That is true. Beginning 1/1/2012, all bats used in High School play throughout the nation must be BBCOR certified. This specific bat will be legal for the remainder of 2011.

According to the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA), the Surge is indeed legal for 2011. It has an alloy barrel and is BESR certified, and according to the info on PIAA's website it should be legal. It sounds like the umpires may have been confused, but I would check with your coach or athletic director for further clarification.

This bat comes with a 12 month manufacturers warranty. If it happens to dent or break within the year of your purchase, you can return it to the manufacturer and they will be able to replace it for you.
