Pros: Great pop and big sweet spot. It is hot out of wrapper (and I hate when you see that ina review but it's true) The ball really does fly off this bat and my 11 year old loves it.

Cons: It started showing spider webbing on barrel only after a few hits of BP. After a couple practices, the finish is starting to chip on barrel. Hasn't effected performance but afraid umpire will say we can't use in game beause of chipping and webbing. Remains to be seen. Daughter stil loves this bat.

Pros: Great, Amazing Bat. Hits Hard, Lasts Long, Hits Balls Out Of This World. The Ball Will Pounce Off As If It Were A Trampoline.

Cons: It Does Chip But Not As Much As Everyone Is Saying It Is. It DOES NOT affect the performance. At All.

Pros: I can not think of any!

Cons: Dead. Should have stuck with the 2011 design. I have a 2011 synge and its amazing. Any one who gives this bat gopd reviews obviously hasnt had a better bat in there hands. It is not hot out of the wrapper. It is forgiving but that's about it. If you have good bat speed this bat will not benefit you.

Pros: This Bat is great out the wrapper. Good graphics and true to weight. I always right out of the wrapper check the weight of my bats. Buying a good bat for my daughter was important. Her first time using was excellent good "pop". She went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. Price was great cheapest I could find on the internet. It was even cheaper then my deals i get from my Men's tourney team I run. I would recommend this bat for anybody that is looking for a good first time . This is a bat that you would get your daughter to make the transition for cheap store bought to a good quality bat.

Pros: Great pop! I had the 2011 synge for when i was 12. We got it because I was little, and it was light. Then that one cracked and easton sent me this one. Overall its a great bat, no problems at all for me! the only thing is I've outgrown this one, but that's not the bats fault!

Pros: The performance was good. 6 year old got more distance on this bat than any of the others on the team. Line drive to the outfield, second at bat with the bat.

Cons: Second at bat and it already started to chip. It looks pitted in one spot. Not sure how it will turn out, since she's only had one practice and 2 at bats.

Pros: Balanced swing weight, nice looks.

Cons: Just like most composites you have to find the right hand strength at impact or the bat will not perform. It's an average bat, nothing special. It is forgiving in the sense that you have a longer sweet spot - BUT that does not mean it pops any better.

Pros: Looks nice

Cons: I can't believe all the 'great pop' comments. This bat is below average and over priced. This is the second Easton in a row that I'm disappointed with so I'm done with them. My daughter borrowed a $22 alum Worth Storm and its twice the bat. I just ordered the new Lithium Worth Storm for $59.99.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton Synge Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP11SG? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Do we know yet how well this bat will compare to the 2011 Synge? Softball Dad
Easton extended the sweet spot, and they changed the composite design. This bat will perform as good or better than the last Synge.
Linda
DOES THE FP11SG HAVE THE WORDS "OFFICIAL SOFTBALL" STAMPED ON THE HANDLE? THIS STAMP IS NEEDED FOR DIXIE SOFTBALL PLAY. SOFTBALL DAD 15
Yes. Just above the grip on the handle there is an "Official Softball" stamp.
TJ
How does the FP11SG compare with the DeMarini DXCFS? Tom
The FP11SG is going to be a -11.5 drop. It is also going to have more of a expanded sweetspot.
Ryan
No reviews are posted yet so do you have any feedback on this bat and how it is performing? Pops
All of the feedback we've heard on this bat has been very positive. The expanded sweetspot gives the bat great "pop" and the bat is very easy to swing. It also has been said to have great control and balance.
Robb
I cannot decide between the Easton Synge: FP11SG and the Mizuno Avalanche ($74.99). Can you tell me the main differences? Greg
The Easton Synge will have a one piece composite frame while the Mizuno Avalanche will be a one piece all alloy. The Avalanche will be an ounce lighter than the Synge because it has a drop of -12.5 and the Synge has a drop of -11.5.
Allen
How does it compare against the 2011 Synge SRV6B Fastpitch (White/Black/Yellow model)? Allan
Easton enlarged the size of the sweetspot this year and changed the color scheme, but otherwise these bats are going to be very similar.
Patrick
Does this bat have the USSSA stamp that it will be legal in 2013? Susan
It absolutely does! If you look at the small pictures at the top of this webpage, and enlarge the second picture in the left row, you will be able to see the new stamp printed on this bat.
Jennifer
Is this bat a single-wall bat ? steve
The 2012 Easton Synge is a double wall bat.
Kara
Does this have the ASA 2012 stamp that will be required in 2013? Ernie
The 2012 Easton Synge has the new ASA stamp.
Kara
Is the 2012 Easton Synge FP11SG Fastpitch bat approved for Dixie Youth play? softballfan12
The 2012 Easton Synge is approved for Dixie Youth play.
Kara
Why does the bat not have a "ding" like many others? Smash
The 2012 Easton Synge is a composite bat. Composite bats make a crack or thud type sound when hit and alloy bats make a ping type sound.
Nick K.
Is the Synge an end loaded bat? I am also looking at the 2013 DeMarini DXCFS; how do they compare and does -11 vs -11.5 make a difference? Bigger sweet spot? Thanks. Jack
The 2012 Easton Synge is a balanced bat. However, it will be stiffer than the 2013 DeMarini DXCFS, better suited for a power hitter. The -11 and the -11.5 have the same size sweet spot.
Kara
What is the break-in period on the Easton Synge? tomv
We recommend 150-200 swings to fully break in the Easton Synge and any other composite barreled bat you may be interested in.
Tom
Can the bat be returned if like some of the reviews state the paint starts chipping? Mike
The 2012 Easton Synge: FP11SG Fastpitch bat is covered under a full warranty through Easton. Paint chips will not effect the performance of the bat, but you would be able to send it back to Easton for a warranty replacement.
Tyler
We're going back & forth between the Easton Synge & Demarini Vendetta C6. 10yr old contact hitter, not a power hitter. Which is better? Mak
Many contact hitters who have average or below average strength prefer two piece bats. Although, most comes down to personal preference, I would lean towards the C6 since it's a two piece bat.
Tyler
I am considering the Demarini 2012 CF5 (-11) for my 11 yr old daughter. She currently is using the Easton aluminum 31" 19.5 oz. Which bat is better and would be closest to the one she currently has? sandi
The Easton Synge: FP11SG Fastpitch is a one piece bat and will be most comparable to a one-piece alloy bat.
Kara
I'm considering the Easton Synge for my daughter. I don't know what length to buy. She's 5'9", 135 lbs. What would be best, 33" or 34"? watty
Based on her height and weight, we recommend a 33" model in the Easton Synge: FP11SG Fastpitch bat. For more information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
Daughter will be nine in May. 28, 29, or 30 inch bat? Not a power hitter. H
Based on her age, we recommend a 29" model in the Easton synge: FP11SG Fastpitch bat. For more information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
Daughter will be nine in May. 28, 29, or 30 inch bat? Not a power hitter. H
The size of the bat is determined by height and weight. Please check out our bat coach for proper sizing; http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/.
Kara
Is this bat good for a 15 year old that's 5' 2", and which size should she get? Second question would be is this bat better then the Jennie Finch G5 fastpitch bat? Which one would you recommend? Gigi
Try using our bat coach to find out which length is best for your daughter. Here is the link. http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/ The Easton Synge is going to be a better bat, because of the composite material is better than alloy when it comes to fastpitch.
Noah
I'm considering the 2012 Easton Synge for my daughter but am worried about the barrel chipping as the other reviewers mentioned. Is this something I need to worry about? Is this a manufacturer defect or something that happens to composite bats? Angela
The Easton Synge: FP11SG does have a couple of reviews about the paint chipping, but it does not effect the performance or durability of the bat. It is most likely due to the bat being dropped onto the dirt after the ball is hit.
Marcus
I have been trying to pick a bat for my daughter who plays in 12u ball. I've been looking at the Easton Synge:FP11SG and Easton CV12:SCG1B. We live in a cooler climate, so I was wondering which bat to choose? coaching dad
Both the Easton Synge: FP11SG Fastpitch and the Easton CV12: SCG1B Fastpitch are great bats. They are both one-piece designs. The CV12 will have a slightly end loaded feel to the swing weight to go along with its all alloy design. The Synge will have an all composite design. The Synge will typically be used in 55 degree and above weather. Both bats will lose performance in colder temperatures because the softball becomes more dense and heavier.
Brandon
What is the correct way to break in the Easton Synge? Bookworm
Best way to break in composite bats would be to take at least 200 hits from soft toss. Also, make sure to rotate the bat a quarter of a turn every couple swings to make sure you are taking hits evenly on all sides to break up the material.
Derek
Compare this bat to the 2010 white and yellow Synge. True Grit
The white and yellow Synge (model #SRV6B), was actually a 2011 model. The only major difference is that the 2012 Easton Synge: FP11SG features an upgraded CNT Composite in the handle to provide better durability and a slightly stiffer feel.
Tyler
Does this bat have a carbon fiber handle? If not, what is the material? JoJo
The Easton Synge: FP11SG Fastpitch is a one-piece fully composite bat. Both the handle and the barrel consist of carbon fibers.
Katie
Is this bat legal in Little League? I know some of the rules changed this year but this bat is not on their current list. Joe
The Easton Synge: FP11SG Fastpitch is legal in Little League Softball. Little League Softball rules only require a BPF 1.20 stamp. Here is the link to the rules; http://www.littleleague.org/media/newsarchive/2012/Sep-Dec/Bulletin-SignificantRuleRegulationChanges2013.htm
Kara
Can you customize someone's name on this bat? angela
Unfortunately, we do not customize or engrave bats. Please contact Easton for further information at 888-259-1297.
Frank
How much does the bat weigh? Tahj
The Easton Synge: FP11SG Fastpitch bat features a -11.5 length to weight ratio.
Aubrey
My daughter is 11, almost 12 and I want to get her a new bat. She can really hit the ball, will that make the paint chip? Also, she is like 5 feet 3 inches tall, what size bat is recommended? softballbat
With the height given we suggest a 32" in bat. I would suggest the Easton Synge: FP11SG Fastpitch it is one of our most popular fastpitch bats on the market.
Chad M.
If this is the 2012 model, then is there a 2013 model? Some reviews on other sites refer to a 2013 Easton Synge, but it looks the same. softball mom
The Easton Synge: FP11SG Fastpitch is a 2012 model. Easton didn't make a 2013 model.
Chad M.
My granddaughter is 16, 135 lbs. and 65" in height. Will the 34" 22.5 ounce be a problem for her? Mike
With the height and weight given we suggest that your granddaughter get the Easton Synge: FP11SG Fastpitch in the 32" 20.5 oz. size.
Chad M.
I'm 17 and looking for a really good composite bat. A lot of these reviews have daughters that are like 11 or 12, is this bat specifically for younger girls? Tater
At drop -11.5, the Easton Synge: FP11SG Fastpitch is designed with younger girls in mind. At high school level play, the most common weights are drop -8 to -10.
Kevin
My daughter is 13 and we are looking at getting her a new bat, she is 5' 8'' tall and she swings a 32" 22 oz. bat and we are wondering what length and weight to get or what bat to get if you don't recommend this one. Shelshel1800
The Easton Synge: FP11SG Fastpitch bat will have a drop of 11.5. It will be lighter than her -10, 32" 22 oz. I would stay at the -10 size instead of trying to get a lighter bat. Checkout this option: 2013 Louisville Slugger TPS Xeno: FP13X Fastpitch. It will be a -10.
Brandon
Is this a good bad to use if you are having trouble hitting, but are still making contact? kweaver
Yes, the Easton Synge: FP11SG Fastpitch is going to be a balanced bat, which is great for any contact hitter.
Noah
Is this a good performance bat for ASA softball? Bdog
The Easton Synge: FP11SG Fastpitch is an excellent choice for ASA softball. It has great pop and is durable.
Kara
Does this bat have a lot of vibration when hitting? bigo357
No, we have not heard any issues with vibrations or stinging of the hands with the Easton Synge.
John
At a height of 5' 4" and a contact hitter, is 33" going to be too long? My daughter normally swings a 32" aluminum. Any other suggestion under $100? MJS
The best way to determine the correct bat size is by the players height and weight, but a 33" model will work just fine. The Easton Synge: FP11SG Fastpitch is a terrific model for a contact hitter with its balanced swing weight.
Jason
Would the Synge still work for my daughter in the 32" vs. 31"? Softball Mom
The Easton Synge (FP11SG) is typically used by younger players. However, the best size for her is determined by her height and weight. Check our our bat coach for correct sizing: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
