat? Happy
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult has a 2 5/8" barrel and is considered a big barrel bat.
Jason
Could a contact hitter still use a XL1? easton rocks
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult is preferred by power hitters because it has an end loaded swing, but if a contact hitter has great bat speed the XL1 would work for them as well.
Jason
My son is a freshman 5"11" about 155 lbs, still growing. What length XL1 would you recommend, 32" or 33"? Mark
Based on his height and weight we recommend a 32" 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult.
Kara
I'm 6'10" and about 325 pounds what size bat should I be using? joey
Based on your height and weight we recommend a 34" 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult.
Kara
Would you recommend the 2014 Easton Mako BBCOR or the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR, I am 5 10" 165lbs JT
The Easton MAKO and the Easton XL1 are both great options. Both models are going to be a two-piece full composite design. It will come down to a personal preference between balanced vs. end loaded design. The MAKO is a very well balanced option while the XL1 model is going to have an end loaded swing weight.
John
What are the differences between the XL1 or the CF6? Nick
The Easton XL1 and the DeMarini CF6 will both be a two-piece full composite design. The Easton XL1 will have more of an end loaded swing weight and the DeMarini CF6 will have a balanced swing weight.
John
Is it USSSA approved? kks
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult features the BBCOR .50 certification stamp. It does not have a USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp, but depending on the division, a BBCOR bat is typically legal for play as well.
Jason
I have the white XL1 and am just wondering how do you know when you need to replace your bat. I have used this one pretty much non stop for about 1 1/2 years. Bman
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult would be a great bat to replace your previous model. I would make the switch when you feel a decline in the bat's performance. Be sure and check the barrel for cracks or dents also.
Brandon
My son is 12 but he is really strong he playing with a 2014 xl1 rt now hitting like crazy. Should I get him the s1bbcor or the xl1 bbcor? linus 12
For a stronger child I would recommend going with the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult, he will notice more distance on his hits with the more end loaded feel of the XL1
Sean
When will you have the XL2 playmaker
Easton has discontinued the Easton XL2 BBCOR model. Easton will only produce the XL1 (BB14X1) and the XL3 (BB14X3) in 2014.
John
What is the difference between the 2013 model and the 2014 model? Is it worth it to get the 2013 model? Krowzz
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) will have different graphics than the 2013 version. The materials and design will still be the same though.
Tessa L.
I am a power hitter. Which bat do you recommend? The BBCOR Easton XL1 or the BBCOR Easton MAKO? mike
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult bat will be the better choice for a true power hitter. They will appreciate the barrel heaviness and end load that the 2014 XL1 will feature.
Brandon
Is this the only color this bat comes in? Steve
Yes, the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) is only available in the yellow/black color scheme.
John
I am 5'11" and 198 lbs. Would you guys recommend the 2014 S1 or the XL1? reigs
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) Adult has an end loaded swing weight and is a terrific bat for power hitters. The Easton S1 has a balanced swing weight and is generally preferred by contact hitters.
Jason
Which bat is more balanced, the Easton XL1 BBCOR, or the Marucci Black BBCOR? CHC Baseball
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1 Adult) bat will not be balanced and have a barrel heavy feel to the swing weight. The Marucci Black BBCOR will be more balanced.
Brandon
I am 13 years old. I am about 5 foot 3 and 105 pounds. I currently swing a -5 Easton XL3. I still pull alot of balls. Do you think this would be a good bat for me in the future? Aaron
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) is a great option for a BBCOR bat. Given your age, it seems like you will be making that transition soon. It is good that you have adjusted to a drop 5 size first. The XL1 will be different than your XL3. The XL1 is a two piece fully composite design which will offer a bit more flex than your XL3. Also, the composite barrel will have a different sound and feel than the alloy barrel XL1.
Patrick
What bat is better for a power hitter? The 2014 Easton XL1 or the 2014 DeMarini OVERLORD? Mike
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) and the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD BBCOR (DXVDC) are both end loaded bats. The end loaded design is better for a power hitter.
Kara
Do y'all sell the XL1 in 33.5 inches? colebrooks63
Unfortunately, Easton does not produce this 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) Adult in half sizes.
Mac
Which one do you think is better, 2014 Easton xl1 BBCOR or 2014 Voodoo overlord? I'm a power hitter, and I like to drive the ball. 1000Homers
Unfortunately, one is not proven to be better than the other. The XL1 and Overlord both have slightly end loaded swing weights with a two-piece design. The XL1 may provide a slightly longer useful life with the composite barrel, but both are great options for a power hitter.
Mac
I have the 2013 S1 (BB13S1) and have noticed that I have a very fast bat speed. Would this be a bretter upgrade with more pop? willy
The XL1 (BB14X1) will have a little more pop since it is an end loaded design. Another option would be the Easton Mako (BB14MK). The Mako is a blend between the Easton "S" series and the Easton "XL" series. Both options will give you a little more pop for what you are looking for.
Zach
I am 5 foot 8 and weigh 145 pounds. What bat would be better, the XL1 or the S1? cam
The answer to that would depend on your preference. If you prefer a more end-loaded feel for a bat, the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) would be the better option. If you like a more balanced feel, the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR (BB14S1) would be the bat to go with. Generally, the end-loaded feel is preferred by power hitters.
Patrick
How does the weight of the XL1 compare to other heavy bats? bay bay
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) Adult bat features an end-loaded swing weight that will distribute the weight of the bat more towards the barrel. The XL1's feel will be comparable to other end-loaded bats of the same size.
Patrick
How does the XL1 swing weight compare to the Louisville Slugger Raid? bbb
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) Adult bat will have a more end-loaded or barrel heavy feel than the balanced 2014 Louisville Slugger Raid BBCOR (BBRD14-RR) Adult bat.
Patrick
What bat compares to the feel of the XL1? baseball
Given the two-piece, fully composite design of the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) and it's end-loaded feel, it is somewhat unique within the BBCOR certified bat category. A few hybrid designs would feel similar as far as swing weight goes but will have a different material makeup. The 2014 Rawlings TRIO End-Load BBCOR (BBTRI3) Adult and the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC) Adult will both feature a similar end-loaded feel.
Patrick
When will there be a 32" 29 oz. in stock for the 2014 Easton XL3? TZ
We are expecting to get additional 2014 Easton XL3 (BB14X3) in stock. For bats we expect a 2 to 4 weeks for shipment to arrive.
Zach
Which bat is better the Easton XL1 or the Louisville Slugger Attack? Speedy27
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) is a more end-loaded bat. This bat is more for power hitters. While the 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack BBCOR (BBAT14-RR) bat is a more balanced bat for contact hitters. Depending on how you hit, one of these bats would be a great fit.
Kyle
My son has the older model of the XL1 BBCOR: BB11X1. Are there any changes or technology advances with the BB14X1, or is it still same bat? Jackson
This 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) Adult bat and the BB11X1 both feature extended barrels made from the IMX Composite material, but the composite in the handle has been improved between models. The SIC Black Carbon Composite material in the BB14X1 provides a stiffer flex that transfers energy more efficiently to the ball on contact.
Mac
What BBCOR bat is best for me? I'm 5'8 and weigh 130 pounds. kingj
Our charts would recommend a 31" 28 oz. for a player with your build.
John
I swing a 2011 XL1. What is the difference between the 2011 white bat and 2014 yellow bat? Ryan
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) uses new composite material in the handle of the bat. This increases durability.
Kara
I am 5'11" and I already have a powerful swing. Should I get the XL1, or would someone like me get the Easton Mako? Also which could give more power to my swing? cleanup man
If your looking more for power I would recommend the 2014 Easton XL1 (BB14X1). The reason why is that it has an end-loaded feel compared to the Easton Mako (BB14MK) which would be balanced.
Zach
I am a freshmen that is 5'8" and 150 lbs. I stay in the weight room so I know I could get the bat around. I am looking for a little more power so I can get the ball over the fence. Is this bat good for me? tball
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) Adult has an end loaded swing weight and is a great for power hitters. The end loaded swing weight combined with your quick bat speed will help generate more power.
Jason
My son is a 6'2" 250 lb junior. He really likes the feel of the S1. He has decent bat speed, and I'm wondering if the XL1 is a better bat for his size and strength. Looking at a 34" 31 oz. size. Tom
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) is designed for a power hitter. If he has quick bat speed it is a great choice.
Kara
I just bought a XL1 white for my son for JV baseball next spring. Is there a difference in pop with it and the 2014 model? coach
The only differences between the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) and the XL1 white model are cosmetic. They will feature the same IMX composite barrel, so they will be very similar with regard to pop.
Tessa L.
A few of my son's friends continue to use this bat in games. We paid $400 for this and wonder if by others using this bat it affects it performance? I don't like it since we paid for it and they get to use for nothing. I just do not want this bat and my son to suffer from others using it. Please let me know what the result may be from others using this bat in every game. Thanks, a Baseball Mom. Baseball Mom-florida
Using the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) for team use should only help the composite materials break-in. The more the bat is broken in the better the performance will be for your son and his teammates. Rest assured ma'am, and tell those boys to keep up the good work!
Brandon
My son is a 5'8" tall, 150 pound 15 year old that currently plays in a Pony league. We are looking to purchase a new bat and want to know which size would be best for him to user for the next two or three years? gerid
We would suggest using a 32" bat for someone the size of your son, although you could go up or down 1" depending on other factors such as if he likes to choke up on the bat, how far he stands from the plate, how strong he is, etc. Some of our best selling BBCOR bats right now are the Rawlings VELO (BBVELO), the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo (DXVDC), and the Louisville Slugger EXOGRID 3 (BB13EX).
Kyle J.
Is this bat as end loaded as the 2013 EXOGRID? bbbbb
The 2014 Easton XL1 (BB14X1) will be more end loaded than the Louisville Slugger EXOGRID 3 (BB13EX).
John H
Which is more endloaded, the 2013 XL2 or the 2014 XL1? B-MO'S DAD
The alloy barrel of the Easton XL2 does give the bat a slightly more end loaded feel than the composite barrel of the XL1. The composite in the barrel of the XL1 seems to cut a bit more weight out of the bat, giving it only a slightly end loaded swing weight.
Mac
Which would you recommended for me the 2014 XL1 or the 2014 AXE Avenge? I'm 5 foot 10 and weigh 155 pounds. I'm a slight power hitter but I hit more line drives. t man
Both the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) and the 2014 Axe Avenge BBCOR (L140A) would be nice options. The preference between the two would be which style you like more. The Axe is more balanced and the XL1 is end-loaded. Also, the Axe handle is an adjustment so if you have a preference for that it would help to make the decision.
Patrick
I am 5'5" 205 lbs. What size should I get? big city
Based on your approximate height and weight. The suggested size we would recommend in the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) would be a 33/30.
Merritt
I have the older white version of this bat. I bought it at the start of the season. When I hit the knob on the ground I can feel little to no vibration. Does this mean my bat is dead? Or is this just how the bat is? Noah
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) is not dead if doesn't have vibration. The bat should not have vibration with the two-piece composite design.
Kara
I have the 2013 Easton XL1. It is dented. I was wondering if I can get this bat for free, if I send my bat back? matt
The 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR and the newer 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) will come with 12 month warranties from Easton. Simply call Easton at 1-888-259-1297 to file your warranty claim to receive your free replacement bat.
Brandon
Will Easton bring back the XL2 BBCOR? Why was it discontinued? MD
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) would be a great option since the XL2 BBCOR has been discontinued. We are unsure as to if Easton will be releasing another XL2 model. Easton's direct number is 1-888-259-1297 if you'd like to ask them.
Brandon
I was wondering what a good size would be for me? I am 5'7" and weigh 160 lbs. Rich
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 32" model in the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1).
Jason
What size is the xl1 barrel? tripel king
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) has a 2 5/8 Inch Barrel Diameter.
Jackson
How long is the XL1 barrel? bob
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) has an approximate 11.50" barrel.
Kara
I have to make the jump to a drop 3. I currently use a Voodoo -9. Would this bat be a good choice? jon
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) has an end loaded swing weight like the Voodoo. The XL1 will provide you with a similar feel to the Voodoo that you currently swing.
Jason
What is a better bat the Easton XL1 2014 or 2012? coppy
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) uses the same design as the 2012, but features an upgraded, stronger composite handle.
Justin R.
I'm 5' 10" 200 lbs. What's different between 2012 XL1 vs 2014 XL1? clayton122
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) 2014 Easton will feature the upgraded SIC Black Carbon Composite Handle, which will be stronger and more durable than the 2012 model.
Justin R.
I currently swing a Exogrid 33/30 and am looking between the XL1 and MAKO. I'm a power hitter. Which model do you recommend? CV
Both models are going to be a two-piece full composite design. It will come down to a personal preference between balanced vs. end loaded design. The MAKO (BB14MK) is a very well balanced option while the XL1 (BB14X1) model is going to have an end loaded swing weight. Typically, end loaded bats are preferred mostly by power hitters.
Zach
What are the difference between this bat and the TPX Attack bat? Are there any pop or sweet spot differences? Jon
The 2014 Easton XL1 will have a larger hitting surface than the Louisville Slugger Attack which allows for a larger sweet spot. The XL1 will also have an end loaded feel compared to the balanced feel of the Louisville Slugger Attack (BBAT14-RR).
Kelby
I'm about 6'2" and I'm looking for a bat that has a great pop to it. I am more of a power hitter also. Would this bat be a good choice? CJ1423
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) is an end loaded bat that is designed for a power hitter. It is a very high performing bat.
Kara
I'm about 5'4" 130 lbs looking for a good -3 bat. I am stuck between the XL1 and MAKO. I am small, mostly a contact hitter, and I'm looking for more power in my swing. Which of these do you recommend? lasershow
As a contact hitter, I would suggest looking for a two-piece, balanced bat. Therefore, I would probably suggest going with the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: (BB14MK). This model, once it is broken in, will also be able to provide you with a lot of pop. However, based on your playing style, this model would fit you extremely well.
Merritt
Which bat has a bigger end load: the XL1 or the OVERLORD? thatoneballer
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) and the OVERLORD have pretty similar end loaded swing weights. However, the OVERLORD tends to feel a little more end loaded because of the alloy barrel design. The fully composite design on the XL1 makes the end load feel a little less drastic.
Jason
I am 5'3" 110 pounds, which Easton should I get? baseball567890
According to your height and weight I would recommend a 30" length in the 2014 Easton XL1 (BB14X1). Easton offers something for everyone. If you are looking for a balanced swing weight design that tailors toward contact hitters I would recommend a bat from the Easton "S" series. If you are looking for an end loaded bat that is designed for power hitters I would recommend a bat from Eastons "XL" series like the Easton XL1 (BB14X1)
Zach
I'm 5'11 would a 32" 29 oz. be about right, I'm in 8th grade staring high school and I hit for power. Lewis
A 32" 29 oz. in the 2014 Easton XL1 (BB14X1) would be a good size for you. The Easton XL1 (BB14X1) would be good for a batter who wants to hit for power.
Zach
Im 5'6" 200 pounds. Im going to be a junior in highschool. What size do you think would be good for me? stampedepenna4
I would recommend a 33"/30 oz. based on your height and weight.
Bobby
I'm 5 9" 155 pounds. I will be a freshman in high school next year and want to buy a -3 easton bat. I hit for some power and hit hard balls to the gaps and up the middle. Which bat or series should I get? Speed series or XL or Mako? Brandon
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK is a good balance between the Easton S series and Easton XL series. It is balanced like the Easton S1 but has the extended barrel like the XL1, so it would be good for a contact hitter with some power.
Damon
I'm looking for a new bat. I mostly hit line drives with doubles and home runs mixed in. Even though I'm short, I'm pretty strong. Would this bat, or the S1 be recommended? Squatch
I would probably suggest the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR: (BB14S1) because it will have a very even weight distribution. This model will be balanced, and will fit the variety of your game very well. This model will also allow you generate extra bat speed a little easier as well.
Merritt
I'm 13 6'1" and 190 lbs. I use the CF5 29 oz., 32" I'm thinking about buying the Easton XL1 27 oz. 32." What is the best choice to go with? bd
The CF5 along with the 2014 Easton XL1 (BB14X1) are bother very good bats. If you are looking to generate a little more power in your swing I would go with the Easton XL1 (BB14X1). Unless you are wanting to just develop a quick swing I would stick with the CF5. According to your height and weight I would recommend a 33" length in the 2014 Easton XL1 (BB14X1).
Zach
What has more pop the XL1 or Voodoo Overlord? toots
Unfortunately, one is not proven to be better than the other. The XL1 and Overlord both have slightly end loaded swing weights with a two-piece design. The XL1 may provide a slightly longer useful life with the composite barrel, but both are great options for a power hitter.
Zach
I am going to a -3. I am currently using an easton surge -10. Would this be a good bat for me? Baseball01
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) is a great choice for any hitter that prefers an elongated barrel with an end loaded feel.
Bobby
I'm 6'1" and 160 lbs. I have good hand speed, but was wondering, will this bat be good for me? Mr Baseball
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: (BB14X1) will be a great bat if you are a power hitter. This model will be slightly end-loaded, therefore, if you have good hand speed this should not be a problem. The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: (BB14X1) incorporates high quality materials, and will be high performing. It would be an excellent bat to take a closer look at.
Merritt
I'm 13 years old, and 120 lbs. I am in need of a BBCOR bat for my travel team. Do you think this would be a good choice? Dylan
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: (BB14X1) would be an excellent choice, especially if you are able to generate power easily. The two-piece full composite design will be slightly end-loaded for added power. This model will have an extra long barrel, but will be very light. If you are a player that hits for power, this model will fit your playing style extremely well.
Merritt
My son just turned 13. He's 5'5" and 115 lbs. He was just using the XL1 Youth this last season. He now has to move up to a BBCOR. He has fast hands. Which bat do you recommend? nother day nother dolla
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) will still have that barrel heavy feel. The Easton S1 would swing easier as a BBCOR model and will feel more balanced. Both will be two-piece composites and have great pop.
Brandon
I am about 5'0" to 5'1" and I weigh only about 100 lbs. Do you think a 31" Easton 2014 XL1 would be good? Josh
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 31" model in the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1).
Jason
I am 13 and 120 lbs. What Easton should I get? What size? dylann
The best way to determine the correct bat size for a player is based on their height and weight. However, 13 year old players typically use a 32" bat. Power hitters tend to prefer the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) because of the end loaded swing weight. If you are more a contact hitter, the Easton S1 would be a better option. For more sizing information check out our Bat Coach: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Jason
Why has this bat been discontinued? jamesb
Production on the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) has been discontinued because Easton has started production on the 2015 line which will be released in early September.
Patrick
Is there a big difference between the XL1 and the DeMarini CF6? chris
Yes. The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) will be end-loaded and have a more extended barrel than the 2014 DeMarini CF6 BBCOR (DXCFC) which is a more balanced bat.
Patrick
Which bat is better for power hitters, this, or the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR? matt
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) will have a longer barrel length. I see many power hitting guys loving the XL1's swing weight and feel. The all new 2015 915 BBCOR will provide a great swing weight and balanced feel. The 915 would be made for contact and power guys.
Brandon
Which bat has a bigger sweet spot? The new 2014 Easton XL1 or the Easton Omen BNC2? Dylan
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: (BB14X1) will have a larger sweet spot.
Merritt
Which bat is better for power hitting this bat or the BBCOR Easton Omen BNC2? Dylan
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) has been preferred by the power hitters because of the massive barrel and an end loaded sweet spot. The Easton Omen BNC2 model will be more of a balanced design.
John
Is the performance in this 2014 model the exact same as in the 2013 model? Nate
In this particular model, the biggest difference between the 2013 model and 2014 is primarily going to be cosmetic changes. Therefore, the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: (BB14X1) will have a very similar performance, because they will both incorporate the same IMX Composite Barrel, and SIC Black Carbon Composite Handle.
Merritt
Does this bat come in 31 inch? DemonDrew
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) was made in a 31 inch size but we do not currently have it in stock in that length.
Patrick
I am 130 pounds and 5 foot 7 inches tall. What size should I get? ab
Based on your height and weight, we would suggest a 31 inch length of the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1).
Patrick
What is the difference in the IMX composite and the TCT composite of the Mako? t
The TCT Composite featured on the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) is constructed in a way that allows for a similar barrel size to the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) without the additional end-loaded feel. The TCT allows for a better balance with similar maximum performance.
Patrick
I'm 15, 5 foot 10 and a power hitter, would the XL1 be a good choice bat? Is there a big difference between the XL1 and the Mako? Cam
Yes, the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) is a great option for a 15 year old power hitter. The XL1 and the Mako are both very good bats, the difference between the two is that the Mako is going to be balanced in feel and the XL1 will have an end loaded feel.
Sean
Is the Easton XL1 better than the DeMarini CF6? jsteffffffff
Both the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) and the 2014 DeMarini CF6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) are nice options and perform very well. The major difference would be that the CF6 is balanced and the XL1 is end-loaded and has a slightly extended barrel.
Patrick
I am 14 years old, 5'2" about 110 lbs. What size bat should I use? Is the XL1 still available? Ben
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 31" bat. However, we no longer have the 31" models available in the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1).
Jason
I have slow hands and I am 14. I am really strong so I have a ton of pop but I need a bat that can help me get my hands around. What bat do I need? shamone
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) is a terrific bat for power hitters, but is not a great option for players that need help increasing their bat speed. The Easton MAKO is a better option for power hitters who need to increase their bat speed. The MAKO is one of the lightest swinging and most balanced BBCOR bats on the market.
Jason
I am 5 foot 7 and weigh 135 pounds. Do you think I could handle this bat in a 32 inch or a 31 inch size? ab
If you like an end-loaded feel like what is featured on the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) a 31 inch size would probably fit the best for you.
Patrick
I am 5 foot 5 and weigh 104 pounds. What bat would be best between the Mako or the XL1? david
Both the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) and the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) would be nice options. The preference would be based less on your size and more on whether you prefer a balanced feel like on the MAKO or an end-loaded feel like the XL1.
Patrick
I am trying to decide on bat for a 14 year old. He is 6' 190 lbs and has good hand speed. Can you tell me the difference between the S1, XL1 and the MAKO? baseball dad
The similarities between the three bats is that they are all two-piece fully composite bats. The Easton S1 has a balanced swing weight and is a terrific bat for a contact hitter. The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) has an end loaded swing weight with an extra long barrel, which provides the bat with one of the biggest sweet spots on the market. The XL1 is typically a great bat for power hitters. The Easton MAKO combines the balance of the Easton S1 and the extra long barrel from the XL1 into one bat. The MAKO also uses Easton's newest TCT Thermo Composite making it one of the lightest swinging BBCOR bats available. The MAKO is a generally better for a contact hitter.
Jason
What is the difference between this model and the new one? westmorlandjesus
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) and the 2015 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15X1) are very similar in terms of design and overall performance. The differences between the two will be mostly cosmetic in nature.
Patrick
What is the average break in time for this bat? Mo
We recommend 150-200 swings off a soft toss or a tee, to get the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) broken in properly. The break in time can be done within one batting practice session. Here is a link to a great video that breaks down how we recommend getting a bat broken in: http://goo.gl/ZXl556
Tessa
I'm 6' and 155 lbs. I have pretty good bat speed. Would I be able to handle a 33" XL1? Shark
Based on your approximate size, I would estimate that you would be able to handle it. The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat: (BB14X1) is an ideal model for power players. If your game is representative of a power players game, then yes, this model will work well for you.
Merritt
My son wears out bats very fast. He is a power hitter. I usually buy two bats a year. What bat would you recommend? He is 5 foot 7 and weighs 180 pounds. Jam
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) is a great model for a power hitter and has good durability. The alloy barrel 2014 Easton XL3 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X3) is also a nice end-loaded bat that is durable and good for a power hitter.
Patrick
Which wood bats have a similar handle to this? brian
Some common turn models that offer a 29/32" handle include the I13, 141, and many versions of the 243. For an overall feel most similar to the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1), I would suggest a 243 turn model.
Mac
What would be a good drop for a freshman in high school? I'm only 5'7" and 155 lbs. Cam
In high school and collegiate play, a drop -3 is required. However, based on your size, I would suggest 32" in the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat: (BB14X1).
Merritt
I need a good bat for my son. He is 150 pounds and 5' 5". What is the best for him? Dave
Without knowing much about your player, we really couldn't say what would be the best bat. Based on his height and weight, a 31" bat would be our recommendation. This 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) is a great bat for a stronger player because it has a slightly end loaded swing weight. I would say that more players would use a balanced bat more efficiently. Good balanced options from Easton would be the MAKO or S1. Choosing a bat really comes down to fitting the design to the player's preference. I would have him reflect on the design of bats he's used well in the past, and choose a model that is close to that.
Mac
When will you have a 32 inch 29 ounce in stock? Maverick28
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) has been discontinued since the 2015 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15X1) has started being produced. We are unable to order any additional 2014 models so we will not be getting that size back in stock.
Patrick
Do you have any referrals to where I can get a 32/29 XL1? Maverick28
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) could possibly be found on Ebay or Amazon. This is a very popular model and hard to find at a low price.
Brandon
My son is about 5 foot 2 and weighs 110 pounds. Which bat should be best for him between the XL1 or the S1 and what size should he use? C-rad Greg
Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend that he use a 30 inch bat. Because neither the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) nor the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S1) come in that size, you may be able to get away with using a 31 inch but I would recommend in that case that you go with the S1. It is more balanced and will be easier for him to adjust to.
Patrick
I'm 5 foot 9 and about 195 pounds. What bat length should I use? baseballmaster619
For your size, I would suggest a 33" in the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1).
Allison
Should I use this bat if I'm a hitter who hits for average with some power. I'm a big kid not tall but strong. I don't like how the s1 feels. Green
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) has a slightly end loaded swing which will add more power to your swing. We typically recommend this bat for power hitters and since it has only a slightly end loaded feel, the XL1 would be a good choice for you.
Tom
My son is 6'4" and 210 pounds. What size should he use? bbmom
Using our Bat Coach, we recommend using a 34" 31 oz. model.
Tom
I'm 5'9" and about 195 pounds. Which bat length should I use? Baseballmaster619
The JustBats' Bat Coach would recommend going with a 33" model of the Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) based upon your height and weight.
Ben
I am 5 foot 10 inches and 140 pounds, what bat length do you recommend? patboy
I would recommend getting the Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) in a 32 inch.
Frankie
I am 6'1", 145 lbs. and in 9th grade. What size bat would you recommend for me? cale
For a player of your size, our bat coach recommends the Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) in a 33" 30 oz. model.
Joe
I'm a first year middle school player 5'0", 100 lbs. What size bat in -3 category should I get? J.R.
For your size we would recommend the Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) in 30". Another bat to check out is the 2015 Louisville Slugger Omaha 515 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBO5153). It is extremely light weight and good for transitioning.
Allison
My son is 13 years old, 5'8" and 122 lbs. What size bat do you recommend for him? JD
For a player of his size, our bat coach would recommend the Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) in a 31" 28 oz. model. If he has been hitting well with the XL1 throughout his career, we would not recommend changing the bat.
Joe
My son is 5'5" and weighs 190 lbs. Would the 34" bat be too long for him? Mom
For his size we would recommend a 32" in the Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1). A 34" would most likely be too long for him and slow down his swing speed.
Allison
I am 5'4" and 142 lbs. What size do I need? chris
For a player of your size, our bat coach would recommend the Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) in a 31" model. Unfortunately, we do not have this size currently in stock.
Joe
My 14 year old son is 5 foot 8 inches and weighs 195 pounds, he's more of a power hitter. What would you recommend? kingsxman
Based on his height and weight we recommend looking at an end load bat like the Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) in a 29 inch bat.
Frankie
Which bat is better; the S1 2012 or the S1 2013? DGrizz
The Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB13S1) and the Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB11S1) are both extremely similar by design. The major differences would be cosmetic in nature.
Patrick
How on Sunday does the price go from $139.99 to $159.99 on Tuesday and now to $199.99 the same Thursday? Devin
The pricing on the Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) can vary based on our inventory level and how much we are able to get it for from the manufacturer. If it has been within 30 days that the price was featured lower, you can call in to place the order and we can honor the previous price.
Patrick
Is this bat more balanced than the DeMarini VooDoo Overlord? big ben
The Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) and the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will feature similar end loaded swing weights. The largest difference is that the XL1 is a full composite model, while the Overlord is a hybrid with an alloy barrel.
Joe
Do you sell this in a size of 31 inches? lilriccio
The Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) was made in that size but we no longer have any in inventory and cannot order any more because they have been discontinued.
Patrick
Is there a chance this bat will ever be sold here again in the 33" length? fish
Unfortunately, once we sell out of the Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (B14X1) in the 34"/31 oz size, we will most likely not be carrying it again in any size. It is an older 2014 model and is no longer being produced by Easton.
Ben
I'm 15 years old, about 6 foot 3 inches and weigh 160 pounds. What length bat would you recommend? Mitch
I recommend getting the Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) in a 33 inch based on your height and weight.
Frankie
Which bat is more recommended, this XL1 or the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC)? brett
The Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) is a two piece composite bat with an end loaded swing weight. The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is a two piece hybrid bat with an end loaded swing weight. Both bats are high quality and would be good options for you. The choice is going to come down to personal preference on barrel material.
Tom
I'm more of a contact hitter, should I go with the Mako or S1? Nikke Baseball
The Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) is going to be designed for a power hitter and the Easton Mako and Easton S1 are both going to be designed for a contact hitter.
Frankie
What are the differences between the MAKO and S1? nike baseball
The MAKO is going to be a blend of the XL and S series from Easton. It will have the extended barrel of the XL and maintains the balanced feel of the S series. The S series will be more balanced and will also have a shorter barrel. The Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) will be end-loaded and have the extended barrel for a larger sweet spot.

My son is 12 years old. He is 5 foot 3 and weighs 105 pounds. Is he better off with a Mako or an XL1? Liz
Ultimately, whether the Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) or Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) would be better would be based on the player's preference of a balanced or end-loaded style. However, given his size, I would assume that a balanced BBCOR bat like the MAKO would be a better choice.
Patrick
I am a Junior in high school. I'm 6'2'' and weigh 225 lbs. What size would you recommend? brad
Given your height and weight, I would recommend going with a 34" 31 oz. model of the Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB14X1.
Marcus
My son is 6 foot 2 and 180 pounds. He wants this bat more than the MAKO XL. Any models left of this bat? Vaughn
Based upon your player's height and weight, we would make a general recommendation of going with a 34" BBCOR bat. Sadly, since Easton is not actively making this Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) or the 2015 XL1 BBCOR any longer, we would not be able to fulfill your request of getting this model of bat.
Ben
