Easy Swinging, fairly large sweet spot considering the shape. Nicely finished and durable. Surprisingly balanced feel for a wood bat. The tapered grip is great. I have been taking weekly batting practice with it for the last 3 months and hit plenty of balls of the hand of the bat without it breaking. I would definitely buy again.
Very slick coating on the handle, but a little pine tar solves that.

The barrel of the Easton Maple Composite Wood BBCOR Bat will be 2 1/4 inches. All 271 models will have 2 1/4 inch barrels.
What is the difference between a long taper and a short or medium taper bat? Does a short taper make the barrel part of the bat longer?
The taper refers to how quickly the barrel tapers, or "levels out", into the handle. It doesn't necessarily reflect barrel length, but the meaty part of the barrel on bats with short tapers is typically a little more even as the taper doesn't begin it's transition until below the middle of the barrel. Bats with longer tapers are often a little more balanced in weight and the barrel begins it's transition, or taper, into the handle higher up on the bat.
