Description

New for There's a good chance that if you're only exposure to bats is through slow pitch softball, you may not have heard about the HOTTEST new series of bats sweeping through the ranks of baseball. The Easton POWER BRIGADE was created with one thing in mind: Increasing a player's POWER! Easton understands that power is not achieved the same way for every player. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into the Speed Series and XL Series. Speed Series bats feature an evenly balanced swing weight for players that aren't quite as strong. This allows them to maximize their swing speed and, consequently, produce more power with each swing. The XL Series on the other hand, features a slightly end-loaded swing weight so that stronger players can get more mass and momentum behind each swing... lso resulting in more power. The S2 features a one-piece Single System Composite Design for increased bat control. The 13.5" barrel on the S2 is constructed from Easton's IMX Composite that optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance. Isn't it time you started MAXIMIZING YOUR POWER? Easton: Personalize Your Power! The S2 features the new ASA stamp and is approved for play in ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF. It is backed by a Full Six (6) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Pros: Shipping was fast, and the bat felt great right out of the wrapper. First hit I put the ball to the fence.

Cons: There was a crack in the paint around the handle when I got it. First time the bat hit the dirt the paint chipped off. Not a big deal, but stinks to have a brand new bat with the paints already chipped.

Pros: Love this bat, have always swung Easton and sad to let my old Synergy go at the end of last season. This bat has been great out of the package and can't wait for outdoor bp and see what this bat will do. I love the feel of this bat as well. If it is as good as my last Synergy I will be thrilled. So far so good.

Cons: None.

Pros: First ASA bat I've purchased and very pleased with how "HOT" it was right out of the wrapper. I love the Diamond Grip and how balanced the weight is. Also not to mention was hitting bombs the first game. The Power Brigade is sweet, the ball pops off the barrel.

Cons: 6 month warranty, and I don't really like the cap on this years Easton's.

Pros: The bat looks great.

Cons: Looks can be deceiving. I bought this bat just six months ago and the end cap busted off during a friendly intramural softball game. This bat is garbage and I will not be purchasing another Easton bat again.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton S2 Slow Pitch Softball Bat: SP13S2? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

How does this bat compare to 2013 Easton Comp 98 Salvo ASA bat? I am looking for a new bat and I love the Comp 98, but to see if this is just the same or better than this bat. I look forward to hearing from you Josh
The 2013 Easton S2: SP13S2 is a one-piece full composite bat with a 13.5" barrel and balanced swing weight. The 2013 Easton Salvo Comp 98: SP12SV98 is also a one-piece composite bat but has a 12" barrel and a slightly endloaded feel.
Tyler
I see that Easton is no longer making the Synergy 98. Does this bat essentially take it's place? Is the construction and composites the same? whatsgoinon
Yes. The 2013 Easton S2: SP13S2 Slow Pitch bat replaces the Synergy. They both are one-piece full composite designs. The new S2 will feel just a little more evenly balanced than the Synergy.
Tyler
Will there be a USSSA version of this bat released soon? BALL DEEP
The 2013 Easton S2: SP13S2 Slow Pitch bat is approved for Play in ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF. Again, this bat is legal for USSSA.
Brandon
What is the MPH rating on this bat? I am playing in a church league and their requirements are 98 MPH. Bryan
The 2013 Easton S2: SP13S2 is an ASA bat that meets the MPH requirements for your league.
Tyler
If this bat does not meet the requirements of my league of 98MPH or below what is the time frame in which i can return it? Bryan
As long as a bat remains in new and unused condition, it can be returned within any timeframe for a full refund or exchange.
John
Is this bat legal in modified softball play. my league follows asa rules but with the new sticker its some what confusing. because the rule reads for slowpitch only but unsure if modified players buy that set of rules as well? braden
The 2013 Easton S2: SP13S2 has the new ASA stamp and it sounds like it will be legal in your league. However, there are many different sets of modified softball rules, and I advise you seek counsel from a league administrator.
Tyler
I'm looking for the Easton bat the replaced the Stealth. I have used a Stealth for the last three years and I love that bat. Would someone please be so kind to post the new model number for the replacement? Thanks. Mike
We have three models that replaced the Stealth. The 2013 Easton S1: SP13S1 Slow Pitch is ASA approved and balanced. The 2014 Easton L1.0: SP13L1 is USSSA approved and is end loaded. The 2014 Easton B1.0: SP13B1 Slow Pitch is USSSA approved and has a balanced swing weight.
Kara
Can you get this bat in the XL series? Ed
The XL Version of the 2013 Easton S2: SP13S2 Slow Pitch is the 2013 Easton XL2: SP13X2 Slow Pitch.
Marcus
What is the lowest temperature that I should stop using this bat? samm
We recommend that you do not use a composite bat, like the 2013 Easton S2, below 55 degrees Fahrenheit. The ball becomes more dense and can damage the bat.
Justin R.
Will this bat perform with the 'old' 'harder' balls? Our league hasn't switched to the new compression standards. If not, does Easton still make a bat that is designed for the older balls? stx
The 2013 Easton S2: SP13S2 Slow Pitch will hit the harder balls great but could damage easier down the line. I would try using a bat with an older stamp, the older bats will hit the balls great and be more durable.
Brandon
Some friends and I are playing in some summer festival tournaments that do not allow multi-wall bats. Is this bat single or multi-wall? Tony
The 2013 Easton S2: SP13S2 Slow Pitch will be a multi-wall bat.
Noah
I'm not really a beginner, but someone who is starting to take slowpitch more seriously. And I play regularly. I am a bigger guy with some pop, but typically hit for contact. Would the Easton S1, S2, or XL2 be a better bat for me? Garret
The 2013 Easton S2: SP13S2 Slow Pitch and S1 Slow Pitch models both have balanced swing weights. Contact hitters would benefit more from the increased bat speed from these models. The XL2 has a slightly end loaded feel that a power hitter would better-utilize. Contact hitters would also benefit from the two-piece design of the S1, but the one-piece S2 is a good option, also.
Mac
Looking for a bat that replaced the Easton SRV4 bat. Can anyone help? brian
The 2014 Easton L4.0 Brett Helmer Pro Model: SP13L4 Slow Pitch will be the most similar to the Easton Synergy SRV4. It is a one-piece composite bat that is slightly end loaded. The 2013 Easton S2: SP13S2 Slow Pitch is a one-piece composite bat that is balanced.
Kara
Is it 98 mph or 100+ mph? Thank you. Black_Walrus
The 2013 Easton S2: SP13S2 Slow Pitch is more than 100 mph.
Kara
Why did this bat get discontinued? Dave
The 2013 Easton S2: SP13S2 Slow Pitch was discontinued because Easton started producing the 2014 model and stopped producing the 2013 model. This happens every year when the manufacturer starts producing the newer model.
John H
Is there any left on the market or places I could pick one up? NIco
We were unable to locate any 2013 Easton S2 (SP13S2) bats. The 2014 Easton B4.0 (SP14B4) is similar to the Easton S2.
Kara
I just bought the bat in May, but now it rattles. What does that mean? gmen
There is a chance that some of the composite material in the barrel of your Easton S2 Slow Pitch Softball Bat (SP13S2) has become loosened, which is the source of the rattle. It actually will not affect the performance of the bat. If there is a significant drop off in the performance of the bat, there is a chance that your bat has become damaged or defective. It is still within the 12 month manufacturer warranty through Easton, since it was only purchased in May, so you can actually return it back to Easton for your warranty replacement.
Tessa
I have an Easton S2 Slow Pitch Softball Bat: SP13S2 and want to know the exact 2014 or 2015 model that replaces this great bat. I would also like to know if you have any information on where an unused or in the rapper 2013 bats are available. Thanks, Bill. Bill
The Easton S2 Slow Pitch Softball Bat: SP13S2 is going to be replaced by the 2015 Easton Salvo Balanced ASA/USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: SP15SVAU. Both of these bats are going to be one-piece, composite design that features a balanced swing weight. Here at Just Bats, we do offer a few 2013 models but they are very limited in size and length. If you do not see a particular bat on our website, I would recommend taking a look at either Amazon or Ebay as they usually carry some of the older models in their inventory.
John
Are there any 30 oz versions of this bat available? If so where could I get one? If not what is Easton's closest bat that is available? Thanks, Bill. Bill McKean
Unfortunately there are no more models of this bat available since it is a much older model. I am not sure you would be able to purchase a new model anymore, but you could try Ebay or Craigslist, or a similar used item site. Easton does not appear to make a one-piece, composite slowpitch bat anymore, so the closest models would be their FireFlex models or the Ghost 2 Double Barrel here: https://www.justbats.com/products/?s=easton+slowpitch
