Description

The next generation of Power Brigade has arrived. Now in its third season, this groundbreaking line of bats is unlike anything else on the field today. The concept is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series (XL1, XL2, and XL3) and the Speed Series (S1, S2, S3, and S4). The XL Series is designed for bigger, stronger hitters who derive their power from a bat with more mass. Smaller length to weight ratios, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot and a slight end load characterize the XL Series. The Speed Series, on the other hand, helps players increase their swing speed in order to generate more power. These bats feature lighter length to weight ratios, a lower M.O.I., and a balanced feel. Further trying to equip players with their perfect bat, Easton offers all of its Power Brigade bats in a two-piece IMX Composite/SIC Black Carbon design (XL1, S1), a two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Scandium Alloy hybrid design (XL2, S2), and a one-piece THT Scandium Alloy design (XL3, S3, S4). Two of the highest performing materials ever used on a bat, Easton's patented IMX Composite optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance, while their THT Scandium Alloy provides solid durability and allows for a larger alloy sweet spot than is seen anywhere else on the field. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology, and you've got a line of bats that can't be topped. Easton: Personalize Your Power! The S2 is BBCOR Certified and approved for high school and collegiate play. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

great bat and great service mike player

Pros: I bought last years model bat and it began separating at the connection piece, we called easton and they sent me this years model. Great bat, this is the first problem i've ever had with an easton bat and they took care of it not including the fact its awesome and the weight helps you destroy the ball

Cons: the sound of the bat on the ground isn't too pleasant

Not Durable EV3 player

Pros: Good pop out of wrapper. Well balanced. Great grip and cool design.

Cons: Sweet spot is way too small. You have to perfectly square it up to hit it hard. Does not hit well on mis hits. Went dead after 2 months. If you are looking for a long term bat do NOT get this one.

decent bat but not worth the money Bryce player

Pros: very balanced swing. very quick through the zone no vibration even if you dont barrel up the ball quite right. grip is very comfortable and lasts pretty long. the general feel is outstanding its one of the best bats in that category.

Cons: pop is not good and the very little pop it does have does not last long at all the bat died within 3 months which cant make it through a season especially for high school where you hit everyday in the cage. So overall this bat is decent but for the money it is not worth it. there are more bats for the same price that are much better.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton S2 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB14S2? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

How does this bat compare with the original S2 with the silver handle? ed
This 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB14S2 Adult and the 2013 model feature the upgraded SIC Black Carbon Composite material in their handles. This composite offers a stiffer flex than the 2012 Easton S2 and transfers energy more efficiently to the ball on contact. This bat will have the same BBCOR performance certification.
Mac
What makes this bat have more of a ping sound compared to the other Easton speed bats? And when do the 2014 BBCOR XL series come out for sale? Ball boy player 16
The 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB14S2 Adult uses the same alloy as the 2014 Easton S3 and the 2013 Easton S2 and Easton S3. The 2014 Easton XL BBCOR bats are scheduled to be released on September 1st.

The 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB14S2 Adult can be used in Pony League.
Kara
What would be better a DeMarini Voodoo 2014 or the new Easton S2? I'm a small power hitter that wants the lightest bat and one that I can use for a couple of years. dylan
The 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB14S2 Adult is a very balanced bat. The DeMarini Voodoo is end loaded and better suited for a power hitter.
Kara
What is the difference in the S2 and S3? Which is better for more of a contact hitter? Chad
Both the Easton S2 and S3 BBCOR models are well balanced for a power hitter. The 2014 Easton S2 is a two-piece a composite handle and alloy barrel, so it will have more flex and less vibration than the 2014 Easton S3 which is a one piece alloy.
Damon
Is the S2 (BBCOR)composite handle lighter than the S3 (BBCOR)alloy handle? If so, does that make the S2 more end loaded than the S3? batman33
The composite handle in the 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB14S2 Adult is lighter than alloy material. A two-piece bat with an alloy barrel, will tend to feel heavier than a one-piece bat.
Kara
What's the difference between the 2014 Easton S2 and the 2013 Easton S2? ben basebal
Both the 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR and the 2013 Easton S2 BBCOR have the THT100 Scandium Alloy Barrel and the SIC Black Carbon Composite handle. Both models will also have a balanced swing weight.
Jason
Is the material better on the S2 or S1? Also which bat is more balanced and which one feels lighter? Yanks
The 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB14S2 Adult bat features an alloy barrel and a composite handle. The Easton S1 features a composite barrel and composite handle and would the top of the line model. Both feature a very light and balanced swing weight.
Aubrey
What has the bigger sweet spot this or the 2014 Voodoo? Dylan
Both the 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR and the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR have similar designs and feature large sweet spots. DeMarini does have a thickness-tuned barrel that distinguishes it from this Easton S2.
Justin R.
Will the 2014 S2 or S3 have the lighter swing weight? How does the swing weight of the Easton bats compare to the 2014 Vexxum? Burnsie
The Easton S2 and S3 will have the same swing weight. The DeMarini Vexxum is going to have a very comparable swing weight to the Easton S series.
Tori
I'm 5'2" and 95 lbs. I need a BBCOR that can last that is within $300. Which line of bats will have a balanced swing weight? CBA 19
The 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB14S2 Adult bat would be a great choice for a balanced BBCOR bat. Easton will have an entire S-Series you can check out. Also, they will provide the Easton MAKO. All will be very balanced and light weight.
Brandon
Does the Easton 2014 S2 have a similar sound to the 2013 Easton S2? Sumner
The 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR (BB14S2) was produced with the same alloy as the 2013 S2 which will give it a similar sound.
Tori
I'm a 5'8" 190 lb. contact hitter. I can hit for power but it's mostly line drives. I can't decide if I want the MAKO or S2. I like alloy but I hear composite is better. Grant
Yes, the 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB14S2 Adult bat would be a great choice for an alloy barrel model with a very balanced swing weight. The MAKO and its composite design will hold its performance for a longer period of time.
Brandon
I am 5' 6" and 120 lbs. Would you say the S2 would be a good choice, or would a different Speed Series bat fit me better? goft
If you like a balanced bat, any of the Speed Series models would be a good fit. The biggest differences between them are the materials they're made from and whether they are a one-piece or two-piece design. The two-piece design of this 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR (BB14S2) Adult bat provides additional trampoline effect for a contact hitter and helps eliminate vibration. It's a solid choice that is hot right out of the wrapper. Based on your height and weight, the 31" model is the recommended length.
Mac
I am 5 foot 10 and weight 130 pounds, what size S2 should I get? DYL
Based on your height and weight, we would suggest the 31 inch 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR: (BB14S2) Adult bat.
Patrick
What is the difference between the S1 and S2? johnny baseball
The biggest difference between the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR (BB14S1) and 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR (BB14S2) is going to be the way that it is constructed. The 2014 Easton S1 will be a two-piece full composite design, and the 2014 Easton S2 will be a hybrid design incorporating a composite handle and alloy barrel.
Merritt
Which bat is the best, the Easton S1 or S2? DMJ
Both the 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR (BB14S2 Adult) and the Easton S1 BBCOR Adult would be exceptional choices! They will both be very balanced and have a light weight feel. The S1 is a two-piece fully composite design. The S2 is a two-piece hybrid bat. It will have a composite handle and an alloy barrel. Both will provide great durability and great pop!
Brandon
Is this a big barrel? And is good for use in high school? Michigan24
The barrel size on the 2014 Easton S2 (BB14S2) is 2 5/8". It is not a 2 3/4" barrel if your looking for a big barrel. It would be certified for high school use and I would recommend this bat for anyone in high school.
Zach
I'm 13 5'4" 120 lbs. I play spring ball in northwest Ohio should I get the S1,S2 or S3 because of cold weather? riley 46
A composite or an alloy bat can be damaged in colder temperatures. The all becomes harder and can crack or dent the bat. However, an alloy barrel bat such as the 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR ( BB14S2) would hold up better than a composite.
Kara
How does this bat compare to the RIP-IT AIR Elite? crime fighter
Both the 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR (BB14S2) and the 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite are two-piece hybrid designs that feature a composite handle and alloy barrel. They each have a balanced swing weight that encourages both speed and power.
Gary T.
Is this bat good in hot weather like in Arizona? tuhs
Yes, the 2014 Easton S2 (BB14S2) will perform very well in hot temperatures.
Bobby
How does the pop of the S2 compare to other bats? Also, how does the vibration compare as well? b
2014 Easton S2 BBCOR: (BB14S2) will be top of the line in comparison to other models when it comes to creating pop, and providing limited vibration. The 2014 Easton S2 (BB14S2) will be a two-piece hybrid design, and will incorporate a composite handle and alloy barrel. The alloy barrel is made of THT100 Scandium Alloy and will provide explosive pop. The SIC Black Carbon composite handle will help relieve and eliminate vibrations. This model is extremely high quality, and is currently top of the line in performance and materials.
Merritt
Is this bat top heavy or is it balanced? Grant
The 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR (BB14S2) is a balanced bat.
Kara
Would this be a good bat for me? I hit lead off but I can hit for power when needed. What is the length of the barrel? buo
The 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR (BB14S2) is a great model for a contact hitter who can also hit for power. It is balanced but features a hot out of the wrapper alloy barrel. The size of the barrel can vary based on where you start the measurement (whether at the end cap or the start of the sweet spot) and where you finish it (where on the taper you consider the barrel to end). The S2 does have an elongated barrel compared to other BBCOR hybrid models.
Patrick
Which bat in the Easton Speed Series has the most pop? james
The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR: (BB14S3) will have the most pop out of the wrapper because it is constructed with THT100 Scandium Alloy. Composite material generally takes a little while to break in, however, it will get hotter throughout its lifespan. If you are looking for a bat that will be high performing in the very beginning, the 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR: (BB14S3) will provide the most pop.
Merritt
Is this bat more balanced than the S3? Which one has the stiffer handle? Matt34
The 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR (BB14S2) and S3 will offer very comparable swing weights. One really isn't proven to be more balanced than the other. But the S3 would offer a stiffer flex with its one-piece design, even though the S2's composite handle offers a stiffer flex than other two-piece bats.
Mac
I'm 5'5", weigh 160 lbs and play high school ball. What size S2 would you recommend? Alex
I'd recommend a 32" 2014 Easton S2 (BB14S2) based on your height and weight.
John H
Does this bat have a different feel, sound, and pop compared to other two-piece all-composite bats? BaseBaller31
The sound will absolutely be different from a fully composite model, but the 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR (BB14S2) and other hybrid models will offer performance that is very comparable to a fully composite design.
Mac
Is there a lot of vibration? Big Stick
Typically you'll find more vibration in one-piece designs. The 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR (BB14S2) is a two-piece hybrid design. The SIC Black Carbon composite handle is designed to reduce sting and vibration.
John H
im 4'8" and 120 lbs what size do u recommend? #1
Based on your height and weight, I would advise purchasing the 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR (BB14S2) in the 31" 28 oz. size.
Sean
Does this bat need to be broken in? Donnie
The 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR (BB14S2) has an alloy barrel, it will be hot right out of the wrapper and does not require a break-in.
Sean
Is this bat legal for use in Babe Ruth league? FutureShow
The 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S2) is legal for play in Babe Ruth League 13-15 year old division and 16-18 year old divisions. It is legal because it has a 2 5/8" barrel and is BBCOR certified.
Jason
Which one would feel more stiff, this one, or the 2013 one? nick
The 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S2) will feel a lot like the 2013 model. The two-piece half and half design will feel very balanced and have great pop.
Brandon
I'm 5'4" and 110 pounds. What size and weight do you recommended? 38
Using the information you provided, our bat feature on our website suggests using a 30" 27 oz. bat. Unfortunately, we are sold out of that size for Easton S2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S2) and will not be getting any more in stock.
Liz
How will this bat perform differently then the S1? Which one has a bigger barrel? Da Stopper
The Easton S2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S2) will be hot out of the wrapper and will not require a break-in. It will also have more of a ping sound rather than a thud or a crack like what the 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) would. The S1 will need a bit of time to reach its peak but should last a bit longer at that peak level. The barrel sizes on the two bats will be very similar.
Patrick
What is the difference between the Easton S2 and Easton MAKO 2014? isaac
The 2014 Easton MAKO is fully composite. It also has an extended barrel length. The Easton S2 will be a half and half design. It has a composite handle and an alloy barrel. It has a normal barrel length. Both bats are very balanced and will not feel barrel heavy or end loaded at all.
Brandon
My daughter is 13 years old, weighs 135 pounds and is 5 foot 4 inches, and looking for a 33 inch bat. What bat would you recommend? arnie
The Easton S2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S2) is going to be for males high school and college play. I would recommend looking at 2015 Louisville Slugger XENO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FPXN150) and the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Fastpitch Softball Bat (DXCFS). Both of these bats are popular among Fast pitch Softball.
Frankie
Is this bat no longer available (discontinued)? If so, can you recommend the closest alternative? Beaks
The Easton S2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S2) is the 2014 model of the bat and was discontinued when the newer 2015 model came out. The 2015 Easton S2Z ZCORE BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S2Z) would be the closest model we currently have.
Patrick
Is this bat approved for 14U? Casey
The Easton S2 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB14S2 will be legal for High School and USSSA.
