Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15S110? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Has the 2015 Easton S3 came out yet? lefty hitter
Yes. The 2015 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310) and 2015 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B) are both available for sale currently.
Patrick
How does this compare to the 2014 MAKO? Adam
Both the 2015 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S110) and the Easton MAKO feature a two-piece, fully composite design. They also have a balanced swing weight as well. The main differences between the two is that the MAKO features Easton's TCT composite material in the barrel (whereas the S1 feature the IMX Composite). The MAKO also features an extended barrel design, so it will have a slightly larger sweet spot than the S1.
Tessa
Are there any functional differences between the 2014 and 2015 S1? Tony
The differences between the 2015 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S110) and the 2014 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14S110) are mostly cosmetic in nature. The performance and the materials used will be very similar.
Joe
Is the 2015 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S110) available in a -8? GrandDaddy
The 2015 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S110) is only available in a -10.
Liz
My son is 4' 4.5" tall and 55 pounds. Should we go with 28" 18 oz. or 29" 19 oz. model? baseball mom
Using our Bat Coach, we recommend using the 29" 19 oz. model.
Tom
My son has a S3 29 inch, -10, with a 2 5/8 barrel, he wants to move up to a 30 inch. My question is, is the S1 a good move? Mike
The 2015 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S110) has the same design as the S3, the only difference is the S1 will be fully composite and will have a break in period, while the S3 is one piece alloy and will be ready to go as soon as you get it.
Frankie
What are the differences between the Easton S1 and S3 besides the barrel material? What is the normal break in period for a composite bat? Once broken in will it have more pop than an alloy? Paul
The obvious difference between the 2015 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S110) and the 2015 Easton S3 is going to be the barrel material, composite vs. alloy. The S1 is going to have the most balanced feel between the two. To properly break in your composite bat, we recommend taking 150-200 swings playing soft toss or off a tee using real baseballs. Begin swinging at 40% power and work our way up to full strength as you get closer to 200 swings. It"s also important to rotate the bat ¼' after each swing to ensure that you get complete barrel coverage. Never break in your bat in a cage that uses yellow dimpled balls. Yellow dimpled balls are very dense and can damage your bat and decrease its lifespan.
Jake
Does the Easton S1 Senior League Baseball bat SL15S110 need to have a break in period? Mike
Yes, the 2015 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S110) will have a break in period consisting of 150-200 swings rotating the barrel a quarter of an inch on each swing to break it in evenly.
Frankie
What is the true weight of the 28/18 S1? The Mako 28/18 is over 20 ounces. Clay
The 2015 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S110) will be the size you order. If you select the 28/18 size. It will weight 18 oz. If your MAKO was too heavy, it sounds it was a manufacturer defect.
Brandon
What is the different from the 2014 version? baseball_10
The main changes between the 2015 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S110) and the Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14S110) would be cosmetic in nature. The performance and feel should be very similar.
Patrick
I'm 5'4"and 114 lbs. Should I get a MAKO, S1 or XL1? What size do I need? homer
For a player of your size, our bat coach would recommend the 2015 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S110) in a 31" 21 oz. model. The S1 features a two piece full composite design with a balanced swing weight that is primarily intended for contact to gap hitters. The 2015 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15MK9) features a two piece full composite design with a balanced swing weight and a large sweet spot that is excellent for power hitters. The 2015 Easton XL1 Senior League -8 Baseball Bat (SL15X18) features a two piece full composite design with an end-loaded swing weight that is favored by power hitters. If you hit consistently for power, I would recommend the MAKO or the XL1 in a 31" model.
Joe
My son just turned 9 and he is 4'9" and 88 pounds. He bats left and throws right. His team is looking for him to be a big hitter. Which Easton bat would be the best for him between the S1, S3 or the MAKO? The barrel needs to be 2 5/8". Kristin
All of these bats are great balanced options. The 2015 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S110) and 2015 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310) don't have an extended barrel, while the 2015 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15MK10B) does. The extended barrel is going to give the MAKO a larger sweet spot than the S1 or S3.
Allison
What does end loaded mean? homer
End loaded means the weight distribution in the bat has more weight at the end of the barrel to help enforce more power behind the ball, an end loaded bat is designed for power hitters. The 2015 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S110) is going to be a balanced bat.
Frankie
Is this bat approved for Junior Little League play? Spanky
The 2015 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S110) is not approved for the Junior division of Little League. Any composite model will have to be BBCOR certified.
Joe
Is this bat approved for the Babe Ruth baseball league? Guy person
The 2015 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S110) is not approved for Babe Ruth. Here is a link to the bat rules for the Babe Ruth baseball league in case you are unsure of any other bats: http://www.baberuthleague.org/bat-rules.aspx
Jake
Is there a difference in performance for the Easton S1 and the Easton S3? batty
The 2015 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S110) is going to be at the same performance level as the Easton S3. The only difference is that a composite bat typically has a longer life span than an alloy bat.
Frankie
What category of your bats are approved for Babe Ruth baseball? Gunslinger
Any of the bats with "Youth" in the description are usually approved for Babe Ruth. The 2015 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S110) is considered a Youth Big Barrel bat, and you would have to consult the league director to see if this bat is legal for play in Babe Ruth.
Chinyere
I am 11 years old I am 4'9" and weigh 75 pounds. What would be the right size and weight for me? Beast23
We would recommend the 30" 20 oz. in the 2015 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S110) model for a player with your height and weight.
John
I'm 4 foot 10 inches and 90 pounds. Would you recommend the -8 Easton XL1 or the -10 Easton S1 and what size? tterb
Based on your height and weight I recommend getting the 30 inch. The 2015 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S110) is going to be a balanced model designed for a contact hitter. The Easton XL1 is going to be end loaded and designed for a power hitter.
Frankie
Is it a big barrel? xmaster
Yes, the 2015 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15S110 features a 2 5/8" big barrel.
Jason
What should I get, the S1 2015 or the Mako 2015? Which do you recomend? People say the Mako has weak pop, is this true? chino
In terms of "pop" or performance, the 2015 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S110) and the Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MK9) should be very similar. The main advantage is that the MAKO has a larger sweet spot for more room for error where you could still square one up while the S1 swings a bit lighter for better bat speed. Both are nice choices.
Patrick
I am looking for a bat for my 9 year old son who is 4'7" and weighs about 65/70 pounds. He is doing a spring baseball league and he is good at baseball but hasn't played much. What do you recommend in terms of size, weight, type of bat, etc? This one? It says Senior so I wasn't sure. Alison
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 29" bat. The weight really depends on the bat, but most players using a big barrel, especially around the age of 9, will be swinging a drop 10. A good size to look for would be a 29" 19 oz bat. For the majority of players they will benefit from swinging a balanced bat. The Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15S110 would certainly be a good option. Another good option to consider is the Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15MK10B. Senior League is another way to say Youth Big Barrel bat. Senior League bats are designed for players that can use big barrel bats before high school.
Jason
Is this bat legal for play in intermediate (50/70) league? Jeffrey
This bat would not be legal for the Intermediate (50/70) division of Little League. Little League's regulations require composite bats to be BBCOR, in order to be legal for play.
Nick
Could I use this bat for 13u travel ball? rudy
Yes, the Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S110) is approved for USSSA play.
John
