Description

There are 3 constants when it comes to slow pitch players and their bats. They want a bat that's hot out of the wrapper, they're always looking for the next best thing, and they prefer either a balanced or end-loaded design. Raw Power is Easton's answer. The Raw Power line features the B-Series that offers evenly balanced designs for controlled power, and the L-Series that offers end-loaded designs for absolute maximum power. Part of the L-Series, the L5.0 has a specific end-load weight called out at the end of its 12 inch barrel: 26oz = 1oz load, 27oz = 2oz load, 28oz = 3oz load. The L5.0 features Easton's Single System Composite Design and is made entirely from Easton's trademark IMX Composite. IMX provides the L5.0 an optimal sweet spot and maximum performance, right out of the wrapper. The handle is wrapped with an ultra-thin gauze grip that is perfect for players that like tack without the bulkiness of many modern grips. The time is now to bring Raw Power to YOUR game. Easton: Engineered for Glory! The L5.0 is approved for play in USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF. It is backed by a Full Six (6) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: Took about 30 hits or so to open this bat up but now this thing really swings good!

Cons: I hope it's more durable than previous Easton's, especially since they shortened the warranty.

Brando

Pros: Great bat for the price, seems you pump them out with ease and love the 3 oz. end load on the thing!

Cons: After about 200 hits I now have something rattling around inside. gonna talk to easton about it.

Pros: Bat breaks in fast, after about 30 swings. I bought it to replace my SRV5 Salvo. It has similar feel and more pop then my previous bat. Was hitting 300 warning track now hitting the fence and popped a few over the fence at 325. Colour pretty slick as well.

Cons: Gauze grip was not a good fit without batting gloves. I put an Easton VRS grip to replace.

Not for power hitters Walter Deuce player

Pros: The bat feels good in your hands. I'm a power hitter. I consistently hit 300-425 ft. home runs. When the home runs are gone it's easy to hit through people with this bat. Break-in period is one round of 50 for me. The 1 oz. end load is the max I can use though because a 2 oz. is VERY noticeable.

Cons: In my first BP with this bat. I started with a round of 50 balls. I rotated 1/4" every swing and was full swing at ball 30. They advertise HOT OUT THE RAPPER but I was safe. At the end of the round there was a large rattle, like something popped loose. A guy told me the end loads come apart on this bat.

Pros: Hits far after about 100 hits with Great pop!

Cons: Only lasted about 200 hits before it began to rattle. Continued to use for another 50 hits until it was completely dead. Had bat about for 5 practices and 3 games.

L5.0 "E"- Level Player player

Pros: This bat is truely one of the only bats i have ever swung to be extremely hot out of the wrapper, it has an amazing feel to it even on mis hits. I was hitting lazers to the out field just trying to chop it. i will be buying a couple more to keep on stock.

Cons: Not a fan of the 6 month warranty

This bat is FIRE! Chris L. player

Pros: Takes very little effort to hit 250ft plus ropes! Took a couple games and BP before this bat started to come alive! Now it is all POP and fire!

Cons: The bat being discontinued. I guess it makes the ones out there more valuable!

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton L5.0 Slow Pitch Softball Bat: SP13L5? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Why is this bat, the L5.0, cheaper than the other 2 new USSSA bats? And what type of pop does it have in comparison to the two other more expensive ones? Jrfish
The 2014 Easton L5.0: SP13L5 Slow Pitch bat is constructed with Easton's IMX composite, not their newest SIC Black Carbon composite. Performance will be comparable across all USSSA certified slow pitch bats.
Mac
Is this the same composite handle as the old Brett Helmer: SCN18BH model? M24
The 2014 Easton L5.0: SP13L5 Slow Pitch model and the SCN18BH are both one-piece bats that feature Easton's IMX Composite throughout.
Mac
How many ounces of end load are available for the 34" 28 oz.? WLCsoftball
The 2014 Easton L5.0: SP13L5 Slow Pitch 34" 28 oz. is going to have a 3 oz. end load.
Kevin
Does a 28 oz. bat swing and feel like a 28 oz. bat or will it feel heavier and swing slower? SeanB
The 2014 Easton L5.0: SP13L5 Slow Pitch is an end loaded bat, meaning it has the weight distributed towards the end, which makes it swing slightly slower.
Katie
I just purchased n Easton L5.0 and now I'm looking for a decent alloy/aluminum bat (for BP and possible team use) to replicate the L5's feel and weight. Any suggestions? Zeke
We recommend the 2013 Easton Reflex: SP13RX Slow Pitch. It is a one-piece alloy bat. It will have an end loaded feel like the 2014 Easton L5.0: SP13L5 Slow Pitch.
Kara
What are the differences between this bat and the L6.0? T
The 2014 Easton L5.0: SP13L5 Slow Pitch bat is identical to the L6.0, but they are approved for different leagues. The L5.0 is approved for USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF while the L6.0 is only approved for ASA and ISF.
Mac
Does the endload mean that the bat will weigh more than it is stickered? So a 26oz has a 1oz endload does that mean the actual weight is going to be 27oz. And a 27oz has a 2oz endload does that mean the actual weight will be 29oz? Or will the bat still weigh around what it is stickered at (within 0.3-0.5oz of stickered weight)? slowpitch player
The 2014 Easton L5.0 is an end loaded bat which means more weight is distributed at the end of the bat. As you go up in weight with this model more weight is distributed at the end of the bat. This is usually preferred by power hitters.
Damon
How does it compare to the 2014 Easton L1 (SP13L1) Slow Pitch bat? Miller Time
The 2014 Easton L5.0 (SP13L5) and the 2014 Easton L1 (SPL13L1) Slow Pitch bats are the same except the L1.0 uses a higher quality SIC carbon composite in the handle.
