Description

The next generation of Power Brigade has arrived. Now in its second season, this groundbreaking line of bats is unlike anything else on the field today. The concept is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series (XL1, XL2, and XL3) and the Speed Series (S1, S2, S3, and S4). The XL Series is designed for bigger, stronger hitters who derive their power from a bat with more mass. Smaller length to weight ratios, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot and a slight end load characterize the XL Series. The Speed Series, on the other hand, helps players increase their swing speed in order to generate more power. These bats feature lighter length to weight ratios, a lower M.O.I., and a balanced feel. Further trying to equip players with their perfect bat, Easton offers all of its Power Brigade bats in a two-piece IMX Composite/SIC Black Carbon design (XL1, S1), a two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Scandium Alloy hybrid design (XL2, S2), and a one-piece THT Scandium Alloy design (XL3, S3, S4). Two of the highest performing materials ever used on a bat, Easton's patented IMX Composite optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance, while their THT Scandium Alloy provides solid durability and allows for a larger alloy sweet spot than is seen anywhere else on the field. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology, and you've got a line of bats that can't be topped. Easton: Personalize Your Power! The S2 is BBCOR Certified and approved for high school and collegiate play. It is backed by Easton's Exclusive 400 Day Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: This bat is really great. When you swing with it and make contact the ball will fly. Really balanced and feels great in your hands, and i recommend if you have a Easton bat from last year, and the bat has a little rattling and the rubber piece comes off send it in to Easton. Thats what I did, i had a 2012 Easton rival and surge and it was still under the 1 year warranty so i sent them in. In return i received 2 Brand new bats the 2013 Easton s2 and s3. So take this into consideration and once again this bat is great.

Cons: If you take continuous reps, you will get Calluses with or without b-gloves.

Pros: I just hit with my friend's S2, it hit great! Good pop, great for hitting line drives.

Cons: Smaller sweet spot than some bats. This bat stings like most bats if you hit it off the end of the barrel.

Pros: NONE

Cons: I started out with the Easton Surge. The bat was too top heavy and broke in about 4 weeks with the Connection peice. So Easton gave me a 2012 S2 since they didn't make the Surge anymore. Within about 5 weeks it broke in the Connection peice again. Then they sent me another 2012 S2. It's cap was coming off in about 5 weeks. Then I finally got the 2013 Easton S2. Within 3 weeks the barrel was shaking back and forth, another problem with the Connection peice. Never another Easton bat until the Connection peice is fixed.

Pros: I hate spending a lot of money on bats - this is the first time I have bought one of my sons a bat of this $$$. With that said, my son has been on a tear since he got this bat. He absolutely loves it because it is well balanced and has a lot of pop. When he is hitting well, he is a line drive/ground ball hitter. This bat has really helped power the ball through the infield. The yellow on the handle is his guide for choking up on the bat since it is drop 3 and he is a 95 pound 7th grader.

Cons: none at this point.

Pros: hits pretty well

Cons: I ordered the 2013 Easton s2 and it broke within 2 weeks in the connection piece so they sent me a new s2 and it broke within 3 weeks and they broke in the exact same spot both times

Pros: Weight and balance was as advertised. Really has some pop for a BBCOR.

Cons: The "break-in time" for this bat took nearly 200 good hits in the cage before it became "game usable".

Pros: Great pop out of wrapper

Cons: I've had this bat for close to a month, and already it's starting to chip on the inside, and the barrel is coming loose. Before this I've had 2 S2's (2012) and both have had problems with chipping on the inside, and around the connection piece. Definately not getting a new one, as I'm on my 2nd broken one this season. Neither of them lasted over 2 months. I suggest buying Marucci, because they're one piece with a heck of a lot more pop than an Easton.

Pros: Great pop and overall feel. Hit it on the sweet spot and you'll drive it to the gap every time. No sting on miss hits and I'm really loving the two piece feel.

Dont listen to other reviews this bat is great D-bat Player player

Pros: Dont listen to any other reviews! I bought this bat and had it for about 8 months.(Im a power hitter and hit in the cages a lot) If people have broken the conection piece they dont know how to swing :) This bat is great and has loads of pop. Mine started having the barrel loose so its illegal in games now but the loose barrel gives it even more pop because of the trampalene affect a bat has. It also has a larger sweet spot than bats ive had in the past.

Cons: I only had it for 8 months. If fixed would be a 10 Star

Great Bat!! Attilo Cushing player

Pros: Great Grip love the pop. It's not like some of the pop on little league bats, but it's one of the best you will get in bbcor, just my opinion. Its very balanced and the two pice feel is soo cool! It does eliminate a ton of vibration. Of course there is always the random little vibration here and there, but again, its minimal and nothing to worry about. I havent had it that long (only about a month) and I've only used it in bp, however Im sure the durability is great. No problems yet. Oh, I didn't give durability 5 stars cause something could happen in the future, but since I was pretty sure nothing would i gave it 4.

Cons: I cannot think of any negative things about this bat. It is definitely worth the price and I highly recommend you get it.

Pros: Was a good bat when I had. Got a game winning double over the center fielder's head with it, so it has pop. Good balance and control.

Overall, Good bat but.... Alex player

Pros: The 2014 s2 is definately a good bat and gets decent pop. However, when comparing it with my 2013 Easton s1 I prefer the s1 over this s2. The 2013 s1 just feels more balanced and has a more equal weight distribution. When I swing the 2014 s2 and then switch to the 2013 s1, it feels considerably lighter (more bat speed) and I feel like I hit better with the s1. Overall, the s2 is still a great bat (one of the best out there by far) but as a speed/contact hitter I 100% recommend the older version of the s1.

Cons: Not equally balanced, slower bat speed.

Both are great models and will have similar pop. The 2013 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB13S2 Adult bat will be a two-piece model with a composite handle and alloy barrel. It will be very balanced and easy to swing. The 2013 Easton XL2 will be created the same. It will be a two-piece bat with a composite handle and alloy barrel. The difference is that the XL2 will have a slight end load to it. It will have a slight barrel heaviness that power hitters tend to love. It will not be as balanced as the S2.
Brandon

How does this bat compare to the Marucci Black 2 overall? johnny
The 2013 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB13S2 Adult is a two-piece hybrid bat just like the Marucci Black 2. Both will provide a composite handle with an alloy barrel. The Black 2 will dampen more vibration that can reach the hitter's hands. Also, both bats will be very balanced.

The Easton S1 is a two-piece composite bat and the Easton S2 is a two-piece bat with a composite barrel and has a alloy barrel.

Which Easton bat best compares to the old Easton SV12 Ninety-Five BESR bat? Boone
The 2013 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB13S2 Adult is going to be the closest to the Easton SV12 Ninety-Five BESR bat. The handle will not be quite as stiff, but the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo will offer a much stiffer handle, offering closer to the same feel.

No, the 2013 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB13S2 Adult uses a new SIC Carbon Fiber handle that reduces a lot of the vibration.
Noah
Is there a difference between this year's S2 and last year's S2? Ridley renegade
The composite material in the handle of each model will be different. The 2013 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB13S2 Adult bat features the upgraded SIC Black Carbon composite in the handle which gives the bat a stiffer flex.
Mac
Is this an end loaded bat? And would this work for a 5 foot 105 lb 13 yr old contact hitter? Talon
The 2013 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB13S2 Adult is a balanced bat. It would be a great choice for a contact hitter.
Kara
I'm a bigger guy with fast hands. I've hit the Easton XL series and it just didn't fit for me, but I have always loved Easton bats. Would swinging the S series change my swing at all? wrangler10
If you have fast hands with the Easton XL series going with the S series might make you really get ahead of the ball a lot, but you won't know until you try.
Noah
If I send in my Easton Surge for warranty is this the bat I will receive in return? Logy
Easton will replace the Easton Surge with the Easton S2 for all warranty replacements.
Noah

The Easton S2 BBCOR and the DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR will both be very balanced two-piece bats. They will perform the exact same, so it will come down to your personal preference.
Noah
What's the difference between Scandium alloy and X10 alloy barrels. JD
The 2013 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB13S2 Adult bat will feature Easton's Scandium Alloy. The difference between the different types of alloy can vary from manufacturer and even in price points. Typically, the higher priced the bat is, the better the materials are on the alloy and composite.
Brandon
When the ball comes off the bat should it have a solid sound or a pinging sound? My son's has a pinging sound and it just doesn't sound right. Rick
When the ball comes off of the 2013 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB13S2 Adult it should make a "ping" sound. If you click the play icon next to the picture it will play the sound of the bat.
Noah
Can you use this bat under 55 degrees? BIGGS214
We do not recommend using any non-wood bat, including the 2013 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB13S2 Adult, in temperatures below 60°F (16°C). In those temperatures, the ball becomes much more dense and could damage or shorten the useful life of your bat.
Mac
how does this bat compare to the 2012 S1 in pop? chief
The 2013 Easton S1 and 2013 Easton S2 BBCOR will be identical in performance. The S1 will stay at its peak performance longer though, because of the composite material in the barrel.
Noah
Which bat will feel lightest? The 2013 Easton S2 or the new 2014 DeMarini Vexxum? leadoff
The 2013 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB13S2 Adult and the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum are both very balanced bats. They will feel similar in weight.
Kara
I'm going into 8th grade and I'm gonna play high school baseball. I have always been a power hitter but I have always swung the lightest bat possible and I'm afraid my swing speed will go way down and I still want the lightest bat possible. Should I get this bat? shockerz#7
The 2013 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB13S2 Adult is a very balanced, lightweight bat. It would be a great choice for you.
Kara
Will this bat feel the same as the 2014 Demarini Vexxum NVS, or will it be a little heavier? zaynebaseball15
Both the 2013 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB13S2 Adult bat and the DeMarini Vexxum NVS feature very balanced and light swing weights.
Aubrey
My son swings a Marucci CAT 5 -3 and hits the gaps a lot. He likes it and doesn't know if he would like a two piece bat. What would you recommend? TT
The 2013 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB13S2 Adult would be an excellent choice for a two-piece bat. It is very balanced like the Marucci CAT 5 and has great pop.
Kara
I'm 5' 5", 100 pounds, and in the Pony League. I'm getting my first big barrel bat, which one do you recommend? C.J.
The 2013 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB13S2 Adult would be a great bat for you. The two-piece design is great for a contact hitter, because it can really help you increase your bat speed.
Noah
Is this bat approved for ASA leagues with the new standards this year? BK
The Easton S2 is BBCOR approved so it is legal for play in High School and NCAA baseball. The S2 is not approved for ASA.
John
Would you recommend this bat or the DeMarini Vexxum NVS for a contact hitter with good bat speed? Baller
The 2013 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB13S2 Adult and the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR: DXVXC are both designed for a contact hitter. The two-piece, balanced designed are suited for a contact hitter. The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult is an end loaded, two-piece bat and best for a contact hitter with good bat speed.
Kara
My son is 14yr old, 5'8" 115lbs. He is more of a contact hitter. Would this be a good bat and what size should he get? Thanks ESC
Yes, the Easton S2 would be ideal for a contact hitter. The balanced two-piece design is preferred for contact hitters. Our charts would suggest a 30"-31".
John
How much of a difference is there between the S2 and the S3? SR
The Easton S2 and S3 are both going to have the same swing weight. However, the S2 will offer more flex because it is a two-piece bat.
Tori
Is the sweet spot smaller than other bats like a DeMarini Vexxum? gabe09
The 2013 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB13S2 Adult has a sweet spot that is very comparable to a DeMarini Vexxum. The barrel length of both is of average length which helps give each bat a balanced swing weight.
Mac
How big is the sweet spot? 1&only
The 2013 Easton S2 BBCOR has an average barrel length and sweet spot. It will be smaller than both the Easton MAKO and the Easton XL models.
John H
How does this compare to the S1 in performance? Nicky
The 2013 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB13S2 Adult and 2013 Easton S1 BBCOR: BB13S1 Adult will both push the BBCOR performance regulations. The 2013 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB13S2 Adult will not require a break-in, as the alloy barrel is hot right out of the wrapper. The 2013 Easton S1 BBCOR: BB13S1 Adult will be stiff out of the wrapper, due to the composite barrel, and will increase in performance for awhile as it's going through the break-in period.
Katie
What is the difference between the s1 and s2 besides the composite and alloy barrel? Mitch
The primary difference between these two bats is going to be the construction of using different materials in the barrel. Both the Easton S2 BBCOR and Easton S3 BBCOR will be balanced and easy to generate good bat speed. However, the construction will ultimately be the only difference between these two models.
Merritt
I assume that you have no plans to restock this bat in any other sizes. I'm 5'9" and 140 pounds. Would you recommend a 32" bat or a 33" bat? Donovan
We will not be getting any more of the Easton S2 BBCOR (BB13S2) Adult. At that size we would suggest you use a 32" bat.
Aaron
Does the S2 have a break-in? Or will its performance improve over time like any other bat? brody29
Since the Easton S2 BBCOR (BB13S2) has an alloy barrel, it will not require a break-in period. The model will be a hybrid design. Therefore, it will incorporate an alloy barrel and a composite handle.
Merritt
I am 13 years old and I am 5 foot 11 and weigh 132 pounds. I am a power hitter. I want the S2 but would that be a good bat for me? _chainbaseball_4
The Easton S2 BBCOR (BB13S2) is a great option and we would recommend the 32 inch size for a player of your height and weight.
Patrick
I'm 16 years old, 148 lbs. and 5' 10". Can I swing the 34" 31 oz.? branster98
The 32" 29 oz. or the 33" 30 oz. sizes would work much better at your size than the 34" Easton S2 BBCOR (BB13S2).

Will there be any 32 inch 29 ounce S2's coming back in stock soon? Aidan
The Easton S2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB13S2) is actually the 2013 model and production for that specific model has been discontinued so we will not be getting any more in. Easton is actually about to release the 2015 line in September.

My son is going into the 8th grade and we are looking for a new bat for him. He is 5'10" and weighs 160 lbs. What bat would be good for him? Apy
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 33" bat. The Easton S2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB13S2) is an excellent option for a player his size. However, the 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S2) is another option to consider.

I'm 5'4" and 137 lbs. What size would you recommend? Nick
Using our bat coach, I would suggest using a 31" Easton S2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB13S2).

I'm 13 and use a 33 in 30 oz -3 Easton S200 BBCOR. Should I buy the Easton S2? I've swung it before but only practice swings from my friend. Kareese
The Easton S2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB13S2) is two-piece hybrid bat featuring the THT100 Scandium Alloy Barrel as well as an SIC Black Carbon Composite handle. The 2014 Easton S200 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S200) is a one-piece alloy bat. You will probably have quite a bit more bat speed with the S2 as the two-piece model will allow for additional flex through the zone. If you wanted to stay with the stiffer feel of the S200, I would recommend taking a look at the Easton S3 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB13S3), which will be a one-piece full alloy bat.

I bought this bat and it is amazing. But,I want a new bat but i cant afford it. With the 1 year warranty, can i send this bat back and get a new one? VbloodshotV
The 1 year manufacturers warranty covers any type of defect. If there is no defect the bat will not be replaced by Easton. Easton's warranty line is 1-888-259-1297.
